Yay Sue! So glad you really loved your anniversary dinner!!! Champagne cocktails are the BEST!! Lucky you!!!

Kate got the dates marked down and those dates sound just fine for me. Will put them on the diary straight away.

Yep I'm all sorted for accommodation thank you to Sue and I will be staying with my niece for a couple of days after the get together so I can get the cheapest fares so that's good too. I haven't seen her or her kids for three years now and I can't wait to catch up with as well as all you girls!!

    Love n hugs all!! Chrissy

Congrats Sue - sounds like a lovely night :-)

Kate - once you have met everyone in person it will be easier to not confuse everyone! Very jealous of everyone getting together. I'm not even getting to go to my 30 year school reunion being held in NZ at the beginning of next month...

    Hello all

Racy - yes I knew ACT had the highest dx rate in Australia - I discussed that with my bs when I was dx 2 years ago.  ACT also has the highest rate of survival - which is good to know.  DH and I have been trying to work out why it's so high in the ACT, he thinks it's because there are so many female office workers and that must have something to do with how bc is caused.  I don't agree as every capital city has lots of female office workers.  I think it's just that ACT has a lot of transient workers.  People come here for a year or three and then move on to other cities,  so we don't have the same "stable" population that other cities have and that has screwed the stats somehow.

Kate - good to hear from you lol glad you are enjoying your job and thanks for the congrats.  We are getting quite a few enquiries at the moment - we just have to convert them to bookings.

Aly - yes Melbourne's weather is impossible to predict - you have to plan for everything - in one day!  Enjoy your stay.

I'm really looking foward to Brissy too.  I did call Oaks in Margaret Street - they can do 2 bed apartments with 4 single beds, but I didn't ask about 3 bed apartments.  I did that a little while ago.  So Linda - if you are still happy to share with us - and Kylie are you still coming?? You two need to let us know if you want a room to yourselves or are happy to share (Kate and I are happy to share a room NOT A BED lol) once I know I'm happy to ring around and get some prices and we can all decide.

I'm excited today too - my brother is coming to Canberra and we are going out for dinner tonight before I do a theatre photography shoot for "War of the Worlds" (which is the musical), can't wait for 4.00pm this afternoon lol

Hi everyone, I have been reading but not posting.

I wont be able to make it to Brisbane after all. I have too much going on down here to get away and financially it is beyond us at present.

Bummer that I will miss it.

    Hugs, Kylie

That's ok Kylie - we'll miss you, but understand.  Hope you are going ok?

Well that sounds like we can still get a two bedder and Linda can have a room all to herself - especially as she's bound to be out partying to all hours lol.  Linda, Sue, Racy - is Oaks on Margaret Street a good location for us?  I'll call and find out how much it is if it's ok.  Otherwise - please suggest other areas and I'll research costs.

I highly recommend an evening at the Jazz Club! It's a 3 minute free ferry ride across to Kangaroo Point where it is. Seat at your table costs you $25 then you pay for drinks and food like at a club/casino. Drinks are really reasonably priced. If you do look at booking I suggest booking a table further from the stage - that way you can listen and chat at the same time.

Trish, Margaret Street is a fine location. I think that Oaks is down on the corner of Market St? It is, say, 10 mins walk to centre of town but it is level. Handy to the riverside restaurant precinct.

On the radio they said the higher rate of bc in ACT may be due to affluence, higher education and women deferring, reducing or abstaining from child bearing and breast feeding lol.

    Better get ready for work....

Thanks Racy - hopefully Linda will let us know if she's still sharing with us, and I'll ring them and get some rates.

Jenn - you might not believe this, but I'm not really into jazz.  I have a very sophisticated ear for music and having been classically trained and teaching music, that makes me the ideal person to love jazz, but I just can't get into it lol.  Others might like the idea though, if so, I always go with the flow.

I'll forgive you Trish ;-) I'm sitting in bed this morning listening to my clarinet jazz playlist from Spotify. I love the mellow woody timbre from clarinet...

I'll go with whatever the consensus is. I like jazz as well as all genres of music. So whatever is decided I'm happy to go along with.

Blocked the lace I was knitting ........it turned out okay but I need to expand the pattern and make it bigger as this one is mantilla size not shawl size. Oh well it makes a very nice scarf......lol. There is a pick on FB.

    Have a good night all!

I enjoyed our get-together at the casino. The restaurant was nice and then we adjourned to an area with comfy couches to relax and talk. It is good that we could do both at the one venue.

I'm easy too. I like good old Jazz, but the old fashioned kind with lots of brass and swing. Can't relate to the really modern stuff. I don't mind where we meet up. Casino is pretty central from memory. Trish whatever accommodation you find will suit me. Where you go I go.

Not working today as I've done my three days. Gee I love this part time work. Sarah is coming down for the day so I'd best get cracking and get the place in order. Have a good day everyone. xx

Received a copy of my surgery report in the mail today. Too much information for me I think, and as a trial coordinator I am used to reading patient reports...

I was feeling pretty good this morning and now I know that I've had parts of my 3rd rib dissected and removed to get at the mammary veins I'm feeling paranoid and tight in the chest :-/

I've put the report away and am attempting to blank it out ;-)

Jenn - yes sometimes some information is too much information when we are reading about us!  This too will pass xoxox

I went to a local theatre group's dress rehearsal last night, it was for War of the Worlds, wow!  Amazing the music, lights and special effects are just amazing.  I took a heap of pictures, have posted the one's I'm allowed to without infringing copyright laws on our RT Photos facebook page for those of you who are interested.  For those of you who haven't "liked" us - you can get to the fb page easily by going to our website (www.rtphotos.biz) and clicking on the fb link - please "like" us while you are there :-)

Tired tonight coz of the late night last night, and was in a workshop all day for work, and the rain is pelting down outside and it's the sort of sound (on a tin roof) that makes you sleepy lol

Hope everyone has a good night.

Yes, congratulations Sue in your 35th wedding anniversary...wonderful achievement :)

The holiday is going along great...

We spent 3 days in London & did all the tourist stuff. I caught up with my uncle, Auntie & cousins that I haven't seen in 48 years!!! We then drove out to Windsor Castle....that was totally amazing...could have spent a whole day there just wandering around the gardens!!

We've now just spent the last 2 days in The Cotswolds which is possibly the prettiest place I've

    ever seen.....just like a post card :)

Heading a bit further North tomorrow & hoping to get to Newcastle/Whitley Bay by Sunday where I was born & catch up with another uncle.

Having a wonderful time & will keep you all posted.....hugs to everyone ((((hugs))))

    Karen x

PS I would post pics if I knew how!!!!

Karen good to hear from you - so glad you are enjoying yourself over there.

With regards to posting pics - I've done it a few times and it's pretty easy - but either Sue or Chrissy are good at explaining how to lol

We've had some pretty amazing weather here over the past couple of days - so cold and so much rain.  Kylie - you must be under an inch of snow, judging by the weather reports!?  We've missed out - it seems to be all the north of Canberra and all the way up to the Qld border. Everyone's saying how unusual this is - but my mx was 2 years ago on Sunday and my second day in hospital I looked out my window and there was snow falling! So it happens more than we realise I think.

Hope everyone else is dry and warm

    Trish

Karen, sounds like you are having a fantastic time.

Trish it is pouring rain here, but 10km away there is 6inches of snow. Unfair, I would have preferred the snow. DD and hubby got to see it.

Jenn, I hope your report doesn't stress you too much. Yes, knowledge can def. be a scary thing.

Just edited to say DD sent me a photo of her yard completely covered with snow. x

hey Girls, i went to doc re: these headaches i have been having, since the night i went to A&E and he thinks its what they call cluster miagrains, how ever he does not know so has faxed a letter to a nuerologist stating i am a BC patient and would like him  to look into  to rule out Brain mets. etc. he does think so, as its one that makes my eye water on one side, but he wants to be thorough and leave no stone un turned, i should hear back soon. he said, you can't under estimate BC, just takes one rogue cell to go off  on its own and start up somewhere else in spite of treatment, so he is been cautious and taking it very seriously. he went and had a conflab with his collegue to get confirmation as this doc is good with this kind of problem and how to treat in mean time. My B/P was 162/102. very high for me, but it maybe i am stressed and i have to in next two weeks go and get nurse to do it and record to see if itsa one off or a pattern of things to come.

Just watched the oldest nz breast cancer survivor, she turned 100 today i think. wow, and they did not have Chemo and all the modern help we do. she was a very fortunate lady and very strong i guess. quite inspiring really. wonder how they treated them in those days. i guess they probably did not have rads either. gosh.  the mind boggles.

Midnight they did radical mastectomy only and hoped for the best. That's all my SIL had and she is still free 30yrs later. Good that you are getting tithe bottom of those headaches.

Karen the easiest way to get your pics on here is to put them into a album on FB and then just copy paste using the little tree in the post box. PM me if you need more detailed instructions. So glad you are having such a good time and I'm as jealous as hell!.........lol.......wish I was there with you.

We didn't get snow but boy did we get some hail!!! Snow did fall at Hallet which is about 20 kms away but it sure was cold!......brrrrrr! Today the sun was out and beautiful but still cool.

    Have a good one all!!!

    Hi all

Midnight I used to get bad migraines up to 3 times a week but since being on tamoxifen I don't get hardly any. Apart from yesterday and today, I just couldn't get rid of it, this has been my first 2 day headache in ages. I have been sleeping heaps better since tamoxifen so I think that's why I haven't had as many headaches.

The weather over here has been warm, it's supossed to rain the next few days, but no-one here complains as we need lots more rain.

I have just started 2 weeks holidays, will just be staying at home and gardening etc.

Hi, Aussie, they are very dabilitating are't they,  my sister was quite adament that the tamoxifen is behind it, but my doc said,  as tamoxifen is hormone therapy it would be more likely to be all over the head, not just the one side, but he does not know, so he is checking it out just incase. he thinks that these  are cluster miagrains and they supposed to very bad with pain, all miagrains are horrible. makes you feel so miseable. my eye waters alot on the same side too, which makes him think they are cluster headaches. i hope yours goes away Aussie. and you don't start with them again, glad you are sleeping well and tamoxifen is not doing too bad with you, its has not been too bad on me either.
