Big hugs Chrissy will be thinking of you.
I am at present snuggles up in bed at my friend's house. She has lovely typical English garden.
Having a wonderfully relaxing time here we spent just chatting and drinking tea and coffee. I just wish we didn't live on opposite sides of the world.

Chrissy - I can understand how your DH feels. My mother came to Australia on a ship after WWII and was as sick as a dog every single day of the trip, she said it was beyond horrible. In 1974 we went on a cruise around the islands, 10 days I think. We were quite worried that she'd be really sick, and she was for the first day - I was too, we had an injection and were fine for the rest of the trip - even though we had some pretty rough seas in the middle of the trip. I was actually sicker than she was, which we weren't expecting.
Yes - it's the most horrible sickness - I've been sick from all sorts of bugs (and post aneasthetics!) and the sea sickness was the worst, can't explain how or why, it was lol. Moira, you are lucky to have good sea legs!
Not till your op now, Chrissy, I'll be thinking of you. Hope you don't have the issues you had with your last knee xoxo
Aly - enjoy your friend, the garden looks delightful.

hi ladies
Ive been having some issues with my periods over the last few days. i finished my normal cycle on the 19th may but a few days ago i got what looked like spotting but the amount is slightly more than just a few spots. i do have a fibroid but that's been stable for a while now. the doctors aren't going to take it out because im still young and hopefully can still have kids. have had spotting before but it hasn't lasted this long the previous time. its only been two weeks since my last cycle so Im freaking out a bit that i may need to have my fibroid out of its maybe the tamoxifen that's doing it. I dont want to have to have more surgery if i can help it... Im seeing my gp tomorrow but she may have to refer me to a gyno i think. im due for my next scan on my fibroid but that's not until august. my ovaries are fine when i had the previous scan and they didnt mention a big thickening of the lining as tamoxifen is prone to do.

Melp I have a fibroid removed a few years ago.......it's just a D & C not a huge thing at all. Have a chat to the Gyno about it......they do have a tendency to cause spotting and with the addition of the Tamoxifen he/she may want to remove it. Having it removed won't stop you from falling pregnant if that's what you want.
Home again for two day and then the big day. At my visit with my doc this afternoon I found out that the ECG that I had on Monday is showing my heart rate at 52.....just a tad slow so he has adjusted one of my BP meds in the hope that it will bring it up to a more normal resting rate. BP was good though, perfectly normal.......at least there is something right about me......hahahaha! Nails done tomorrow and some groceries to get the Friday washing and packing ready for 'O' Day.
Catch you all later!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Thanks girls! I am at present packing........did I mention that I hate packing? I have been asked to include day clothes so I'm trying to decide what is going to be easy on and off as well as comfortable and considering I live in jeans, not an easy task.......lol. The hours are ticking but and not many to go now........I think I'm getting a little nervous but I know I will be okay.
Karen I just love it when you are able to pop in!

Hope it all goes well Chrissy - looks like I might have to join you - my knee is a little better but I can't straighten it.

Damn Sue! I was hoping that injection would help but obviously it's made things worse. Having been there once before I know what I'm in for but I would still recommend the surgery if I'm asked. The knee that has been replaced is great and I can't wait for this one to get to the same stage.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Thanks one and all! I'm finally back in my room, new knee and all.........lol. There was a bit of delay as after they had swabbed me I had a reaction to the disinfectant.........yeah only me, it's a one in a million chance.......lol. Anyway, after having the stuff washed off and some anti histamines and waiting a few hours the knee returned to normal and we could go ahead with the op. Talk about eventful!
I still have two numb legs and a numb bum, but that is slowly wearing off.......so far not feeling any pain and doubt that I will feel too much as the doc has me covered on every front.
Catch you all later!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi girls!
Had a good night and slept quite well.......nurse said she came in every hour to do obs but I only remember two.......now that's a good thing! Bum and left leg have returned to normal and the right with its new knee is still getting there but I have begun to use my pump as the feeling and the pain begin to hit. Alls good though and things are moving along........the drain was taken out of my knee just a little while ago but I still have the catheter (yuk) and of course the IV anti biotics as well as saline and the pain pump...........overall, so far so good and when I see the PT this arvo and they do their assessment I may even be on my feet with a few halting steps........if the assessment says no for today then I will definitely be out of bed tomorrow which means the catheter will be gone as well........ Yay!!!!
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

how long do you expect to stay in Hospital chrissy?
0 -
Annette I will be here for about seven days which is the usual for a total knee replacement and providing all goes well (as it did to start last time) I will be released probably Friday or Saturday next week.

Chrissy, sounds positive
I'm not feeling too good today although better than the last week and a half.
I'm off to the Dr tomorrow as I think I have shingles ...in my left leg. It started a week and a half ago with pain in my left foot. After a couple of days I had pain in my hip (which has been a problem in the past) and pain in my calf, in particular one night I woke with pulsing shooting pains in my calf! I was thinking it may have been my old hip problem with some nerve involvement. Then I got flu like symptoms - massive headache, muscle soreness and chills. I thought I now had the flu. Then I came out in a rash on my foot which over a few days has moved in a single line up past my ankle....shingles??
I'm now living on pain killers and I have started to feel slightly nauseous in the past couple of days. I don't know if Femara has any involvement but when I went to get some pain meds the Chemist assistant questioned me as to whether I thought my symptoms could be a side effect!! So, I off to my GP tomorrow to get a diagnosis and some recommendations on pain meds.
I hope everyone is well (((hugs)))
