hahahah!!!!!!!!!  I have no plans to go anywhere, but I agree, I used to surf around here and lose hours just reading about other's stories and I have toned that part down and spend my time on just a few select threads (for the most part). It was overwhelming at times, reading everything and anything...but then again the entire time leading up to bmx was completely overwhelming to say the least...

Sue - I am here for the long haul, baby!!!

Let's put it this way, I don't think a day goes by that I don't log on here, I get all bent out of shape when I can't keep up with this particular thread - I just love you guys and our chats, :-) ...it's so strange, I was chatting with my sis today about you ladies as if I just met up with you for coffee!  I am particularly attached here, I think!!!

YEAH!!!  Youre staying!!!  Smile  It is true though - it IS like we just met up for coffee - or texted or facebooked...I talk to my BFF about you like you live down the street!

Oh any BTW, I know you were worried about using your computer for uploading pix - I uploded mine right from thumb drive and did NOT store them on my netbook or main computer.  It was easy to do.  I had to do it that way because I do NOT want my kids accidentally bumping into those!!! YIKES!

fire-dancer - a comment on your side note.  I asked my onc about raloxifen v. tamoxifen.  She told me that raloxifen was used PRIOR to a breast cancer diagnosis; tamoxifen was used AFTER a diagnosis.  Not sure why, but it may be a question for your sister to ask her docs.

Fire-dancer ~ wasn't even aware there is a pic forum on here.  Geeze, I thought I was just starting to get a handle on this site too!  Any chance you can explain how to get there?  It is quite helpful to see what you should look like, what difficulties look like, etc.  Guess I'm just stressing out with my exchg was 12 days ago, my PS on vacation this week and I go back to work on Tuesday.  Just wish I knew that everything was okay.

Fire-Dancer: There are several Tamox threads: Newbies on Tamoxifen (like Suebee suggested); Start Tamoxifen-April/May 2011 is also good; and I just started one called Stage 1 Ladies on Tamox Only. ;-)

ditan3: send a PM to whippetmom, she's a gatekeeper for the pic forum.

Hey everybody! So...who's got LESS THAN A WEEK until E-DAY??

...Is it me?  WHY YES, yes it is!  SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

...Maybe I should change my terminology from E-day to "Squee-day?!" ...nah...you guys are doing SUCH a great job, I'm seeing "E-Day" used on more and more threads, and I'm grateful. I always wanted to leave my mark upon this earth...

SO YEAH I'm a little pumped up. To say the very least. Speaking of pumps you should SEE my new shoes. Killer.

Dudes I can SO relate to the medical bills!  I feel lucky to have a $2500 out-of-pocket max, although many people have less (at least here in Minnesota, healthcare is pretty good here).  Bills are kicking my BUTT lately...

Today, just today, I paid $500 for a crown, and it wasn't any spectacular bejeweled wonder, we're talking dental work.  OY. Then I bought a new dehumidifier, there goes another $200.  To make myself FEEL better, I bought a new pair of super high stacked-heel peep-toe back-zip strappy platform booties. FINALLY. My holy grail of shoes. I finally found heels that are high enough to keep my pants from touching the ground, without making me look like a hooker. AND, comfortable, OMG. In. love. Only $35, on clearance from $80!  They were like...my dream shoes.

I should sleep more.  Starting today, no more posting up the forum after say...10 p.m. My foobs need their beauty sleep.

Cameron ~ OMG you are such a riot!!!  Just love your story about your new shoes.  Always makes you feel good to buy new shoes ~ always loved high heels ~ still do, they're just more chunky now.  Cool

Thanks for the tip w/the pic forum.  I'm in touch w/whippetmom to do the pic thing.

Fire-Dancer, I have been on Tamoxifen for about 7 weeks. So far, Nothing major. Hot flashes at night. A little bit of weight gain, but that is more lack of exercise from my surgery. I have some minor pain like minor menstral cramps, which I will be discussing with my Oncologist next week. Good luck to your sister.

Cameron new boobs and new shoes???  Rock it, girl!!!!  LOL

My DH and I are unemployed as of now so we are buying NOTHING until we find something.  Our healthcare so far has been 100% though so I am SOOO thankful for that.  The Dentist and Ortho bills will kill us unfortunately!!!  Kids are EXPENSIVE!!

BTW Susan  - Remember us talking about our 'control sweater'....the one we keep trying on to see if our boobs are 'big enough'?  And I told you mine was a sweater that my BFF looks WAAAAAY better in and you chided me for buying the same sweater as my DD BFF?  Well, I am IN it today!!!  Its flippin freezing here in Ohio and all of my sweaters are put away except this one....so I put a cami underneath so no one sees my 1/2 cleavage and it looks pretty good!!!  OK, so I do not have the gorgeous cleavage that BFF has and Ill probably always have to wear a cami with it but the thing is, the sweater is ON ME and I am going to walk out into PUBLIC with it on!!!   Thats a big move!!!  LOL.  I just thought I would share.  For those following along, I and my BFF saw these sweaters at Ann Taylor and bought the same ones in different colors (it was her birthday and we were feeling all BFFish that day) - when I saw her two weeks later in it and how beautiful she looked in it....well, I never wore it....then the cancer thing happened.  Im just glad I am giving it a try! Yeah me!

Oh my things moved fast since yesterday!! So much to comment on!!

First off.. WOOT WOOT to Suebee for rockin' the BFF sweater!!!  ..and you say you uploaded to the pic site?!  I will have to remember to take a peak tonight!! (I'm at work and would die if someone walked in and caught me looking at boobies!! lol!!)  And yes, you are very lucky to have the 100% medical...mine sucks! :( ...... too bad about the PS moving though.... I sure hope you get to have him for your E day!!

Megan ~ Yes, I've been taking Tamoxifen for almost 4 months now.  Yes, everyone's response seems to be very personal.  I have absolutely NO noticeable side effects.  My onc said the "younger" patients and those that exercise regularily tend to have less side effects?  It was a no brainer for me being highly ER+ with IDC.  But would be a tough call taking as a preventative. ... Also wanted to say, like you, i spent HOURS reading through threads the first few months I was diagnosed.  I still log on almost every day, but don't really follow as many threads...some are impossible to keep up with!!  Like the bra thread, or exchange city.... it moves so fast it's tough to want to be a regular part of them you know.  That's why I like this one! :)

Cameron ~ Was wondering how you were doing... you are SO close now!!! (oYo)

Hope all you lovely ladies are having a great week so far!

Also wanted to add.... this site (and you ladies!) has really been invaluable to me.  I gained so much knowledge (oftentimes knew more than the docs did!!) and felt so much reassurance and comfort from the advice and shared experience here.  For me, it really made my journey less scary and more in control.... though you to have to watch to not be too obsessed and not read threads that are not applicable to your diagnosis!   ... my hubby saw me reading the Stage IV threads before and wasn't too happy about it. Undecided

Suebee congrats on being a "sweater girl"!!

Susansgarden, ditto your above sentiments. Yes, stay off threads that do not apply to you! ;-)

I had a 2nd onco opinion today — and he says I am Stage 2A (not 1B like my orig onco said). THIS guy suggested chemo. My 1st onco said Tamox only. Oy, Oy, Oy.

    That's what I get for getting a 2nd opinion...

Susan - I agree too - stay off the threads that dont apply!!!  Its too much!!!  I love LOVE this thread and its my home....I look forward to keeping up and catching up every day!

And dont look at my TE (I still cant call it a boob nor a foob) while youre at work!  YIKES!  Who wants to see the alien/science experiment attached to my front???

Rennasus - Ill resond on our other thread.  Wow youve got a lot going on right now girl!  If I dont reply before your trip - go rest and have some fun and try to get your mind off things!!!

Susan: yes, he staged me at 2A because my mass was between 2 - 5cm (3.2 to be exact). My onco score was 16.

Suebee: The good news is that my incision continues to head in the right direction!

    Off to Vegas, baby!

slg, ditan, rennasus, eulabt, sue & susan - thanks for your input re: tamoxifen, I'll meander over to the other threads and hopefully I can help to direct my sister to a place where she can gather some helpful insight, I do get that it's a personal experience, but I just trust hearing from the women here (on BCO), and the honesty they/you bring to the conversation...thanks again!

Sue - I REMEMBER the sweater!!! I smiled big when I read that you were happy with the look - yahoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cameron, it's amazing how a good pair of shoes can be so awesome, huh?!?! there's a song called "New Shoes" by Paolo Nutini that I love, catchy and makes ya wanna move, check it out, very fitting for your new kicks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmbUNF1Q4R8&NR=1

Susan  - yes, some threads move too fast for me, but this is one that I cannot bear to miss :-)

and by the way, my hub has come in and seen me on threads that don't "pertain" to me and call me out on it...yup, there is something to sticking to what relates to your situation, it can be overwhelming to get involved emotionally, even if it's just by reading/following too many threads.

Rennasus - I hope you get some clear direction on what you should be doing, it's gotta be tough to get that 2nd opinion and have it be not what you want to hear/or expect...BUT, I am so glad to hear your incisions are lookin' good!!!  Have fun in Vegas!

FIre Dancer - oh dear.  I watched the 'new shoes' clip.  Now I'm itching to go to DSW or call up Zappos link.  Maybe I'll recover from the urge before I have the next day free from work.

I too keep gravitating to this thread.  My exchange isn't until 9/13 and I'm still not sure I'll win the battle with the PS about SMALL.  You all give me hope.

Minus Two - Ha!!! there's something about that song that makes it clear what a difference some new shoes make, huh?!?! :-) I have been found dancing around my kitchen grooving out to that tune, but I'll only admit that here Wink ...glad it sparked a shopping trip for ya!!!

...good luck with your PS and keep hanging around here, I think we are all a pretty fine group of gals!

I love this thread too, it's the best.

I love the concept of a control sweater!  This will make you giggle: I have a control tank top. One of these days I'll post them on my pic thread, I have the entire collection!

The following is pasted directly from my pic thread, I'm sorry for the cross-posting but I'm tired and nervous now about my E-day being UNCERTAIN. Here goes:

At today's pre-op, lab tests revealed my red AND white cell counts are lower than they were at my last pre-op. (which was in February.) Primary Care Doctor (PCP) said he couldn't clear me for exchange surgery on Monday. My blood is always low, this is even lower, yes. I understand.
I said, "well should I take some iron, please call my PS and see what he thinks" and PCP had me in for additional labwork.
I called PS's office and his PA said he's not worried about the red cells, he's more concerned with white cells. She seemed very NOT worried. I told my white count is historically low, also. Years of regular blood tests for my Epilepsy have shown this.

So. I guess I'm waiting on final clearance from PCP, hopefully soon.

If it's meant to be, it will happen. You WILL hear me shrieking if I have to postphone E-day. But it's not the end of the world. I just had my hopes up, is all.

So that's the bad news, and by tomorrow, I hope to have a positive, exciting plot twist for you, to make this story more riveting... I want my soap opera to be a feel-good joyful kinda thing.

Cameron I posted to your thread but Ill reiterate that I cant wait to hear how things go today and hope its all positive!!!!  Its just a hurdle - not the end.

I would love to see your control cami's!!!  The control sweater is a tough one because I only have 1/2 cleavage right now...I really want to see what things will look like with full cleavage but Ill just have to wait.  I cant imagine rockin my control sweater without full cleavage - I was worried all last night that someone could see the edge of my pseudo-cleave and thought "what the heck is THAT?"

quick update!  it's a good one!

My white count is NOT low, when compared to my history! And my red count is low but acceptable to my PS. I am going on iron supplements and upping my intake of iron rich foods.

E-day: NOT postponed!  And it's happening Monday!  SQUEEEEEE!

Hi y'all....I have lurked on this thread but not yet dropped in...but you look like you're having way too much fun, especially now that Cameron is GTG for Monday!!  Cameron, your posts always crack me up!!

I recognize some of my sister waifs here, so finally thought I would say hi.  As you all were saying, I too am finding it challenging keeping up with all the pertinent threads.

And just to stay relevant to the original topic -- I'm 4 weeks out post exchange, started as a 34B and hoping to continue looking that way, even if the actual bra size changes.  I have to wear the funky PS zip-front bra and sports bras for a few more weeks before I can try a normal bra again.

HI All - sorry have not been online in a while.  Too much going on with family, kids, end of year school, etc.  I just read Cameron's posts re blood;.  I am supposed to have my E-day on June 7th.  My hemoglobin a 8.2 (low).  My anc is really low, and my CBC is at a 2000.  I am waiting to see if I get the go-ahead.  Cam - how low was low for you???

Wish I were more upbeat about this, but I just do not feel good or anywhere like normal...between the blood stuff and the forced chemo-pause, I am tired!!!

Ladies - I just read back a few pages...so glad to hear hat you all get caught up in the other threads. Truth be told, I had to go cold turkey on BCO for a while.  Too many times I got caught up in the sad stories that really left me down.  So, I promised not to go on for a while to appease my DH.  Now, that I am getting closer to my date (IF I AM ALLOWED TO DO IT!!!) I am back on and getting more nervous.  I need you all...it is so comforting to read all about the experiences of the big E.
