Karen and Chrissy, I will be holding your hands today as you have your scans.
It is a beautiful day here, cold but anything is better than the rain yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Wonderful news Katopet......a grandson, such a joy
Kate.....good luck with your job app & mammogram. Fingers crossed for you.
Chrissy.....fingers crossed for you too, nothing seems to get you down! You're quite the inspiration
I, on the other hand, am a nervous wreck & thinking the worst......can't help myself LOL
As Chrissy said, a date with the stable boy would be nice but would much rather an affair with NED!!!!
The weather is very wet & windy here in Perth so wishing I didn't have to go out today:(
No damage or loss of power where I live though..
Thanks for all the good wishes girls & hope everyone has a good day....
Karen x0 -
Kylie congratulations on the grand son! I have four and they light up my life........you will love being a gran.
Thanks for the thoughts girls, much appreciated. I'm sitting in the waiting room at the radiologists. The ultra sound is done and I'm just sitting waiting for the time to start my litre of liquid before the CT at 2.30. Can't wait for it to be over as I am starving. I had to fast for six hours so I haven't eaten since dinner last night! The old tum is growling its so empty........lol. Oh well it won't be long now and I can eat my fill while I'm waiting for the results.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy0 -
Hope it has gone well Chrissy and Karen...
Just home from work. Have to call my mum in New Zealand, cook dinner and do my uni readings :-/

I felt a litle down after been to BS, first of all i never saw him, i saw his probably registra, and when i tried to addess my concerns, he brushed me off, and the Breast care nurse said, she had set me up with this today so i could ask questions. so was rather disapointed, i thought who the hell can you ask about things, do i need to just talk to my gp. i came out feeling quite annoyed and a little angry really, excuse me venting. he examined me and said, everything is fine and we donot need to see you for a year, we will book a mamogram in a year for you. that part was fine. but i just wanted to check a few things out. thats me over and out, hope things were ok with you other lovely ladies who had appointments today. have a good nite girls.

Hi girls finally home! Well the CT and US were all clear.........no nasties anywhere but no gallstones either so still no idea what is causing the gall pain or the face numbness. Doc says that maybe they are all SE's of the Femara. I did ask why they would be showing up now and he says he has no idea. He did give me a sample pack of Lyrica to try and see if that makes any difference to the tender head and numb face. I'm to give it a week and then Ho see him once again. Hopefully the Lyrica will help.
Dang Midnight that just sucks! I know what you mean when you have to walk away with questions still on your mind. That......whatever he is needs to be told and not nicely that patient care is not just the examination.
Hope you are all up to par.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Hi everyone.
Chrissy, congrats on your scan results!
Kylie, congrats on your grandson; so exciting for you :-).
Midnight, I understand your frustration. We have to learn to be assertive with our doctors while pandering to their egos. I told my onc straight out how often I would like to see him, and even though it was in excess of standard, he was fine with it. If you aren't happy, ring or write your questions or ask for another appointment. Or talk to your GP if that works for you.
My onc never had a registrar but my radiation onc did. I was happy to see the registrar though as I didn't have any issues and the registrar was equally nice.
In short, you deserve to receive a service that meets your needs so follow up, diplomatically, if you need more answers.
I hope this helps.0 -
Chrissy - does that mean the 2 spots they were suspicious about before are OK?
0 -
Sue what was scanned wasn't near those spots so I think they are still there. The good thing is there is no soft tissue involvement as yet.......now that is a good thing!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Sure is!!!

It's great to see good news on here !! I'm relieved for you Chrissy0
-
Chrissy that's great news, and I'm so pleased for you.
Midnight - that's frustrating for you - I've also learnt - like Racy that you need to be assertive with some drs. I do see my onc's registrar occasionally, but he's very nice and actually listens to me, then reports all to the onc who sits with me for a few minutes to confirm what I've told the registrar. I guess they need to learn, so don't mind too much.
Kylie - congratulations - a little grandson to look forward to xoxox
Everything going well over in this little part of the world. Has been quite warm compared to last week - we got to 24 degrees yesterday! Today will be warm too, but some horrible windy weather coming through this morning, that's one thing I hate - the wind, and it can be destructively strong in Canberra.
Have a great day all

Midnight I would be mad, some doctors need to learn how to deal with patients.
Took DGS for a walk this morning and had coffee, up until now he wouldn't try a 'fluffy' - you Aussies call them baby chinos?? He had a wonderful time and gave me somethying to smile about.
So pleased all is well Chrissy.
Big hugs

Greaat photo Alyson (yep, we call them a babychinos). I'm baby sitting a friends three kids. Three boys. One is 22 months old and there is also a set of 6 month old twins. I'm exhausted but money can't buy this kind of therapy I'm not up to taking them all out which is a shame beause it is a beautiful day today (I bet we are in double figure for degrees !!!) Amanda0

24 Trish - simply devine. It's been horrible over here and with the storms yesterday I lost power for nearly 6 hours. Luckily it came on just before dark. I am OVER this weather big time. Today is cool and cloudy and around 15.
Paul went back yesterday. He also went back to the Dr's and is on different anti-biotics. It's a blamy 32 where he is and not a cloud in sight. In summer time it is in the high 40's which is waay too hot for me, but luckily he's in an airconditioned office and his donga is airconditioned too.
So I'm on my ownsome again for the new three weeks. I've just sent off my job application. Hand on heart I know I gave it everything, so know I will just have to wait and see.
Great news Chrissy on your test results and Midnight, I'm sorry you didn't get all your questions answered. I hate that you were just brushed off like that. Wouldn't it be great to put the shoe on the other foot so to speak.
I'm eagerly awaiting how Karen got on yesterday. I'm hoping that she gets good results too.
Not much else from me. Guess I should really try and get this house back into order. Housework has taken a big back step whilst Paul was at home.
Love to all xxxx

Housework Kate, what's that? Originally I blamed treatment for not doing it, then I blamed getting over treatment, and now I'm blaming trying to get a life back after treatment. Works for me.
Chrissy, great news about your results.
Alyson, DGS is absolutely gorgeous. You couldn't help but smile - what a sweety. x

Chrissy...great news about your results (((((hugs)))))
Kate.....I hope you can keep busy so the time passes quickly while DH is away & that you get a quick response re your job application....
Just picked up my scans & of course i read the report lots of technical words I don't understand but the summary is 'no progression'!!!!! So I am feeling pretty happy today & cant wipe the smile off my face
Given I'm triple neg & hormonals don't work, it's a pretty good result from just radiation & my monthly Xgeva injection
I will find out more tomorrow at my onc appointment but at least i can relax for a couple of months.....also we can now go ahead & book our trip to Europe in October!!
So, all in all, a good day & long may it last....hope everyone else is having a good day too.. (((hugs)))
Karen x0 -
Yay Karen!! That makes two with good news....lol. That trip to Europe sounds great and now with good scans you can enjoy every minute........yahoo!!!!!

So happy for you Karen. Yours and chrissy's great news has helped to cheer me up.

Well it's been a good news week all around . That's such good news Karen. Here's hopeing for the quadrella tomorrow with my ultra sound.
Got the application sent and and an email acknowledgement back. So relieved, I suddenly thought (an hour after it closed) what if there's a glitch with the computer and it bounces back... I needn't have worried though.
Aly I forgot to say before how gorgeous your GS is. And Kylie such good news on your little boy too - I bet youré just bursting with anticipation for his arrival.

Good news for everyone! :-). Soooooo glad.
Still overwhelmed here with work and uni and looking forward to my surgery date so I can have some enforced rest :-/
Jenn0 -
Kazzie, great news.
Kate, lol, quadrella is a betting term for the races. I hope you win :-).
Kylie, I have never caught up with housework since treatment.
Jenn, hope the study is going ok.
Lynda, are you ok?0 -
Im good Racy, just down about Marybe. She was pretty much the first person who's posts I read and I admired her very much. So sad for her family and friends and all of us here

Morning all,
It was wonderful to have DGS yesterday, made me smile on a very sad day. And this helped as well. DGD decided to dress up, its great what you can find in Granny's wardrobe.
0 -
Aly I can't believe how much those beauties have grown! GD looks so cute all dressed up and GS looked like he was really enjoying that fluffy once he tried it.
So looking forward to October! Can't wait.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Good news from me. Ultrasound didn't show up anything, so it must be aggravation from the seat belt stirring things up AND I've got an interview for the job tomorrow at 2.00pm - they're not mucking around. Geez I could be back in the thick of things next week (here's hopeing).
