Gracie, is the anxiety the second time around worse than the first time?
Ms. Sas, when you discover something, you get so excited you need to share with as many people as possible. Hah! Okay, if we don't hear from you, we will know what happens.
WildT, I was born in VN(Viet Mam). Left the country when I was 9. Regarding how my younger DD feels about her sister going off to college, she told me that she thinks that's normal and that other families have children who went away for college too. Anyway, she still has Mitzy, our shepherd mix, to terrorize. I think it will be tough for her. Will let you know how we will all do after we drop DD off. I think I will need to bring a box of tissue. Not for me, but for DH. Hah! Your friend sounds like a blessing.
Jazzy, what is summer without the farmers market? Is the roasted pepper seasoned? I presume it's not spicy hot. I like to buy peanuts at the market and boil them with a bit of salt. Good snack when you are watching TV.

Loverly, I'm at least 2 pages behind. But yes you are right. Discovery can get me into trouble. I was once banned for 4 or 6 weeks b/c I spammed about needymed.org and the knitted knockers.. Serious. I was banned for trying to do a good thing. So, far not banned, but the ban on that one didn't happen for several hours. Kinda forget the details. But it was awful. I could read, but couldn't post. So, if I get banned on this one..............I have a better understanding of BCO, and think I could do battle with the Mods.
What was odd about the ban the last time was they didn't have a TOS (terms of service) rule, that prevented posting on multiple sites. It was made up after the fact. Now they have a rule. So, I did break a rule today.
But I think it was Smarrty's meme on W&F's that got me on a roll. AND I'm into the sauce. When I'm in the sauce, I'm a lioness. Too much sauce just stupid.
It's so nice to not worry about leaking YAY. But it was a couple of weeks before I put it together as to why. I noticed the change, but then had to analyze the why. Then it was the TADA thingy. The swimming stroke was doing more than kegels and very good for the hips. Kind of an all in one thing. Hadn't paid much attention to the stroke for years, but since I was trying to get the full range and strength back in the right shoulder, I had been using it much more.
Haven't told you I dropped Baclofen. I did a trial to see how I would do. Some spasming, but doable. Then spasms were much farther apart. AND if I avoid the initiation movements , it's very good. They have been there life long. I think the connector last fall was I was on Tramadol all summer. Then went off it. KInda like a withdrawal thingy.
My choice early summer last year with doc approval was to do a Tramadol thing daily, but it messed up my colon too much. My initial thought at 65, was it was about time to be pain reduced.----free----. chose doable pain over colon problems. Now take Tramadol maybe once a week. I call it a pain free day. Makes the other days doable. A pain break is necessary. How someone can accomplish it is different. But it does make the other days more tolerable,

Going for the triscuits and chocolate---------the salt and the chocolate and the crunchieness of the triscuit.......so way much better that Twix,
Anyone that's a Triscuit fan know's they break right in a certain direction. Put the Hershey's bar quarter in the same direction, Then it can be eaten small increments. Wrong directions and the whole damn thing falls apart.

Hey Ya'll!
Went to go see "Bad Moms" last nite - it is a must see! Mom or not, any woman will find it funny. The theater was full of female groups of friends - they made the movie even funnier with their whooping, cheering and talking back at the screen. Haven't laughed that hard at a show in a long time. Fart Face HATED it! Which made it even funnier
JunieB ~ I had just finished reading about Robaxin when you wrote! I was looking for some meds to ask my PCP about tomorrow. How do you like it so far? Fentanyl doesn't work for me, but I hope it does for you. Rib pain is awful, the muscle relaxer should make a big difference. When you go for the brace you should see if they can get you one of these super duper bionic thingies the military is using........
Susan ~ Are those your pretty little toes peeking out in the bottom of the pic? Shelby and Marley look like they are becoming friends! And yes, Loverly, I saw two pairs of mischievous eyes as well
WildT ~ Yay for a fun night with a good friend! Thank you for the nice comment
Sensi ~ Keep lurking! Don't worry about posting too much if you aren't up to it. We'll all still keep "talking" to you! Glad to know your treatments are going well so far
Jazzy ~ I had to look up the purslane. It's soo pretty and I know very little about plants. It's edible! And highly nutritious. I found this article from Mother Earth News: Power-Packed Purslane
Loverly ~ Every kid should be so lucky as to have that one special teacher who truly cares and makes a positive difference. The more you share about your childhood, the more in awe I am of you and your family. So many people who go through hard times become hard themselves. Instead, your experiences have made you strong and compassionate. You are Loverly
And I loooove that purple lipstick! The eyes are little much though, even for me. I'm not much for mascara, but as I've said before I do cherish my eyeliner. Maybelline's New York cream eyeliner pencils are the best! They come in so many colors, apply easily and don't run or smudge.
Don't ever think any of your complaints are trivial! No one here should ever think that! I am in sucky pain and stuff.......but I have not had to endure the surgeries, chemos, and other harsh things you and so many of the others here have had or are still dealing with. Even if it were just a stubbed toe, I would be concerned and want to share comforting words with the poor sole......umm soul. Life may be a "game" sometimes, but is is never a contest.....although if there were a contest, Dear JunieB would be winning right now!
Hey Gracie! Hope you are sleeping now. Have fun with the grands!
Sassy is being saucey? I prefer to get into the caramel sauce If you get yourself banned, can you still get PMs? How would we be able to check in on you? Should we take a preemptive strike and petition the Mods on your behalf just in case? Just say the word and I'll send out a battle cry!
Off to bed ........forgot I am supposed to be up early, eeek!
Hugs to All!

loveroflife the anxiety this time is much much worse. I just can't catch a break with it. I did get some lorazepam and even with it, sometimes it's overwhelming.
Shep thanks! This is their last week before school starts. I wish i wasn't having as much pain, so I could actually play but I will enjoy just being with them, just on the sidelines

dang!!!!!! I took some ibuprofen yesterday for the pain and on Friday and found out this morning that's one of the things I wasn't supposed to take before the biopsy!!!! ANOTHER thing now my mind will dwell on ugh.......

Loverly- yes, it is roasted green chili time! That last photo is a picture of the fellows roasting some from the current harvest. Nothing better than that aroma. I bought some freshly roasted yesterday at the market and my car was quite lovely for the ride home!
Gracie- sending you loving thoughts and comfort for the bone biopsy this week. I always have high anxiety before things like that. I hope the procedure is not too painful and that you don't have to wait to long for results.
Gotta run ladies, later!

Quick drop in b4 work starts.
Gracie, don't worry about a few tablets of NSAID you took.
Have a blessed day, every one.

Loverly ~ You are so mean - posting that picture of me this morning!
Gracie ~ What bone(s) are you having biopsied? When I had my spine biopsied, I was on an Elvis variety and level of pain meds, including Ibuprofen. I think. (I was taking ALOT of drugs) I don't recall having to skip anything before the procedure. Heck, I was taking handfuls of stuff right before I laid down on the table! I was worried about taking one of my pain killers too soon and the helpful PA told me "Oh honey! Medicine don't know what time you take it! You just go ahead and take it now, it doesn't matter" . Hmmm....if she where a bit older, I would wonder if she had been Elvis's nurse..... Anywhoo's..... I fully concur with Loverly; I'm sure that little bit of Ibuprofen won't hurt anything. Usually NSAIDs are discontinued before a major surgery to reduce the chances of bleeding. A biopsy is just a little needle thingy If the grands are young/gullible you could have them play some fun games like "house"....certain ages are delighted to play with the vacuum cleaner and feather duster. "Guess where this belongs", "fastest laundry sorter" "Nana's magic toilet brush".....lots of fun! Or pretend you are all on a cruise ship and have the kids bring you pillows, magazines and cool beverages. Spa Day is a good one too! Back and foot massages, quiet meditation times............use your imagination

loveroflife thanks! I will try not to worry 😉
Shep, ok I just realized it was on the list of things I was supposed to stop a week before, and it really works, I take 800 mg at a time. But now will just use Tylenol or Lortab until the procedure. They are biopsing (sp?) one of the spots on my spine... The onc said needle biopsy, the tech at the hospital said bone biopsy... So I have no idea what they are actually doing but I do know it involves the ct. Hoping it's not the same jerk that did my sentinel node shots the first time... He was absolutely cruel and jabbed the needle in very hard and the yelled at me when I felt like I was going to pass out... Wanted to get off the table and knock the stuffings out of him!!!

jazzy thank you 😊 Will have to wait until next Monday that's my oncologist appointment.
0 -
shep oh my gosh I LOVE your suggestions with the grandkids!!! Going to use those games 👍

Gracie ~ The needle is used for the procedure so the terms are interchangeable. The spine biopsy shouldn't hurt..... no biopsy should. Ah, but then there are those jack asses who have no business interacting with other living creatures. If I had to have another spine biopsy, I would inisist on mild sedation and/or a spinal block. I wenpt to a chitty hospital; yours may already be planning on doing those things. Can you call your doctor and ask what comfort measures they'll be taking for you? Remind your team you have fibro and Lupus and need extra consideration for after the procedure as your symptoms may flare-up. Always best to be prepped with proper meds just in case

Gracie, we will all come and beat the snot out of whoever hurts you.....

Hello Ladies,
Gracie - I had a biopsy of my spine back in 2014 and it wasn't too bad. I did flinch once when the doctor hit a nerve, but then they gave me more meds and the rest went fine.
Shep - The Robaxine seems to work fine for me, I think. It doesn't make me drowsy or give me that feeling of being jello, so I guess it's working. Chest still hurts though. Am using Fentanyl patch, plus oxychodone for now. Also, you're right, thankfully we're not in a contest.
MO's office called with bone scan results today. Cancer is still stable. Thank you God! However, there seems to be loosening of my hip hardware, so I don't know if that means I'll have to have surgery now or what. Also, they used the phrase "Photopenia at the proximal Femur". I googled this and it said that it can mean there is an infection or it can mean nothing. Well that's a lot of help. I have an appt. with Ortho PA on 8/22, so I'll just have to wait until then. All I can say is this better NOT mess up my getting my puppy.
Eyes are getting heavy, so I'll say goodnight and sleep well all. :0)

Gracie, sorry I was in a rush this morning when I posted. I wanted to let you know that ibuprofen has a short half life so it won't put you at risk for bleeding if you don't take it 24 hours prior to a procedure (assuming your kidney function is normal). Hope that helpsrelieve a bit of your angst.
ShepK, I love it when a friend is honest with me. I'm a Plain Jane actually. I have never layered that much make up on me. That was an app my daughters and I play with. I need a tutorial session on how to apply makeup properly. Need to see that movie you recommended. DH has a different sense of humor so I won't torture him like you tortured your FFH. You are so naughty for enjoying tormenting him.
Jazzy, have you ever tried grilled corn drizzled with lightly salted green onion oil? The taste is heavenly.

JazzyJune- what a time you are having post hip surgery with all this. I hope you can get some answers next week. I hope you don't need more surgery. Hugs sister.
Loverly- no but YUM. Gonna try that!

susan3: don't worry about taking notes, we'll remember. We'll eat plates of normal spaghetti and think of you.

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good Monday.
Junie, let's see how many days in a row you can go without going to the ER!
Jazzy, awesome farmer's market pictures! I love the sights, sounds and smells of a big farmer's market.
Gracie, I hope your day with the grandkids was good. Best wishes with the bone biopsy!
Sas and Shep, how about drizzling the caramel on top of the chocolate and triscut? I do like caramel, and chocolate..I am more likely to put on a graham cracker, or even better, ice cream.
Loverly, I am speechless at just a glimpse of what you went through as a child. What an adjustment for you and your family. Wow!! Good luck this week as you prepare your oldest for her move.
I took my kids to a check up with their pulmonologist this AM. I had received a letter recently that he was retiring, so I knew this would be our last appointment with him. At the time of my children's birth he was also working as an NICU doc, and he was called in specifically to care for my DD. We talked a lot today about back then...in the NICU. He said he still remembers how sick she was. (There were a few times we were told she may not make it.) It amazes me that someone who has cared for hundreds of kids remembers specifics of caring for mine 16 years ago. During the exam the Dr noticed that my DS has one enlarged tonsil and suggested we see an ENT. He then told me that the ENT we normally see is on medical leave, so I'll call the office tomorrow and see when we can get into one of his partners. The Dr went on to say that with only one tonsil being enlarged it could be an indicator of cancer. I'm trying not to panic, and yes, this Dr knows about my Dx. I'm really surprised he made that comment because I've never known him to be alarming.
School starts in two weeks and today I got a text to work in one of the kitchens on the first day of school. I'm a little worried about how well I'll be able to handle jumping back into the physical work, but I guess I won't know until I try.
Feeling a little stressed tonight...hoping to be able to shut my brain off and sleep.

WildT - 3 so far. Yeah!

JunieB ~ Yippee! Stable Scans!!!!!
We'll do the dancing for you - gotta keep that hip put
Saw my PCP and got an RX for Robaxin. Gonna take it now and go to bed!
Susan & Queenie ~ What are you two up to with that spaghetti?
Jazzy ~ I could almost smell the peaches from your pics. You and Loverly can keep the hot stuff!
Loverly ~ FFH wanted to see that movie too. I think he was expecting something different than what is was, maybe like a female Jackass? He very much deserves tormenting, that is why I enjoy it
WildT ~ Big (((hugs))) to you. Tonsils are funky.....so reactive to all kinds of stuff. Hoping your Dr. is just being over cautious.
Sensi ~ Hey you! (waving)
Gracie ~ hope you survived the day and ended up with a nice clean house
Sassafrass ~ are you still "with" us?
Love to all
Goodnight!

We eat grilled corn with lime juice and chili powder. I think our powder must be old. I accidentally dumped it into my oatmeal (meant to put cinnamon) and it didn't really change the taste.
0 -
Hahahahaha Oh my dear, Ms. Wren! Either it's old or your taste buds are changing.
Yay JunieB for the favorable scan!! Now, don't try to do anymore of the Lara Croft acrobatic or gymnastic moves until you are completely healed. We need to make sure you get your pup in the future.
WildT, just as ShepK mentioned-hope the doctor was just over cautious. You can get abscess on just one side. Hopefully, they can get DS in soon so you can have the answer. I don't think I would be able to sleep if I were in your shoes.
ShepK, behave yourself and benice to FFH.
Aww Susan, the things we endure out of love.
Queenie, I am afraid to ask you what is irregular spaghetti.

Loverly ~ Okay... been nice to FF today. Haven't even cussed him out. But then again, it's 6:45 p. m. and I still in the bed...... I am on vacation today 😊
My PCP is awesome but hanging out in the waiting room for almost 2 hours is brutal. Resting my bones in my "marshmallow" bed.....
JunieB ~ Robaxin is good stuff! Slept without "bone spasms" in my hips for the first time in 4 years - Woo-hooo 🌟 Hoping your body is feeling better 🌷
0 -
Shep - I am so glad the Robaxine is helping you!
Loverly - While the scan shows that the cancer is still stable, keep in mind it also showed that I have either loosening of my hip hardware or an infection. It also described there being a bone sliver either near my pelvis or the femur. I don't remember. I am seeing the Ortho's PA next Monday. Either way, I think I'm gonna end up having more surgery.
I said to my Physical Therapist today that I can't get a puppy if I'm in a wheelchair, and she said, "sure you can!"

This is what I'm gonna look like if I can't get my puppy.
