Implant Exchange (oYo) ~ Anyone go/stay SMALL?? (B cup)

Neighbor BJ update!! Woot Woot! lol!
Okay.. this sounds bad, but I'm glad to hear she's in alot of pain. I just couldn't figure out how these augmentations (of 375cc!) that go under the muscle without TE's could NOT be painful! Is her incision in the IMF? Does she have 6 week arm restrictions like we do? So you say she looks like a nice C? ... but will she measure out a DD?
Actually, seriously, I'll be curious to see if she measures out in bra cup size.. what she actually "looks" like. Though I would think augmentation implants wouldn't need to be as wide as they do for mastectomy implants. Hmmmm... quick... go measure the width of her implants!

You guys crack me up....excuse me, Can I MEASURE you for my internet friends? LOL!! And Megan yes it felt nice to see/feel them because its NOTHING like my TE now...she has a nice transition from chestplate to breast tissue unlike my dramatic hamburger bun lifting off my chest!
I think 375 on my native side would look and feel great. I dont know what that would mean for my expansion side though. My TE is 350 and I dont know my much my PS is willing to stretch me. He SAID he would let me go as big as I wanted but I dont want to mess with the integrity of what is there. TO-DAY I am thinking 300/325 and 450 but Ill have to discuss that with PS on Tuesday.
She was also worried a little that they were smaller than she imagined they would be (and she is still swollen of course - she may go down a lot) but I think they match her frame and wont look like an obvious BJ which was a concern.
She didnt say anything about restrictions but at least for now she is on her OWN restrictions...it hurts for her to do a lot of things so while she can move about the house well, doing some things for herself isnt easy - one of the first things she said was "if I feel like this, I can only begin to imagine how this felt for you".
Maybe we will hit Nordstroms together and be Breast Friends? LOL!!!

Augmentations are a whole new ballgame; there is still breast tissue on top of the implant. I'd guess they can use the smaller implants which don't have enough width or volume for reconstruction purposes.
That's why, no matter how many CC's of silicone you have, the width of the implant will usually dictate a D or DD cup. Implants simply ARE a certain measurement, to fit an underwire around them at the base is typically a D/DD. (Unless you stay quite small)
Which also explains why it's not the easiest job to find a proper bra; without that breast tissue and the nipple areola complex, there is less to fill up the bra cups.
And that, my friends, is why people say "OMG I look like a C and I'm wearing a DD"
I really like explaining things, mostly to myself.
It's still surprising, even when we know to expect it! I wonder if after E-day, I too will be surprised?

Cameron thank you for that FINE explanation!!!! I get it now! I cant wait to see how this all plays out with my one natural with implant and my one mx side. The anticipation is killing me!
0 -
Sue, you are priceless, I wish I knew who did and didn't get it, so I could PM them! LOL That was possibly my most concise, straight to the point explanation thus far...

I still say y'all are smoking crack!
And I'm gonna shop high and low until I find a Nordy bra that fits as a B or C, damnit! I don't care if I have to buy a 40B and have it altered! And why are you accusing me of having a nipple areola complex, Cameron?!?? ~ Sorry.. it's the end of a looonnngggg week for me and I'm feeling quite giddy!
Sue ~ I think it will be great if you and BJ become breast friends! lol! Interesting that she feels it may be too small...but she should "fluff" later? ..... The 300/325 and 450..that would be the size Megan got, correct? You guys are similiar in size, right? ..and she seems happy and says it looks like a nice C .... now if she would only post a PICTURE you could get an even better idea if it would be right for you. (No pressure, Megan!

Lago - I know, I know....it feels funny to type BJ too...but it is what it is! LOL!!!
Susan - Neighbor cracked up when I said she would drop and fluff....I was doing everything to not say "take off your bra, I want to SEE them!" LOL - after the photo boards, I sorta expect it now!!! You show me yours, Ill show you MINE! HA HA HA
Megan - yeah no pressure....you could always text message them to us if your cell takes photos. Hmmmmm? LOL!!!

Thanks, Lago. I have been wondering why she was interested in her neighbor's BJ. What was up with that??? Post after post I been seeing BJ and thinking kinky. Now I know she meant Boob Job? hee hee.
I am with you. A rose is a rose and a BJ is a BJ....

I too wondered about the "BJ". It was like reading a second language and having to convert it every time I see it. Maybe it should be FJ anyway... Foob Job....
0 -
How about "BoJo" oh wait that's just as bad if you pronounce it incorrectly?
0 -
I'm sticking with the traditional "augmentation".
reason #1 It makes me look like I've had some book-learnin'.
reason #2 BOTH my PS and the PA have told me that once my scars heal, I'll look like I had an augmentation. If they would have said BJ, I'd certainly have stormed out, angrily, shaking my fist at them. I'm cautiously optimistic about what they've told me though, I can't get my hopes up that high. I fear rippling, basically!

OK ok, I am facing my computer laughing out loud and my husband is thinking I am losing it.
I went with Boob Job (AKA BJ) to set apart her ordeal from our 'reconstruction'. I kinda knew as soon as I hit submit that the BJ would cause a stir....I can go with BA if it will clear things up! We could go with FJ although for me, my right one is my foob and the left one is getting a BA as I will have my breat tissue. Either way, its better than naming them Leftie Lucy and Righty Rita.
ANYway, the neighbor update is finished anyway - she's all done, looks great...didnt go as big as expected, and cant believe the amount of pain that its causing. Phew.

just popping in to wish all the momma's a great day!!! I hope the sun is shining by you like it is here...I'm finding this mother's day especially sweet after these past months - I wish you all a peaceful day doing what brings you joy!!!

Happy Belated Mothers Day to you, Megan, and to ALL the mom's on this site. I agree that it was especially sweet this year. My mother-in-law was out of town for my entire event, from diagnosis through surgery, etc. When I saw her for the first time yesterday we both started crying. Very unexpected!
One strange outcome for me this spring has been that I have not had my usual horrible hay fever. I am on Tamoxifen and can't find any correlation but I swear, in all my life, I've never had such a wonderful spring with almost no allergies!
I have a question for all of you who've had your exchange.... How much smaller did you actually become once the TE's were removed and the implants were in place? The PS's office keeps telling me that my projection will come down and because the implants are softer than the TE's, the muscle will be pushing them in a bit. I just can't gauge what we're talking about here! I'm still tempted to postpone my exchange surgery and request even more cc's be added in order to keep a similar size to what I have now. I wish I could tell what the different implants would look like on me (and more importantly, in my clothes!)

SandyBeach, I would say that I am about 1/3 smaller than the TE's. I am just a tad bit larger than my pre-BC size. I fit into all of my old sports bras and bras. I was hoping to be just a little bit larger, but am very happy with how I look 1 week out!

Thanks Eula! That's very helpful and confirms what I was thinking. I might just have to work up the nerve to call my PS's office back for more fill. They're going to think (or know) that I am one high maintenance patient! I've been back and forth with them so many times...

SandyBeach- I even called my PS office a couple of days before surgery and asked the PS to bring the next size implant to the surgery. He did, but my pocket was too small for the implant, so he went with the original size. I am happy with how I look, but another fill to get me into the next size would have looked good too. My PS was too concerned with my muscle tearing from the larger implant. Good luck!

Eulabt,
Wow, 1/3 sounds like a lot. Would you say that most of the decrease comes from not having the "bulging" in your upper pole as you did with the TEs? Thanks!

SandyBeach - My exchange is scheduled for 6/17 and I'm a bit nervous about the size also. I feel huge now but if I lose 1/3 I'm not sure where that will leave me - smaller than I was before BC for sure. I went for my last fill on Friday and told them that I think I want another fill next week and now I'm not sure what to do!! Are you overfilled? And what size are you filled to and what size implant are they recommending?
0 -
Nolo, I hate that I don't know what size my TE's are so I'm working at a loss here. My TE's are filled to 340 cc right now and as I mentioned earlier (and am embarrassed to say) I WAS at 360 and had them take out 20 cc's about a month ago. If I had left the 360 cc's in, I had the option of 375 or 400 size implants. With only 340, the max they can do is 375. But the projection is the same on both of these implants and the difference would be more cleavage (with the 400's)and they would sit taller on my chest wall, according to the PS. She said 375 was a full B, 400 was a B/C.
Don't you wish we could "try them on"? We'd know right away if it's what we had in mind!

Come to think of it, the PS should let us "fill the bra" with the implant before the expanders become too large. That way we can get a better feel for the size. So in the middle of February I was at 340 and went to 400 and they said that I could make the exchange appointment for six weeks. I went out to the desk to make the appointment and they told me he was booked until June! So I went back the next day and made them take out the extra 60 and just got it put back in last Friday. Do you know what kind of implant you are getting? Your surgery is 11 days before me so stay in touch and let me know how things go! How tall are you?
0 -
I am 5'6" and weigh 126 lbs but normally I'm about 10 lbs heavier. That is the one perk of cancer... It's the only thing that actually got me to stop eating/drinking sugar, alcohol and most processed foods! The weight came right off!
Nolo, what size implant are you looking at? I'm so glad to hear that you got them to take out the 60cc and then put it back in. It makes me feel so much better about my own "fill, unfill, fill". I am such a wimp and my husband is dying for me to call the PS and ask for more. I told him to call! Even though I don't drink alcohol as a rule anymore, I'm actually having a glass of wine right now to work up the nerve! Isn't that silly? I don't know what I'm afraid of! Well, actually I do. I'm pretty sure they'll have to reschedule my whole surgery! Arghhhhhh!

Wine already?? Wish I could join! Glad to hear someone else is just as crazy as I have been with these fills! When I was at my last fill I told them that I think I want to go a little bigger and the nurse laughed because at the last fill I told them I felt like a porn star! She checked and because I'm six weeks until surgery they said I could do one more fill this week. Little do they know that I only want 25cc and not the 60 that they have been putting in. When I was at 400 the PS said a 350 implant for a b cup but I would rather go for the 375 implant so I'm going for the 425 fill. I'm a shorty - 5'2" and 120, ribcage 29. Was small 36b BC. If you do a fill this week hopefully you can keep your appointment!! call!!

Nolo,
I was never even able to fill out an A cup before. My husband is the one with boob greed, for sure! But he's a true sweetie and part of me feels like, if this is so important to him, do I really care?
I just wish I had the option of 400 again... But 375 might be just right. The beauty of the B cups are that you can enhance with a padded bra, or keep them smaller with no bra at all! I love options when you're trying to make clothes work!

SandyBeach,
Very familiar with the husband boob greed! I'm sure you will keep us all up to date with your exchange. Sounds like 375 will be good for you. Do you know the style and projection?
0 -
Well, I called my PS. They're going to call me back with a new surgical date. (As I suspected). A bit of a shame as I was hoping to be able to sleep comfortably in a matter of weeks but in the end, I guess it will be all good. I actually got the woman who does the fills on the phone by chance and she was not especially happy with me but very businesslike.
I think my PS uses the Mentor round high profile silicone implants.
Now off to do yard work after that glass of wine. Oh my!

Nolo1098- I would agree with the pole being gone. It may be less than 1/3, maybe 1/4, but smaller. I was falling out of my sports bra's with my expanders, now this fit perfectly.
