Hope you all ok?  Tanya, have not heard from you, how are you?

Have a good day you  lovely ladies. Karen, hope things  ok for you. and Hi  Racy, you in my thoughts as well.  take care. I think you said, you love mini horses, we hope to have one soon,  a baby one. not quite sure if  Bella is pregnant or not, she had one, but it was still born about 5 months ago. we may have some baby donkeys at end of year, considering the behaviour of late.  it will be further into year if bella is pregnant i guess, but she does look abit fatter on the sides of  her abdomen. here is hoping,  could be wishful thinking on our part.

Just  got another appointment in the mail from the diabatic and thyroid, endocrine doctor  who has ordered a pelvic scan for the 25th Feb, 9am,have to drink a litre  and a half of water for this one and hold it, Mmm that will not be easy for me. the  holding it in, have enough problems in normal circumstances. lol.  I dont know why i am having this one, did not come up in conversation, i know it will be to do with the thickened uterus lining.  but i will go with the flow as they are taking  good care of me.. I'm feeling good today, thanks everyone. Shampoo'd the carpet and got all the housework done, been a busy morning lol.

Annette I find it hard to hold all that water too, you can go with drinking a little less and they'll get you to top up when you're there, but don't tell them you cheated lol

Trish,  sounds like you're fighting fit Smile

    Annette, I'm well thank you.

We finally saw one of the wombats last weekend at the property.  Maybe they are coming out earlier due to drought....he/ she even let me take a picture!

Trish glad you are feeling better.....yay!!!!  Well the dates are fixed so lunch on the 28th suit you?  I can always come a little earlier as I know you said you had appointments and have to leave at 2.00.  At this point it's just me but I'll let you know closer if SIL will be with me if that's okay.

Tammy, that wombat is so cute!  I just love those animals!  Yes, the heat and drought may well be forcing them out earlier than normal.

Annette, the pelvic ultrasound is definitely related to the thickened uterus.  Be prepared, they may also do the internal US to get a better view of what's going on.  As for all the liquid, that is so they can get the bladder to move so they can get a good view so really does need to be full.  I do what Trish said, just have the litre at home as they always give you move when you are there.   Good luck!

Feeling much better now I've  slept and had a chance to relax a little but need to get some washing done today as I'm just about out of knickers and we can't have that, no telling what would happen.......lol.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs.     Chrissy

Karen, i am sorry about your progression and your friend kerry to. you Gals go for it and have a pig out,  yes i have had  alot of tests and goings on and  it very wearing down. but at last  the docs are keeping on the ball and taking care of me, so thankful. as the rads doc said, they have to be really careful as not to start other issues off by doing something else.

Chrissy, you look snazzy, cool hair cut.ThumbsUp i think i will save that photo into my pictures. chrissy is  this your reg hair dresser, because they are a good hair stylist.

Tammy, would you like to parcel that wombat up and send him over, hubby would love it to bits, he is the animals mad one, he can't walk past a hungry animal with out taking it something and you want to see him  watching  a animal movie, tears run down his face. he is very emotional.  he would of been really good in a zoo taking care of them. more than driving trucks..

love the new hairdo Chrissy. Yes, 28th is perfect, if you can come around 11 or so, I'll leave around 3.30, now I know exactly what time the wedding is.

Karen honey, I'm keeping everything crossed that this chemo is the one for you, the one that will kick cancer's arse, and melt the mets. I can hope SmileAs for eating healthy, why would you do that??!! Enjoy yourself and eat whatever takes your fancy.  Now when it comes to family, sometimes we are truly "blessed" with some of the relatives from hell. We all have them, but put up with them for the sake of keeping the peace, or not putting our other halves in an awkward position.

But Karen, you don't have to do that. You don't have the time others have and you certainly don't have to be nice to people who upset you. Your time is going to be too short to be nice to everyone. If you upset someone, then does that really matter? You can be nice, but firm and just say you don't have the energy for all these people visiting, you appreciate that they want to say goodby (or whatever they think they are trying to do) but if they want to make things easier for you, they'll respect that you aren't well enough for them. Ask them to say goodby at your funeral. What will they do? Cut you out of your will?

If you really don't want to hurt them ask your DH to deal with them, just tell them you are too frail to deal with them, and get him to be the tough one. Maybe I'm more of a bitch, I think I probably am, but I would make certain I wouldn't have people around me who drained me.

I have a cousin who is a drama queen, she would call me every day when I was doing chemo and wanted to have long talks. She lives in Melbourne, and before bc, we'd talk maybe once a year. I wasn't well enough to deal with her dramas so ended up telling her not to call me, I wasn't well enough. She got the message pretty quickly and left me alone.

Sorry, don't mean to rant, but it's not right for you to have to put up with any shit now. ((((Hugs))))

Carol, that is so nice to get appreciated like that and get told as well.  My faith in the supermarkets gets  an A. i know that in NZ the supermarket and big stores like that, use and abuse their  staff, the one down at our countdown, we get the scraps, greens for the pigs, but the manager is a cow. none of the workers like her, but the other one in town more, is a sweetie and also the other one we get the scraps from, she is real nice to, i am surprised that anybody stays working for her. But i did hear on the grape vine she was brought in by higher athority  to make every body shape up, but looks like there are  alot that are shipping out. she too much of a grumpy old bag they say. the produce  dept tell hubby when he collects the green and half of them are working at different stores and not  countdowns  either. half of them at New World now. and they just go. no notice. she is real nasty to them and i heard her one day telling the worker off in front of heaps of customers. she should of taken  them to a private area and said, what she needed to say.  anyway  i have a job to do, so will leave and everybody have a happy day.

    Love the hair Chrissy.

Trish, glad you are feeling better, but shampooing carpet? Vacuuming is bad enough.

Just got home from grandson's 1st birthday,  I can't believe how quickly it has gone.  I hate being so far away and miss them lots.

The birthday had 65 people :)  but out of that were two young men with cancer. One is only mid 20s with testicular,  but he is having a second op this week for positive nodes and his kidneys have shut down so he is on dialysis. His fiancee has always called me Mum so they are dear to my heart, so sad.

Tammy, wombats aren't my favourites one dug under our house and collapsed the foundations lol. Cute though.

I ran over a red belly black snake this morning on the dirt road, and  see it behind me. We have had them wrap themselves under the car so I was very nervous when I got out...

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. Hugs x

On Yahoo news, they had a big add on front page  about a campaign to raise awareness for pancreratic cancer and they had these forlorn faces and it said, i wish i had Breast cancer. it has sparked outrage as they are saying that breast cancer is a common normal cancer  that you probably wish you had instead of pancreatic cancer, well i agree it is horrible cancer, it  killed my Dad. but breast cancer is no walk in the park either, its a fatal disease and now its been looked upon as something like a very bad  flu and you get over it and you cured. I would not wish any cancer on any body., the ones who put it out are more aless  saying that it is getting mis understood of their intentions to put the add out like thay have. Breast cancer kills, posatate cancer kills, testuclar cancer kills, cancer is a disease of the body, where  ever it lands, sure there is some treatment options that help more than others, but no good if not got  early, i will admit dad did not have many options, it ws too well advanced when they found it and he was unfortunately a typical male that did not go to  check it out when he first started to feel so unwell. it had a good hold and was un operable, the main tumour was wrapped around major blood vessels that if they tryed to go any further, he would of bled to death, so they sowed him up, he had a year and two months after that.

Well it's not the best choice of words, but the ad really is about raising awareness about pancreatic cancer. They aren't wishing cancer on anyone else, just saying they wish they had a more treatable kind of cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is pretty deadly - it's almost an instant death sentence.  Yes breast cancer is deadly and it's horrible and some forms of it are not easily treated.  But it is treatable for a lot of sufferers. Pancreatic cancer isn't easily treated at all for any of its sufferers.

If I had a choice between which cancer I was going to get, I'd choose breast cancer over pancreatic cancer in a heartbeat. I've only known five people personally who have had pancreatic cancer and they all died within six months of their diagnosis. It's extremely rare for someone to survive longer than twelve months after an initial diagnosis.

I guess in some ways it probably was well worded - it's fired people up and raising awareness for a cancer that doesn't get a lot of publicity.

    Trish

you are right there Trish, i just  dont like if people getting an idea that breast cancer is not bad, but on the other hand it is more treatable, My dad got about 18 months after his pancreatic DX, he found out in Jan of 2000 and was gone be june12th 2001, just before the twin towers attack in the states, he missed that. he would not liked to have seen that.

Comparing cancer types doesn't help anyone. Would have been better just saying I wish i didn't have pancreatic cancer because it's so deadly... One commentary I saw stated that this is proof the pinkification of breast cancer has not done breast cancer any favours because people now believe it's no worse than the flu :-/

Jenn, they need to interview a few stage IV sisters to find out very quickly that BC is no picnic!    This sort of advertising just shows such ignorance on the side of the person and the people handling the advertising account.

I wholeheartedly agree that BC has been way too 'pinkified' and does not show the reality of the disease.

Just been reading about this UK campaign. They are getting I lot of flack. I do understand what they are saying but as one person said - don't wish any type of cancer on anyone. There is another ad that says 'I wish I had prostrate cancer'.  However I do think it has a lot to do with BC being pinkified. Our BC research started a campaign by putting up huge boill board which said:  'Breast cancer is no big deal' It was supposed to be a bit like our Tui ads and in a few days was to have 'yeh right' added and then later 'But we are on our way to finding a cure'. It lasted just a couple of days and I am really proud that I meet with the head of the trust and told him exactly what I thought. My point was it gave people the idea that anyone who was diagnosed with BC was fine and could be back a work in a few days as it was nothing. There is this attitude out there.

    Hot and sticky here.

Do hope everyone is doing OK

    Big hugs.

    Hello lovely ladies,

I hope everyone is safe from the fires, and coping with the heat.  I have been in hospital again, third time this year, so well and truly over it now!  I found a new downside from the numbness after a mx, you dont know when you are being bitten by a spider, over and over again!  I felt a sharp pain on the back of my shoulder, put my hand inside my bathrobe to rub it, and came out with a black spider instead.  I threw it on the floor, but before I had a chance to get a good look at it, DH had squashed it and the egg sac it was carrying (he really has a thing about spiders LOL).  When we went to look at the bite, we realised it had bitten me 6 times along the back of my arm, where its numb, before biting me where I could feel it.  So of course my arm ends up infected again, bacteria just thrives on stagnant, protein rich lymph fluid!

Happy Anniversary Annette.  Nice haircut Chrissy.  I'm glad all went well with the procedure Trish. Tammy, I love Wombats, even with the bloody holes they dig everywhere.  Jackie French has written 2 books about the wombats that live around her place, the books are so funny, I cannot read them without tears running down my face from laughing.  One of our local wombats was snorting and grunting outside my window one night, so I went out to move him along, well he didnt like being told to move and chased me!

I really feel for that young woman in the pancreatic advert.  The whole hoopla around BC has overshadowed every other cancer.  Mind you, nothing much has changed in regards to actually saving lives, but a lot of businesses and even charities have made a shitload of money out of us.  I cannot stand the whole pinkwashing thing, its got nothing to do with finding a cure, its just another marketing ploy to sell stuff.

    hugs to everyone

    Tanya

Oh shit Tanya!  Was the spider just a black house spider and not a venomous one?  OMG!  that could easily been a red back!!!  She would have been very aggressive because of the egg sack she was carrying.........I'm so glad it wasn't worse but being in hospital again just sucks!

Hoping you are well on the way to being back on top.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy
