Karen ((((hugs)))) another blow, it's so hard for you. I'm hoping the Navelbine will keep the beast at bay for a while, and your liver can handle it. Just one day at a time sweetie, just one day at a time. I know you want to look further forward than that, but just take each day as a gift and your darling grandson will be here before you know it. xoxo
Chrissy - that puppy is adorable. Yes - she certainly has a lot of growing to do. Only 25-30kg? Finn was 18kg at four months and now at 8 months is already 25kg lol. My old boy Gus, the one we had to put to sleep just before we moved from Michelago was 39kg!! Mind you he was a bit big for his breed, but only around 4kg. That little girl has a lot of growing to do.
Annette, glad the canula insertion was gentle on you. Good luck with the bone scan today. xoxo
Jenn - hope you are feeling a bit more comfy today (((hugs)))
Stay cool girls

i am leaving to go for next part of scan soon, the actual scan, i had the injection at ten and the scan at one, which is 45 minutes away. so i guess i had better go and get ready, they gave injection in the middle arm where they do blood tests and it did not hurt abit. am glad, wondering if they do things differently over your side. lol i do preferr how it was this morning. i cant even see where the needle has been. gotta go

Oh Karen......shit!!!!! I could say more but I'd probably get banned.........that's really not the news I know you wanted. Here's hoping that the Navelbine does some good in kicking it back, even just a little. As Trish said, just take each day as it comes and try not to stress yourself with thinking far ahead........a day at a time will help you get through. You are in my thoughts.
Annette, yay for a good canula insert!! isn't it nice to get someone who really knows what they are doing. Sounds like you are ready to go on the bone scan and I'm so happy for you that that injection was easy for you.
Jenn, hope each day proves a little more comfortable for you.
Trish I'm used to little and I mean little dogs.......lol.......my Tinker weighs all of 4 kgs so Raven is already much bigger!
Trying to stay cool and so far my air con is doing its job.....lol......DH is taking to the local Italian restaurant for tea to night as they close down until the 25th Feb for their annual holidays........I think half the town will go into piza withdrawal as most eat either there or take away once a week and that includes us. The food is so yumm and is run more as a family kitchen so is very welcoming. It was voted the best rural restaurant for 2013.

Thanks Trish, Chrissy & Annette? I woke at 4.30 .....in tears! I guess I'm entitled to a bit of down time.
Yes, I know what you're saying......1 day at a time & as hard as it is I'm trying. Your kind & special words defiantly help xxxx
On a happy note, we have a 4D scan today so that should lift my spirits!! We should get a ver clear image of his face as she is 34 weeks.......I'm secretly hoping he looks my son & hubby!! I'm not biased or anything but they are pretty handsome....lol
Anyway, have a good day & Chrissy, do stay cool.

Karen tears are the lubrication of the soul so shed them whenever you need........of course it's all going to be on your mind......that's very normal but keep hold of the thought of your grandbaby and how soon it will be here. That 4D scan sound so special and will let you know what he looks like........hang in there, he will be in your arms before you know it.
Day by day......just keep repeating to your self.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear your bad news. I really do hope that Navelbine will work for you. (((hugs))) I hope today will take your mind off your health and give you some joy.... not long before the birth, too yay!
Annette, I am so glad that you had a good experience with the cannula, and good luck with the scan.
Well,I don't want to brag, but the weather here is perfect even though Adelaide ( and Burra ) are experiencing extremely hot weather. I say my physiotherapist this morning and he performed lymphatic drainage on my arm, and what a big difference that has made to my arm. I am off to do my reception stint at the local Cancer Support group soon as there is no yoga today and then off for another swim and the exercise bike and rower. I am very surprised that my muscles are not sore today, so I will work a bit harder today. I find that I need to do things as I am so scared to give in to fatigue as that will slow me down and then make my body weaker (I hope that makes sense). Tomorrow my DS and GD2 and GD3 will come over for a visit, so I will do some baking tonight. Looking forward to having lots of cuddles and having the house turned upside down tomorrow and then seeing them off because that is one of the perks of being a grandparent.
Tammy, Midnight and everyone else, it is nice to read your threads and I hope everyone keeps cool.
Warm hugs

I had my bone scan as you say, it was a breeze. took 20 mins, it ws hard getting of the thing though, it has a dip in the bed and really nothing to help to pull yourself up on, on the whole it was pretty good. hope every body ok.
karen, am really feeling for you now, but glad you will be seeing the scan and that will be so special; of that grandson of yours. enjoy your day.

Karen (((hugs)))
Mandy, you're making me tired reading your post :-)
Trish, how are you feeling now?
0 -
Annette, you are right, getting on and off that bed is the hardest thing about a bone scan.......lol. Glad it's all done now just the wait for the results........here's hoping they are all good.
Mandy I'll say it again, you amaze me!!!!
Tammy, how are you doing?
Katie girl, if you are reading how about a hideho to let us know you're doing okay.
Time for me to relax......yes I know, I do that a lot......lol......I'm old so I'm allowed. Have a good night all and a better day tomorrow!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi again everyone, can you bloody believe I got bitten by a march fly the day I got home and ended up with cellulitis again, in my leg this time, even with all the antibiotics I'm taking. Annette, you were right, it was cellulitis in my lymphoedema arm. The red streaks are caused by the infection. Glad your scan went well.
((((((Karen))))), I do hope they get something that works for you soon, and a good cry never hurt anyone.
Chrissy, what a gorgeous dog! Jenn, hope your recovery goes well. Mandy, glad you are having good weather, like Trish and Chrissy we are hot here again. I noticed you said swimming helped your arm, I might have to give it a try, and its good weather for it.

Tanya, you'll need to wrap yourself in mosquito netting if this continues
Chrissy, I'm doing well. Got the year 1 all clear from my surgeon last week. He told me to stay healthy this year and I promised to try my best!
We've just stopped for a coffee on the way to our property...can't wait to get there for a good sleep!

Chrissy or anybody got any helpful words for the poor girl above our postings, my mothers cancer is back, please help. i have no experience with chemo. its the thread above ours.
Tammy hope you get a good rest at the cabin.
Tanya, yes as Tammy says, you will have to get a protective covering, you afford to be getting that terrible thing all the time, you poor lady.
I woke up with the most terrible pain in my left knee during the night, it was like a cold ache to the left side of it. took some panandol about 3am, and took three. it finally wore off, but was not nice at the time. am going to get a hot water bottle next time. warmth helps alot., when i had op the other day and it had finished, they brought me this lovely toasty warm rug. oh it was so lovely, i snuggled well into it.
hey jenn, hows you doing girl?
karen, how are you, you get to see the scan of little bubba?
have a good day sweet ladies. oh yea. geography time, where is Alice springs. it in south ausy, was watching out back coroner in Australia last night and the town of alice was on it.

Tammy....wonderful news, 1 year clear, woo hoo!!
Annette....glad it all went well for you & was relatively pain free.
Jenn...hope your recovery is coming along well & the family is looking after you!!
And luv n hugs to everyone else.
The 4D scan was amazing!!! He even smiled at me (not his mum....lol). I may be biaised, but I think he is beautiful & he looks like my sons.....
Racy....I have sought second opinions before, but there doesn't seem to be anyone else that gets the Triple Negative. I'm very pleased & confident with my onc so at this point I'll be sticking with him. I do appreciate your advice though.
I think i told you all the onc is going to monitor my weight as I'm getting a bit skinny, so I've revised my diet, been eating 3 good meals a day with a couple of fruit snacks......& believe me it's hard when you're not hungry.....but over the last couple of days I've eaten more than I have in ages & lost bloody weight....can't win!!
I'm feeling ok, have my ups & downs & it doesn't take much to get me teary. The reality of the situation has really hit...... I have a lot to look forward to though & that keeps me going
Well special ladies, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend & you all manage to stay cool.
(((Hugs)))

Annette Alice Springs is out near Uluru (Ayres Rock) so is near the South Austalia/Northern Territory border.
I saw that young mans post but he's asking questions that no one can answer but his mums doc and I can't add any more to what has already been said I'm afraid. Yes, I hear his desperation and it is so very sad.
Tammy have a lovely time and a good rest as the cabin.......you lucky duck you........that is the perfect place to get away from it all........lol. Congrats on the all clear!! Those words sure do make you feel good about things and I hope you get to hear them for ever!
Dinner last night was great! I'm eating the left over pizza for my lunch and it is as good today as it was last night........lol.......even better because I don't have to fire up the stove as it is sooooo hot here again.........YUK!!!!!
Stay cool everyone!!!!

i got a letter in post today from my Gp regarding another check of my Diabetes, kidneys , liver. HB1ac, tests etc except on the lab form they enclosed, it now has Confirmed diabetic, it used to read, borderline diabetes as i was hovering between, i have been trying hard, going to gym, i eat good food, sprouts and not white bread, and it is right into the diabetes according to that, so i have to do another fasting thing when i can. you can't win. oh well i will just keep up with the being careful what i eat and go to gym. I did not have diabetes before the cancer, but apparently they linked if you are suseptible and i have it on both sides of families. it is do with estrogen and the insulin i think, one over takes the other and cancer or the Al's can trigger it.

Annette have you seen a diabetic dietitian? Just eating what you think is right is not the right way to go, you need to follow a much stricter diet than that. My mum was a diabetic and so is my brother and I know how they eat......do yourself a favor and get a referral to a dietitian as they will explain exactly how your food affects your sugars and how to regulate and why.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi all
Last week my SIL in Queensland was in hospital with a bad kidney infection, she only got out on Thursday and is back in again today. This time it is an abscess on her pelvis and needs surgery. Last year it was me twice in hospital with surgeries, this year so far it's been Mum now SIL and it's only February!!!
Mum's a lot better and has been eating well, we are going to try and get all the help we can from Gov etc about Mum's dementia as she will never be the same as before.
I have been reading everyone's posts and I wish everyone well and cool, LOL.

Karen, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

How gorgeous Karen. The research shows babies can distinguish voices at that stage so he probably was smiling at you. Yours would be a special voice that makes him happy. There are some beautiful children's books where you can record your voice reading for your grandson, tha could be a lovely gift. X

kazzie, was thinking of you and praying for you with your grandson today.
God bless.........

Hi all
Thanks for your kind words Annette, my sister in law is trying to avoid the surgery as the abscess they think is near her bowel and they might need to take out some of her bowel. That will mean that she needs a colostomony bag for 6 months!!! That won't be very nice at all. My brother is meant to be coming over in 2 weeks but we will see how things go.

Hello girls
Had a busy weekend, lots of visitors and a portrait shoot. A portrait shoot outside when it's 39 degrees isn't much fun, let me tell you, but the people had come down from near Sydney to do it, so just had to make the best of it.
Karen - I'm sure your grandson was smiling at you - as Kylie said, babies can distinguish voices in the womb, so he is already attached to yours :-) Wish I could offer you advice on how to gain weight, you'd think I could as I seem to put it on far too easily. Remember I think of you every day and send lots of (((hugs))) to you each day as well. xoxo
Annette - everyone is right, you need to get some proper dietary advice. I've never been diabetic, but one thing I do know is that fruit has lots of sugar in it (yes it's the natural kind of sugar, but still sugar) so eating too much fruit can cause problems. Just because a food is healthy, doesn't mean it's something you can eat when a diabetic.
Tanya - those march flies hurt!! You'll have to swaddle yourself before going outside lol. Try the swimming if you can - it's great exercise.
Aussie - what a tough time you and your family are having, sending you ((((hugs))) too.
Mandy - hope you aren't doing too much and wearing yourself out - you wear me out just reading all you do lol xoxo
Tammy - wooohoo! One year clear, that's a great milestone, I hope you have 40 more :-) Hope you got to enjoy some quality time in the hut xoxo
Trish

Thankyou for your advice girls, i am already having brown bread as white bread has sugar, i have cut butter out. and have lots of sprouts and stuff, alfalfa, mung bean sprouts, but yea i have to see her re: results after bood results come in,following Hb1ac test, fasting bloods.
Hubby took Miss Heidi dog to farm with him, lol she lent against radio in car and gave herself one big hell of a fright as she changed the channel and somel ranchy music came on and hubby said she jumped about two feet. in the air. he is going to take her for a ride on farm bike today, needs own helmet and sun glasses and she will be MISS COOL DOG. lol, hubby just rung and said, Joe the donkey just chased her out of the paddock. and she is getting her breath back and wagging her tail flat stick. man that was a big dog that chased me, she thinks. he said, she almost is smiling, having lots of fun.
0 -
Annette your Heidi dog sounds just lovely and I can see her now sitting with her tongue lolling after being chased........lol.
On your diet front..........as I said, it's not the food but how and how much you eat. Bread is allowed but each slice is class as a portion and a portion is a carbohydrate as in potato, pasta etc. most vegetables are what they call free and you can fill up on them but a dietician will teach you the right way to combine your foods to get maximum benefit with out pushing your sugar over the top and how to use your food to help control your sugars at a certain level with out having to use too much medication to do that. Diabetes is known as the silent killer a it can destroy your inner organs with out you realising it, that's why it is so important to get the right information early and stick with it. You will also learn that it's not the sugar in something that is the enemy it is the way your body no longer processes that sugar.
Diabetes is that your pancreas no longer produces insulin, the chemical that turns sugar to energy in your system and so need to be replaced by medication. The problem is that the medication although goo is not the same as the natural thing so you have to compensate by using your intake of food talley to the out put of energy. This diet can and does stabilise your weight and providing you follow it strictly with in the bounds you will have plenty of energy.
Hon, I'm sorry to go on and on about this but I know what not doing the right thing can do........my mother controlled hers so well she was the pinup girl for all the specialists in Adelaide where as my brother did not do the right thing and almost died and has spent the last three years in painful agony barely able to move or walk because he didn't follow the right path and ignored everything that mum and the doc told him........he knew better and is now really paying the price.
To get the right info you need to see a specialist dietitian or go to a diabetic clinic........enough said,......I'll stop now........lol. Do take care.
Still just trying to stay cool........this weather is supposed to be around for another week! Are you kidding me or what?! Pray tell me, who up there forgot to turn the flipping heater off????!!!!!!!
Love n hugs all! Chrissy
