Wren, that's too funny!! When I drop something tiny on the floor or rug, I'll often put down a duplicate of what I'm looking for so I know what to spot!!0 -
I've done that very same thing, Barbe.0 -
So beautiful Melissa.

I am putting this here because I know some of the ladies have been around since Anne first come on BCO as Cool Breeze. Maybe you would want to vote for her or share this around here. Anne from the But Doctor I hate Pink blog is in the Best Health blogs contest again. She can win $1,000. to put toward her sones college education. Here is the url http://www.healthline.com/health/best-health-blogs-contest It takes me about 10 seconds to vote once a day. There are 33 days left. Ann is off of chemo because it was killing her bone marrow. She sleeps a lot these days and some days finds it too much to post little items asking for votes. Her son graduates this year and it is her goal to be there. Anne was Cool Breeze on here. After she became stage 4 she stopped posting much here. Anne offers lots of encouragement to other BC women.
Keep putting up your beautiful inspiration photos please.

I voted, too. Anne was one of the people here that I followed when I first found BCO. I read her entire blog and she has such a sense of humor. I was sad when she entered stage 4.

There are 30 days left to vote once a day. What isn't clear is that due to technical issues many of us were not able to vote at all for ANN the entire first week of voting. Votes for others were being recorded. So now I am just trying to help gather some more votes for Ann.
I sure hope she is at her son's graduation this year.
Everyone has a wonderful Christmas and holiday season.

I found my snowflakes...last night. Oh, well. They will go in the ornament box for next year.
I found some crochet thread at Hobby Lobby last week that was silver with sequins in it. Has anyone ever used this type of thread?

Meece I've used thread that is shot with silver but never one that has sequins.........sounds interesting.

I'd worry about 'scraping' them off during construction. I've used the threads like Chrissy has, but not full-out sequins though I've seen the wool in shops here. Would they be better for knitting on larger needles rather than wrapping them around crochet hooks?

Hi all, The yarn sounds interesting but I would worry about breaking the sequins in half. Maybe sequins are crafted from a different material now that wouldn't be brittle. I am old after all.
Happy new year to all of you, I am going to check in more frequently this year. I got stalled on all of my sewing this past two years and need to get back to it for my mental health. I have spent a lot of time in fear, or rather trying to suppress it, these two years. Suppressing my feelings only makes me non functional. The car accident in Sept has left me unable to walk more than about 20 feet wtihout terrible pain in the T7. I need to go see a different Dr I don't want to be disable the rest of my life. My goodness I began this paragraph with Happy New Year wishes to all of you and look what I spilled out.
Sincerely Happy New Year ladies, blessings and love for all of you.

Ladies!!!
I love this thread, and all the creativity everyone has. I finally quit my Quilting Class - thanks various and sundry illnesses, I was missing more classes than I was attending. And besides, the teacher usually spent the whole three hours sitting at her desk drinking coffee and reading quilting magazines. Most of the "students" were expert quilters, and there wasn't much new that she could teach them, so everyone just worked on their own projects.
After I quit, I did finish a baby quilt for a friend's daughter, and then made some decorated kitchen towels for Christmas presents. Funny how I'm more motivated by gifting than a class assignment.
Last week my SIL gave me an Elna 644 serger. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I did find a local man who is the Elna repair guy in town, and he sounds very nice. He'll clean it all up and fix it if needed, and get me a manual. I also think he can teach me how to use it, but if not, I have a friend who can.
Wishing all you talented ladies a wonderful, productive, creative New Year!

Blessings, what a shame your teacher was such a slug. I have so enjoyed mine & she teaches during the entire class. Our classes mostly were spent being taught, then the homework for the week was going home and doing what she showed us. Very little of the work was actually done in class. We brought back what we had done at home and showed & discussed each step. We all worked on the same project. It was really kind of fascinating seeing how each persons version of the same quilt pattern was so different based on the different fabrics each student chose.
You could learn more from some very good online videos than the class you ended up with. Missouri Star Quilt Co has good ones. There are also some very good quilting classes available online from Craftsy, and if you sign up for their site you get emails from them & they frequently run classes 1/2 off. You download the classes & can do them at your own pace & go back and rewatch as much as you like.

I wish for all of you...

I wonder if I signed up for a class if I would actually get back to quilting.

I've been doing some online classes learning some new techniques in crochet......Meece you might find those a little more convenient. Sometimes we just need to make the commitment to get things done.

I think you have a point.

Ahhhhhhh the "C" word! such a complex word! So hard to do but usually fun IF you follow through. New Year resolution?

Lol Eph!

I don't do the sewing & quilting you all do. I'm a paper crafter- scrapbook & card making. I have enough product to open my own store. I don't do resolutions, but my goal is to not procrastinate & actually do some fun stuff this year. I love to do the work, but when weekends come along it seems other things are vying for my attention, like reading a good book or solitare on the computer. I have a card making class that I'm attending, starting Saturday, every 1st & 3rd Saturdays (different teachers/different companies). I'm hoping that will infuse me to use the "C" word!

Joni, that is a GREAT class schedule!! This way you're not committed to EVERY weekend and can surely make the dates. Smart store that's doing that...

It's private individuals who are reps for catalog products; 1 through my church, 1 through a friend. I'm excited about it. I made some pretty awesome cards for Christmas last month.

Yes please! I would love to see some of your work Joni!

I love looking at others work on these pages! Eventually I may do something again myself and post it.

Next project under way. Each 'postcard' will get side strips then the blocks go together.
It is for my nephew who is getting married in May.
