Thanks Bella! I have cut my carbs and that I feel is the main reason I have lost weight. I just cut carbs and sugar. My DH is a huge bread and potatoes guy which lead me to eating more carbs over the years. Since I stop eating that type food I feel so much better! More energy and less gas.. hahaha Loopy

Iโ€™m not really following any type of plan but a few years ago I cut out soda, tv dinners and most things that are packaged. A friend calls it JERFing (Just Eat Real Food). I lost about 60 lbs in the year before diagnosis by doing this and lots of walking.

As far as tracking nutrition goes, I love the My Fitness Pal app (using it since 2010), I has probably the largest food database around, is easy to use and the basic version is free and very useful. Hereโ€™s an example of the log and macros.

Down 7lbs this week by doing my alternate day fasting. I now need to be sensible, my last 4 weigh ins have been up 7, down 7, up 7, down 7! Holidays are fun though and I love feasting.

Back from vacation weighing the same as before. Woohoo. I did a ton of biking and it probably helped that my pedalling was not electrically assisted.ย

Down 1.2kg, BMI 29. Very pleased with this ๐Ÿ˜Š. I can't find a pattern yet with my breath ketone monitor ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ. I'm recording the highest of three readings each time - it certainly varies! I had one meal out this week, Lamb with a lovely gravy, roast veges and couscous. No dessert or alcohol, which I had been having on previous meals out ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. I worked out i had at least 51 carbs that day, with my normal avocado, lemon juice, psyllium powder, kefir and chia seeds to get fibre up to at least 30 grams. The meter certainly showed a nose dive which continued till two mornings later when I was in high ketosis again (66.3 ppm). So it is good (but disappointing) that it's showing me it takes over 24 hours to get back into ketosis. I will have to consider this when I want to eat out.

I'm going away next Tuesday for two and a half weeks - one week with my parents where I know we r eating out for Dads 88th Birthday and a bbq for Fathers Day. I could do keto there the rest of the week, though Dad will be pushing the fruit he grows onto me. I'm not taking my monitor. Then I'm going to the Great Barrier Reef where I'm staying with a friend in her waterfront property for 5 days, and I know we will eat out! Then 6 days on a Tall Ship around the Whitsunday Islands, fully catered ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I definitely will be eating whatever is provided. And I will be drinking at Sunset every day ๐Ÿฅ‚. Ah well, Im aiming to enjoy myself on my holiday. So I will do keto when I get home again and get rid of however much weight I put on, and keep on going with this restrictive diet until I get to a normal BMI ๐Ÿ‘.

I am very happily down 2 pounds.....amazing what logging your food, substituting vegetables for noodles, and fruit for a candy bar will do!

Loving all the positive posts! I'm a neutral post! I am hanging out at 140. My grandkids have spent most of the last 2 weeks if summer break with me. Which means u have ate more french fries than I ever would! Also ice cream and a few Popsicles. Meet the teacher is Friday and school starts Monday. I'll just have the 2 little with the older ones go back. It's easier it eat healthy with the 1 and 3 year old. The 12 and 11 not so much! Monday it's back to boot camp for me!

Iโ€™m up 1.2 this week but I expected it. DH is home for a few days and requested lasagna and we went out for fried chicken and movie ๐Ÿฟ. Back to business next week ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats to everyone staying on task!

I'm up one. Clearly time to hit the brakes. No exercise due to air quality here.

up one as well. Been exercising but also eating a ton. Oh, and drinks every night! Life is fun, but not when my clothes don't fit. Next week I'm going down.

Down 1 lb to 145.8 Slow and steady. 5.8 lbs to goal weight. I was a little surprised by my loss, as we had been on vacation for a few days, eating and drinking all those vacation goodies. But with the heat and my allergy medication for this time of year, I generally am not as hungry as usual. Going to a music festival this weekend, and then next week off for 2 weeks vacation to Wales and England - doubt I will be able to maintain, but we will see.

Down .5 after a climb to an alarming number last Friday.

Pat, I've never gained weight on a vacation. So much walking always eats up the extra calories.

Down .6 and Iโ€™ll take it. Also, weโ€™re starting to have a few mornings below 80 degrees here, getting outside should help ๐Ÿ˜€

I haven't been to WW the last two Mondays. When I weighed at the gym on Sunday morning, I was holding my own. But my wedding ring has been tight lately which is a bad sign of retained fluid. I hope to go to WW next Monday. Will weigh tomorrow morning at the gym.

I chickened out last Wednesday and would not get on the scales! I did not want to get to hung up on a number. I made myself get on the scales this morning and I'm down a little over 2 pounds! I can't let the numbers stress me out! I just want to feel good!

    Up .5. No excuses.

Down 3 this morning since my last weigh in two weeks ago. Congrats to Ilimae and Vargadoll on the losses. Really trying to stick to the long fast- eating between 10-6 each day. Maybe that's helping

I was up .4 at the WW weigh in last night. Was prepared for a bigger gain so I was relieved. The meeting was good and I enjoyed the other people, as usual. I need to move the incremental weight changes in the other direction! Down not up.

Oh dear! I was up 2.5 lbs this morning. Obviously I need to buckle down. I do blame the fall inclination to gain fat for my winter hibernation, but still!

Well Wren, I beat you, Iโ€™m up 2.6 lbs. Not sure what happened this week, maybe too much celebrating (stable scans last week). Anyway, back at it.

I have been helping out a friend with a big project that involves many hours a day of sitting at a computer. She is plying me with chocolate.....so....not good. We should be done by the end of the week & then I will have to get back to both sitting less and eating less!!

I havent checked in for a couple of weeks. Held steady at my lower weight and then this morning I am down .5. It seemsto be working for me to just eat healthy and stay in that groove instead of starving myself. This is sustainable.

Ilimae, glad to hear the scans were stable! Keep at it everyone.
My weight is the same this week: still need to lose a few more lbs to reach my goal.

I agree with Falconer- Keep at it! For my own sanity I can't weigh myself every week. I can check in and tell you how I feel every week...lol. I just can't get hung up on a number. My clothes are getting looser and I have more energy. Have a great week ladies...let's get moving!

I put on 3.5kg in the last 3 weeks, but had a fantastic time away in the sun, so it was worth it! ๐Ÿ˜Ž I'm still on the tall ship in my head, reality hasn't hit yet despite onc visit and treatment yesterday. Back on ketogenic since Sunday, but I went out for Japanese yesterday which was delicious. Going out for Thai on Friday and wine and whine (dog fundraiser) on Sunday, so I don't expect to be down too much next week ๐Ÿ™. Ah well, it will happen, just not as fast as I would like. But I've decided to accept this as food is a large part of socialising and I do enjoy it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Also, I've stopped my daily Bacardi and diet cola at home, only having a drink when out. Alcohol stops ketosis so this should help. Well done to all who lost or held this week, and keep going to those of us who gained.

    Hello everyone,

It feels motivated to see all of you being so fit and losing weight. Well I haven't reach the point yet but I would like to know that is it fact that we gain weight during the Chemo and can lose the weight once Chemo is done. Currently I am on weekly Taxol and I have three more to go. I used to be active person before this whole Cancer started. I used to weigh around 133 lbs but once the chemo started i.e from May 2018, my workout stopped and happen to gain weight. Now I weigh 145 lbs. I have been reading that because of the steroids and during chemo, we tend to gain weight. I am pretty conscious on what I eat. I don't eat much of the junk food and try to avoid soda.

So do you ladies think that once the Chemo is done, there are chances to lose the weight. I know that it will not drop without doing anything but i want to know how was your experiences on it. I am already worried that what if I will not be able to. I have always been conscious about my weight and kinda feel insecure about it as well.

    Thank you so much .

About the same this week, I just need to be a bit more disciplined.
