I have something for the fire that I don't recall anyone throwing in...I am throwing in the small pothole that I fell into on Monday while in Texas that has left me with what I hope is just a sprained, bruised foot from my toes to my heal and thankfully, not my ankle. Gotta give a shout out to all the Texans that have risen to the occasion and have helped poor ol' me! I have never seen my foot so many colors before!

    Burn pothole burn!

VR - That is a new one for the fire.  Texas is notorious for potholes and I am so sorry one jumped up and bit you.  Hope you heal real soon.  I live in deep south Texas and dodging potholes is a daily occurrance.

SAS there you are again - good to see you getting around if only a few sentences here and there.  You have sacred chocolate left for the fire?  LINTROLLERDERBY (good pile of stufff btw, has me going through house again for more to get rid of)  she has is going strong now and we can have meltdowns and treats.  Want to throw in the b9 thingee or keep it around awhile?

Today I am throwing on the fear I had yesterday when I thought a bubble was going through my tube during UVB treatment, the tech doesn't know but I was so ascared I could've pulled everything down.  And anger w Hubby for getting sick  (not wearing socks w his mules and in shorts in 30 degree weather change)  and now I have scratchy throat and little cough and taking my stuff to ward it off too.

sas - glad things r going good! I'm typing w/one hand, 2.  Had my port placed 2day.

I'm throwing in being one who always seems 2 get the bad small odds.  In the hospital - lung punctured during port surgery.  Small pneumothorax.  This oxygen should make the fire burn bright!

Sheila, so glad to see you here and able to get a few lines out with your sense of humor showing through!

DT, pneumothorax not fun! Come rest by the warming fire and heal quickly.

VR, bummer about the pothole injury.

Essa, did you let the tech know about the bubble? They should be right there to address any concerns during treatment.

Jo, are you near McAllen? My mom is near there.

Tossing in the pain-fatigue-more pain-more fatigue cycle. I am tired of it. As we all know, things always change and I am sure this will pass. And meanwhile, I will contribute Graham crackers and a bottle of wine as I am sure that would go well with s'mores.

Linda - I am about 10 miles east of McAllen.  I do alot of shopping there.  Lots of good resturants there too.

SAS - Glad to see you back and on the mend.

VR - Can't believe someone was not more careful with the port.

Let's all gather by this magical fire and start healing.

Did someone say s'mores?  I love those.

I'm all relaxed by the fire tonight.  I just came from a great yoga class and then a walk around the neighborhood.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Yes, Linda, she was right there doing treatment, I was trying not to panic.  She kept saying  she added some whatever so my blood would not clot, so it was some of that, not really the bubble I thought, but I was so frightened.  Until yesterday I could not watch these treatments bcz of the sight of blood does me in just a little itty bitty bit, like I faint, but yesterday I watched LOL.

Throwing in the left arm and hand with collapsing veins that will not give blood so I have to use the LE arm, damn it.  Taking the sheet on how to use the  leg and foot instead.

    Really want a chocolate smore.

It was as if we were a true  blood sisters in minutes. I hope our friendship always keeps up. My home is always open to you. Thank goodness we have the Titusville connection and Tampa. The flowers are by the side of the Infant of Prague. The chocolate as you know is quite gone. It brought many smiles to many faces. Thank you again, you can see the typing this morning is much better.

Moffitt is beyond belief my hospital of choice. Makes my hospitals here look not so good. Bummer. I near fell here at home , so, again being careful. Bending is the worst. Getting pretty good with the feet lifting. LOL.

    Now back to here-

D essa------have throat rinse several hundred years old , but forgot where I saved it? will try to find . Start with salt water gargle. frequently. The faster you use the better it works. Let gone beyond a certain point won't work.  D-essa please don't let them use LE arm. Ask for the best port nurse there or arm nurse. My first injection took five sticks by three certified nurses. Last stick by a nurse one attempt and in. Next time ahe was the only one I would let touch me.

I'll pull up info on ports and pneumothoracies if I can.

VR did they talk with you about spontaneous pneumo's ? Long discussion, but just tell me what they told you and I will fill in the blanks.

NY trip may be out----sister quite sick, nut I can't travel for about 8 weeks. Will see-------god willing for all too happen.Cool. What a difference a night makes. Ha dto add Mancy and Special K here as a c&p know you all will understand.

Jo ---now we have to start thinking sweet things about your surgery in April, By the sweet warm fire.

Glad everyone is mending! Dancetrancer... That's great news! Hopefully you will be well in a few days!

Sheila... Sounds like you are doing so much better today! It must be a huge relief to get that sucker out and find that it was B9!

I just returned from the doctor and he confirmed that I broke my foot. Off my foot now in a boot for 2 weeks. If it doesn't start to heal... Then it's surgery for me! So what else is new???!!! If all goes well, then I will JUST need the boot for 2 months. No 3 mile daily walks for the foreseeable future.

Sheila.. My pneumothorax was due to a congenital defect that caused a thinness in my lung's lining. They did major surgery to fix it. Story of my life. Surgery, surgery and more surgery! But hey... I am alive and half kickin'!!!

Time to toast to LIFE and some marshmallows!

Can I throw my oncologist and breast surgeon into the fire?

I've been having terrible burning pain in my breast that was operated on. The oncologist gave me an exam and didn't find anything.  Told me that if it continues to tell the surgeon. Emailed the surgeon and she said that it is common. I wrote back questioning her. Got an appointment. She felt lumps and quickly gets me squeezed in for an ultrasound and a mammo. Two big lumps and a cluster of lumps are found. I go for a biopsyTuesday. It does not look good. What if I had listened? In they go!

Thank you Jo1955 and DianeEssa for the welcome! I really don't know what's wrong with my original radiologist and original surgeon. They gambled with my life and it still gives me goosebumps to think of how easily I could've listened to them. Trust me, I'll have enough to keep the fire stoked for some time to come. :)

Sas-Schatzi: I go to Moffitt, too. After my diagnosis was bungled here in my hometown, I called Moffitt and transferred everything to them. They have been absolutely wonderful! It's only an hour and 15 minutes drive and well worth it.

Veggy - same issue here, and my bs is on the fire.  Positive margin he would not admit to, called it close and drew pic when asked but that was of negative distance.  Burning breast, now lumps in right and a thingee in  left too.  I will prevail.

TONIGHT I come to throw perfectoinism on the bonfire. My perfectionism.

Dancetracer--------those crackeles are technically known as --subcutaneous emphysema. Sounds just at you describe ---snap /crackle /pop as you lay your fingers over it/ It means that air has escaped into the subcu tissue. It will absorb over time. Interesting thing . Just watch for an increasing amount versus decreasing amount. Increasing amount let the doc know. Decreasing amount , put to a learning experience that you wish you didn't have.

Veggy, in my prayers. Yes it would be nice when they listen. Raise a little hell. They blew you off and you had to be your own advocate. Bless your advocay. Just think where you'd be without your own voice. " go get 'em girl".

D essa----------same for you. Your voice is making it happen-------" you go get'em girl too"

LRD welcome---Moffitt made me feel like my hometown hospitals were chump change. Just wish the drive time wasn't so far. Very glad for you that you feel you are getting good care now. Keep us updated.

VR---yes if it isn't one thing it's another. To bad we have our learning experiences the hard way. Rather read about it in a book. Having a bit of trouble with BP. Know that it's b/c I'm feeling to well and doing to much. Need to act like a patient and stop doing to much. So, tomorrow will be a bedday. Switching to Fentanyl patch off of Oxy. I just get way too talkative and active on Oxy.

My son was here until sun afternoon, now my brother is here for a week.  Bending is the hardest,  nonsmoking the 2nd hardest--------------do know impact on Bp========bad nurse.Adjusting with meds. and watching cig intact.

Jo your in my Rosary , just as everyone is. If that offends anyone please let me know. For mre it is my concrete way of thinking of you and gives me a sence that I can do something with you all in mind. The Oxy though does make concentration tough.  Typing and spelling still off. -----drugs? May we all have a better experience Namaste sheila

veggy, lint, diane - I threw my surgeon and MRI radiologist on fire a while back.  They too misdiagnosed and I walked around for 2 1/2 years not knowing that what was thought to be B9 was actually cancer.  Sure wish they could burn for 2 1/2 years.

Sheila, I love the way you combine the Rosary and the yoga "namaste".  I am taking a gentle yoga class in which the teacher actually sings/chants to us at the end of the session, very beautiful, very spiritual.  I think those of us who were brought up Protestant may be missing something in not having the Rosary to help us focus on prayer and the spiritual connection it can bring.  I am glad to see you here, keeping you in my prayers and heart, hoping each day is better than the last.

DT,  hoping you also continue to improve each day.

For all the rest of you warming by the gentle fire, let me remind you that with this hot weather we need a cooling drink rather than hot cocoa or hot buttered rum, so am breaking out the sangria for you all!
