Hope all goes well ladies and yes they discovered I had a brain as well which was surprising. Of course when we say something is not right to the docs the immediate thought is cancer but they just have to check it out.

Chrissy hope your arm goes down real soon.

    Big hugs to all.

Aly, I've made an appointment for tomorrow morning with a therapist in Clare so hopefully I will get some relief.  I'm also going to check out the fitness centre while I'm there and maybe join if they have on offer things that I can paticipate in.  You never know, I might just end up gorgeously trim and fit! (in my dreams)............lol.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Sorry, blondes do indeed seem to have more fun... We have been out for dinner 2 nights in a row! Last night with our son's girlfriend and her family to celebrate them finishing their HSC exams and tonight with my BFF and her family for her birthday. We have known each other since we were 10 years old - 37 years ago...

My new iphone arrived today so I have it plugged in synching updates etc. It's white and pretty 📱🌟

Chrissy, I hope you get some improvement soon!

    Hi all

I've had migraines for about 10 years and since surgery I had not got any. I was told by a Nurse that it was probably because of the Tamoxifen, that the estrogen was causing the headaches. Now the last month or so I've been getting headaches again, I usaully wake up with a headache which is strange as I get a good nights sleep. I woke up with one this morning and could not get rid of it.

i have to go and have this blood test today, 2 working days b4 the MRI, then i am going out with hubby in truck today. need to get out of house for day.  the fifty acreas we have been leasing for 2 years ens at end of month, we took over care of dog that the owner did not have time for, he has a motel, and he wasnt looking after him. we brought him home about 3 weeks ago as the guy could not have him at motel. Patch became very unwell last evening, we took him to emergency vet, he collasped on us, so we had to carry him in, he is a big dog, border collie, but vet said, he was unlikely to pull thru the night and so we put him to sleep. if we left him there, he would be on his own and that would be horrible, he went quietly in hubbys arms, head on lap. told his previous owner, he more worried abourt the final power bill being paid at the property, he was sad i think, but i think patch was a pain in the arse to him. he did say that he was glad we took him, rather than he go to somebody else he didnt know. he was  so placid, a lovely sweet doggy. he is going to go next to shadow at the farm that we lost on the road a little while ago.  Poor patch, at least he had a good time while he was here. never mind, its  sad. but he at Rainbows bridge too now. Vet said, she thinks he had a heart attack.

hi everyone. jenn sorry to hear about your head problems, and so sad about patch midnight. chrissy hugs to you for you arm and welcome home karen. pls excuse no caps but i am one finger y

typing i dont like this little notrbook for typing, so correction

    ion is out the window!

i had my mammogram yesterday. i couldnt see any thing similar to what was there last year so hopefully its all ok. bloody hurt though on the sick side as its still tender. the radiologist commented that it was a lot warmer than the right one and i told her at night if i lift my arm up in bed i get a pulling sensation in my arm pit and she told me it can take 2 years for the tissue to recover from radiation, so i think ive got a while to go before it returns to normal.

sarah is now getting married i april!!!! she has a small window of opportunity then, otherwise 2014, so everything now is at hyperspeed. good thing paul is earning well in his job so that we will be able to contribute. 6 months ago it would have been a different story.

girls 1 month today till brissy!!!! to say i am excited would be an understatement. love to all xxxxx

Grrrrr! For some reason this thread got taken off my favourites list.........I really hate when that happens!! I'm thinking Gremlins!!!! Huh!!!!

Hi Lolalee! Hope all goes well with your surgery and you heal well with no complications. It's scary and exciting all at once but I know you will be getting to the stage you just want it done and dusted! Good luck!!!

Yay Kate!! At least I get a bit longer to plan a wedding.........boy you sure do have short notice!! Anyway I sure hoe it all goes smoothly for you.

Went to the physio today for some work on my lymphodema arm and I must say that tonight it feels better, still there but better. I will be seeing her again on Monday. I have decided also to join the Strength for Life classes at the Clare community centre but I need a physio assessment before I can do that so I will be seeing a different physio (the one I saw doesn't do that work) on Tuesday. I'm actually looking forward to it and hopefully will loosen up these old joints so I don't creak so much when I walk.....lol. Besides, it will get me out of the house three times a week and interacting with other humans instead of my computer.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

lolalee - which surgery and centre did you end up choosing? Good luck, and let me know if you need anything...

Had my 3 weekly Herceptin yesterday late afternoon. Between Tamoxifen giving me muscle cramps (calfs, stomach) and H giving me bone and muscle aches I woke up just hurting all over just before :-/ I have to spend this whole weekend studying and I just feel like curling up in a ball and crying. Stupid cancer...

I am at the stage where I have started having whole days where I just feel normal and forget that about the cancer. Then I remember and tear up. Maybe I need to make an appt with the onc psych again...

Oh Jenn I so wish I could put my arms around you and give you a great big ((((hug)))). Your body has been to hell and back in a short space of time but it will get better......I promise. Right now it sounds like a visit to the onc psych would be a good thing. I think we all understand just how you are feeling.

Midnight the drainage that was done yesterday sure has helped a lot!! The pain has halved so for me that really is a good thing and I'm looking forward to seeing the therapist again on Monday. I'm determined to get this well and truly sorted before going to Brusbane.

Take care all and have a good weekend.

Jenn - you have to wait until your treatment is done before you can start to move on. It's gradual but you eventually start to put it behind you.

I have been wondering about something to do with cancer and what you girls think.  Do you think that if your parents have had cancer of something different to what you have. for eg. my dad died of Pancreatic cancer and another family with bowel cancer and my sis had bowel cancer when she was young and nearly died with it, but got well and now now ned. They say cancer is a disease of the body, where ever it is found, thats what my onc told me. mine was in breast. do you think it can be passed down, even with different cancers  or alot can contribute to lifestyle choices. my dad had a very sweet tooth and loved things like Pav, lemon merangue pie and he used to drink the highlander condensed milk used for salad dressing. the pancreatic  cancer made him diabetic, and he sneaked one day some pav at a function he was at, while stepp mother was not around, and she caught him and went yp behind him and said, what do you think you are doing Linsay Roy(his name) and he got such a fright, the PLATE OF PAV WENT FLYING, lol, in the end the plate of pav would no of mattered, he was already gravely ill. could his food choices made him more suseptible to it, or was he destined to get that horrible thing. its just something i have wondered about. my DH loves Mellow puffs and bloody V drink, i said, it will kill you, its terrible stuff for the gut and full of sugar. breast cancer i think can be hereidtry, but not always. any thoughts ladies.?

Midnight - most of my father's family in NZ and he himself died from cancer. I had the BRCA testing done and was not positive. There may be other genetic factors, but they do not have any test for them yet.

Hi everyone, Chrissyb did you see the current affair programme where Macquarie Hospital were using liposuction for the treatment of lymphodema.  They had before and after pics of a patient and the results were incredible, her arm, hand and fingers were extremely swollen however after the lipo treatment it was almost normal.  Not sure if they are still doing trials on this particular treatment but if the results are anything to go by this will be revolutionary. Can't say that I have heard of this treatment outside Australia.

Thanks Jenn I will PM you with some details. So sorry to hear your treatment is causing so much suffering.  Bc brings even the strongest to their knees but hang in there things will get better.

Midnight I think some genes are hereditary but most of all it is down to sheer luck. A young friend of mine was having cancer treatment in Canada, she had lived most of her young life on a farming property.  She commented that on route to the hospital she passed homeless people living rough, drunks and others whose diets would have been less than favourable and there she was at 35 living a very healthy life and being treated for throat cancer.....so go figure!  Cancer makes no sense and it is so varied and it will do as it wants, I suppose this is why it is so difficult to find a total cure.

Jenn, definitely see the psych onc plus you need to deal with your muscle aches. Try a naturopath that specialises in bc plus a physio. There are supplements to treat these issues. Your cancer centre should be able to refer you.

Midnight, pancreatic cancer can strike anyone, just like bc. I had no family history to speak of :-(.

It was my 1yr since diagnosis  yesterday. I feel good that a year has passed but it was a pretty freaky day. We went out to brunch and I felt like I should have had a cake and candles...

Kazzie, it sounds like you had a wonderful time. Good news with your results. You may fall down with tiredness anytime soon.

Lolalee, all the best wishes for your operation. Thinking of you.

Jenn, sending you giant but gentle hugs. You have just had another major op plus herceptin. My onc told me the side effects from tamox often take two or three months to hit which would be about now.

I put it up there with the comments of 'everyone gets breast cancer these days' that there is an expectation from people that it is all no big deal and our lives physically should be the same. You are working and studying Jen and should be proud of what you have achieved, and some days I think we deserve a big round of applause for getting out of bed in the morning.

    Hugs to everyone, Kylie xxxx
