feeling, great pics. You are so good at that:)
Sheps, Dan and I were up by the kids this weekend. Hubby figured out she is crying cause she can't see. Hates the sun, so top is over her, and at night, getting dark earlier, she can't see. So at night he did the flashlight on his phone and pointed at her mirror. She was an angel the whole time. So the kids are going to rig up a headlight to the top of her car seat to point at the mirror:). Usually you never figure stuff out cause they go through stages so quickly.
Morning everyone. Hope we all have a peaceful, pain free, or pain lessened day.
Gotta find a new PCP. Mine is on indefinite leave:(

Shepkitty, We went to a cat show once and there was an empty cage with a photo of the cat using the toilet. The cat was sitting on his owner's shoulder while he wandered around the show. He said he had to hide in the shower to get the photo because the cat liked his privacy. He also said he wished he had known how big the cat would get before teaching it to ride on his shoulder.

Jazzy - So glad you had a great time in the Big Apple. Looking forward to reading about your experiences.
Wren - Glad you didn't experience bad weather related problems.
kathindc - Wow, last minute preparation, so stressful. I hope once all is said and done the wedding will go off without a hitch and be very enjoyable for everyone.
Susan - Glad you were able to figure out what was making Elena fussy.
Feline - Your pics are beautiful. I've never seen a mushroom with a red cap like that.
Shep - I am glad to hear your finger injection worked. Mine has not gotten any better, so I've made another appt. w/ rheumatologist for another injection. Unfortunately, she doesn't have an opening until Nov. 30th. Boo. I have an appt. with an immunologist later today. Gonna find out if I have a true allergy to Morphine. Just for the info. for the future, not because I need it at this point.
Also, very handsome fisher-man.
Since I have been dog-less for 5 1/2 years, I don't have any of the supplies I'll need for the new pup. I was thinking last night that I need to get his first toothbrush, toothpaste, rug, blanket, bowls, collar, harness, etc. I have a really cute pattern for a dog coat, so when he's big enough I'll measure him and make him a coat. Plus, I can make his collar as well. He'll also need a bell for his collar, so I can know where he is all the time. Oh my! parenthood, so exciting and scary, even if it is for a four-legged baby.
Loverly, Patti, Smaarty, Lookie, Mags & Sensi - Waving Hi!
Hope you all have a great day, with as little pain & stress as possible.

Feline, you're an awesome photographer!

I agree, Kath! Her pictures always put a smile on my face. Thanks for the ideas about recording the conversation with dad. The older I get the more I appreciate him. He is a man who is content with simple things. My DH loves him.
Boy, you sound super busy. Hope you are not too stress with the with the planning. Please share pictures.
Sensi, I love how Chance pounces when you ask him a question. What a loving momma you are. How are you feeling?
Ms. S, awwww. Showed the pics to DH2 and she made the same awwww
Ms. Wren and JunieB, glad your places are still intact. Didn't know you have a storm. I don't watch or listen to the news much lately.
Susan, Dan is one smart man. We figured that out afterward. I remember as soon as DD was old/big enough to have her car seat faced the front, she cried much less. Elena sounds like a smart girl.
Welcome, Lita!!
Shep, how can I get upset at you, my Hobbit friend. So stressful re: the bank and online payment.
Darn! I am running out of time. Need to return to work from lunch break.
WildT, hugs. One thing at a time. You will get through all the surgeries.

feline. BeUtiful. I am gonna print these out and put n my goals / inspiration board. Awesome
Junieb. Aww new parent. So much to pep for. And not 9 Mo e or a baby shower to help you prepare. Lol we never had dogs growing up. When I met dh he seemed to be a pet freak. Almost scared me away from him. One day we were going to meet my mom and he brought his dog and left her at my apt. She pooped in the middle of my bed. Grr. She was def having a say in sharing him. Wasn't long living together that his dog had me wrapped. She got a hot spot and I just held her and cried. It looked way more Painful ten it actually was I guess. Wasn't long and I went and rescued a puppy from the pound. True love. I remember when he lost his first tooth I saved it. Still have it 25 years later.
Shep. Makes me wanna go fishing. There may be plenty of fish in the pond but they certainly aren't all his size.
Susan. Great idea for mirror. Yes they def go thru stages so quickly
Glad to hear SAS is safe. I dropped a quick line today snail mail to holeinone
Pretty good day for me. Beginning to feel like I did before hospital stay. Yea. Dss get out of school early Thur and no school Friday for parent teacher conference. Gotta figure out something fun to do.
My bestie lost her bro on Sunday. Really sad situation. He lives in another state with no family close by. Just recently moved there so no close friends. He has many healtj issues. Mostly caused by kidney cancer several years ago. So last Friday no o head ears anything from him for awhile. Couldn't reach him at all. They called his local police who said they would do a well fare check on him. After many hours waiting they called the police back who said not their job to call relatives back. But they went to his house and he was fine. Sunday early morning on still no call from bro even after police visit. Friends dh called police again for well fare check. About an hour later police call back to say they found him dead at home. Had been at least 36 hours but probably more like 3-4 days. Wth ??? Does this mean they never checked ? Well they didn't take the name of the first officer and police say no record of any such call. Grr. Bestie beating herself up tbinking she should have flown there to check on him. So I am just trying to be there for support. I am def pro police. Have tremendous respect for them. But tis time someone dropped the ball.
Hugs hootie hoo

Patty, sad...prayers to your friend
Jazzbug, I have a leash and collar in purple if you want me to send it to you. Was using it for my brothers dog. The length they want you to get for training. Sad for me to look at it. But is purple manly enough??
0 -
Susan - Purple is the color of royalty. I have a purple bell for his collar. Thank you for the offer, but if it makes you sad to have it there, I know it would also make me sad also. I still think of little M_ _ _ _ y too. My listing the items I need to get was just me thinking out loud.
Patty - So sorry to hear of your friends' loss.
Off to bed now. Goodnight Ladies.

Patty, sorry for your friends loss. The police should have contacted her back. I had a similar experience a few years ago and had to have the police do a check, and they called me back and had me speak to my lost person to be sure.

Patty so sorry to hear of your friend's loss, and of how that grief has been compounded by someone at the deceased's local police.
0 -
Patty, that is devastating. I am glad you are there for your dear friend. What a nightmare!! Always told myself and the kids that when you work in any kind of services, if you are slacking and don't pay special attention to what you do, people will suffer. Hugs sister.

I have addresses for Holeinone and Wench. I haven't heard back from either one so don't know if I should pm you guys with their address. What do you think?
0 -
Yes, we should wait for their approval. When you send a card to them, please send our love.
Hey, it's Wacky Wednesday.

JeanQ, hope you are drain free and getting some of your energy back by now.
ShepK, forgot to tell you I love the photos of your fur babies. Wonder what they were thinking. Wish Mitzy has the same love for water. We had 3 days of rain last week and it was not easy to get her to go pee/poo. She just stared at me and refused on one of the day. Held her bladder for at least 15 hrs! She could be a stubborn brat. I was tempted to put some of my pee where she normally goes.

Loverly - Although you posted that pic for "Wacky Wednesday", it is really a beautiful pic. The woman posing is quite pretty with the different designs/colors in her costume.

Smaarty ~
Holeinone hasn't logged into BCO since Sept..... If you or Patty have her current address, maybe one of you send a card and let her know we are thinking of her? Plus, one card would be a good way to know if her address is right and not so overwhelming as a bunch of cards all at once. She was having such a hard time with all the stage iv chit..... It would be nice if those here who "know" her could have a way to offer her support. Those of us who've been at iv for a while (or always) could maybe help her with words of comfort or ears for listening. I don't "know" HiHo except from here, but do get the feeling she would like to be asked first before all of us write to her.
Wenchie was logged in 8 days ago but is not posting. She has been active on several threads. Last we all knew, she was caring for her mom while going for her chemo treatments. She is probably wiped out...... With our Pirate Girl being the extrovert that she is, I say "make it rain"! Sharing her address with those who "know" her I think would be okay.
Being stressed and sick and sad sucks. When I was first Dx'd I was sooo overwhelmed with pain and fear. Family, neighbors and friends - some I knew well, some I didn't - sent me so many thoughtful cards over that first year. I was so touched that those people took the time to show they cared. I've kept all those cards on display on a shelf where I can see them when I need a "boost".
Just my thoughts.........

NOOOOO! This IS Wacky Wednesday - Best Loverly pic ever!

Loverly ~ I was going to send Marti over to your house as payback for calling me a Hobbit .....again! Her feet are blonde NOT black. Guess there's just enough puddles left out back to play in. Oh, and because I was upset with you I didn't even bother to clean up the messy rug before taking the picture. But you did just give a nice compliment so I'll keep Marti home 😛
Waiting so long to pee is bad! I hope Mitzy didn't give herself a bladder infection. If only our fur babies would understand that we are trying to make them do things for their own good....
Muddy Marti

Shepkitty, you are blessed with such a tender, caring heart.
I've kept all my cards, too. I rotate them and keep a few of them in site on the kitchen table at all times. It does help.
I was just Dx'd in April, so I'm at the beginning of this adventure. Looks like it's been 3 and a half years since your Dx. How have things been for you? Is the Femara working well? I'm still on Xeloda, but they'll probably transition me over to AI's in either December or January, depending on what my next set of scans looks like.
Right now, fatigue is the biggest issue for me, and the sucky aspect of still not being able to sleep very well. Some nights my medical cannabis helps, and some nights it doesn't. Oh well, at least I'm too disabled now to work because of the painful bone mets and hand/foot syndrome, so if I'm groggy during the day, so what?
Trying to stay positive and find at least a couple of things to be grateful for each day...today the sky is a lovely blue, and I can see the hills. We've had terrible fires again this past summer into fall, and it's mostly been a hazy brown sky.
Take care,
Lita

Turned on the news earlier and there was a story of a gas explosion in Portland. 3 firefighters, 1 police officer and 4 civilians injured, but thankfully no one died. A construction worker accidentally hit a gas line. The explosion destroyed one building and damaged apartment buildings nearby.
Certainly not a Wacky Wednesday for those people.

JunieB ~ That's horrible! But we can still keep the monkey picture up right?
Lita ~ (((hugs)))

Good evening- my vacation high is definately OVER after three days at my client site. But one more on site to go, plus some meetings on Friday from home. I will survive this vacation re-entry week.
Been posting pics each day on FB and also on the drinking thread if you are interested. Sort of like I did here with the balloon pics earlier this month. Got a few more days of them to go. It is helping me to keep the vacation alive as I go through this week!

Also, I agree about cards for supporting people. I was diagnosed in 2012 after so many other things had already happened with two deaths in the family and my sister's diagnosis already that year. By the time it came for my news, I was just numb and did not have much to say to anyone. Cards are easy as you just have to read them and absorb the love. Phone calls and e-mails suggest a response. Sometimes too many questions no one wants to talk about or has answers too. I hope our friends are okay. Sending them love!

Jazzygirl - So true about cards vs electronic wishes. I'd never thought about that "suggest a response" factor but you are so right.
Loverly - Yes drains are gone! Still napping but energy is better each day. Adam's salad - hilarious!
Feline - Beautiful pictures, did you take those? The red mushroom!
Shep - My fingers are good right now, not sure but perhaps from being off work. Maybe theyre enjoying the rest. Or could be the regular doses of tylenol since surgery just make them feel better. Before this respite from pain my triggers were off and on, no reasoning and my doc was pushing for surgery not more shots so I started just massaging them all the time when they bothered me and sometimes they went away. Large doses of fish oil too. I dont really know what worked. Thank goodness your RA has stayed in remission. My cat loves being an "only" because shes a terrible mean thing, you know the cat that scratches you when you stop petting her or dont give her what she wants. My DH thinks its adorable...a fart face also! My faithful old kitty finally died last year after 18 years, he was sweet and I sure miss him.
Anyone have advice to alleviate the burning pain after MX?? If I could get that to go away I'd be almost human again.

Hello everyone!
Kath, Good luck with the wedding and craziness in the next week. I hope when it's done you get a chance to breath and rest.
Shep, Thanks for update on Sas (days ago..I'm behind). My DS does not actually HAVE to wait as far as getting tonsils removed, but he says he doesn't have pain, so I have to weigh missed time from school/work. Medically there's no rush. People are telling me it's aweful recovery, but better the younger you are, so I know I can't delay too long. I REALLY do not want to put him through the surgery/recovery, so I have to do more research before I'm ready. Marti is cute...even with muddy paws!
Feline, those autumn pictures are fantastic!!! My goodness you are talented.
Junie, It must be fun thinking about puppy supplies and names. I can't wait to see which one you choose. How scary about the gas explosion!
Loverly, Hugs back at you! I don't recall...what do you do for work?
Patty, We don't have school today all day, and tomorrow too. I offered to take my kids to a corn maze (the place has other stuff too), but they aren't interested. I think it would have been fun, but saves me a bunch of money. They want to go to the library..how can I deny that?! Tomorrow one of my son's friend's and his mom and new baby sister are coming over for dinner. I'm sorry about your besties brother. So glad she has you! I think about that scenario with my brother who lives alone, in a different state and works from home. Hugs as you walk her through this difficult time.
Lita, I'm sorry for your pain. Hugs!
Jean, are you talking about the pain in your chest..coming and going, shooting pain? I'm thinking that's the nerve pain. Did you get a scrip for muscle relaxer? That may help, and time. It does get better with time. I so wish I had documented things like this in the moment, so I could be more helpful. I don't know WHY I thought I would remember the details!
Jazzy, Sounds like work is keeping you busy. I'll take a look at other thread to see pics. So happy for you that you took the trip.
I don't know the ladies that you all are talking about, except one, I think. I agree that cards from those that know the addresses are nice. I think calls are nice too, if anyone has numbers. From my single perspective, it's nice to get a call and hear someone's voice.
I'm still waiting for more pain improvement since coming off my meds, but it's only been two weeks. I REALLY want to lose more weight, for my health and trying to do so before Dec exchange because I know it can make a difference in my look/results and physically handling the surgery. My pre-ops are mid Nov, so I've got that deadline I'm working towards. I'm exercising, but controlling my eating is challenging. Send me your will power!

WildTulip best wishes to you with your health and pain improvement.
Thanks to everyone for the kind compliments. Photography is a real joy for me.
