veggy, of course your scared, you have every right and reason to be.  I would be even more concerned and worried about you if you weren't.  I pray that God will give you the strength that you need and and the comfort and healing that will bring you joy and peace.

Veggy my thoughts are with you too.

I wan't to throw in all the surgical tapes and adhesive electrodes placed on me for my surgery yesterday.  I have rashes on my skin where it came in contact with the tape.  Throwing in the rashes too.

Veggie - thinking of you!!!!  Keep throwing til ya can't throw no more.  Sometimes you gotta wear yourself out to get all that stress out, then ya crash but feel better.  At least that's how it often works for me.

SAS Sheila, there you are still reaching out to help....congrats on  your wonderful career.  You made me smile with the memories. I hope you will write them down as they come to you.
Linda n, Happy Anniversary - and much happiness and good health to come this year and always.
King, I wish you healing days ahead.
Veggy, am throwing "being strong" on the fire for you...no such thing.  We do what we have to do and we are scared S---less most of the time. I remember the night before my surgery in a strange hotel and not sleeping because I did not really know what they would find....I went through every emotion....wanted to scream but couldn't....took photos of myself to mark the milestone...Keep acknowledging your stress and distress - it is so much better than putting on a tough exterior.
It sounds like you've been giving a lot to others...I hope you will have unconditional love and support through this....if you aren't finding it out there, please come here by the fire.
    ((((((((((((((Veggy)))))))))))))))
Just want to tell you that you've given so much to me....making me laugh out loud when things were just so out of my control.  You are a very special person.

jOAN YOU SHOULD SEE WHAT VEGGY HAS DONE ON THE ---OMG THEY FOUND A CURE FOR STUPID THREAD=======SHE ALWAYS COMES UP WITH THE GREATEST PHOTO'S, GIVE HER AN IDEA AND SOON THERE ARE MANY PICS THAT CARRY THE TOPIC TO THE NTH DEGREE.......

THANK YOU FOR THE OTHER THOUGHT. IT'S A BIT OF A WEIRD FEELING, BUT I''LL RELAX AND GET BACK TO SAYING WHAT I NEED TOO. CHABBA POINTED OUT THAT SOMEONE MAY REPORT ME FOR PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE.

LANGUAGE IS A BIG PART OF WHAT AND HOW I SAY SOMETHING. FOR, EXAMPLE, WITH VR SUGGESTING WARM HEAT FOR HER ACHING OTHER FOOT WOULD FALL UNDER COMMON KNOWLEDGE VERSUS SAYING USING COLD OR HOT ON AFFECTED LIMB . TO NOT CROSS THE MEDICAL LINE. IT WOULD HAVE TO SOUND LIKE THIS'   "ASK YOUR DOC IF COLD OR HOT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE BROKEN FOOT." BELIEVE ME I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CAREFUL ABOUT THAT LINE. IT WAS dRILLED INTO US IN SCHOOL SO MANY EONS AGO. I KNOW SAYING COMMON KNOWLEDGE  SOME WOULD SAY ----NOT MY KNOWLEDGE, BUT IT JUST LIKE SAY COOKING, SOME HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SOUPS, OTHERS DESSERTS, MEATS ETC. SO, WHEN WE ALL COME TO THE TABLE WE BRING OUR BEST, THAT WE SHARE WITH EACH OTHER. OUR RECIPES.  TAKE  IT TO MEAN, I WILL NEVER COOK THE STEAK B/C TO ME THERE IS "A STEAK COOKER" IF YOU GET THE ANALOGY----------CONTINUAYION INTO A RESPONSE TO CHABBA.

CHABBA-----BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR AWHILE SINCE YOU BROUGHT IT UP B/C EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS LIKE I'M GIVING MEDICAL ADVICE, EACH SCENARIO IS SO DIFFERENT, IT IS HARD FOR A DESSERT COOK TO KNOW WHAT THE FINE LINE IS IN BEING THE STEAK COOK. EVEN THOUGH I WOULD NEVER BE THE STEAK COOK , I DO KNOW WHAT THE STEAK COOK OUGHT TO BE DOING AND WHAT THEY CAN DO TO ENHANCE THE STEAK.  CONVERSELY, WHEN THERE IS AN ASPECT ABOUT NURSUNG OR MECICINE THAT I'M CLUELESS---I'LL SAY "I'M CLUELESS",  IN COOKING THAT WOULD BE SOUFFLES.---IN NURSING AND MEDICINE THAT WOULD BE ONCOLOGY----SO, MANY ASPECTS OF NURSING AND MEDICINE ARE WIDELY APPLICABLE TO OTHER SPECIALTIES, BUT THERE ARE A FEW SUB-SPECIALTIES THAT IT TAKES ALLOT OF NEW TRAINING TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT------ONCOLOGY IS ONE------HUGE AMOUNTS OF NEW KNOWLEDGE THAT NEEDS TO BE LEARNED-----------

SURE HOPE THIS ANALOGY WORKS , IF IT DOESN'T TELL ME AND I WILL TRY AND COME UP WITH ANOTHER ONE. I TRULY FELT YOUR COMMENT WAS IN NEED OF A RESPONSE, BUT HAD TO THINK ABOUT IT.

    SAS, Nancy,
I have followed the OMG...Stupid thread since I joined.  I started reading and laughed so hard...it's all so true and the images that come up there are hilarious. I haven't posted there in awhile, but I often check in.  Laughter is truly the "cure" for whatever BC tries to throw our way.  And Veggy has the gift of giving laughter even when things seem unbearable.
I agree....the hens are the best....with a little digression for turkey humor over holidays; and the kittys  so funny.  I always laugh out loud....which is rare for me.
    Keep smilin'

I just bought a bar of extra dark Ghiradelli chocolate the other day. Oooohhhh....it's good. I avoid sugar for the most part, and plain ol' ordinary candy, but will indulge in one of these occasionally and eat it over several days. I'm willing to share - it's a big bar!

I have to weigh in on the chocolate.  For years, DH always got me Godiva, and I also love Ghiradelli.  But I am telling you that the organic dark chocolate truffles from Whole Foods is absolutely THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Cool

Now I am going to check out OMG....Cure for Stupid.  My sister told me I needed to laugh more, so after all the comments from you here, I am headed over there right now!

I love this thread!  OMG!  I have been a saver of booklets, pamphlets, papers, etc on breast cancer that I've been keeping around in a couple of boxes as well as in my file cabinet for what reasonnnn???  I finished my treatment in Dec. 2008! I think I thought if I threw that stuff away it could jinx me and I would need it as soon as I threw it away!  But what it really is at this point is CLUTTER, because if I do ever have a recurrence (knocking on wood that I won't!), I can certainly get new pamplets and literature if I really need it.  Thanks ladies for the impetus to get rid of this stuff!!  Yay! :)

I still have a week and a half of classes to go....and I work a few hours in the summer but I don't mind that....  Enjoy the break!  And throw all those papers on the fire.

    babysandpiper,
It is a great place to get rid of the baggage.  I still have my pamphlets.  What am I going to do...wallpaper?  scrapbook?  I have a house full of things I don't get to....I am getting closer to the fire with this stuff....thanks for reminding me.
Nancynow- rude people are not worth your words. We should save our energy for something or someone worthwhile. (easier said than done, of course)

babysandpiper - Welcome to the fire.  If you have a lot of pamphlets, etc that need to go into the fire, we can help you.  The fire does need some fuel and it sounds like you have it.  This fire does wonders in making us feel better so toss in any thing or any one you want to.

Nancy - Rude people are not worth the time or effort.  At least you have a place to get rid of those feelings - it is never good to carry around that kind of baggage.
