I think we often tend to be too hard on ourselves.  Sometimes we need to cut ourselves some slack.  There will always be next Wednesday's weigh in.

    No change for me.

Silver lining: I'm getting really good at maintaining.

Down 2.5 to 163!  Still I ways to go to get back to my pre thanksgiving weight, but it's a start.  Hubby and I started South Beach diet this week, which obviously is helping.  We will probably fall off the wagon Sunday, superbowl party at our house, but then we will continue till we go on vacation mid february.  It's good that we are both on it, less likely to cheat!  I'll see how I do tonight though, birthday dinner with some girlfriends at a restaurant.

Well, I am up 0.8, so I might as well say I'm up one lb. which is OK because I weighed in at 119.8 and my goal is to maintain at 120. I should be happy I'm not up more. I know exactly where I went wrong, multiple times this week: things like 2 fast food meals, eating too much bread, eating too many of the delicious, full-of-butter rosemary shortbread cookies my son-in-law made, neglecting to track my WW points after Friday...

Well, this is a new week, and I know how to get back on track and I will.

Pat01, I think South Beach is the healthiest of all the low carb plans and they have some great recipes.

Ruthbru and Wren, I love your quotes - lol!

Down half a pound which is surprising seeing that I spent the weekend in Seattle, and ate at restaurants every meal. I did a lot of walking through stores though . . . Also came back with a nasty cold which took away my appetite.

Annie, bread with butter is my biggest downfall. It is a constant struggle, because I can never stick to just one piece. Oh well, let's try again!

Down 1 to 130.5. Still in the bouncing range, so not sure how much credit to give it.

I was right. I'm up 2.2lbs. Cold and carbs did me in.  I had not gotten to the grocery store for healthy replenishment and it was so cold Monday  and Tuesday that I ate whatever we had left in the house and lots of it. That was pasta one night and taquitos and Mac and cheese the next.  I will say though that none of that even tasted good to me after having given it up for so long.

I went to the store tonight and am fully replenished. Tomorrow surely will be better.

AnnieLane, or in the words of Scarlett, "Tomorrow is another day".

I am trying out a new app called Argus for the first time today.  It automatically tracks your steps, or distance, or exercise time and you can take pictures of your food and keep track of your weight.  It doesn't count calories or carbs or anything but I never do that anyway.  I found other apps to be so tedious like Lose It or My Fitness Pal that I stopped using them.  This one is pretty cool and I think it might help me.  Even the photos of my meals.  Do I really want to have a photo on my page that shows a nasty burger in a paper wrapper.  No!  So I'll let you know what I think as I use it and maybe I'll post a picture of it at the end of the day.

That sound really interesting, TwoHobbies. Yes, let us know how that app works for you.

Uggh - why do football parties go hand in hand with overindulging in food and drink?  I did great for the first few hours, but by halftime I gave in.  Back on the diet today, but I'm afraid my sins of yesterday will show on the scale Wednesday.  I love football, but glad football parties are over for another year!

pat01, I agree. DH made a crab dip and chocolate torte. Since we only had one guest, we have over half left. So I'm just resigned to it being up this week. Valentine's Day is the next hurdle.

136.6 down 2.2 from last week.  I think my goal is 135 so not far to go now.

I am down the2.2 lbs I gained last week bringing me back to my plateau weight of 128,5. My body really wants to stay here!

It's kind of difficult to decide what it one's proper weight.  When I was younger I was about 130 pounds, an inch taller and had way more muscle.  So I suppose 135 (since I don't have nearly the muscle and shrank an inch) is still likely a bit high for me.  Perhaps 128.5 is a good weight for you TwoHobbies.

About the same as last week, 119.6 lbs, which is fine since I'm trying to stay at or below 120. Maintenance is tricky.

I'm suspecting maintenance is as difficult if not more so, than losing weight.

    163. No change this week - I dieted 6 days out of 7, sabotaging myself superbowl sunday, but grateful that at least I didn't gain!  Will diet one more week, then leave for a nice warm weather vacation in Dominican Republic.  It's an all inclusive, so if I'm 163 after  vacation I will consider that a major victory.
Really need more exercise in my life, sitting through a snow/sleet event right now, getting ready to see if any of my summer clothes fit!

Something is not right. I gained over a kilo! I upped the dose of metformin finally to the prescribed dose and now I am gaining weight. I'll have to see how it goes next week.

Ugh!  I hope you get back on an even keel Heidi.  Maybe you are more hydrated this week.

Have not lost any, have not gained any. I've lost the mojo that helped me lose 14 lbs from August to November last year, and just cannot get motivated again. I'm exercising, but not eating as I should. I know what works, and what to do. DH and DS birthdays coming up this weekend - I'm just so darn tired of being so friggin' good . . . Thank heavens for this thread where I can come to whine about my struggles!

Marple I am 5'2". I weighed 113 to 115 before my son was born so I feel like maybe I should be 118 in middle age here. I will see how it goes.  Consistency is key. Eat well 13 out of14 days rather than 5 of 7 which is my current pattern.

Up .5 to 131. Pleasantly surprised because it was much higher on Mon.

Yes, it was a false alarm, Marple. I am back to last week's weight this morning. I was just constipated. Loopy

liefie, you will get your mojo back, and please come whine here anytime you want.  I remember last fall we had similar weight loss goals, and you did so wonderful with yours, while I crashed and burned.  Now I'm struggling just to get down to where I was last fall!  I'm going on a warm weather vacation next week, and tried my summer clothes on yesterday - finding very little that fit.  And the thought of a bathing suit right now is scary!  But we just have to keep on keeping on, striving for that healthier weight and healthier body.

I missed yesterday because we left VERY early to get nipples. (Yay!)

Weighed myself this morning and am down 1 pound! (YAY!!!!!!!!)

Bummed that I have to take a week off from exercising, and hoping it doesn't ruin my progress. BUT I'm obeying to protect these little additions. Lol.

Thanks for the encouragement, Pat, and enjoy your holiday. One good thing about warm weather is that one does not have such a huge appetite, so maybe it will not be so bad.

Dulcigirl, good for you on the weight loss, and the new nipples! Getting my new nipple in April, and looking forward to that.

I just got back from a week's vacation. Lots of activity but even more eating......am NOT looking forward to the scale on Wednesday!
