I do not know what makes some people tick, just read a horror story about this farmer, who has been convicted of animal abuse, he broke the tails and legs of at least 25 of his  herd of cows, by beating them with a steel pipe and they have had to destroy those animals as the factured legs have got i fected, broken hocks and  broken tails and they are extremely disressed. now how cruel is that? he has got home dentention for ten months.  what a prick?

OMG Midnight! If I were on the bench I would have given him a sentence of the same thing he did to those cows! How absolutely terrible......those poor cows!

yes Chrissy. it is terrible, you know it makes a thing for farmers too as people read it and thinks it is what all farmers do. you know the cruelety that goes on in this world is mind boggling, Poor inocent animals and kids. and anyone in general really,  people who can't defend themselves and same with animals.  if i was on the bench, they would get thrashed and then thrown into prison and far as kid go, the inmates take good care of them, kiddy rapist and killers and elderly people, yes they really get tormented, even  tho they are bad eggs, abuse of kids is so not tolerated. Beating the back legs of the poor cows with a steel pipe is torture. GOD what next?

Hope Aly & Chrissy are having a great time.

lmao I may or may not have a "cure" for us all on Thursday. The owner of the Health Shop a few doors from mine came to see me today. Apparently a little while ago she went along on one of their Health seminars and met a lady who she has now booked to come to her shop for half hour bookings ($45). Crystal Healing  including Chakra and Energy Balancing lol.

My friend has talked all of us shop owners into purchasing a healing each so that the whole area of our shopping centre can be steeped in good chakra or something like that lol. Ordinarily Id be thinking scam, but the owner said she had it done I think a year ago and at the time she was at the end of her tether and ready to divorce her husband. She said she could literally feel herself feeling better while the crystals were at work and when she went home that night her husband had completely changed. She realised it was herself that had changed somehow and they have been fine ever since. As a side note she said she lost 7 kg's really quicky and easily after that and that the lady had told her the weight was hurting her overall wellbeing. (not sure of the how's and whys on the weight loss as I had a customer come along and sent my friend away)

I figure if this lady can heal my emotional and physical wounds, she's a miracle worker Laughing and well worth $45 hehe. I was told you dont tell her anything, she does her thing and tells you whats wrong and it goes from there.

I'll report back on Thursday as to whether the emotional scarring from my divorce, the bc, tough financial times etc suddenly eases and I feel on top of the world. My friend vouches for her, said the emotional and physical healing she underwent was remarkable so  at the very least it will be interesting and at the worst, I will have thrown $45 away.

    Hi all!

Linda make sure you don't forget to Let us know how the crystal healing goes.........any results will be interesting.

Aly is not here yet, not until Monday week, she has four days in Melbourne before getting to Adelaide and then a couple of days touring the Barrossa Valley before she gets to me. I'm so looking forward to her arrival!! I will definitely post pics.

I have had a quiet day knitting. I have started the shawl for my DD. I also decided to add tiny little seed pearls the same cream colour as the silk. So far so good, I think it will turn out looking okay and the pearls will just give it a little more oomph. I decided to double the pattern to make it big enough.........hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.....lol

Off to my nieces engagement party tomorrow so I need an early night.......don't know if that will happen but I will try......lol

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

    Love n hugs! Chrissy

yea it rained buckets Trish, we were already for the bunnys this time and got them all under good shelter. they woulda been totalllt drowned, as section is flat as. but oh boy it did rain and cold as and the dam dog keep swiping the blankets, and i am talking about the dog, not hubby lol, he does too. she is heavy and you go to pull the dam blankets and do you think she will move. NA, just looks at you with a i am not moving look, quite obstinate really. Linda do not know how you cope with the five on your bed if thats where they sleep. bad enough with two. its kinda of us fitting in with them, rather than them fitting in with us. and they would not have it any other way. well chrissy i do hope when Aly gets to you she will have had a lovely time already and rested up well as you two wouldhave some pretty late nights, catching up. Everybody have a good wekend, whats left of it, its one oclock here already. we were laying in til 10.30, so kinda takes your day up doing that, but can't work all the time.

    Hi all.

Melbourne turned on a superb day and tomorrow is supposed to be hot. We have walked for hours today, had coffee with a friend I haven't seen for years and did a bit genealogy which we will continue tomorrow.  Must say yesterday was cool. We did go for a wander to Lygon St once we got into town after taking two hours to get out of the airport, it couldn't cope with five planes landing at once. Actually it was chaos out there.

Great to hear from you Alyson and glad the weather is good there. Lygon Street is great for Italian food.

Take the free city circle tram or red bus if you can.

Hi again, I'm sorry I'm trying to learn how this forum works. After my 3rd lumpectomy I needed to go for a mx after all. That happened on the 25th sept. I start chemo on the19th oct. My drains ate still in. Can't wait for them to come out. It seems we have a long road of tx ahead. Chemo, Herceptin then tamoxofen.

I have recently found that there is a strong family history on my mothers side.

I see rad Onc today as they seem to want to start radiation after chemo. Yay. My port went in last Monday, so already for fri. Thanks for welcoming me.

    Hello Melmax

You poor thing, so many surgeries, hopefully that's all finished for now.  Yes - just ask Jenn - getting drains out is what we all look forward to :-)

What chemo will you be doing?  Do you know yet?  Many of us have or are doing Herceptin, it's a long road, but once the actual chemo is finished, Herceptin isn't that hard if that's any comfort to you.

I have driven through Narellan many times.  We used to live in Wollongong and would go visit my brother in Lithgow.  Which hospital do you go to?

It's a glorious day here in Canberra today - and will be a warm one for a change.  I've been to the chiro so now feel all relaxed and my back feels great!

Hope you all have a good one, and Melmax - don't hesitate to ask any questions about your treatment, we'll be here for you.
    Trish

Melmax - it's a date!  I don't go up there as often any more, but will certainly let you know when I do.

I agree with Linda - take your mobile number off here - it's too public.  I've put your number in my phone now so have it.

You have a long road ahead of you - but I've done the same chemo regime - as have a couple of others - we'll help you through it!

Hi Melmax, wishing you well on Friday, I don't call into the forum often as I'm 10 years out from diagnosis, but had similar regime to what you will have... had a mastecomy, chemo (4 x AC 4 x Taxol) then 6 weeks rads and 12 months of Herceptin after that ... look after yourself and try to have some of your fav meals pre made so you don't have to wait to eat...I found that really helped as if I waited for the food to be prepped I'd have gone off it:)

Melmax, don't be too worried about Friday.  You should be given lots of anti nausea meds to help with the FEC.  I took everything they gave me when I was supposed to and never threw up once.  I felt a bit queasy from time to time, but never bad.  It's easier to stop the nausea before it actually starts, so if you wait until you are actually sick before taking the meds, it's a lot harder to stop.  I also found that jelly beans helped my tummy a lot too.  Not just eating them, but sucking them so they last a little while.  It keeps something in your tummy and the glucose helps a lot.  I got the ones from the chemist as they seem to be bigger and jucier lol.

I had some taste changes on FEC too - but nothing too extreme, but it did put me off my food for a while.  Drink lots of water - and then drink some more.  You have to flush the "E" part (can't remember the chemical name, but Jenn will know) out of your bladder.  It's the red one and the one that makes you lose your hair.

Let us know what time you are going in, and we'll all be there with you holding your hand :-)

Jenn - how are you going now?  I've been thinking of you (((hugs)))

    E = epirubicin

    Hi Melmax and everyone...

Melmax just remember your med staff are doing this "for you" not "to you". FEC sucked and I felt crappy with it, but even though it was only earlier this year I seem to have already forgotten fine details. As Trish said - take the nausea meds on schedule and don't be afraid to tell them if what you are getting is not working. I found that Zofran wafers, in conjunction with a drug called aprepitant and the dexmethasone worked best for me. Drugs like stemitil and maxalon did NOTHING.

I think the FEC info at this link is really good and very realistic in terms of what to expect: http://www.cancernet.co.uk/chem-fec.htm

I am recovering slowly. Still relaxing at home this week and still taking pain meds but not as regularly now. Tony went back to work yesterday and I have a friend from Melbourne staying to help this week. We booked ourselves nail treatments today - I desperately need a pedicure...

I am still not able to stretch my abdomen to walk completely upright but it's getting better everyday. Have to make the trek into the hospital on Thursday for an onc appt and my 3 weekly Herceptin. I think this could be a challenge with walking the distances...

Follow-up appt with PS is on Monday. My abdominal incision (WOW, its looooooong) is healing well. My radiated breast incisions are basically healed and my incisions on my other breast are lagging a bit behind with a couple of little spots still not totally sealed. Interesting that everyone worried about the cancer/radiated side healing but its done the best! I actually think the small amount of radiation I did before quitting toughened it up a little in a good way.

Trish, loving your photos on FB.

Mel, hugs for Friday. I have PM'd my mobile and if you need any help I am not far away.

Sharon, it's great to hear good news.

Way to go Racy, that is fantastic.

We went to a Girls Night In on Sat. night. It was dear to my heart because my DD talking about last years event was the cause of me finding my BC.  They raised over $18k which was wonderful and it was a great night.  This time last year I could never have imagined dancing again.

Finally went and saw my gp yesterday. Got referred for a back xray which I did this morning. They did the 4 and then made me go back in for another one, lying down this time. Dont like the sound of that, but hopefully its just degeneration from my scoliosis and nothing more sinister. Now Ive got to wait,if its somethign sinister I will be called to make an appointment and if its not sinister, i guess I will wait till i see my BS next month after the mammo & us (annual). Either way i hope I can get a definate action plan on my back cause its fine and then suddenly it can be agonizing for a week at a time and its hard to work and plan for my shop in that shape.

Other than that all going well and im enjoying a couple of days off work before the renos in my centre are complete and business gets busy.

Congratz on the all clear Racy, I love that news

Good onya Kylie, its wonderful that you have recovered so much that you can get back out there enjoying life.

Jenn, glad to hear your constantly improving. Wont be long now before your up to your usual pace Im sure. Still happy with the girls?? Have they gone down any in size?

Hope everyone else is going well and enjoying their week.

    Hi all

I have got an appointment tomorrow at Royal Perth Hospital, it's a special thing they have their about breast reconstruction. I go on another site based here in Perth and the nurse on the site works there and does the hour long meeting. I was chatting to her about my disappointment with Plastic Surgeon at SCGH and she said that he is the best PS in Perth? He wasn't happy because I wanted an implant not the DEIP.

Now I don't know what to do, if he's the best should I get the DEIP? Hopefully will be able to decide tomorrow. In the meeting they go through pictures of different procedures and give out lots of info so will be getting lots of information hopefully to make my mind up. They also link the 2 hospitals and RPH can get my info from SCGH so that's good.

Jenn, how sore is your stomach?

That's whats putting me off from DEIP.
