Wren, hope your DH is getting better.

Ilimae, glad to hear about your retirement. And I like the new photo!

Bella, don't be disappointed! It's something!

Ruth, I'm with you except my reasons are none. Up a few ounces. Bleh. Tonightis a margarita on the rocks, no salt.

Wow, Wren! That's a significant weight loss.

Wren- hope DH is on the mend.

    Ruth- valid excuses! Winking

    Congrats on retirement illmae!

Falconer - I'll take the salt!! I still crave salt like crazy!

I'm still maintaining 142. I suspect I'll be done next Wednesday because I have a colonoscopy on Tuesday! Not my favorite weight loss plan! I get all anxious about any test I have to have now...hoping that ends soon! Before BC I never worried about any scan or procedure. SickTired

Wren the “too busy to eat” diet works every time. I hope your husband is doing Ok.

Falconer thats the cutest exercise partner!

Speaking of sons, i got talked into going to Olive Garden over the weekend and have spent 5 days whittling away at the weight gain. whether its the sodium and carbs or calories. it certainly does not agree with me. i should be back to last weeks weight by tomorrow.

Illimae congrats on retirement 🎉. As a stage 4 i am enjoying retirement as much as possible, doing heaps of what makes me happy 😎. I spend a lot of time trying to maintain my health, by attending gym, tai chi, Pilates etc. Also most days researching nutrition, health and cancer. I live with my 24 yo daughter who is vegan, so only cook keto for myself. But I couldn't imagine trying to do all of this if I was working. You won't know ur self, no more work stress and u can still meet up with ur work friends for cuppas and meals 🙂. I go out all the time, sometimes I fast or stay keto and sometimes I'm naughty 😊- can't be too hard on ur self, food brings pleasure. I hope u enjoy a great retirement!

My WW weigh in yesterday was good news. I was down 3 lbs after being up a lb. last Monday. Back down to being 5 lbs from goal weight. I'll have to not celebrate too much and blow my progress!

Congrats Carole! You can do this - 5 lbs to goal weight! My WW weigh in today was down .8 to 148.2. Loving my new leader and meeting, it makes such a difference in my resolve. 8.2 to goal weight for me.

Up half a kilo ☹️.i had one cheat day, but stuck to my macros and restricted feeding the rest of the time. Ah well, I will keep going. Congratulations to all who maintain or lose this week 😊

Maintaining still but was down slightly, so I consider myself moving in the right direction finally. Thyroid levels not quite where the doc’s want them, so we’ll see if the increased dosage helps.

Hang in there, Illimae. I know from the What's For Dinner? thread that you eat healthy food. Hope you get the thyroid function adjusted.

Bella, some fluctuation is inevitable. Don't give up.

Pat, wishing you success in losing that 8 lbs. My goal weight was 142 quite a few years ago. I've gradually raised it to 160 but would be happy to get down to 155.

Let's eat and enjoy. And lose weight!!

Up 1, which is actually good news. Last week was kind of scary as I ended up a pound below my goal weight. Now I'm 1/2 lb above which is good enough for me. Now to maintain at this level by eating healthily.

Still bad; I am going back to logging all the food I eat on my Fitbit app.

I am 140.8 full clothed with shoes on! So I'm down 2 pounds. I accomplished this from my colonoscopy prep!

Congrats to all! We gain we lose but most importantly we are aware of what's going in our bodies and where it ends up! ( my backside!)

Ruth- you are having a fun summer! A few pounds is worth it!

Ah yes, Vargadoll; but as far as food goes, the fun never ends! Loopy

    • Finally I’ve got around to posting my WW-in after 2 weeks of blissful holidays, eating exactly what I wanted including tons of ice cream and also drinking quite a lot of alcohol. I was up 7lbs as a result of all that, at 145lbs and it was worth it! Now I’m going back to my alternate day fasting and I’ve decided to set myself a new target weight of 130lbs. My weight was 173 lbs a few years ago. My body fat and BMI are now in the healthy range but I think I would feel better if I was lighter. I have a lot of hip pain nearly all the time and I think losing weight will help that. So between now and Christmas I’m planning to focus on a really strict regime.
Illimae congratulations on retirement, it will be blissful, and you’ll be able to prioritise looking after yourself and enjoying every moment. Well done to everyone, let’s keep going

I weighed in last night at WW instead of this morning, as I have meals on wheels to deliver today. Down 1.4 to 146.8 Very happy with that loss. Now I will be going away for a few days on Friday, to visit with family, so if I come back and I've maintained I will be very happy.

Good for you, Pat! I was up 1.6 last night at WW weigh in. Will have to do better this week.

Down 800grams 😊. My pants r actually loser now and I was measured on the body composition machine at the gym, I've lost 4 cm from my waistline, wow! Ate out 3 times, naughty I know.

Bought a Bluetooth Ketonix to measure my breath ketones to see why the weight isn't falling off as fast as it should. So far I'm getting widely different scores when I do 3 in a row, need to work on my technique. Have finally decided to give up my one Bacardi a night as I keep reading that alcohol kicks u out of ketosis, even though there are NO carbs in spirits ☹️. But I may have a drink if I eat out, because if I eat carbs and drop out of ketosis anyway, I may as well keep going until the next day when I'm back to restricted feeding and keto again. Still trying to find a balance between weight loss and socialising/eating out 🥂. Well done to those who lost or maintained this week and keep going everyone.

Good job, Pat and Bella! I didnt weigh in last week so not sure of the exact amount I lost since last report but I am .6 below my previous lowest in my bobbing up and down weight range. I am currently on the “too busy to eat” diet.

Holding steady at 140...I want to see 130-135! My goal is to be there by my next oncologist appointment so I can tell the skinny PA that yes it is possible to lose weight on Tamoxifen or Anastrozole. When I saw her in March I weighed almost 162. I had gained about 15 pounds since I finished radiation. She said oh you'll never lose the 15 pounds even if you starve yourself. It's impossible. I have lost more than the 15 and have 10+ to go

I'm so happy for all of you; coming here and sharing your ups and downs. Bella, I am curious about ketosis as I read about it in various places. Do you have any links you can share?

As for me, I'm at the same weight I've been, which is still five lbs off of my goal.

I was curious about ketosis to!

Falconer and Vargadoll, Ketosis per Wikipedia: Ketosis is a metabolic state in which some of the body's energy supply comes from ketone bodies in the blood, in contrast to a state of glycolysis in which blood glucose provides energy. Generally, ketosis occurs when the body is metabolizing fat at a high rate and converting fatty acids into ketones.

I started this journey following the dietdoctor website, which does not try to sell u any products. It has expanded enormously since I started, as low carbohydrate and ketogenic diets r being more accepted in society. There r many links from this site. I pay a small subscription each month to access all the information but there r so many more free websites these days that u don't really need to do that any more. The lifestyle is not safe for everyone, please read the info to determine this for ur self.

The app I now use to record my nutrition is called KetoDiet, there was a small initial cost for this. It has a wealth of low carb and keto info and heaps of recipes. But it does not record many micronutrients, such as calcium etc, which would be helpful. And I can't be bothered entering my nutrition into another app such as Chronometer just for this. But perhaps someone here knows another app that is better?

I love the diet doctor website even though I dont do keto, because I do low carb. They offer a lot of free content even to non members.
