    Hi ladies

I would like to nominate Chrissy as a moderator. She would be perfect for the role :)

    Hi girls!

Yes Trish the pain has sort of settled to a routine and of course is worse first thing in the morning before pain meds are taken but once they kick in I can at least walk a bit better and get the exercises done.  The last few days have been really hard going but more because my emotions were all over the place for some reason but seem to have evened out once more and for that I'm very happy.  I will be happier once i stop waking through the night with my legs in spasm.......they don't hurt but feel really weird.  Once I am aware, I can get them undercontrol and quickly return to sleep.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Racy but I'm not sure if I would be acceptable.  I have received an email from the mods asking if I know of any trust worthy popular sites that they could advertise for the position but I haven't a clue what sites would be appropriate.  I was thinking maybe Jenn would have a better idea as she is in the medical industry but she, as we all know is away enjoying a well deserved holiday.

Oh Trish my girl........have you lost that much weight? or is that an old pic?  Which ever it is you look fab!!!

Time for me to hit the hay.

    Love n hugs all!    Chrissy

Chrissy, not happy that you've been emotional, wish I could have been there to hug you and hold your hand (((hugs))). Is this amount of pain normal? Was it the same after the last knee?

I thought of you too Chrissy for the role, I've been trying to think of a good place for them to advertise, but have come up empty so far.

Lol - that was a picture Kate took of me with my camera when we were in Brisbane! I need to get down to that weight again!!!!

Sheila - that must have been a bit scary to have all that happen where you were. I have no sympathy for the idiots who use a cowards punch on people. I hope the guard is ok. Well done you for coming out with more money though!

    Trish

Wow Carol sounds like you aren't bored lol. Glad you won something.

Yes  Chrissy, I definitely think Trish has lost weight and is looking really good. Maybe the new food regime?

I imagine it would be a lot of work being a moderator,  but I do think Chrissy, that you would do a great job. I hope you are starting to feel a bit less sore.

Thanks Trish, you are a darling.  Yes, this amount of pain is quite normal for a knee replacement ........they say it is the most painful op a person can have......I think that is why my doc gave me a wry grin and asked me if I was sure knowing what it entailed.........lol.   I just look at the end result and if it's as good as the first one, believe me, it is well worth going through all this pain!  These first four weeks are the hard graft, after that things settle down a whole lot quicker as it really get down to healing thank goodness.

Wow Aussie!  So much excitement both in and out of the casino!  Nice that you came out with more than you took in, what a bonus!!

Thanks girls for your vote but I think the mods are looking to employ someone part time so I doubt they are looking for a member.

DH has just gotten back from the chemist with some more endone for me.  I rang my GP yesterday to ask for some more as they only send you home with on packet.......not nearly enough!  I love my GP as he faxed a script through to our local pharmacy for another 100......more than enough to get me through the rest of the crap......yay!!!!

    Catch you all later!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

    Hi all

A good employment site would be www.seek.com.au I have been going on there, it's a good site.

I went out today and brought some plants for the front garden, Kangaroo Paws and a stripey Dianella. I have to start planting them tomorrow.

Annette, I think the new start is just what you need...and a good mammo result!  Sounds like a good time ahead for you.

Chrissy, sorry that you are in so much pain but you obviously have the bigger picture in mind to help get you through.

Carol, I hope you enjoyed your time in the garden.

We are now on our way home from Byron Bay via Armidale last night.  It was a lovely break.  I didn't realise how sick and tired I was until we were away but I did get time to rest and do some gentle exercise and I now feel soooo much better.  I'm now going to pace myself a little more at work so I don't end up like this again!

Thanks Tammy, the pain is getting better day by day and I have plenty of pain killers to keep it under control in the mean time.  The end result is definitely well worth all this pain and disability in the beginning.

I ventured out today to a friends farewell luncheon and really enjoyed myself immensely!  I think it was the combination of good food and good company.

Tammy do pace yourself a little better, there is no need to rush at things.......as you have found out, doing that really does put you behind the eight ball.  I do hope you really are feeling better for the rest.

    Take it easy all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Hi Chrissy, so pleased to see you've been able to get out today and enjoy yourself! The pain is improving, so it is hopefully, all up from here.

Same for you Tammy, I love Byron, haven't been in a while, but I can understand how you'd be able to centre yourself after a trip there.

Midnight, sorry about your back, I hope it is improving! I hope you get clear Mammo results this week.

I had a day in bed this week after pulling a muscle in my lower back, thankfully the rest and a deep tissue massage, which brought tears to my eyes, fixed it!

It's getting very cold here and we've had a lot much rain this weekend, it has been easy to do nothing.

    I wish everyone a good week...take care M

Tammy, it is great you are feeling relaxed I hope you can keep that good feeling going.

I am going to join the sore backs. I can't believe I tripped on the handle of a plastic shopping bag.  Moral to that story is not to be slack, put the shopping away! A good excuse to hop into bed with the electric blanket.

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.  I had roast dinner with the family and a very relaxing break. Hugs to all x

Chrissy - great to hear you ventured out and enjoyed yourself yay!

Tammy, good to hear you had a good time in Byron, it is funny isn't it - we just keep on going doing too much and then need to get over it all somewhere - sounds like you had a nice place to renew yourself.

Ariom, Midnight and Kylie - not good about you two hurting your backs!! Take care!  I was very ill on Saturday night, all my own fault though. I overdosed on gluten lol. While I'm gluten intolerant, it's not to the point that I can't have any at all, just have to be careful and only have a bit now and then. Well Saturday I had way, way too much. Ended up throwing up Saturday night, and sitting on the loo most of yesterday. I think I've learned my lesson.

On a good note, I heard from Kate on the weekend. She's had a rough time, but is going ok at the moment. Her latest CT scans shows no progression, which is wonderful news.

    Love to you all

    Trish

hello girls, my back is sore, but i never hurt it, it just started by it self. hubby was rubbing it and down by the tail bone, there is a little pea sized lump there. the pain i wake up to is not pleasant, aches right around into hips and tummy. haveben  blaming the bed. so hope it comes ok soon.

Kylie. hope you do to, its  very tiring having a sore part of any of your body,

I showed you some photo alittle time back of my sisters knee after her fall, she had mri and it appears that there are so many torn ligaments that her knee is not attatched to her leg anymore they are saying and the middle is out to the side, but they also say the ct scan showed heaps of small factures to the foot, so its a big op on the horizon for her. and speaking of knees. glad you getting about chrissy, hope pain is gettting better.

    trish you poor darling, that is rough. hope you ok. glad  kate ok and no worse for her, Poor lady;

    Karen, how are you sweety.

Ariom my love to you and carol, lovely garden girl. and  Tammy glad you rekaxed and thanks to you and to all for caring about me. XXXX

    hi ladies

my bleeding stopped about a week and half ago now so im feeling better about that. It wasnt tamoxifen related it was because of my fibroid. But last week I got a cold...but im slowly getting over that.

Got an appointment with the gyno at the end of this month to discuss what if anything I want to do with my fibroid. I want to preserve whatever fertility I have left after chemo so im not 100% sure wether to leave it be. hoping in the next few weeks to get notification of my surgery date!!!!

Aussie - I meant to tell you I love your planting!  Hope you enjoy your last day off today! It is tomorrow you go back to work?

Mel - hopefully the gynie will be able to help you make a decision. Can you have the fibroid out without having everything else out?

Chrissy - how are you going? Is the pain starting to ease off a little bit yet?
Racy - how are you going? Is all well in your part of the world?

Midnight - if you have a lump and you are getting pain, you should be going to the dr about it.  Have you seen anyone about it?

All's well here, have as good a day as you can girls!

Ooo Aussie. love the way  you have done that planting and when it grows it will look stunning!

Mel I had a  uterine fibroid and they can remove them without taking everything...........everything for me is still intact doesn't work coz I'm old but it's still there but the fibroid is gone.  Talk to your gyny as I'm sure it would just be a D & C to get rid of it as it was for me.  Good luck!

Annette, I agree will Trish, if you have a lump that is causing you pain you really do need to get it checked out.  It well may be nothing but if it's not, better to get it small and early.  Go get checked out girl, you know we all worry about you!

Hi ya Racy!  How are you doing?

Trish pain level has gotten to the stale mate stage.........and what is that you are asking.......see I can read your mind.....lol. Well, stale mate stage is it's no worse but no better, it just seems to hang, enough so that I still need to take pain meds to be comfortable.  I think I am just trying to do too much, thinking back to last time when I got home and what I could do.  I was forgetting that that was after a month and right now I'm just two days past two weeks and at this point last time I was still in hospital.  Hmmm I think I just need to pull my head in and do nothing for a while longer.......lol.

Thanks for letting us know about Kate, I was wondering how she was doing.  I do wish she would come back to the boards, but each to their own.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

    Hi all

Thanks all about the kind words about my garden. I found out that I'm not as fit or young as I used to be doing that garden, I had to pull out hedges on both sides which was hard work. When I had my other home I was in the garden for hours and didn't feel as bad, but then I hadn't had 3 surgeries. Planting is fine it's taking plants out that is really tiring.

Yes I go back to work tomorrow and am working 5 days straight then have Monday off. Not looking forward to it.

This holidays I made myself go out and do things like meeting friends for lunch etc, so I have had a good 2 weeks off.

Yay Carol!  Glad you went out and enjoyed yourself!  I can't wait to see your garden once it has established itself so you'll have to take some more photos.  Yeah I hear you on not as young as we used to be......lol.......we have a tendency to listen to our head until our body screams at us for doing what now is too much.

Hope you get throught the 5 days straight before you get another break.

hi girls I have been reading along and enjoying your posts! Chrissy sounds like every day you are getting a little better Carol I enjoyed seeing your garden. We live on 2 acres of bush  and we have lots of grass and weeds growing but I haven't the inclination in the cold rainy weather to get out and weed! Good on you for creating such a pretty garden. I went out with my BC group ( haven't been all year) and it was so good to catch up with them. 90 percent are over 10 years ned with grade 3 lymph node involement very encouraging to chat to them. One of the ladies had a new occurance in the other breast and they now do chemo on a weekly basis not every 3 weeks like I had. It was interesting to see the changes in treatment.  I was shocked to hear her say that the other breast had never been checked in the whole 3 years since her diagnosis . She found the lump herself!

I will talk to my gyno. I'm a bit freaked as I've never even had a pap smear before and I think a d&c while helpful may not be the best option for someone who isn't sexually active. I'm ok with doctors seeing my breasts but I'm not as confident with the downstairs area.

Melp, you are not alone when it comes to that, we all feel the same way, I know I do but there are times when we need to bite the bullet so to speak and get things done that we are not comfortable with for the sake of our well being.  When they do a D & C you are asleep which is a good thing and you are never alone with a doc, a nurse is always in the room.  Take a deep breath and go see a gyno.........I know you will feel better once you have and that fibroid is sorted.

Wow Delvzy!  Three years and she had't even had a mammo on the other breast? That is neglect and her doctor should be hauled before the ethics committee!  Thank goodness she had the prescience of mind to do self examination.  I'm so glad you enjoyed your get together with yout group and maybe now you will do it a bit more often.

Not happy this morning.........I obviously moved the wrong way in bed last night, heard a pop in my leg with a massive amount of stinging after the pop.  It's very sore this morning and if it doesn't improve today, tomorrow I am ringing the specialist.  I'm a bit peeved as it was doing so well and the pain issue was beginning to resolve now it feels like I'm almost back to square one!!!  All I can say is BOO!!!!

    Have a good day all!

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

Oh Chrissy - you poor darling, I really hope it was one of those "pops" that is just a tendon or something popping into place (I have them all the time when I get up from sitting). But the stinging after isn't a good sign. Bugger!! Bum!!! let us know how you go. (((hugs)))

Mel - you really do need to see the specialist. I understand your fears, and Chrissy was right - a D&C is done under anaesthetic, so you won't be embarrassed about it.  I don't know what the protocols are for pap smears these days (had a hyster 29 years ago and no cervix so no smears), but I would think if you aren't sexually active (and never have been) then it might not be an issue. But you really do need to have the fibroid dealt with (((hugs)))

Delvzy - what a great inspiration to talk to women who are so far out! It's a great reminder that most of us will carry on without any major hurdles. With the chemo every week - that's been around for a while. I've found it depends on who your onc is and what sort of treatment they give. It's still a lot more normal to get three weekly infusions. I've noticed that if taxol rather than taxotere is used, that tends to be weekly a bit more often. My boss has triple + bc and has been doing three weekly treatments - she's now only got one more chemo to do (yay!) and then continues with herceptin till early next year. She's been quite amazing - she hasn't had too many really bad se's and is handling chemo a lot better than I thought she would.

Cold and foggy here this morning, as I look outside my window here at work the world is a very light grey - looks freezing! lol

So sorry you're going through this, Annette, but so glad you are going to the Doctor.

Chrissy, I hope your knee is ok after the "Pop".

MelP, I understand your concerns about having those personal checks done, I had a devil of a time getting my Daughter to go and my Mother hated to go too. It is a moment of being uncomfortable for a lot of peace of mind and the girls here are all right about a D&C being performed under anesthetic. If a Doctor is pre warned about your fears, they will take extra care. Gynos really understand this kind of fear and embarrassment.

Delvsy, I really enjoy the time I spend with my BC group, they are a great group of women. I can't believe how quickly the group is growing, when I started going in Dec 2012 there were about 9, we are now up to 20, all different ages and stages, some in treatment and some from 30 years ago. We meet once a month, but have started going out to lunch and the Movies which is a lot of fun.

Wow, no check for 3 years, that sounds so wrong!

Morning Trish, cold and bleak here today too!

Carol, great job with the planting, that will look great when it kicks in and gets going. Hard work though!

Kylie, I hope your back is feeling better, mine only lasted a few days, thank goodness and is back to normal!

Hi Racy! Sorry if I have missed anyone..Winter is really kicking in making the decision to go to the gym that much harder to fulfill! LOl Take it easy and stay warm...M
