Our leaves are turning but they look so much better with a blue sky background. Geez, I get tired of gray.

WildT - I am glad some of your friends will be able to enjoy the Lime/Avocado muffin recipe. I had an opportunity to try them and they are delicious, so don't discount the recipe for yourself.

My MO, Palliative Care and the lymph edema therapist are here in Salem, but the other 6 doctors are in the Portland area. Hence, the 55 mile distance. I am on two waiting lists for income based housing in a town called Wilsonville, OR. It is 30 miles closer and has public transportation 6 days a week, which Salem does not. The wait list for those complexes are 1) 3 years and 2) 18-24 months. So we'll see how that works out.

Sensi - I hope you are having a comfortable weekend. Hug Chance for me please.

Loverly - I cannot even wrap my head around the thought that you were once an atheist, agnostic, etc. So awesome what God can do for us.

Shep - Doing any better today?

The leaves here in the Willamette Valley are also changing and falling. Before long we'll just have the skeletal looking trees left for several months.

Internet & cable service went on the fritz earlier from bad weather. Awfully quiet without them. Anyway, I decided to bake some Oatmeal, Cranberry, Walnut cookies. Dang Nab it, I over baked them. but they are still edible. Fortunately I only made a dozen, so the rest of the dough is ready to finish baking tomorrow. So only I and you ladies will ever know. Shhh! no telling. ;0)

Well I'm gonna call it a night. Catch you all later. Sleep well.

    Morning!

Patty, Happy belated birthday! Did you celebrate yet? I think you said at one point a celebration may come later.

Junie, Oh, believe me, I have not discounted the lime/avocado recipe for myself. I made of cope of recipe for me too! Right now I'm focusing on using up ingredients I have on hand, before trying something new. I need to defrost my freezer, so I will be making a lot of banana bread in the near future! I like to make my banana bread in muffin cups..easier to hand out to people. Bummer about your batch of cookies. I hate when I put work into making something and then it doesn't come out just right.

Shep, So glad you got your thumb and finger shots. Is your hand feeling better today?

    Sensi, Chance looks so huggable!

I got to work at my children's school again yesterday and at one point I was wiping off some tables. My son was finishing up his lunch and walking by me as he headed back to class...I wasn't sure how he would be around his friends, but he stopped and kissed my cheek. I am SO wrapped around that boys finger! My daughter was so happy to see me, her teacher stopped by and told me she had a spring in her step. :)

Today after school my daughter has a Dr appointment, and I'm hoping to schedule a surgery. It's really minor..she has a paralyzed vocal cord and periodically needs to have a procedure for it. It's under anesthesia, but only takes 1/2 hour. My daughter actually likes going to the hospital..all the attention from the doctors and nurses. There's also a child life specialist who gives out stuff. The Minneapolis Children's hospital is really great..so fortunate to be close to it.

    Have a good day!

Loverlife - thanks for the link, great reading on the recurrance/nerve block connection. Also mentioned was the benefit of getting patients eating and walking and of anti nausea meds (I was given a nausea patch). After surgery I was surprised to be on a regular diet from the get go, good protein and vegetables. None of that first meal with jello & broth.

Wildtulip - beautiful fall foliage, ours takes a bit longer to turn here and never quite looks that vivid.

Sassy - count me in on the Sacto get together whenever Sensi is up to it. I plan on being good to go as soon as the drains are gone.

Shep - how did the trigger shots turn out? Were your trigger fingers due to cancer meds? I always thought mine were.

Rejoicing with you, Sensi. Interesting regarding the taxoterrible rash.

JeanQ, did you mean to say Smaarty? Ms. Sassy is on sabbatical leave. Would love to meet you for lunch. Depends on how Sensi's stomach is, we will play it by ears. I can give you a ride. Driving was uncomfortable for me the first few weeks. DH would not let me drive until after 6 weeks. Gotta love the guy. Are you desperate for a shower yet? How is the pain?

Can't believe she said I have a big mouth. Bawling Well, maybe a little bit. I will blame it on Ms. Chevy. When I first came to this forum I told the ladies here that I was worried if I talked too much I most likely would put my foot in my mouth. The wise Ms Chevy advised me not to worry about that and if I found myself with one foot in the mouth to go ahead and put the other one in also. So if I say anything wrong, I learned it from the best teacher. It's ok. I was called worse by another friend...."cabbage patch". Had no clue what it meant until Ms. Smaarty translated to real English Shocked So you are forgiven, my hairless feet hobbit friend. By the way, how are the thumb and finger?

Patty and JunieB, not my work but His in His great mercy and grace. I do not deserve it for the things I had done.

WildT, the oncologist agreed with what yours are doing. He said quality of life is important. I was dissappointed to hear that most of his patients who have had severe arthalgia do not have relief with switching AI. I can't seem to find any studies to confirm the effectiveness of changing to another AI, but have read that switching AIs has helped some. I do believe genetics play a role in how we metabolize drugs. What work for one person might not work for another. I read that people with normal to high vitamin D level are less likely to get severe bone pain and that the incidence of joint/muscle pain appears to be highest in patients who are in the younger transition into menopause? Does your MO plan to put you back on another AI after a few years of Tamoxifen? I wonder if Claritin, which helps some people with bone pain from Neupogen, will work with AI induced joint pain. Would it be wonderful if drug companies design anti cancer drugs with desirable side effects like youthful looking skin, longer eyelashes, thicker hair (well on the head only and not in the caves or bottom lawn), etc.

The women get together was encouraging. One lady shared about her many trials and what she learned about faith. This lady herself went through BC treatments about 9 years ago. Her older daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 19 and younger daughter also was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at 21. Sadly, her DD2 lost her battle 4 years later at the prime of her life. This is what she said about faith about God: " Faith is not necessarily believing that everything will be ok, but that if it's not ok, I will be ok with God." No one really is immune to suffering. I like what Friedrich Nietzsche said about suffering... "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in suffering."

Our neighbors went deep sea fishing and had great catch. They shared some with us. We in turn shared with another friend

Wow......I missed somewhere that we have another lunch buddy :).  Over the next 3 weeks, the time I have to watch the closest is between Oct 19-26.  Not sure how this last round will hit. MO does say it's cumulative...so we shall see.  Let me know works for you ladies....I can drive and meet anywhere.

How is everyone?  I'm still half wired from the steroids I got and took today.  Going to try and counter react soon and take Ativan.

Hope everyone had a good hump day. ;)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to share. The puppies were born earlier today. 3 Boys & 2 Girls. Around the time they are 4 weeks, pics will be posted so I can choose mine. Breeder said she'd post video so I could see their personalities better. I should be able to bring my new fur baby home mid-December.

Oh my. Potty training, teething, chewing, etc. WHAT HAVE I DONE? LOL
