Hi ladies
I also have been reading but not posting. I enjoy seeing how everyone is going but often am happy just sitting by the sidelines.
We had a lovely Australia Day. My daughter had a BBQ with about 40 of her friends before they all start Year 12 on Tuesday. They are such a lovely bunch of kids, no trouble, even now we have alcohol in the mix. I'm lucky that both my kids have had great friends over the years.
They all ate, talked, danced and had a great time. So many thank you's from them, but boy are my feet sore. I think I'll surface about midday and start with a foot massage if I can find a willing volunteer. Not likely!
Hope everyone is feeling well
Cheers

Australia day –what a waste of tax payers’ money, serious money up in smoke!
that money could have gone to much better use throughout the whole of Australia.
might as well got a few million bucks and lit the barbie with it.
What about the nurses they deserve a pay rise, the pensioners boiling to death in those poky little one bedroom apartments, no air-conditioning?
Ive often thought elderly people who have never had the opportunity to learn how to use a pc that it would be a good idea if they could be subsidised and teach and set them up with a pc so they can interact with other people. And for those elderly that have cancer that have no support it would be fabulous for them to be able to join these forums. No we would rather burn our money!! That’s my rant for the day!
Anyways last minute we decided to go to go overseas for Australia day, rottnest island on the ferry, talk about spur of the moment friends had already booked accommodation and a couple pulled out so lucky me. brilliant day, plenty of vitamin d, had my my hat and sunblock on but still manged to get burnt..
Talk about young and free & stupid, bless them. on the way back half on board were over the rails throwing their hearts out.. a sight to see. Bet there a wee bit dehydrated.
Anglea – glad you had a beautiful day., great day for kids.
Ariom – great news, infection healing and free to get on with life for another 6 months., enjoy!
Mandy – keep at the yoga. like me, we will get there.
Midnight – those bloods lift and you be on your way again..
Noticed everybody is a bit run down, I was totally off all last week, a bit teary and tired.. hope, for all of us we have a better week. Perhaps it’s the anticlimax after xmas, who knows with cancer!!
Chrissy – my type of woman- late dinners and dishes, no dishes for me, just a plate... how about the tennis? little teeny bits of something exercise wise is gooooooood chrissy. Whats coming up on that damn telly of yours? don’t worry about the butt it’s too hard to work, and forget about running that’s for triathletes, not us.. never could run as have no co-ordination, feel likes my top half is being dragged along by my legs which don’t seem to know how to run. little bits ms chrissy, c'mon!jenn- enjoy the beach.
Suzie – hope you’re not too hot and resting ready for next week.. I still prefer the heat any day over winter – must have been reincarnated from somewhere hot, maybe india because I just love the heat and shrivel up and complain all the time in winter…now ive got cancer hopefully I will stop that damn winging in winter.
and everybody else.- enjoy the rest of the long weekend.
those bloody fireworks waste of money!!~~

Liv - no trouble with heat today - more like a cyclone. We've got the remnants of a cyclone moving south towards us - lots of rain and wind. I love it. Still a bit humid but the wind has now cooled it down somewhat.

suzie - like that sort of tropical overcast weather - hope it blows out and does no harm.

Anyone would think it's still a cyclone - feels like it

Hope your Holiday works out to be just wonderful Jenn, typical weather tho aye, you go on a holiday and you suddenly get a bad weather report for that area. well i hope that does not happen to you. yea making the bed and changing it, i just about have a sleep mid way. i get there eventually. It was so muggy here last night, half of the time i dont know whether it is the tamoxifen making me come out in a sweat or the weather being muggy, but i came out in big sweat last night, i went got a cold face cloth to dampen my face with. i feel like i am coming down with a cold. dry hacking cough and very sinuscy( dont if its spelt that way or even a word, but i will make a new one) lol, sinus??? and had headaches, which i am figuring is part of the low iron thing, which could of been resposible for my headaches all the long when i was having the tests before. dun no. feel like a walking disaster at times and I will stop being a grizzle bum. have a great day hugs,....p/s lol I dont know but it must be a real effort hitting that ball in tennis as those girls make a noise when they hit it . was just looking at the highlights. must be alot of effort hittin it. lol i dont hear the men doing that, is it a women thing? as they put their whole heart in those girls.

Dont know if i like that weather report in Queenland at the moment. suzie sounds like you are experincing tornado's etc and its making it's way down to NSW area as well. keep safe girls. Jenn hope you are going somewhere safe from this. please take care. hugs

Very cyclonic conditions - I've just been out - amazing how many people were out shopping. I drove very carefully and won't go out again.
0 -
Suzie, I am staying in today, except maybe go down the street to the gym a little later and maybe to Coles underground carpark, if it isn't flooded. I don't want to get caught up in a tornado.
I'm surprised people are out in this weather.

Yes...just got a text from a work collegue stuck on the Gold Coast....flights cancelled apparently. They had to be bussed to Brisbane and have a 6 hour wait for a flight. School holidays ending here in Melbourne this weekend and I guess a lot of people are trying to get home.
Total rain in Melbourne for January?...o.6mm!
Yep...stay inside Suzie and Racy!

You Queensland girls stay safe!!! You really are coping some bad weather conditions up there but if you get sick of the rain you can always send some down here......it is so dry everything is crispy!......UGH!!!!!

Just heard on tv a tree is down on a house at Lutwyche - not far from here. 4 people trapped inside. I'm scared of our big gum tree up the back. Decided I'll have a nap - my usual method of dealing with crazy weather - sleep through it
0 -
Oh Sue! I sure hope that tree stays put in the ground. Stay safe and I hope those people who are trapped are not badly hurt.
You are all in my thoughts!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Well, I'm awake - tree still standing and the worst of the wind seems to be over, now steady rain. I'll have to go out and drain the pool soon - I dont want to get wet!!!
0 -
At least if my memory serves me correctly, the rain is reasonable warm in comparison to down here..........I mean if you really have to get wet better there than here!.......lol. Glad to hear you and everything else is still standing!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Thanks Chrissy - the wind has really died down and the radar shows it's moving south. Hey, the water hasn't reached the top of the bricks yet. I was worried we'd lose power - roast lamb for dinner.

I am not going out today. Weather has been getting wilder with driving rain. Lucky I have shops downstairs if I need anything lol.

Ok - donned a raincoat jacket thingy and went out to back wash the pool, then scurried back inside while it ran. My hair is dry at least, but my shorts got a bit wet

Hi Mandy, you are another one that I thought was much younger!
I am very disappointed that the pool in our area, which was also a gym, has closed down. There was also a Pilates studio that I intended to go to, and that is gone too. I guess exercise is done at home here, or in the next big town which is about 15 minutes away. I guess there is a yoga studio there too.
I will be looking seriously at my options in the next few weeks. I know there is a Tai Chi group across on the Island. I did Tai Chi years ago, so that may be worth looking at.
We have had quite a lot of rain overnight, and the temp has dropped considerably. I just hope the fires are going to be extinguished. So many houses lost, so much sadness for families
Mother Nature is making her presence felt isn't she! All the best to those feeling the effects.
I hope you have a lovely time in Port Macquarie Jenn, and that there is enough sunshine to get out and about.
Hi Midnight, hope you managed to get a snooze in without a phone call! I have the same problem. Colin goes out sailing and has to call to see how I am. Usually about five minutes in to a nap. Not complaining either, it is nice to know they care!

Yummy suzie, yr dinner sounds yum, glad yr power still on and that the wind has died down. Racy good to be near shops when this kind of weather comes along. I wonder what chrissy is cooking up tonight for dinner lol. i am getting hungry as its seven thirty, we never eat early. hubby never home early and i like to eat with him, not good for weight issues eating late, mum keeps reminding me. yes i know, but that's our together time and eating alone not much fun and its to hot to eat too early, thats my excuse and will do for now. lol.
I wondered why little Dog heidi was so excited to be outside yesterday and sit next to our new white bunny, her little friend that we lost just recently on the road was white, she sat there next to the bunny all day and then got on her hutch and stayed there, i had to carry her inside about 8 last night. she must of thought it was her and trying to be friends with her, i don't think bunny very happy about that tho. but i have not seen that sort of excitment from little heidi since little BJ's demise. sad really for heidi and she is a little back to being sad. she must of realised it is not her friend. i know animals can grieve to.

Midnight I have had a piece of silverside in the pot all afternoon on a low heat so it will be as tender as. I dropped a few spuds in a little while ago and ill go steam some greens shortly........yummm.......it smells goooood!!!!!.......lol
Glad you didn't get too wet Sue......lol.
Ariom in order to get my exercise I have to drive and eighty km round trip......yuk!......but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.....lol.
Racy it's good to have shops so close.
DH just got home and wants to watch a movie before the tennis final starts. Catch you all later!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Oh my gosh Chrissy! That is quite a drive, and commitment. I am so used to living in the city where everything is so close. I need to get used to where I am now. The trade off is that I have to travel a bit to get what I need. I am still not driving any real distance, just around town, but I should be fine to drive the distance in the next couple of weeks.
I have a really good treadmill that is still packed away since the move, and an over the door weight system that may come in handy. I think I may have the treadmill installed in the family room so I can use that when I don't feel like waliking outside or the weather is bad.
I have my appointment for the fitting for my prosthesis and bras next Tuesday, so I may check out the exercise options while I am in Bairnsdale having that done.
Anyone know what is the usual time frame after surgery, and starting exercise? I guess I should have asked the Surgeon.
0 -
Ariom healing time for most things is about six weeks and then slowly build up to normal levels of exercise. Good luck with your fittings on Tuesday...........it can be a little emotional so be prepared.
Tea done and settling in for the final........don't barrack for anyone in particular, just looking for a great game.
Have a good night all and enjoy the holiday tomorrow.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Thank Chrissy, that 6 weeks mark seems to be it. I am just a little concerned about this Mondors. I know everything you see about it says that it will resolve its self. I will just ease into it as you advise.
Thanks for the heads up for Tuesday. I havent had any emotional moments yet, but I won't rule it out.
I think it's probably because of my Mum. I was involved in all her decisions when she was diagnosed, and then took her for all her appointments, fittings etc. I cared for her for 3 years at home before she had to go into care for Dementia so I was so used to that scar, and she had a wicked sense of humour about it.
Since my own experience, I have realised just how brave she was.

The leg of lamb was delicious as usual - good kiwi tradition
It still is windy - the rain seems to be passing but the wind has picked up - scary stuff.
0 -
Chrissy, I didn't realise that your mum had bc?
0 -
Racy it was Arioms mum not mine.
Glad your lamb was yummy Sue. Hope the wind doesn't cause you any problems overnight.
Enjoying the tennis here!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
thoughts with queensland - shocking - suzie, saw it on the news just horrific.
im all meditated up - 1 hour of Pilate's - stretched to the max.
now to really unwind all those stretches, a glass of red for the arteries.
