Love it, Sue! How romantic, you eloped and here you are with kids and a great hub & fam! Isn't it great to think back on all that stuff and see how far we've all come, especially this past year?

Wicked Hag, indeed!!
And what a great story of how you met and married your hubby!!! Did you guys sing at your wedding? How long have you been married?
It's me and my DH's 20th wedding anniversary next Wednesday! We originally wanted to do something "big" and take a trip to somewhere like Europe or Bora Bora. But when BC came along it sucked up any extra money we had for that. But that's okay. It's just a number, and I'm slap happy to have already made it through to the other side relatively unscathed (and alive!) with my dear hubby by my side! (And gives me another year to get back into that bikini!)

I agree Megan! Like Virginia Slim said ."We've come a long way, baby!"

FireDancer: I'm glad you had such fun & surprises at Nordstroms. Boy - go to work for a day and all sorts of excitement comes down. I've tried to buy mostly 'nude' bras for years since they disappear beneath your clothes - until you unbutton of course.
Susan'sGarden: Please don't change the name of the thread. The group here is fun and the posts make my day. Can't we just make exceptions for all the great ladies posting who are no longer small?

You guys have had me laughing all day! I think since I had to have my expanders removed on Monday, I get the prize for being the flattest now!
For those who asked about my skin with the infection, it was all inside. The exterior looked wonderful. My husband said the PS was totally bummed when he came out as he said everything looked amazing with the exception of the infection being too much to put the implants in. I am going to ask him next week if there is anything I can do with oils or creams to keep the skin supple and hopefully able to advance quickly when we re-start at the end of July.
Now, on the bra size front....I worked at Macy's part time in the home department. Lingerie was part of that so occassionally had to fill in to cover lunches. As an FYI, there is a G cup size. I swear you could wear it like a hat, it was that big.
Sue-how cool that you sing. My daughter was just invited to the final auditions for national tour of Spamalot. So she was in NYC today. Made it to the end but was finally cut. There is a Norstrom's in Columbus Ohio. Easton Towne Center has one, I think and I think there might be another one.
This is definately the best thread to be part of. Keeps me smiling.

Megan youre right!!! We have come a long way!!
Susan - congrats on the 20! My BFF and her husband are celebrating their 20th this month too - they are going to Hawaii (I think I already said that - with the not being able to find a dress) but she was soooooo young when they got married and they waited to have kids. DH and I have been married 14 and pretty much had kids right away so no time alone. He isnt a singer - my troupe sang with the Air Force Band one summer....it was VERY COOL. He is a trumpet player. We got married on his TDY (tour of duty) at Niagara Falls and he went back to work the next day and I flew home....sad but thats a common story with military couples! BFF says she will watch our kids so we can have romantic weekend after all surgeries are finished. We NEVER get to be alone so that will be exciting!
Fluff that is FANTASTIC about your daughter! I never made it to that level...it was more of a hobby for me but I have lots of friends who are in tours or are working in NYC.
and G cup? WHOLLY SCHMOLLEY!!!! Although I know a lady who is so large I always say to my husband "look (as I bend one leg up behind me) from my hip to my knee is like that ladies BOOB...how does she carry those around???"

MinusTwo ~ Don't worry, I won't change the name of the thread! Everyone all started out with good intentions, right?! lol! This thread always gives me a smile! Love the ladies on here!
Fluffqueen~ Your daughter sounds very talented! And I saw Spamalot! LOVED it!! ....That really is such a bummer about the infection. That's a great idea to keep the skin supple! Maybe even "massaging" it? And G cup!? But you know... I was watching that show called "The Voice" and the singer Frenchie was on and I was noticing her..ahem.....ladylumps....and like Sue was saying...how do you carry those things around!?
Sue ~ That's right.. I forgot about your BFF celebrating her anniversary! Did she ever find a dress? Niagra falls~ awww, how romantic! And you and hubby sure do deserve a romantic weekend when all this is done! I want to plan that too when I'm all healed up in about a month. We only have one child and he is 17, so it is easy for us to "get away"... we just need to DO it!

Susan I am happy to report that BFF found a dress just yesterday....but then I spent the morning listening to her bemoan her boobs again so I said "honestly and for real, your boobs are NOT what people see first about you....they are bigger to you than to everyone else!" We never want what we have, do we? Ill get the boobs all set and then complain about the muffin top or the wrinkles or something else.
And today is BJ day for my neighbor!! Hopefully she did well....I cant wait to hear.
And what were you, 15 when you had kids? Kidding....It would be nice if one of mine was 17 but mine are 13 and 11. I didnt plan either one but I was also in my 30's when I started. We'll get that romantic weekend! I am sure of it!

I was gonna ask about your neighbors BJ day (now THAT sounds funny!)..but didn't want you to think I was obsessed with her!
Yeah... tell her your internet boobie friends can't wait to hear how she's doing!!
..and yes, I was 15 when I had my son.

Glad your friend found a dress too! (Does Victoria Secrets still make clothes? I remember seeing a catalog of theirs with clothes (shocking!) in it...but noticed that all the tops were made to be super tight but had lots of room for the boobs. There was no way any of the stuff would fit me.. it woulda had the chest portion of fabric flopping with the wind! But I bet your friend could find lotsa stuff there!)

LOL Well, IM not going to be the one to suggest it! LOL - I think she found it at Dress Barn? She doesnt love it but its a week before her trip and 'it will do' Her problem is she is so teenie otherwise...built like a gymnast with thick arms and legs but a teenie waist. I remember looking for prom dresses and holding up the strapless ones thinking "who in the world is big enough to hold THIS up????" I have NEVER worn a strapless - not even a spaghetti strap dress - EVER. Maybe Ill look into one when I have something to hold it up! Then I could have my very own wardrobe malfunction!
Anyway and as for neighbor - I dont think I will be telling HER that my internet friends ask how she is doing!!! LOL!!! She called me a couple hours ago - groggy but feeling OK right now. She was drugged up clearly though. Ill have to call on her this weekend!

Sue~ LOL about you looking forward to your very first wardrobe malfunction!
Lago~ Another month with the stripper boobs? Are you sure your hubby isn't responsible for this somehow? ... seriously, I'm sorry this is causing you a delay with reconstruction. I know nothing about shingles but heard it can be pretty painful in some cases? Hope you are not in too much pain!

Lago, I am so sorry that your surgery date changed. It will all be worth it in the end.
Hugs,
Eula

Lago - CURSES!!! Ugh I feel bad for ya. I hate the delays as I feel like "Queen of Delay" these days. Sorry you are in my Court now. I see PS on Tuesday and I am going to try to nail down a surgery date. I am SO done with my ONE lopsided Coconut. Hang in there GF!!!0

Hi everyone! I've been so busy the last few days and was in Disneyland (I know, I know) before that so I haven't had time to catch up on this thread.
Lago, I'm sorry about the delay. And, a whole month! That must be frustrating. I'm having to wait six weeks post-surgery for a fill because my PS didn't have any earlier appointments. No wonder we're referred to as "patients."
Susan, I sneaked a peek at your foobs on Timtam's photo forum and I'm officially jealous. They are so beautiful and natural-looking (and by the way, not very small). And, congrats on your 20th anniversary! We just made it to our 5th last year.
SueBee - I hear ya about the strapless dresses. I have never been able to hold one up. It saves me a lot of time shopping for dresses because I can rule out anything without straps!
Fluffqueen - sorry to hear about the setback. Is the second go-around with expansion faster or easier since you've already been expanded once? I hope so.
Fire-dancer - your Nordstrom experience sounds like something to look forward to at the end of this reconstruction process. What a nice story about the Nordstrom brothers wanting to give back. Did you post photos yet?

Thanks everyone… yes Susan I'm afraid I am in a lot of pain. Started taking narcotics today. Helps but then they have their own wonderful SE too. I am now very bitchy. can you tell.

kittymama ~ Awww, thanks for the compliments on my foobs. I was thinking you already had your exchange.. but you are still filling? I must be getting you mixed up with someone! I have a soft spot for Disneyland. We feel dorky admitting it.. but my hubby, son and I just love vacationing there...we ALWAYS have a fun time. Our son is 17 and we started going when he was about 2, and have ended up going probably every 2 years. Last trip was December of '09. So I was thinking we are due for one this year....if we can swing it ~ thought it might be a nice place to celebrate my one year out from diagnosis in October.
lago~ Bad enough to take narcotics? That really sucks. I didn't have any "physical" SE from the narcs..but I remember that they just made me feel "out of it"...I didn't like that feeling. Do they have any idea how long it takes to recover? Or is it totally an individual thing? The pain is not from the "rash" hurting , correct? It's kind of a "nerve" thing? Man, just so unfair that you get done with chemo, than have to deal with this crap. And no.. I can't tell that you are bitchy...but you usually don't complain, so you must be in alot of pain. Hope it is shortlived ~ hugs (gentle!) to you!

Susan, don't tell anyone I said this, but Disneyland was a blast!!! It would be a great way to celebrate your one year out. Even though I lived in Orange County, California, I hadn't been in years. Have you been on Astro Blaster? I must have ridden it 10 times on this trip (again, that'll be our secret).

Susan I have pain in areas beyond the rash. Yes it's nerve pain. I still can't get anyone to give me an ETA on when the pain will start getting better. They just all say it will.0
-
lago, that's terrible. nothing is worse than pain! i hope you feel better soon. by the way, i had to spend a night in your city because my connecting flight was cancelled. i stayed on superior, off of michigan avenue and went shoe-shopping! too bad i had to leave the next day.

Lago I am so sorry....I hope it passes quickly!

kiddymama if it was Tuesday I could have met you. I was right around the corner on Huron doing PT. If it was yesterday I was in too much pain to go anywhere.

Lago - so sorry for the setback and thinking of you!!! ...hope you aren't uncomfortable for too much longer sending lotsa hugs your way - we are here for you!!!!

Lago - I had shingles about 6 months before being diagnosed. With my doc's okay, I used Gold Bond Medicated lotion and a hydracortisone (Aveeno, I think) to help with the pain and itching directly where the rash was located. I think it took about 3-4 weeks before it started feeling better, and probably another 8 weeks before it started fading. "It sucks" is the nicest thing I can say about shingles. Hang in there, though - this too shall pass!
PS - If it helps, picture this - my spot was right between my tailbone and the small of my back. For about two weeks, I wore tube socks over my hands when I went to bed to avoid scratching. I think my husband chuckled the whole time because I was smokin' hot - NOT!!

It's been a while since I've been on this site and I'm usually just a "creeper" but I have to tell you all that this is such a fantastic forum for so many ladies going through this stage of their breast cancer journey.
Lago, hang in there. You sound like you have a good attitude which will really carry you far.
On another note, just to make you all feel like you are the sane ones in the room, I did go back and ask to have some saline removed when I got to 360 cc. They took out 20 cc and I had relief right away and felt like I was instantly at a more comfortable size. That was a month ago and now I am so used to these foobs that I was actually considering calling them back (again) to add the 20cc back. Of course, I don't have the nerve to do this, but by taking out that little bit, they can no longer put 400 cc implants in. I am restricted to 375 at most. And after reading all of your happy blogs about the B/C cups, I'm thinking I might be one of the sorry ones who wished she had gone larger.... Oh well. In the end, I believe we all adjust to our new size as if God gave it to us to begin with, don't you think?

SandyBeach ~ I really agree with your last statement there! I'm a couple weeks out now from exchange and I can say that I will have one day that I will think they are too small...and then just yesterday I was thinking they are too big! It's crazy I tell ya! The best thing I can do is just step back and embrace that "this is the new me" and stop questioning it and just be happy to be moving forward.0
-
well said, ladies! I think it's a normal human reaction to second guess your size after everything we've been thru w/TE's, but for the most part I think it's an adjustment that we just need time to get used to, after all (unless of course your implant size is waaay off the mark from what you expected) - we have a brand new body part(s) to get to know! ;-)

I agree!!! I think Ill always wonder if I am big enough now....but to see my sad little leftie I know no matter how big I get, its MILES from where Ive been!
Anyway - update on neighbor BJ! I stopped by today because I picked up her son from school....we did a little show and tell with each other. She looks GREAT. She did NOT get 420's afterall...somewhere in the neighborhood of 375 I think she said. The nurse was clever - she did the trying of the implants before the surgery and the nurse wouldnt tell her how many cc's were in each one...so my friend wouldnt dwell on the CC's and just go with what she liked. ANYway, she looks like once the swelling goes down and she isnt in 2 bras, she looks like a nice C. She looks like they will fit her body when they are all done....but she is in a lot of pain! DUH!!!
It was hysterical that we were showing and touching each other (not full monty - just the outside the bra parts) but our sons kept running in and out of the room - I told her I felt like I was being naughty because our conversation and actions would come to a dramatic halt when the boys were around. Kind of like when youre caught by your parents when your a teenager! LOL But her boobs felt really nice - she said it hurt though when I touched them...one more than the other which disturbed her too. I said probably the amount of pocket work she had to have done. I think the only reason she opened up so much was I seem to know what we're talking about - and I get my own BJ on my left one soon enough.

interesting, Sue - must have been kind of nice to be able to feel what her augmentation was like - I hope it gave you an idea of how/what your native side will feel like...
glad she looked good for her frame... was it helpful to see what 375 looks like for an augmentation? After all the talk we do on here about the exchange of the MX side(s) I would imagine it's helpful to chat about what your native side could feel/be like...
