Just checking to see if any news on Jenn, am sure someone will post if any news comes through. Imagine its a long procedure and recovery will be tough, but better days ahead.

So pleased all is well with Jenn.

DH has a conference call so I have laptop in bed checking BCO and facebook.

We had an interesting morning yesterday. DS has Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which causes him really erractic heart rhythm, DGS has a heart murmur and of course DH has serious heart problems and so one of the family research teams asked if they could see us as a family. DS couldn't attend but they had all his notes. So we all had ecgs and echo cardiograms which was fascinating. DDs were fine, DH we know about but it looks as if I have some mild damage probably from chemo!! How about that? Heart muscles are quit stiff and don't work as well as they should. Not sure what will happenso will wait and see.

DD2 was delighted all was well so now she can get her Canadian application in.

Tonight we are taking our family out to dinner as its the first time we have all been in the same place for quite awhile.

    Have a great weekend.

I'm so happy that Jenn came through it ok, it was such a long op. hoping she's not too uncomfortable this morning.

Aly you did have an interesting day! You had the same chemo as me, except I had Taxotere instead of Taxol, so it's a bit scary to hear it's caused heart problems!

Yesterday's weather has eased a bit, still windy and now very cold. Kate, remember Bredbo Pub? It's roof blew off yesterday morning, and that's what caused our power failure.

Have a great long weekend all

    Trish

So sorry to hear you are having these problems Alyson that is the last thing you need! Did the medicos say damage caused by chemo, I just wonder if it was actually the radiation?  Stiff heart muscles more likely from RX, hope they can find a good treatment for that, best wishes Lola.

Glad to hear Jenn come thru ok, thats awsome news. she has a long recovery road, i am sure. But she is back with us, yahoo.

Hows the weather over your way, Trish. you managed to get home ok. your electricity back on, so you can cook. i do hope you are all ok over there.

Alyson, hope that heart problem is sorted out soon and they can fix it. they say that rads can also damage the ticker as well. you can't win, have treatment to kill one thing and the treatment comes back and bites you in another way. i read on other threads how some of the ladies refuse chemo as they would rather have life quality than pro longed misery, i think that sometimes you can't blame them, but its the ones i think we leave behind in that case, i think we can become single minded when we feel so bad and think, stuff this, thats  how i was feeling the other night with my headache,  dam tamoxifen, is this doing this?  whats the point,  i said this to hubby, he said, yea i know, but i am not ready for you to go anywhere and if you dont take those pills, it could come back and then it could be worse and i am not ready to face life without you. so you better take those Tamox.  but i was feeling pretty dam terrible, so i was actually venting off. and i was pissed with the long wait and my head is still sore in that temple area between the temple and the ear where the headache is.

    glad jenn is ok, yay.

Cheers girls and cheers for Jenn

I had a text from Jenn this morning saying that the Fentanyl is not covering the pain, so they are putting her on morphine, and she's had no sleep so far. Poor chicken will have a pretty uncomfortable time for a while I think.

Back on Fentanyl very fast. Quite a big reaction to morphine :-( cannula just blew 1/2 hour ago. After multiple tries for a new site no good veins on the non bc side except for 1/2 way up my arm on the inner side. So tired - need sleep ... Breasts still good though :-)

Hoping Jenn is fast asleep and in no pain. Alyson, I sure hope your heart is okay and this can get sorted out quickly.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend. Looks like we're about to have a storm. I do think you Mexicans could be a bit more selfish and keep your bad weather, we dont need it up here.

    Hi Midnight,

I'm up! It's almost 8.30 here and we've had breakfast, walked the dogs and I've put a load of washing on the line lol.

Looks like a beautiful day here today. Yesterday was cold and windy, but today will be a taste of summer I think. Great day to get out in the garden. Most of us have a long weekend, so another day at home tomorrow.

I haven't heard anything about Jenn yet, so I'm hoping she got some sleep too.

    Trish

lucky things, long weekend, we could do with that now. We are so far behind on things with the hassel with truck drivers, one is on acc now. and he has been seen so many times working on his stock car, supposed to have a sore back.  i know sitting around does not do it much good either, but building a stock car when you on Acc,  hardly able to move and get of the couch. Acc rang me other day and asked some questions, he told her he got it loading the trucks . our drivers donot load trucks, Hubby and BIL do it at 4.30 every morning andf he has never reported any accident as he would have to fill out an incident form, he does not want to do the run he has to do now and he does not like the truck he is in, but thru his personal issues that  came into his work situation, we were forced by the  company we are contracted to, to remove him from that run or they want him out altogether, so trying to save his job, we removed him to another run. and since about then, he has not come back, two days he did it for, so what do you do? and we are desperatly trying to find another truck driver. we were going to do another interview last night and he rang to say, his wife had to take the car to wellington and did not have a vehicle to get him there. so that was that out the window.  all go here.. very distressing at times, the stress that you can be under. it worries me with the BC whether it will come back. we are very vunrable once you are DX with that. i dont know what an impact stress can do to BC. we have a good day weather wise and i am going to get off my bum and do some house work as boy it needs it.   so cheers for now.

Hopefully Jenn is in a nice, comfortable deep sleep. Fingers crossed.

It is blowing a gale here, we went to Kiama last night for a 21st and it was freezing and windy down there too. Come on nice weather.

Hi Girls - writing to you from my brand new PC which I have spent the last 4 hours setting up - what a pain. Good news was connecting to my cable internet connection didn't require any work at all - it just worked. I love it - my old one was still on XP and wouldn't update, so it had to go. Got this one for 535 less 150 off my credit card I got from flybuys for points I had.
