Eulabt, what size did you end up with?

Okay, so I told my husband that we're talking about losing 1/4, not 1/3, potentially and isn't that much better?  And he said, no.  "What if I told you I was losing 1/4 of my thing?  Would that be okay?"  And yes, he really did call it a "thing".

That was my laugh for the day!

SandyBeach, I was filled to 360 and got a 280 implant. Natrelle style 20. My husband could care a less about my boob size, but of course thought I should see if I could go bigger. He is the one now telling me how good it looks even if I am small. I have a pretty small frame, that is why I got such a small implant.

    Hey Ladies!

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow OOOOOWWWWWW

I got a fill today - I think this one put me over the edge!  I got 80ccs again and am in the 400 club - 415 to be exact.

We tried on implants on the natural side and decided that I will go with 350 - we didnt talk about cup size....we talked more about how it looked in relation to the rest of me.  It LOOKS like a nice full B or small C.  Thats good with me.  He said one more fill before the exchange and that I am pretty close.  I have a C cup sports bra on now and am trying to figure out how to cammo the left one....poor thing is just hanging out like a little girl in a ballroom.  LOL.

And He said mid-june will be exchange!  YEAH!  So one fill ont he 24th of May and then 3 weeks to exchange. He cannot schedule me until the 24th but that's the layout of timeframe.  YIPPIE!!! Light at the end of the tunnel!!!  EDAY!!!!!  Well, at least I know EWEEK!!!!

    Thats the news from here!!!

eulabt & Sandbeach ~ you gals are cracking me up!  I totally agree that they should have let us try on bras with implants while we were "deflated"!! I'm going to suggest that to my PS for the future!  Have you guys gotten any advice from whippetmom over on the implant sizing 101 thread?  I went from 430cc TE's (extremely underfilled ~ I think they had a 600cc capacity ~ I have a 31.5 inch ribcage) so they were not "hard" at all and were not at their full projection. I exchanged to 457cc.  I fit into most of the same bras that I was wearing with my TE's.  I'm wearing a 36B Danskin sportsbra.  Victoria Secret measured me as a 36C....and I'll be going to Nordstrom when I get the "clear" for underwires and according to legend..will be measuring a 32F. Tongue out

I really like the way I look in clothes...tops fit, nice perky shape, "slim" look, no cleavage bulging out, but I can "vamp it up" with a push-up bra if I choose.

Sue~  E-DAY! E-DAY!!!  Next month ~ that's fantastic!!! Sorry to hear your last fill put you in pain :(   Sounds like you are settling on a size ~ I think you will look fabulous! :)

identtwins ~ You need to contact TimTam (I think whippetmom can help to) to get access to the site.  Normally, you have to be a member here for awhile before you are allowed access ~ but sometimes they make exceptions. :)

SandyBeachTell you guiy you don't care what size his junk is as long as he knows how to use it. Men are the onese hung up on size. So tell him unless he's started swinging the other way size doesn't matter (well, unless he's the size of his thumb).

SueBeeBC I found Aleve help with the pain.

Lago funny!!!  My Dh was thinking he needed a PA to keep up with me...but I told him that would be a step too far!  Im on Motrin now and will try aleve if that doesnt work.  I think Ill do a vicodin for tonight - I have some left.

Susan - Ill be curious to see what the final amount and size will be.  Im 2 inches smaller than you are in the ribs but it sounds like Ill be getting about a 450 in my right.  Will that make me a 32 H?  LOL....only time will tell!  Oh one more fill - one more fill!!!!!  Ill be curious to see if he stuffs another 80ccs next time.  I may have to say 'go with the minimum' on that.

Sandy Beach, Your husband's analogy is hilarious! I laughed out loud at that one. From your posts I think we are similar in size. It will be helpful to track each other.

Tomorrow I go for fill #6 and this may be my next to last fill. My fills are 50 ccs each time and only the last one made me very sore, so I'm kind of anxious! I have several questions about sizing... Whippetmom's advised at least 425 high profiles for my proportions. Currently my 275 TE's have 300ccs (250ccs on the prophy side). Hope I don't have much overfilling to do. I have a hard time sleeping with these things. My exchange is scheduled for mid-July.

Redsky - Whippetsmom had the same suggestion for me.  I will end up slightly larger than that...mostly because I went and tried on implants with my natural side and really liked the 325's but then went with the 350's....the 325's were nice but PS said that I would lose a little size once they were underneath which makes sense.  He thought the 350 on the natural side would be very propotionate for me and was comfortable with my skin integrity on the MX side to continue filling.  I will have one more fill in 2 weeks then wait 3 for exchange.  My TE is already overfilled by 65ccs and will probably get another 35-40 more.  I hope that's all....the 80cc fills are killing me now.

Sue - so sorrry you feel crappy with the new fill, but hopefully in a day or two you'll feel better...I'm telling you - 450 will be great on your frame, coming even from me ;-)  -  as a DD " measurer" being a 32 makes the cup sooooo much smaller...I went shopping today and it's difficult to find 32 D's (...or DD's for that matter Tongue out) at places like TJ Maxx or Marshalls which is a drag, because, truth be told, I will more than likely NEVER be buying an $80 bra at Nordies outta my own pocket ;-) but seriously, looking at the cup size they are so not gigantic to me, or maybe it's because I'm getting used to them...hmmm!!! ;-)

Susan - you kill me - "according to legend you'll measure a 32 F!!! hahahaah!!!!!!!

...although I WILL be waiting patiently for your fitting measurement!!!  Wink   "B"...or "C"   ..."B"...or "C"...   ...."D" (????) Laughing LOL!!!!!

RedSkyAtNight, I will be thinking of you tomorrow!  I hope your fill goes okay.  Make sure you take something beforehand.  That seems to help.  The sleeping part IS the worst, isn't it?  I wake up every single time I change position because the foobs hurt.  And there is no hope of sleeping on my side.  I live for my little pillows.  All shapes and sizes.  And they have to travel with us - in my suitcase.  I think they're more important to remember than my clothes!

Sue, you poor thing.  80cc's at a time sounds very painful!  If you can handle 80, I think you'll breeze through 35-40 if that's all you need next time.

I managed to get in and meet with the PS today.  It was great and my husband went with me.  She said something to the effect that she knew I was in there asking for more because of him and he agreed!  It sounds bad but it was actually a funny moment and I was appreciative that he was willing to take the blame so I wouldn't feel so silly changing my mind... again.  Anyway, she added 30cc's and I am now overfilled to 370 with the plan to put 400cc implants in.  The best news is that she said I can keep my June 6 exchange date.  Yaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!!

Now I just have to make sure I still fit in the sundress I was planning to wear to my son's college graduation next weekend!

    Sue,

Sorry you're in pain. Hope it will subside soon. It sounds like many of us reach a threshold towards the end of the expansion. You are on your way!

I have been stretching religiously and now my main discomfort is when sleeping. I keep waking up when I get myself into a painful position. I wonder if the small TEs I have are giving me excessive pressure against my ribs, muscle and skin. They are kind of like small oval balls and they are only going to get harder :o

...and yes, the TE's suck for sleeping, I so remember that and feel for you!...I have been sleeping on my side, finally (not the stomach yet...I can only dream how good that will be!) it was wierd how I could roll over to my side so much easier once the TE came out, you'll be there soon, redskyatnight ...hang in there, ladies!!! ;-)

So glad you kept your exchange date!

After reading the last page of this thread I actually had to check which thread I was on - maybe it should be renamed "B to DD girls"??

Megan thanks for the encouragement.  Right now this thing feels HUGE but I am sure thats the newness of the fill plus the tightness.  Its hard to imagine a nice soft pliable breast being there someday.  Right now I could do the Hula with my Coconut Bra.  It feels awful.    And Ill be fighting you at that VS sale next January when Im all dropped and fluffed!!

Sandy - SO glad you keep your Eday!!!  I should be about a week after you if all goes as planned!

redsky - I am now overfilled but I noticed in between fills a strong softening and almost like a shrinking going on.  I asked PS about it today and he said the fluid can shift around than the edges of the TEs roll under to give the impression that they are shrinking a little in between fills.  I do definitely notice quite a lot of softening....except near the port, they are very pliable and even movable....but now that I am overfilled, not sure if I will get that again.  I CAN sleep on my sides now...even after a fill.  On my natural side I use a folded pillow so my arm doesnt lie across my TE and when on my Right side, I tuck the edge of the pillow or my hand under my side, near the TE so alleviate pressure.

And Nolo - we all have the best intentions about staying small....I think its the actual measurements vs the look that throws us off!  And boob greed.  LOL

Nolo - I went into this expansion totally sure of staying large B/small C...I may measure out a DD, but the cup size does not look like what you imagine a DD to look like.  I am a 32 measurement and the cup size is MUCH smaller than, lets say a 38 DD.  Granted I am bigger than I was pre-BC, but I seriously look like a natural size C.  I never understood it either, and am still kinda floored by the letter, but when I look in the mirror I certainly don't see gigantic boobs...they were definitley bigger feeling/looking during the TE's.  Such a strange thing, but it is true!

Well Megan no bras for me!  My insurance covers post-mastectomy bras in lieu of reconstruction.  I think Ill take my recon and augmentation over the cost of a few bras though!  It wont stop me from going to get properly fitted though and maybe a couple of those expensive ones...but then it'll be Victoria Secret (or walmart - LOL) for me!

Had my 6th fill yesterday and it went pretty well- now at 300/350ccs. I'm not as sore this time. I feel like all of the pec stretches and stretches lying back on the big ball  along with taking meds before the fill have made this time less painful and tight. I am getting close. 1-2 more fills may be it and I am scheduled for my exchange July 21. My ps would like 4-6 weeks from last fill; a longer wait is optimal. Got some great feedback from Whippetmom and I feel encouraged now. Hoping to look like a small c in clothes. Already fit fully into a 36c bra at this point. Want to watch for good skin integrity as my skin looks shiny after the fills. Lower pole is where my fullness is which is a good thing I was told. Had alloderm placed there to provide support. We'll see how it goes...

Anyone else experiencing tight shiny skin ?

redsky - I did experience shiny skin and even a couple stretch marks, but I kept moisturizing and the NP told me that because my skin was only temporarily being stretched with TE's I more than likely wouldn't have lasting effects, she also reminded me that their job was to protect the integrity of the skin and they would be watching... - and after exchange I have no evidence of stretch marks or skin issues now...ask your PS office anyway, always good to check in with them...

Sue - although it was great to not have to pay out of pocket, I think the BEST part was just having the fitting - it was the 1st time I felt pampered (as far as the boob-stuff goes) and taken care of.  The women are so knowledgeable and sensitive to our situations and the fitting is the important part, anyway...I'm looking forward to shopping at VS, too!  I must admit I am not a "full-time-fancy-bra-wearer" at heart, so even after the collection of beauties I got at Nordies, I still go to the T-shirt bras first! I found some Calvin Kleins at Marshalls that are comfy and great for everyday... 'sigh' ...sadly my appreciation for sexy & sassy as everyday-bra-wear is not all that strong! Tongue out ...I'm tryin' though!!!

Megan Im with you....I like them as plain as possible!  My BFF was complaining yesterday that her size only comes in nude or white and was thrilled to find one with a little lace on it.  I thought to myself "whats the big deal?  I hate colored ones because always end up with the hot pink bra and the white t-shirt to wear." But I just nodded.  Im not allowed to complain about boobs anymore.  LOL.  But I think a fitting would be great....sounds like its important to have a nice fit afterwards anyway.

Redsky - my skin is also shiny.  Im not worried because PS isnt.  He did say that the TE is holding its shape and place nicely and I shouldnt need much pocket work.  Im really happy with that.

I had left mastectomy 2005 then rt mast with tissue expanders in both Feb 2011.  Like you I chose to stay small ~ I'm 5'7" and 133 lbs. w/30" ribcage.  (was a small A now full A to small B) The left expander filled 360cc nicely rounded, rt expander slid to side a bit so he overfilled to 390 cc to compensate.  My last fill in April (90cc's)  was painful.  Had my exchange done on May 5th (both Mentor 300 cc round textured high profile silicone) and the rt one looks pretty normal but stiff & rounded, the left one has a flat spot on projection rather than rounded and apparently this one is a little swollen.  Has anyone ever experienced this?  Will they change shape at all (drop and fluff) ? I know I'm only 7 days out from surgery but any info from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ditan3- I had my exchange 3 days before you and also went with a similar size. I am 5'6 1/2", 117 lbs and 28 1/2 inch ribcage. I have Natrelle style 20's- 280cc's. My left one is a little flat and I now has to start messaging both per my PS. I would say I am a large A to small B as well. I am hoping that they perk up a bit., I can now wear a push-up bra and they look great in a bra, but kinda flat it I don't have one on. I would also love to know when other people experienced the drop and fluff.

Hi Diane! Congratulations on exchange :-) ...definitley give the implants some time to "drop & fluff".  I am about 8 weeks out and I have begun to notice some changes (for the better!).  I had rippling I was concerned about, still have some but it's definitley not as noticable as it was 2 weeks out, I still have a 'shelf' on one side I didn't anticipate, but it really isn't noticable to others like it is to me...  I guess what I'm saying is give it time, I know I still need to wait another month or so to really "see" what they will look like...alot will change in the next couple months, hopefully the issues you are noticing will subside, but definitley give them some time - hope you are feeling well!

eulabt - just noticed you posted as I replied - hope you are feeling well post-exchange, it's been a long process and after exchange we all want to know what to expect right away, but I am learning from these threads to give it time... :-)

also - check out exchange city thread for more info from great ladies, it's under the breast reconstruction category, I believe!
