Joan - You are absolutely right.  This is a strong sisterhood and that is what keeps me coming back.  Most of the sisters on the other threads I followed are gone and now on facebook in a private group of pink sisters.  So I have not lost touch with everyone.  I feel so fortunate to have found this website.  It has been my strength for a long time and will be for some time to come.

Leah- Hope you are feeling better soon.

Into the fire goes an early morning phone call from a friend to tell me all about the water cure. I was having the best sleep I had in days to be interrupted to such news. All I drink is water... A gallon a day. Then the phone ever stopped ringing. UGH!

Granny - I'm here but don't have anything to throw in other than this freekin cancer crap. There is so much of it, the flames should be seen from outer space.

Gritgirl, it sounds like you have had much loss in your life...I am sorry for you.  Glad you are here.

GrannyK, oh my dear, I know how much you cared for this friend...how important she is to you.  I am so darned sorry to hear this and - yes - the timing is so sad - but then there is no good time.

Veggy, sorry your sleep was interrupted by this - guess there is no cure for stupid.

Hope everyone had the best day possible...

    Jo1955,

I just happened across this thread started several years ago and started reading-- and LMAO.

I wondered if thread was still going and jumped to last page and found it is still burning HOT. Definitely an eternal flame.

Thanks for starting this hot topic!

I'll be back with loads of fuel.

Well, Jo...speaking of the flames being seen from outer space....looks like we might need some rockets to scoop up all this cancer and heartache that's burning....and send it on it's way!

PinkHeart - I was absent for a while and was pleasantly suprised this thread was still going.  It makes me happy that there are so many sistas coming here and getting rid of all the bad stuff.

VR - Perhaps we can go sit by the fire and see if we can come up with a plan.  A rocket ship or two huh?  I'm sure Mr Google will be lots of help.  LOL!

Jo... I have a better idea than consulting Google! I paid a lot of tuition to the University of Texas so that my younger son could call himself a nuclear and rocket scientist! I am going to ask him to come on down to the fire...along with his other rocket scientist friends, and get them to gather up the flames and pack them into a rocket and send them on a one way trip. IMHO... Very Doable! Sisters... Get ready! Get ear plugs and binoculars...3,2,1... BLAST OFF! Okay... If THAT doesn't work... At least we can have these bright young men for a little company.... I have met some of them and they are not only smart...but they are also dreamers that are capable of making some of our dreams come true. If we can't find a cure on earth... Then maybe there's something out THERE that can help lead to a cure! Don't lose hope sisters... We will one day get there! I have no doubt that the best and the brightest are making contributions in their fields of expertise and excitement. Hopefully, one day soon, we will be able to come down to the fire and instead of throwing something in... We can put out the fire and celebrate...

So I go to work for 1st time in 6 weeks feeling kind of normal. Can almost forget I am missing s boob and due for 2nd chemo on Thursday. Day is going great until...immediate supervisor asks me it I gained weight. I told her maybe a pound and she informs I look I gained weight! WTF THROW THAT B***H in the fire! Good day gone so wrong.

It gets better though. Inform her boss who proceeds to tell me she told someone else same thing last week and she really needs to talk to her. WTF how many people does she have to be rude to before you address the situation? Throw that b***h on the fire too.

Ipc...you have to wonder what b^%*h #1 is like with her own loved ones... I bet they look forward to her going to work! I really wonder why some women feel the need to be hard on one another with respect to such superficial issues...I pity her and I pity her family even more...

And... Ipc... That exchange calls for the "Excuse me?" Followed by the excruciating long pause and the evil eye.

Just checking in tonight. Have been reading, not feeling up to writing much. Have developed LE &/or vascular compression from tumor, and not dealing well with it.

Anyway, VR is right: the best response to almost ANYTHING stupid anyone says is "EXCUSE ME????" and raise the eyebrow! Works great!!!!! And if you practice it now, a lot, like you are rehearsing, then it will come out automatically, which is especially helpful when you are feeling fragile and you want to look like you are really tough!

Also, VR, I love the idea of those rocket scientists getting involved, but if they are busy maybe we can get one of those pyrotechnic guys who set up all the fireworks displays to set some off and send all the BC crap up with colored gunpowder in little Roman candles and other assorted fireworks. We can be grateful to the Chinese for this little invention!

Gentle hugs for all and hope for better days to come. And gratitude for those who love me.

Thanks for checking in Lindalove. You and VR nailed it about  practicing The Look.

lpc - Ignore the idiot - she needs to be given a written warning by HER  Supervisor. I have never, ever heard of a supervisor saying that to a staff member - and after returning from  chemo and Mx -   INTO THE FIRE SHE GOES WITH HER IDIOT MOUTH - she has to stay there until she apologizes!

Good luck tomorrow, Sweet Pea - it will get better.

Ahhhh...and speaking of fireworks.....I should have known my son was going to grow up to be a rocket scientist...because he was born on The Fourth of July!

Here's the kinda celebrating we Goddesses are going to be doing...I pray each day...really soon!

ipc - What a bitch - there, I said it.  How insensitive can one person be?  From the sound of it, she is rude to everyone.  Too bad her behavior hasn't been an issue with her boss.

VR - What a wonderful idea.  It would be nice to sit around the fire with those folks if we can't get rid of all this crap. At least we would get something positive out of it. That baby is so precious.  She is certainly learning at an early age.

IPC, it's just like any form of abuse from verbal to rape and murder. It's about gaining POWER over another. She accomplished that for a moment--she brought you down, but reporting her was great. Just keep reporting her as well as the eye. I'd add to the --eye and "excuse me", "I preceive your statement as abusive and will report it as such". Your 2nd boss up should realize it's a form of abuse, but if she doesn't, she will after you tell her. Document well, many stories on the boards of abuses by employers after returning to work. Helps if everything written in a diary as to date /time, action preceived as abuse, witnesses present, your action i.e reporting to upper boss/ HR, their action/ non action. Google EEOC on "hostile work environment" and  and duh......law related to disabled..can't think of it's name---someone will come up with it. One thing recently ruled on was reasonable accomodation for chemo appointments and recovery if work missed b/c of complications, but don't remember where I saw it. Might want to check with HR to see that your ducks are in a row. You'll also get a clue if the company is supportive by how they respond to your questions. Plus, if the bitch gives you a problem with chemo stuff, you've already contacted HR re: compliance. Questions for them."Are all my supervisors aware of the rules?" "What do I do and who do I report to if they aren't compliant with the rules?". I know a bunch of people will jump on this cuz they've been through it and they are right here.

Here's my contribution.  I attend AA meetings and that is overall a very good thing. Without that support, I wouldn't be making it. But sometimes people say stupid things to me there. Some are jerks, some are just idiots.  A woman at the meeting who knows my story, talks about her friend who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she has lesions on the brain. I am terrified of that. Mine is on the bone and liver.  I have a scan this Friday.  I am considered stable at this point, but you never know. So hearing the brain thing was not helpful. Woman didn't know, but she goes into the idiot category.  When I shared I talked about going for my scan and said I'm grateful it's not in my brain, yet.  Hopefully the idiot will have heard that and know to STFU next time. Idiot.  I throw her onto the fire.
