Chrissy - so glad everything went well - those pics are amazing!  I love the room decorations, the reception looked gorgeous.  You are one very talented lady.  You and DH looked pretty amazing too xoxo Your DD was stunning and her new DH, wow!  Hope you have recovered a bit from the weekend, I was thinking of you all through the weekend and hoping everything was going to plan.

I still haven't heard anything - except that the dr is playing phone tag with the specialist he wants me to go to.  I'm really relaxed about it all though, so don't worry about me, it either is or it isn't, and at the moment I'm quite content to wait.  I've been keeping very busy too, so that probably helped.  It was a public holiday here in Canberra yesterday, so I've had a 4 day weekend (Friday was my day off).  Been working on the business a fair bit and had 3 portrait shoots to do.

We've registered a new business name - we want to go into pet photography and I decided the best way was to have a completely separate website.  Photography is a bit like doctors - you don't want to go to a specialist that specialises in everything. You want to go to someone about bc you go to an oncologist or a breast surgeon (or both). So we didn't want to compromise our wedding brand, and I registered ... "The Puparazzi" !!  I can't believe I came up with such a great name that wasn't taken!  So - have been very busy setting things up and getting things organised.  No time to think about me.

The pain is coming and going - as it has been for the past few months. I have a busy month coming up with weddings so don't really want to have any exploratory surgery before the 19 Oct anyway.

But really - I'm ok, relaxed, accepting and very calm :-)

    Trish

    xoxo

Well, I am  not Australian, and do not live in Australia, but I do have relatives in Sydney that we have visited a few times, and have also spent time in Canberra (ages ago), Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane, so hope it is ok for me to post here! My Grandfather on my dad's side was born and raised in Australia and was a foreign correspondent for the newspaper, and he moved to HI in the early 1900's but he died before I was born. ALSO, I have gotten to know Chrissy these past few years, from another thread on bco. So, "g'day mate" (lol)....and hope you are all doing ok. Had to tell you Trish, I love your name for your new pet photography business!!! So cute! (Hope somehow you also specify that you photograph ALL pets and not just puppies). But I think the name you picked is a keeper!

    Cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome Trish! Have to tell you something funny. A few years ago, we flew over to meet our relatives in Sydney (they found my dad in HI by searching online about 6 yrs ago or so...we never knew they existed!), I had heard of a "cheer" that was supposed to be used in OZ. Well, it goes like this "Cheers Big Ears", and the reply is "Same Goes Big Nose". I was so proud to have heard of it, so after we met and sat down for a beautiful dinner they prepared, I happily recited the cheer. LOL, joke was on me, because NONE of them had heard of it (there were 3 generations of them there). Boy was my face red!! Have any of you Aussie's heard of that cheer?

Chrissy....the pics are gorgeous & the bride & groom both look beautiful...a bit of a good sort your son in law...lol. I see you got your outfit done, it looks lovely & well done!!

The reception area also looks fabulous....a job well done. You should be very proud.

Gail....I know exactly how you are feeling, the only consolation for me is my kids have each other & their dad! I hope & pray daily that this beast doesn't get me before my grandchild arrives & I too feel sad when I listen to people planning their future......

I want the the caravan, loads of grand kids & retirement for 20 or 30 years with my hubby.....

But, we soldier on & enjoy what we have. So glad you had a fabulous 60th & caught up with so many friends & family......big (((hugs))) xxx

Viji....welcome to our special little group. You will always have somewhere to vent, share the happy times & get advice xxx

Annette....hope the visit with your mum went well & hubby is doing ok....

We have just bought all new furniture for the kitchen/family room which is being delivered tomorrow....in the meantime, hubby & son moved all the old stuff out last night so at the moment I have no table & chairs (I do have the breakky bar though!!) & a couch & a tv in the family room.....lol. So looking forward to tomorrow, it's feeling very bare....

    Take care lovely ladies.

    (((Hugs)))

    Hi all

You'll never guess? My surgery got cancelled!!! Got there at 11am and waited until 5pm then they cancelled it. Surgery before mine took longer than the Doctor thought. I'm having the surgery in a month now as the Doctor only does that hospital 1 day a month.

I rang up a lady from work to tell her I would be in tomorrow to cancel my holidays and she asked me to work !!! They are short staffed for what needs to be done tomorrow, glad I am wanted !!!

It's been a wasted day, I should be in hospital throwing up from the anesthetic not at home and working tomorrow!!!

I suppose there's not much that I can do.

Thanks girls for your comments re the wedding.......my main concern was that I delivered what my daughter wanted and she did tell me it was more than she even imagined. For months every time I sat down I picked up thread and a crochet hook or scissors to cut something........tonight I sat down and thought 'what the hell am I going to do now?'.......lol.   Guess I'll have to find another project.........lol.

    Kathy lovely to see you!

Trish, that name is priceless!!  Good on you for thinking of it!  Hopefully it will get you a whole heap more work.

Talking of photography, Trish you would have loooooved the camera that Steen was using on the weekend......it was amazing! and even more amazing was the price......$10,000!!!! but oh what he could do with it!  I can wait to see all the photos that he took.

Hi Viji!  I'm not usually this ignorant about welcoming new girls to the thread but as you may have read, my mind has sort of been rather occupied........lol.   Back now!  As Racy said, we would love to see you at the get together in Sydney at the end of November if you can make it.

Karen it's always exciting when you get new furniture!  When you get it all in place post a pic so we can all drool.......lol.

There must be some sort of coldy/fluey bug going around as there were quite a few at the wedding who were under the weather including the groom and and one of my grandsons.......guess what?......yep, you got it and so have I......I have been getting huskier and huskier as the day has gone on and tonight I have that annoying little tickle cough that by tomorrow will have turned into a full blown cold....UGH!!!!!  I can't remember the last time I had a cold but I think I'm in for a doozy this time round.

    Have a good night all!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

Oh Racy, YOU live in a beautiful place too! I have to admit, Brisbane was one of the best places we visited, in Australia. Stayed right on the river, and that water taxi is awesome. Also had the Brisbane river specialty....like a lobster...can't remember the name of it, but it comes out of that river and is sooooo yummy. Had that on my birthday. My 2nd fav place was Adelaide, as we stayed in the old Treasury bldg which had such history, and the underground train tracks from when they had to transport gold, etc. Plus its not far from the beach! Have only been to part of OZ and your country is so huge! Wish I had known Chrissy when we went to Adelaide, as she doesn't live TOO far from there and we could have met face-to-face! Also, it would have been lovely to have met you in Brisbane! Not too long after we were there, you had that awful flooding. On our last trip, my cousin took us up into the Blue Mountains (I think thats the name?) and we stayed at a  wonderful B&B.  And right after we left Sydney last time, they had that awful dust storm that overtook the city. Shoot, they might not let us enter the country again!!! lol.

Oh I hate that you are getting sick, Chrissy! But THANK GOD you were well for the wedding....and that it went so perfectly. Get well, now!

Hi to all of you here!

Forgive the intrusion ladies, just have to say that I loved the photos of Chrissy, her DH, her DD and her new SIL. The wedding looks to have been as beautiful as you planned, if not better. I hope that you can post some of the pics on the thread you have that started when you came to the US. Love you Chrissy B and congrats on your newest family member.

*edited ... just read that you are under the weather, Chrissy. Praying that you feel better, love. Take it easy and be a good girl.

    Ok, ladies, carry on.

Love and peace to all of you wonderful fellow survivors ♥

Chrissy - make sure you take care of that cold! :-)  Not entirely surprised though, after all the work you've done over the past few months, you've overextended yourself.  Have some lazy days and sleep girl!  As to the camera - yes they can cost a bomb, mine is almost that much - close to $7k I used to joke that my camera was worth more than my car, but having a new little i30 I can't say that anymore lol.  It's not the equipment, but how you use it that matters (although the more expensive the lens the better the result), I'm looking forward to seeing the pics :-)

Viji - sorry I missed welcoming you too - this is a wonderful thread, all the ladies here are amazing and we all support each other through the best and worst of times.  If you are able to get along to our Sydney get together we'd love to meet you.

Ariom - nice to see you here too, how are you going? And your DH?  I hope all is well in your world xoxo

Wahine - I haven't heard "Cheers big ears" for years - probably decades, I think it's one of those old sayings that fell out of custom.  I hope you liked the Blue Mountains - I was born just on the other side of them, in a little town called Lithgow.  Spent a lot of time in the mountains, still like to go there for holidays when we can - it's like coming home for me.

Another lovely spring day in Canberra - yesterday it was 23 degrees by 10.00am and had dropped to 12 by lunch time with the cold front that moved through, and the wind ... ugghh I'll be happy when the wind goes.  I got my DH a balloon ride for his birthday last year, and we really need to book it before it runs out, but I want to make sure the wind has gone first lol.

Hello DorK - you don't need to apologise here - you aren't intruding, we love talking to our US sisters too :-)

I hope you feel up to dropping in Viji.

I am soo pi**ed off. Damn arimidex - I am having trouble lifting my legs as my hips hurt. I went to step over a child safety gate and my toe caught. I came down hard and smashed my head on the ground, saw stars and thought I was going to pass out. All the little kids started to cry so I got up quickly, but I have bruised and scraped my op arm as well as sore head, neck and elbow.

I see the onc tomorrow so will show him arm as dont want LE as well. Just keeps on giving doesn't it?

Trish I'm being a good girl and resting.....lol.....its 1.00pm and I'm still in my PJ's and I have no intention of putting clothes on as I'm warm and comfy.

I hear you on the wind!!!  Here last week it was blowing a gale literally but luckily for the weekend it calmed to a gentle breeze but returned full force yesterday and is still blowing!  I wish it would disappear again as it has torn my shade cloth sail over my patio and I need a calm day to take it down and repair it.  It's the second time its torn along that seem so I think I just might see if I can find a nylon tape to reinforce it when I resew it.......maybe that might stop it from tearing again.

Steen has posted a couple of pics from the wedding on my FB page so I will transfer them here for all to see.

All the visitors have now left and it's just DH and I once again......I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to the peace.....lol......not that I didn't love seeing the extended family but I think I was just tooo tired to really enjoy their company.

I love the look on DD's face in this one.......such a self satisfied expression!

Oh Chrissy - what a lovely photo :-)

Glad to hear you are resting, isn't it lovely when you can stay in your pj's all day!? lol

Kylie - you poor thing!  Why don't you ask your onc if you can switch to Aromasin?  I made the switch from Arimidex and my joint pain is soooooo much better!  I have a brain again too.  It's worth trying.  If Aromasin doesn't do better there are other AI's to try xoxox

Oh Aussie!  What a bummer!!!  How very disappointing for you but nice to know that you are wanted at work.

Kylie, I had the same problems on Arimadex and also felt like I was 90 not late fifties but after only two weeks on Femara I was almost back to my usual self.  Please ask your doc about changing to either Femara or Aromasin as you really do not have a good QOL at the moment.

Yay Ariom!!  The first year is a hard one to get through and you have done it!  Good for you!  May the years just keep on rolling by for you.

Mandy I sure do hope that this lurgy doesn't hang around that long!  A few days I will cope with but longer than that and it will drive me nuts!!!

Delvzy, no probs, I know how you are feeling as I'm getting the same cold/flu/lurgy!  YUK!!!

Tammy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get that call back!

    Hope everyone sleeps well!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy
