Hi all
I've got surgery tomorrow!!! I had a call from the hospital at 9.30am this morning saying they booked me in for expander surgery, a bit short notice. I'm on my 2nd week of holidays and raced down to work and asked for more, they were all great about it. When you go through the public hospital you have to take what you can get. I'll be in for 3-4 days, I'll get withdrawal symptons from not going on net.

Good luck Aussie! What hospital?
Jenn0 -
Hi Jenn
I am going to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, it's in Perth. I have to be there at 7am, not sure what time surgery is, I am waiting on a call from the hospital so I can get the rest of the details. I still need to pack and get everything organised. I just got a new mobile today so will have to sort that out soon too. So much to do and I'm just sitting here on the net, lol.

Wow Aussie that's great news! Good luck with it and hope you are not in too much discomfort when you return from theatre!
Karen hope your numbers are okay. I'm so glad you are not having any SEs from the Xeloda, no SEs is always a good thing.
Yay Trish! Getting recommendations from your customers is the best advertising that money can't but! You never know, maybe you will be able to give up a day or two with your other job sooner than you think. Oh, good luck with those people coming for a second look, that is always a good sign.
Annette and Moira I get reflux and have done all my life......it's such a pain at times but I have been prescribed proton? Inhibitors but they have caused me no end of troubles so I just watch what I eat and if I have a flare I take Zantac for a few days until it settles again.
Did hydro again today as well as the weekly shop and to put it mildly, I'm absolutely pooped!! Thank goodness hubby has volunteered to get pizza for tea so no need to cook tonight. I must admit that all this exercise is actually doing me some good as I find my fitness and endurance is beginning to improve so all this effort is worth it.....lol.
Love n hugs all, hope you have a good night. Chrissy0 -
aussie - it's a good hospital :-) I wish you a quick and easy recovery!

Give them a try Annette, can't hurt, and might give you some relief.
I never had asthma before I got this reflux thing either. Doctor tells me that it irritates the bronchial tubes.
I love brussel sprouts too, Hated them as a kid, but love them now.
Hi Karen, I feel like I have shares in that company too,, I have a packet in the car, the house, the handbag, beside the bed. I get touchy if I am about to run out. LOL
So glad to hear you're doing well with minimal se's. Hope all goes well tomorrow!
Hi Trish, your photography business sounds like it is really taking off. Word of mouth really makes a business!
Good to hear you are getting good turnout at your house too. I sold my house in Williamstown in March last year, I almost went craazy trying to keep it perect for the opens' and then for the auction. It is a really stressful thing, but when it's all done and you're settled in your new place. it's heaven!
Hi Chrissy, I hope all is well with you too. Are you planning another trip to see your sister? That sounded like a wonderful break.

Jenn I went to SCGH for mastectomy and all other treatment, I've been happy with everything so far. I have to be their at 9am and am 3rd in line for surgery, hopefully it will be around lunchtime. I have had a tidy up and just have to pack my bag, my last drink has to be at 7am so will make sure I have a big one !!!
I will try and sort out my new phone and might be able to post if not see you all in a few days.
Thanks all

Heading to the city for my regular GP appointment......gosh I hate having to drive all that way just to be told I'm doing fine but I guess it's better than the alternative.
I may or may not post again today but in case I don't, hoping that each and everyone of you are fine and doing the best you can under your particular circumstances.

Took Goldie to vet today, for spey, pedicure, microchipping, a lawful practice for any new reg dogs, and she is very whiney, will get her something to eat soon, she is abit leaky in the bladder too. she is a lovely golden and white colour, each one of Hollys pups were a different colour. they are a year old, all the girls are speyed except one who had pups and she had eleven and they all died, we can't say we are upset, as it would of been too hard to deal with right now, the two boys are still to be done, they said, they would give us a discount as 5 girls and two boys, yea they did, 75 dollars out of 1500 its going to cost us, better than nothing i guess. Goldie a little bit miserable at the moment and when we picked her up, we heard all about it in the vet waiting room. lol it was almost telling us that we were a pack of swines putting her through all this, other people in there were quite taken of how vocal she was. the vet went over to her and said, come on goldie, we weren't that bad. she had alot of things to say, if only she could talk.
Not too bad thanks Karen, i had some Quiche for breky on the way home from dropping Goldie off at vet, well that did not sit right, not for heart burn, but i had a pain under my ribs and in my shoulder blades which went for a couple of hours, its gone now, i ended up taking about 4 panadol at once , i know thats bad, but the pain was not pleasant either, so won't do the quiche thing again.
Trish, hope you get results with yr house interests, 2nd timers. sounds promising with a 2nd look.
well must be off, hubby will be home with Dog food soon and i must feed them, holly getting rowdy.
Nite for now.

Got the all good from the doc........I'm happy about that.....lol. He also gave me a referral for the osteopath for my twelve month check on my knee.......I can't believe it hav already been a year as it has gone so quick. He also cryoed a few sun spots and gave me a referral for a skin check with the Dermatologist........sigh!.........did any one mention that I'm really sick of seeing docs?!
I got to spend a couple of hours with my GS's which is always a pleasure. I learned that Jackson was interviewed and a photograph taken of his exhibition art work for the magazine SA LIFE........had go out and but one .....naturally.......lol.
Well the clock has just struck and told me its 4.00AM so I really think its time for me to be in bed.
Oh! Haven't heard from Aussie but not expecting to for a couple of days.......I do hope all went well with her surgery.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Yes Chrissy I di wonder what you were doing at that time of the morning.
Must get dressed as it is playgroup this morning. Had a really funny - enjoyable babysitting evening the other day. After giving the grands there tea and a bath any thoughts of a quiet evening vanished. DGS was not going to sleep as he had had a late sleep. DGD was great going to bed but DGS (aged not quite 2) decided she needed a cuddle, very sweet but not good. DGD appears grumpy but falls asleep on the sofa. DGS is full of beans, talks to grandad, chats about his train then said he is going to bed. Yes right, 10 minutes later he appears, his cot has just been changed to a bed! - Granny I woke up!!!. Walks down the stairs and steps on to the side of the sofa, looks at me with a cheeky grin and says 'Granny I jump' Remember DGD is asleep on the sofa. Get him down before he does. I read dozens of stories, play trains but cannot get him into bed. He was awake when his parents arrived back. Actually it was no hassle and we had a lovely evening. Nnot sure how long it took to get him to sleep.
Next part of the story was next day after kindy DD found DGD had nits - oh great fun. She has washed and cleaned everything. What fun children are!
Have a great day.

Chrissy, you keep late hours, or early morning hours lol, hope you get a good kip. we up late at times too, but i normally fall to sleep about ten and wake about one and can't go back to sleep. hubby has tea and nods off in front of tv,if he goes to sleep i leave him be where ever he is at as he has to get up at 4. I have cat naps during the day.
Alyson, your grandchildren sound full of beans, hope the little one got back to sleep eventually or even went to bed, they funny.
Hope Aussie ok and everything went well. ok guess have to get going here. will check in later.

Chrissy, I don't know how you do it.....I'm asleep by 9.30 - 10.00 LOL
Tonight we are VIP Guests at the Birds of Tokyo concert (my nephew Ian, is the lead singer!) & I'm going to have to have a nana nap this arvo so I can stay awake!!
Glad all went well at the doctors
Alyson, I do love your grandchildren stories, very entertaining & cute....you're very lucky
Saw my onc yesterday & all good so start back on cycle 2 of Xeloda today....scans in 6 weeks to see if it's working. I also asked the question about my prognosis!! I know everyone is different but they have an idea based on the type of cancer, rate of progression & response to treatment. It wasn't a shock but made it very real & I'm struggling to get it out of my head.......
I too hope Aussie is fine.....which I'm sure she will be, she's in good hands.
Have a lovely day ladies.

Karen, sometimes i envy the life of a cat, eat and sleep, able to manipulate yr owner by a simple gesture, but then on the other hand if you have a horrible owner, life could be quite miserable, what made me think of this is saying i have cat naps through the day, and chrissy and her night shift hours, i don't know either how she remains alert like she does, amazing lady.
Chrissy, did you do a night shift job some stage of yr life as you appear to be a night owl. I used to be a morning person and only the past years i have gone to be a late hour person, i don't go to work as i work at the bussiness and that is mainly at home, when ever i feel like it or do the farm stuff.
well i guess i need to get on with next job, the bathroom. take care ladies

Kazzie - I am sorry you are having to deal with this but hang in there - you can only take a day at a time. My friend is on Xeloda and doing well, she has defied their prognosis and is 11 years on.
Chrissy, you sound like my kind of gal! Sometimes I cannot sleep so I get up and wander around have coffee, must say I do my most productive work at the time of the night.
Alyson, I don't have grandchildren to spoil yet but later on in the year, Yay, already sourcing the most divine nursery furniture.
Annette, when are your tests being done? Your animals sound really cute and good company.

Lolalee, i have colonoscopy the 23trd april, a long way off, am supposed to have a endoscopy too, i am not sure whether they are going to combind the two, but if not have not got word on that one and am supposed to be going to the endocrine clinic, they have not an appointment as yet either, hope i can hang out til then, am finding no improovment on the problems unless i take heaps of pills to take the reflux away. so i just wait at this stage, thanks for asking.
0 -
That sure is a long wait to get some answers Annette, hopefully endoscopy and colonoscopy tests will be ok. Have you had your bloods done looking for any deficiency such as Vit D? Just wonder if you could see someone who could do a check to see if you need supplements to boost energy levels.
I never had confidence in supplements like vitamins etc but lately I have come round to thinking that there may be some benefit. My Vit D was pathetic level, I have been taking 2,000 icu and at last blood test I am now in normal range. Who would have believed it! I am also taking kelp to help with the thyroid so will see how that goes. Must say they are not easy to get down so I will look for kelp in a different form.
Better get back to the job in hand, coffee break over.

I hope everyone is coping ok with their treatments. Lots of hugs to you all.
We have just arrived back from hospital, hubby's colonoscopy resulted in a polyp being taken out. Don't find out results for 2.5 weeks but refuse to think negatively. x

Yes, they did bloods, much were more concerned with the iron levels whuch is why they doing the colonoscopy. They sending me to the endocrine clinic as there was a swelling on lift side of throat or neck as well. I am sick of my body, esp my tummy end.l
Kylie did yr hubby have to do an enema with his preparation to the colonscopy, that part puts me off all the prep for it. Really hope that yr husbands results come out ok, long time to wait tho for them, take care.

I have always been a night owl........my mother said it started in the womb......lol......apparently I was very quiet through the day and keeping her awake at night. As an adult, I did enjoy doing the night shift when I was nursing and really got into the habit of working at night when my children were little. I preferred to spend the daytime hours with them and only doing the necessary things like shopping etc through the day. All the house work, washing, ironing, sewing etc was done at night when children were asleep. DH has always been an early to bed early to rise person while I have always been the opposite.........sometimes wonder how we managed to have children at all.......lol. For many years I only slept four or five hours, most times now I sleep six or seven and then on occasions I will do a catch up and sleep fifteen hours like I did after going to bed last night. I find as I get older I usually can function on a high level with little sleep but the meds that I take make it very necessary to do the catch up thing.
Karen, when a doc gives a prognosis they do base it on your response to treatments etc but they still cannot factor in the person themselves.........everyday, people are defying statistics and prognosis. Please do not allow the numbers they gave you to stop you enjoying each and everyday you can. I know that getting that final number can make you feel that there is not time but, if you hadn't ask the question, didn't have cancer, and were just living your life as normal, would you have gone to a clarevoyant and asked him/her how long you had to live? and more importantly, would you have taken teir answer as gospel? My point is, even though you have a number, it's not carved in stone it is still just a guess. Do what you need to do to put your affairs in order and then live everyday to the absolute fullest your body will allow.
Annette I hear you with the cats......lol......my old cat has lost her marbles and most of her teeth but she knows that if she yells loud enough at certain times of the day I will feed her or pat her and see to her comfort. Last winter I bought her an electric bed so she could be warm and toasty...........actually, I think I'd like to return as a cat in a household like mine........lol.
Lolalee my Vit D was almost non existent when I was first dx'd and it has been proven that most women dx'd with BC are for the most part deficient in Vit D so the experts are saying that there is a link between the deficiency and the development. Its very interesting what the scientists are now finding as they delve more and more into the interaction of vitamins etc on our bodies and what their lack of are responsible for. I'm the sort of person who does not do well with a lot of chemical meds but respond well to the naturals and the addition of e tra supplements. I have learned over the years, with my own research, to balance the chemical meds with the natural to keep me at the best that I can be.
Kylie so glad that your hubby's colonoscopy and only one polyp found........don't you just hate the fact that it takes two weeks to get final answers........here's hoping they are all good.
Well,mi think I've written enough for now......lol.......better go before a book appears!
Have a good evening all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0
