I just woke up and I am listening to Mother Nature wreaking havoc in Qld and NSW. My thoughts are with those people affected.

Racy and Suzie, I hope you are both coping with this terrible weather and the floods, stay safe.

I spent yesterday at the ER room with hubby, who told be that he had been suffering from indigestion for the past couple of days. I must admit that he did not look too good, so I immediately drove him to the Hospital. ECG appears good, but liver function test is questionable.Hubby, is having a lot trouble coping with my diagnosis, and it appears to be affecting his health, because he has not been well since November last year. He is diabetic and his blood sugar has been uncontrollable ever since November (when the GP told him that I only had weeks to live- and boy, did I prove him wrong already!!), however this week he appeared to have got it under control.  He will stay in for a couple of days at least for more tests and may get transferred to a larger hospital for further tests. The hospital is 110km round trip, so I will pop in after lunch today to get some more news.

I fell asleep watching the tennis, but the first two sets were great!

Chrissy, i hope you enjoyed yr silverside, sounded yummy, did you make mustard sauce, i used to also put carrots in with silver side and let them cook with it, that yum yum.

suzie, you sounded like yr tea was yummy too. I love  lamb, where hubby is more into beef.  well now the arguement next door has died down, i will go out side. mother and son that live there, one of there many. abit of  bad language from them both. he should be working, he is twenty and on the dole. i heard her saying, get a job or get out of my house. so he got hard word. the voices are elevated so you cant help but hear what they say and the dogs bark when there is  arguements. trying to shut them up. oh well catch yas later.

Thank you for your kind wishes, but I must tell you that I think that doctors are only human and they don't know everything anyway, so I am here to prove them wrong. Statistcis go back 5 years or more, so they are not current. 13 years ago, my best friend was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (somewhere in the abdomen) and she was only given 2 months. Anyway, they operated on her and miraculously she was cancer free for just over 5 years before it returned. She was again successfully operated on about 6 years ago (she was told that they did not get all of the cancer) and she is still as healthy as ever today, so statistics are only statistics and we are all different, so I am here to follow her footsteps.

Hubby just phoned and the doctor seems to think that he has some type of virus and they will be keeping him in for a little bit longer, so that sounds promising.

My thoughts really go out to everyone in Qld and NSW. Mother Nature definitely rules (but we are getting smarter lol.)

Thank you Liv, I have found my best friend to be such an inspiration to me over the past 13 years, so I hope that some of this may also rub off onto others.

The first doctor misdiagnosed me by not being aware of Inflammatory Breast Cancer symptoms, and in October last year, another doctor also misdiagnosed me, saying that I looked too healthy to request a chest X-ray even though I had an irritable cough and felt a little out of breath. (My oxygen level in my blood was 96% at the time and because I did not look sickly, he considered the risk of X-ray too high).  I sent them both feedback after getting second opionions, (objectively) so that they can be aware of their mistakes. They are all human and also make mistakes, so that is why I won't believe them anymore and I will just go with my gut feeling.

BTW, how are your eys? and when do you get your brain scan results?

Midnight, I have had no symptoms with my mets and continue to not have any, that is probably why I have a positive outlook. I had a very sore arthritic knee in May 2012 which I questioned and Bone scan confirmed arthric knee, but bone mets were found then.

When I had my pleural effusion in November 2012, I still looked and felt healthy, and I was still working 8 hour shifts as a personal carer. (I just had to sit down more often than normal and could not walk as fast as before, but thought that was due to age). When CT scan was done during my pleural effusion treatment, then the liver, lung and brain mets were discovered. MRI confirmed brain mets.

I think each time that I have been diagnosed, I have had a "gut" feeling that something was not right, however I was in disbelief whenever I was given the results. I think that I am still in disbelief lol. I hope that answers your question. I find talking about this aids my healing.

Thankyou for that. I am glad you are symptom free and can get on with life. Cancer is a sneaky sod, creeps up on you and you could be well in to it and not even know. I think Chrissy found her bone mets as she was achey in her bones and it was a pain you just could not shake off. poor lady was not so fortuante to be pain free and they say its really painful, bone cancer. You are inspirational. all you ladies are. well am going to have a nap now, heidi is out annoying the bunnies, barking at them. she is really trying to be freindly.but bunny is back kicking, so will have to get her in, she will get kicked in face as she puts her face right up to hutch and anyway i dont like her out there incase she gets on road, had enough animals killed on that dam road. catch yas later

Just finished cleaning the debri out of the pool - the bloody salt cell has died - it's a new cell, so I can only guess it's the box on the wall. Guess I'll have to work from home tomorrow and get it seen to or we'll end up with a green pool.

Mandy - it's not fair - I hate BC big time!!!

    Hello girls

Sorry - have been immersed in photo processing, but I'm slowly winning.

Mandy - I really hope your DH is feeling better soon - and good on you for proving the dr's wrong and still being around - I truly hope you are here with us for many, many years to come.

Chrissy and Sue - you have had lovely dinners, we've been eating stir fry - it's quick, easy and low in calories lol

I have been thinking of you all up in Qld, the news looks awful.  Sue - where we were, was the water up very high?  I wondered when I heard the river was rising. Racy - hope you are staying dry too?

Will keep you all in my thoughts.
    Trish

Trish it flooded the lower level apparanetly - not up where we had dinner.

    Hi all

My brother lives in Bundaberg and had some flooding last week with all the rain, front and backyard, luckily their on the other side of Bundy from the major flooding. I spoke to my sister-in-law and she said that she can't stop crying as it's upsetting to see what's happening.

Have just finished reading "Running Pink" great book about a breast cancer survivor.

Mandy, I hope your hubby is feeling better soon :-)

We made it to Port Macquarie today for our week of holiday. While all the traffic was banking up heading south we were amongst the few cars heading north into the storm! It was staedy rain and then pretty heavy rain every now and then. Hubby was definitely needing a rest after we arrived after driving through the rain.

Had a lovely evening at my cousin's place for dinner and now we are back at our 3rd floor apartment listening to the wind. They are saying this wind is over 100km/hr 😯. Our car is parked out on the street because it has the roof pod on and so we can't drive into the underground carpark - hope it survives the night without blowing away. Hubby is a bit worried about not being at home in case something goes wrong there. Oh well...

Tammy, have fun at the belly dancing, it's something I've thought of trying a few times, but I have way too much belly lol.

I seem to have a little room to breathe this week, no portrait shoots till the weekend, so plenty of time to catch up with so many things.

We saw a real estate person last week and signed the contract to put the house on the market.  Finally!  We've been saying for nearly a year now that we need to sell the house and move back into Canberra.  Now I just have to do all those things that need to be done to get it ready for sale.  Like washing windows, floors and a good clean up.  Why do we always seem to do these things when we have the least amount of time?!

Last week I thought our pump was packing it in, it sounded like there was air in the pipes when having a shower on Thursday morning.  DH had a look during the day  and it turns out there's nothing wrong with the pump - we have somehow managed to lose 35,000 litres of water out of the tanks!!! That's half our water gone.  The tanks were all full, and when we had our last rain they were overflowing.  It's been dry the past few weeks, and the ground around the tanks is dry, so the tanks aren't leaking, which means there must be a leak in the pipes going from the tanks to the pump.  So now we are getting the house ready to sell and half the back verandah has the pavers pulled up and looks a right mess!  Of course it's rained a lot since then so we can't tell where the leak is lol.  But there's lots of water going back into the tanks, which is good.

I hope you girls in Brisbane stay safe and dry.  We are getting some of your rain (nowhere near as much of course) and it's welcome, nearly 60mm in the past 2 days.

    Trish

Hi all. I have had a busy day and saw the oncologist today and we were both delightfully surprised. My tumor markers have gone down to 241.... Wahoo. Xeloda is working!!! I then had a lovely lunch with my old workmates from over 10 years ago (some of us have retired and some of them are still working). DH came home from hospital today and he has come off his cholesterol and diabetes medication for the next week, and this will be revised when he sees his GP on Tuesday. He looks a lot better.

So that was my good bit of news.

My thoughts are still with everyone up north and I hope everyone is safe.

Jenn, I hope the weather clears up so that you can enjoy a little bit of your holidays as I have fond memories of Port Macquarrie, but I think this may be a holiday that you will never forget due to the bizarre weather.

Mandy that is really great news for both you and your DH!!!!! Hoping the trend continues on both fronts.

Had my weekly massage today which always makes me feel better. Off to hydro tomorrow and then get my nails done on Thursday ..........of my! A woman's work is never done.......lol. Its about time I could treat myself and have someone else do it for me instead of me always doing it for myself......well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it........lol.

Jenn hope you get to enjoy some of your holiday........regardless of weather at least you are away from your normal routine and a change is as good as a holiday.

    Love n hugs all! Chrissy
