And This one too!

Thanks to everyone who posted to me Well, I ended up having a good day with the kids, but no clean house, lol! I don't know how that happens. I swear every weekend I'm going to get everything done, it's going to be spotless, and look wonderful. Do I ever get there, nope! Someday
Tomorrow is my bone biopsy (did find out why they are calling it that, talked to one of the nurses, it really is to check the bone). If the bone is soft they will be able to use a needle, if not, they will have to do a core. Neither sounds any fun. I asked her if they would give me something because I tend to have anxiety attacks, and she said, they will give me something to numb the area, and something to calm me down but will not put me out. I wish they would.
Shep, two hours wait is horrid!!!!
Loveroflife, thanks for the info on ibuprofen I was kind of freaking over nothing But then...I tend to do that!!!
Talk to you all on the backside of tomorrow.

Loverly - How do they make "lightly salted green onion oil"? and where do I get it? What do you use it on besides grilled corn?
Sassy - Did you get suspended again? Until you mentioned it, I didn't know there is some rule about posting the same info on multiple threads. What's up with that?
Jazzy - Is your week still going like crazy?
Having trouble keeping my eyes open, so I'm going to take a nap.
BBL
WildT - Almost 4 days!

Gracie, best wishes, mugs and prayers for your biopsy
Don't know if I will get chemo tomorrow. Have a chest cold. Haven't been sick in these almost 6 years of chemo. So actually don't know protocol.

Junie, Stinks you have to wait till Monday for more info. Do I hear 5??
Shep, I hate waiting an extended time for Dr's, but 2 hrs is obnoxious! I hope you feel better after being in bed. I have to ask out of curiosity....who is FF/FFH? By context I'm thinking silly name for hubby, but curious about the FF part.
I got an appointment for my DS with an ENT on 8/25. I just hope I get actual answers that day. I fear he will want to take tonsils out and we will not have definitive answers for months. Yesterday I found out the ENT who has been with my kids for 16 years is on medical leave. Today when I made the appointment I was told he won't be seeing patients any more, just administrative stuff. So, seeing a new ENT next week adds to the stress. Sorry I'm being a downer.
Hugs to all!

Wren44: time to get more chili powder. or new taste buds. Possibly both. Though that said, oatmeal with cinnamon and chili powder mightn't be as bad as all that.....
Shepkitty: I can't speak for Susan3 but (tearful pathetic lip-quivering) not nearly enough Giant Plates of Normal Spaghetti, servings Of Heroic Proportions lately. But then grandbabies do rather tend to take up one's time, no?
Loverly: It's not irregular spaghetti, it's Normal spaghetti (bog-standard meat/bolognese sauce). I told Susan3 the story, but the short version is--this harks back to my childhood, when my mother went through what was, for the late 1970s, an experimental phase in regards pasta. Nothing terribly exciting by today's standards--canned clams and parsley were moderately avant-garde forty years ago, even in San Francisco--but after several weeks of this, my younger and still significantly less adventurous sister asked demandingly/wistfully, "Mommy, how come we can't have normal psketti any more?"

JunieB ~ No! You WILL get your puppy! I just know it! Soo many sad faces 😢 Puppies are "do-able" in a wheelchair, a bit harder, but definitely can be done. I had people of all kinds of abilities in my training classes; wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen tanks.... Hopefully you won't need too much more "down time". (Not gonna even think about surgery) Is the possible infection the same one that you took the antibiotics for in the hospital? Whatever is easiest and quickest to fix - that is what I hope is wrong. In the meanwhile.......Yay you!
0 -
Gracie, waiting in line right behind Susan to smack the snots out of whomever hurts you. Will be thinking about you tomorrow.
JunieB, it was wishful thinking on my part. Hate the thought of you having an infection in the bone or going through surgery again.
WildT, no worries about sharing your concerns. How else will we know when you need to be comforted or supported? It might just be something benign. Changes can be stressful. I always tell my DD ,who does not like changes, to go with the flow.
ShepK, happy to hear Robaxin is working for you. Today I went with my daughter to her physical appointment that was scheduled at 9:10. We didn't leave until 12:15! Making a patient with severe chronic pain sit for 2 hours in the waiting room seems cruel.
Queenie,
The bones in my legs and back are protesting....self inflicted( too many sets of badminton on Monday).
I'm really sleepy now. Wantto say more, but better stop here. Nite.

Gracie ~ In your pocket for your biopsy! Good to know that calming meds will be provided. It sounds like they are looking out for your comfort. I do a kind of self hypnosis thing during tests and such. After they get you laying down and ready for the procedure, close your eyes and first concentrate on your breathing. Breath in, count to four. Breath out, count to four. Repeat. As your body and mind relax, think of someplace serene and peaceful where you'd like to be. Your favorite nap spot, or a lounger in the backyard.... Concentrate on everything about that spot. If I am "going" to the beach, I think about the feel of the warm sand under the beach-blanket as I lay on it, the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt water..... I am pretty good at zoning out so I'll tell the doctor and techs not to talk to me until it's over. Sometimes I even fall asleep! Sending you thoughts of peace and comfort along with prayers for an easy test that shows only "good" stuff 🙏

I want to be at the beach. And swim in warm clear ocean waters.

Loverly ~ Next time I am going to ask right off if there is a spare exam room I can go lie down in while I wait. If the doctor wasn't so great, I would find someone else. I always bring a snack, a bottle of water and some toys (book, tablet) to keep myself entertained. You had a long wait time too.....gosh! Hope all went well with DD's checkup and that your sore legs feel better in the morning 😴💤
Susan ~ May your chest clear up and not interfere with your treatment tomorrow 🙁
WildT ~ Maybe the new ENT will be even better than your old one? Waiting is so hard, especially when we're worrying about our kids. Hope you can find some happy things to keep busy with. (((hugs))) FF/FFH is for my Fart Face Husband that I don't like very much. It is his name. The kids, my mom, my friends all call him that. He didn't used to always be such a FF. (sigh) He is the cloud that blocks the silver lining. Someday I'll dump him off at the shelter and claim he is a stray. Otherwise they charge you a fee. Then I'll go get a kitty, one that likes me better than the dog, and then we all will be ever so happy.
Wren ~ Oatmeal and chili powder - uck. Glad you couldn't taste it!
Queenie ~ clams in spaghetti sauce? I would have run away from home 😲 Normal spaghetti on giant plates with a little mozzarella and parmesan cheese sprinkled on top is delightful. No parsley though!
Sensi ~ "Hey!" to you and Chance 🌼
Sassy ~ If you're out there, give us a sign!
Chevy ~ Have you been busy in your garden?
Eeyore ~ Look! Here's the solution to having a Husky down there in that Texas heat......
Meow ~ Everyday should be a beach day ⛱
MammaRay ~ Hoping you're still lurking and know we all are thinking of you 💜
Kath, Lookie, Feline, Jazzy, Teka, HiHo, Wenchie, Patty and all the Owlettes...........

Grace, good luck with the bone biopsy!!
Susan, in my experience it will depend on if you have a fever and how your blood work looks (assuming they do that first). I was once hospitalized with a really high fever on a chemo day, and they skipped chemo that week.
Shep, Your FF explanation made me smile. I kicked mine out 6 years ago, but still have to see him a lot cuz of the kids. He annoys me. My instincts tell me my DS will be fine and the tonsil thing will be nothing, but that we'll have to go through hoops to get there. I'm just tired..tired of appointments and not enough fun and down time. I'm sure all can relate to that!
Today I go see my PS for my 5th TE fill. It will be interesting to see if he just fills lefty, which has less projection than righty. Then after lunch speech and OT for the kids.

Good morning, popping in to say hi before I get to another busy day.
JazzyJune- I hope you can get some solid answers on this hip problem with the loose hardware. Hopefully if you have to have more surgery, it won't be nearly the ordeal as the hip replacement (and saw my mother go through that so I know it is no small thing). They may need to just get in there and fix whatever ain't right. That being said, any surgery is not fun ever. You hold that goal to get your puppy once you are better from all this. There will be the perfect dog waiting for you, something to look forward to!
My work schedule is always busy, but finished the last of a series of big meetings and presentations on Monday so now I am focused on getting my real work done. Yesterday was a highly productive day and today should be as well. I had a good meeting with my client yesterday and she is reorging her area so I am trying to stay out of all that drama.
I went to the spa last night and had the most wonderful massage. My massage therapist I had for many years changed careers last year and closed her business, but found someone new this past February and had a good 5 or so sessions together this year. He worked on my achy feet and also did some amazing work on a creaky shoulder. I feel great today and made another apt for October.
Wishing everybody a good wonky Wednesday!

Good morning, afternoon, and evening. It's Wacky Wednesday!

ShepK, I am so grateful for you, even though you like to tease me.
Susan, have not heard from you so I presume went ahead with chemo. Such an unsettling position to be in.
Jazzy, you work hard and play hard
Gracie, hope all goes well with the biopsy and favorable results.
Hello to everyone!
Need to help DD get ready

Lover- love the wacky Wednesday picture. My friends are trying to get me do something crazy with my hair before I shave it....heads been getting sore. Great idea

yep...had chemo....prob won't be able to,get to family wedding this Saturday. But Dan Claire and Elena will be going. With chest cold and chemo week, prob a good idea to stay home. Plus Claire will be staying overnight and won't leave till 4 on Sunday. I want energy to play with Elena:)
Jazz, hope your hip is behaving....I am sure you will get a great dog. Try to get one trained...I am exhausted training this pup. Forgot how all your attention is on them until they nap and go down for bed.
How did the biospy go? Hope no pain
Queenies spaghetti dinner was awesome. They plated me a HUGE portion!! I thought, oh boy, I can't eat this much....I licked the plate clean. Very delicious. I cook everything from scratch, even make our own noodles sometimes....queenie and her hubby are right up,there with the great cooks!! Yummy evening!
Holeinone, praying for you..hope you are hanging in there.
Hi to everyone else. I was to tired to get my notebook, and that's all I could remember. Not bad for chemo day

Hey ladies, I'm going to try to be quick about this because my fill today has me in quite a bit of pain, but I have to tell you a cool story.
My PS mentioned the exchange surgery and said that he likes to do them 6 months from the TE placement. He said he knew I have to be strategic with my planning, for my kids, and that if I wanted to schedule surgery I could get it on the books. (Dec) I said I had something going on with my son and I wanted to wait until next week and see what happens there first. PS said that was fine..I could call in and then continued talking about my size preference, etc. Right before the Dr left the room he stopped and said, "Is there anything I can do for you as far as your son?" I briefly explained what was going on and that I wanted to talk to ENT first and make sure I don't have to coordinate multiple surgeries. He asked who the ENT was, and we talked about that for a minute. The kindness my PS showed me today is just so beautiful. I feel so fortunate to have this person in my life.

bone biopsy is in the bag. They did not put me under I was awake through the whole thing. They ended up giving me more versid four times because he was hammering or something on the thing he used to do a core biopsy. Tonight I'm sore. Have had Lortab and thinking of taking more but I just don't like the way they make me feel. I'm almost afraid to move much which is kind of silly but for me, probably normal. I've slept most of the day and now I have a headache!! Ugh!!! But I am glad it's ovre. Hopefully he got what he needed

lover, did you win your badminton game....sore body never so bad after a win...very painful in a loss:(
Wildtulip, so nice to have caring doctors. They have such a tough job.
My doc was in a not so good mood today. Really haven't seen that much in 16 years. But I was kinda blown off today:(. Got issues that needed addressing...blew passed them with no answers. Hubby was there, and he is persistent...having hive issues also....every 5 or 10 years I get a burst of them. Last for about 8 moths or so, then go away. Nurse has bad allergies too, told me about a great drug for hives....Dan insisted that she wrote a percription and add refills, so I don't have to run to my allergist on chemo week. She did it...ha ha .but my lung and breathing issues weren't addressed. So I am going to call my pcp, and get a referral for a pulmonary doc. I need a secretary!
Gracie, yeah, glad it's over. Got to wait till Monday to get results from onc? Best wishes, prayers, and hugs. Sleep well and sweet dreams:)
Nighty night

Does this mean that DH and I are hereby obligated to provide vats of normal/irregular spaghetti to members of the BC boards passing through SW Michigan?
If so, you're on! (yes, I did check with DH.)
And yes, susan3 did clear a serving of Truly Heroic Proportions. DH and I do hereby feel grateful that we were able to provide not only the food but a place of peace sufficient that we could have a quiet place to dine. Sometimes peace is necessary.

peace is a beautiful thing queenie...thanks again...it was a much needed night:)

Wildtulip- doctors who work in cancer care are far better than most. My MO, RO, and others related to my cancer care have been so good. My BS is a bit of work, but we are doing better together. That just has to do with her being a surgeon personality type. We found our way to a good place together after a number of years. She is a great surgeon and got the junk out and left me with little visible signs of the surgery. So grateful for this.
I am glad you have such good care. Helps us to get through all this stuff.

Im 99% certain my husband had a one night stand while I am finishing up my chemo treatments. I am so devastated and angry. I always said I'd be the kind of person who'd be like "see ya" if my husband cheated, but I feel so Terrible about myself. Here I am bald, 20# weight gain & mutilated with a double mastectomy & expanders, chemo induced menopause and my husband slept with another woman. I just can't process this. I am so sa
0 -
Jensen, sad to hear your story. Prayers and hugs for strength for you as you try to process this. I have no experience in this matter, so no advice to give,,,just love and compassion as you manage your way through this.. Take time, take a breath. My heart melts for you

here's Evie again, getting so big. You can see her front teeth.
Sas posted last on August 14 on 14 different threads, so maybe she got banned! I think it's redickious to be banned for helping others!
Jenspac, sorryto hear, maybe he didn't. Just try to hang in there and breath like Susan said.
Gracie, glad that's over and not doing too bad. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
I forgot to add, yes Queenie, I'd have spaghetti too if I ever get to your part of the country

Jwoo ~ Saw this tee shirt and immediately thought of you. Your tagline "Compassion should be your first reaction" resonates deeply; truly a beautiful thought. Hope you are healing quickly and comfortably along with your DBF 💜
JunieB ~ Are you still staying ER free? Hoping today was the day you got your brace.
Loverly ~ I was devastated when DS moved across the neighborhood. Maybe younger DD will be less ambitious and stay home with you. (((hugs)))
Queenie ~ Yes! Vats of normal spaghetti!
Susan ~ Hives are so unpleasant. Hope the new medicine works fast! Sorry you are feeling ucky and the onc was a grump 😟
Sensi ~ Any ideas on the wild hair? Your blonde hair should take color nicely. Wish I had advice to offer about your sore head - only thing I can think of is coconut oil to gently massage into your scalp?
Smaarty ~ I do see those little toothers! Such a happy lil' Miss Evie 😊
Mags ~ how are you and baby kitty doing?
Jazzy ~ love to read about all that you are up to. Always something interesting and very enviable when about massages!
WildT ~ Hope your discomfort eases fast. What a wonderful doc you have! It must have been such a comfort to have him to talk to and know that he truly cared.
Gracie ~ So very relieved the bone biopsy is over and that you were given the versid to stay comfortable. My experience was unpleasant; glad your doc was looking out for you. You will be sore for a while, take your pain meds and rest 🌹
Fallling asleep at the 'puter..........
Good night to everyone!

Jenspac- although I was not in a relationship during my bc dx and treatment, but know how bad it feels to be cheated on and during a time of crisis. Most women just know when it is happening, my suspicions always proved right. Don't make any decisions right now about this, but certainly understandable about your hurt and anger.
The most important thing right now is to get through treatment so you can be well again. When you are better and stronger, you can better decide what you need to do to either heal this relationship or decide anything else. If he cannot be there for you during this time, look to others for help. Family or friends who can go with you to appointments and the like. You don't need to explain it to people you are asking for beyond that you need some extra help. Not sure if you have anything else to do or if chemo is the end for you, but take care of you.
Hugs sister and wishing you better days.

Jazzy ~ You always know just what to say.
Jenspac ~ May all turn out for what is best for YOU.
If one of us says "poo, poo, poo" three times in a row while typing on this thread, I do believe our SassyPants will appear. (she's been talking "crap" on her C & D thread this a.m. 😊)
Asking for quick prayers, white magic, mystical chants.....really anything ya'll can come up with. Waiting on a call from my surgeon. My Nuero Onc' s nurse called this morning to say I don't need to see him tommorow (yay) and that she saw a notation that my surgery may have been approved!

Gracie, The radiologist an MD/DO, will do the CT guided needle biopsy which is a bone biopsy. Lot's of biopsies now are CT guided b/c they get to the actual spot instead of guessing. There is also a trend of ultrasound guided biopsies when that mode can be used, as it reduces radiation exposure.
The fella that did the injection for the sentinel nodes was a nuclear med technician(different section). If you ever have someone treat you that way again, please, report them.
I just saw Shep's explanation. I have never seen a biopsy without some local lidocaine, but you have a right to ask for it. AND a right to ask for some Versed and and injectable opiod. It was standard when I assisted with bx's. But that was pre 2009. You will need a driver and be NPO ( nothing by mouth) Generally, 4-6 hours before hand, but they all have their own rules.
Tulip, I know it may seem and is alarming The way your Doc said that about the singular tonsil. BUT as scary as it sounds, it will cause you to shake the rafters and not let another doc blow you off. It's better to know there is a risk. Sorry for the hurtfulness. Don't accept anything less than a biopsy. I can see the ENT doc saying let's put him on a course of antibiotics and watch it. Nada. Biopsy.
Shep, I'm still here, but taking a break from here and politics. Spending more time trying to swim and stuff. WOW on the Robaxin working that well yoohoo.!
