Hey, what good news that is. good news for 2013. very happy for yr result. you can take a extra breath for the relief you must feel right now Angela. Well done girl. yay.
They say we live and learn, we had pork chops last night, well i as alot of people do enjoy the outside fatty bit on the outside of chop, welli did suffer, didn't I, heart burn, and burning in the esophegus. man, i should by now know that i should not eat that kind of stuff, its my fav part, i wish you could make it that it not so fatty, my guts has not been the happiest, i had muslie this morning as i did not feel like toast, with the butter, my old liver not liking the work it has to do after i eat that. but hubby said, he will cut it off b4 it goes on my plate next time andf give it to the dogs, he is good,he does not eat fat of any kind, even the skin off the chicken, he likes the sweet stuff, chocalate, mellow puffs, the V drink. his tummy is probably stuffed from all that over the years. i do eat alot of raw greens, alf alfa, mung beans etc, salmon. but i do like those fatty food too and my body don't like it.
Hope you guys are all ok and having a great day.

lol its like getting a self inflicted hangover after being on the booze lol feel free to laugh, as its so dumb, i know what it does to me, or sitting out in the sun in hot temps without sunblock, you know you are going to feel it later and boy you do. well hubby will get rid of that part of the chop b4 i get to it. hope you enjoyed yr lollly cake, even tho you got a head ache.

lol Liv you reminded me, I had bought an enormous packet of chips for DH's birthday that never got opened (I forgot I had it lol) so I took it with me to a picnic we had on Christmas Eve. It didn't get finished only about a quarter of it eaten, so took it home again. We kept nibbling at the bag all day, so I threw it in the bin at the end of the day - as I could see we'd still nibble on it forever - honestly it was humungous.
I felt pretty good throwing all that food in the bin, I gotta say - better there than on my hips and tummy lol

Great news Angela!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We finished off the last of the ham yesterday and I'm still working my way through the Christmas pudding... I am not throwing it in the bin! I love Christmas pudding...
Jenn0 -
Lol Jenn, me too. have you ever tried that sago plum pudding. just like the normal plum pudding, but its very moist. Mmm have not had it for years, but by gosh, that was soooo good. I think the sago is soaked in milk over night and then the pud made next day. lol i do not like fruit cake, but i enjoy the plum fruit puddings. my grandma used to put 5 cents pieces in it, as a kid, that kool. don't know if that done now. you enjoy yr pudding and farewell to that lolly cake Liv and those chips Trish, wish i did that to that fatty edge of the pork chop.

Angela.....that is FABULOUS news......you must be feeling pretty pleased right at this point! And yes, it makes bald worthwhile!
I get my scans in 4 weeks, so fingers crossed my chemo is successful too.....
I had my week 2/cycle 2 Gemzar this morning & my white blood cells are still way down. They have to be 1 to be able to go ahead with chemo & they were 1.1.......just scraped in! The nurses were a bit concerned & telling me how careful I need to be over the next few days & take it easy etc......the onc only went ahead with it coz I said I felt ok! I don't really have any choice......chemo is the only option. I guess i'm just gonna have to keep an eye on my temperature & what I eat....prob stay home for the next few days. I'm thinking if i don't get through this cycle I"m gonna look at financing the Neulasta myself.
Chrissy......how are doing? (((((Hugs))))) Surrounded by your loving family I'm sure xxxx
Well, Liv's lolly cake is in the bin, Trish's bag of chips are in the bin, no more pork fat for Midnight & Jenn's nearly finished the Xmas pudding.......everyone will be so healthy it'll be boring....LOL
Take care lovely ladies....
Karen x0 -
Angela that is terrific news.
Karen - wishing lots of WBCs your way. It absolutely sucks that Neulasta isn't covered for you. Our govt has some very warped priorities.
Good news for me too. My mammo and US were all good, yay. Seeing onc tomorrow but happy with today's results.
We are a bit stressed though. Hubby has been having bowel bleeding etc etc and typically male ignored it until he couldn't walk today. Dr is very concerned so lots of tests coming up next week.

Angela what wonderful news.
Its back to Weight Watchers for me. Didn't go tonight but will track this week and see if I can make some difference. Want to lose another 5kg before the end of April. Liv,I love lolly cake I just can't have any around at all or I will eat it all.
Have been watching the tennis tonight, must go sometime.
Big hugs

Kylie - great news about your tests :-) Worrying about your hubby though. Men can be so stupid... My hubby has been having bone pain in one arm for weeks and finally went off to the dr yesterday after I had nagged him enough. Told him that any bone pain in me that lasted over 2 weeks would get me a scan, so why did he think he was different to me...
Jenn0 -
Chrissy, we're sorry to read about your Mum. Hope you'll let us join in the group hug from all of your BCO friends.
Angela, congratulations on your beautiful scans. What great news!

Angela, what wonderful news. Just so happy for you and your family.
Fingers are crossed you get great results too Karen.
Midnight, if the heartburn is from chemo, it should ease off over the next year or so. I very very rarely get it anymore.
I have a pantry full of junk food ladies, so doubt I will be joining you anytime soon in the weightless department. Figure it will last me months, though the packet of salt and vinegar chips I had for breakfast may not have been the best idea Ive ever had
Kylie happy you got the top results, but worried about your husband. Hope its nothing serious and that he's fine again in no time.
Lol Jenn, men are so hopeless. Your husband would be the first to get you off to the dr's if the pain lasted 2 weeks. Guess they just dont think.
Chrissy, thinking of you and your family. Hugs

Here's hoping 2013 is good to us all.

Morning ladies
Mods - I meant to say Happy New Year to you guys earlier! I hope you all have a fantastic year and thank you for your thoughts and wishes for us here down under.
Kylie - great news for you, but I'm worried about your hubby too, please let us know how he goes. If one of the tests he has to do is a colonoscopy, then tell him not to worry lol - the procedure itself is nothing, but the prep is a pain in the you know what - literally lol - have lots of loo paper.
Midnight, I meant to say earlier too (as Linda mentioned) heartburn can be an after effect of chemo - mine was bad for about 12 months after, now - I don't remember the last time I had it lol.
Linda - chips for breakfast!!?? lol I love your style girl!
Karen, will be keeping everything crossed for you too. It's going to be a good year this year!!
Chrissy - hope everything is going ok for you too.
I hope the heat isn't knocking everyone around too much. It's supposed to be 37 here today and 39 tomorrow - but I feel for everyone in Adelaide today 45!! Ouch! We will be going down to the South Coast tomorrow to do a wedding, I'm hoping it will be a lot cooler on the coast. We'll have to leave the dogs locked inside as I don't want to come home to another dog that's been killed by a brown snake. Our neighbour will be going over at lunch time to let them out to do their business and then put them back into the cool inside.
Have a good day everyone

Kylie - great news for you, I have been thinking about you...but now hubby, why do men put their heads in the sand?
Alison -I'm back to Weight Watchers next week too...I lost 20kg over 5 years ago and I'm determined to keep it off while going through my treatment. I've almost given up alcohol except for an occasional glass of wine so that has to help!
To everyone else -best wishes for a good 2013.....0 -
Hi ladies, i did not have chemo, i have Gord, Gastric oesophegistis reflux disease, thru i am not proud to say was from an eating disorder a few years ago, to see me now, you would not think so, but during that time, i did do abit of damage, self inflicted. and now i pay the price. I can't blame chemo for this one. i just have to be more careful what i eat and do not go over board. or refrain from the foods like pork chops fatty bits that i really like. I get a very acidy tummy too.
Kylie, i am glad for you and yr tests that they turned out good, and really hope yr hubby will be ok. Yes my hubby as an issue of a personal nature, he needs to address, but he is either frightened or thinks if he does it will mean he will be layed up and get something done, i think he is frightened it could be serious and does not really want to know. but i say you make sure, i go to docs and he says thats different, ?? MEN. think they are bullet proof, i nag too, dont do much good tho,
All other ladies, i hope you all doing ok. and having a good day. i am about to battle the outside and do something out there, have been stuck on this computer paying bills, do them on line, much easier. though some were well in credit, must of doubled up somewhere.
Chrissy, hope you ok, take care xoxo
Have a great day

Hello everyone, I had a little bit of drama yesterday. I noticed two red areas above and below the incision with a bit of ooze....yuck! The breast nurse was visiting anyway, so I was glad to get her opinion. Shee got onthe phone sraight away and got me an appointment with my GP. He thought it was just some infection to the skin edges, but decided to put me on antibiotics to be safe. I woke this morning and it was looking worse so I rang the Surgeon and he wanted me to meet him at his rooms so he could see it for himself. So off we go to Sale, which is over an hour drive from here. The temperature was 41c on the way there. He took a look and said that it is an infection, but just to double the dosage of the antibiotics. No problem with the fluid build up, not enough to drain. Thank goodness!
He then said he had just received my Histopathology which he printed out and gave me.
Long story short, 11mm Ductal Carcinoma In Situ- Intermediate Grade more than 15mm from nearest surgical margin.
Sentinal Node 10mm in diameter. The lymph node is entirely processed Section reveals no evidence of Metastatic Tumour or Metastastic keratin positive tumour cells.
Diagnosis:
Ductal carcinoma in situ, intermediate grade. No evidence of invasive carcinoma.
Surgical margins are clear
Sentinel Node: No evidence of Metastasis in Lymph Nodes.
It was worth the long hot drive just to receive this news. I wouldn't have known till my next appointment on the 14th Jan.

Ariom that's great news about your path report! Not such great news about your infection though.
No lymph node involvement yay!! No IDC yay! Clear margins yay!!! All sounding very good - you may dodge the bullet by the sounds of it and not need chemo either, will keep my fingers crossed that it's not HER2+

Thanks so much Trish. I am not even bothered about the infection now. I know it will be fine now I am on the big guns of antibiotics.
Can you believe I forgot to mention that he said, "no more treatment for you" "Since you had the Mx you won't need Rads, Chemo, or Tablets. Just six monthly checks with me"
I can't quite believe it yet.
