Well my decision is made as to which puppy will be my little guy. I now have to wait another 36 days before I get to bring him home. So exciting.

morning ladies, well it morning here in Oz. Got to Oz Friday night. Long flight but not bad. Watched two movies, read, napped a little bit, I don't sleep on planes. Going home will be a bitch!
Here's DGS and family. They went 5 miles kayaking and a 3 miles hike in pretty rough terrain. He's on his leg he's had for 7 days! Tired but they enjoyed it all!
DH and I are settling in. Going up north tomorrow to hot air ballooning, cave exploring, maybe and a wine tour.

Thanks Susan & JazzyG - Yes it has been a long wait. Susan, the pic of the puppy sleeping in the car is really cute. As far as names, I have a few, but will wait until I meet him to decide. Examples are Friday, Kirby, Tucker, etc.
I was going to bring him home on my birthday weekend, but I have a chance to go to the Portland Zoo and see the animals & Zoo Lights for Christmas, so thought it better for me to wait an extra week to bring him home. I've never been to the Zoo here or seen the Holiday Zoo Lights. I hear they are quite pretty. This is gonna be an excellent B-day & Christmas, I think. The Zoo even has scooters to rent, since it is apparently very large and spread out.

Ms. Jan, I have great respect for what you did for those Keyan girls. The thirst for learning of those girls reminds me of my dad who did the same thing because his parents didn't have the money to pay for school tuitions. There was no such thing as free school. If you were poor, your kids would be illiterate. Dad would sit outside to listen and learn along with the other children inside the classroom. Our kids over here don't know how fortunate they are to have free K-12 education.
Wildt, I am glad you understood my typo. Haha! Hope you are done winterizing your home. We will attempt to make pumpkin cheesecake when DD comes home for the holiday.

Yoga anyone? Not saying that you have done this before. Actually, my younger Sis was the unlucky recipient once in yoga class during one of the pose. I forgot the name of the it, but it's the one where you squat on the floor like a pretzel. The one that supposedly helps move along the "bubbles" in your stomach. Could you imagine being in her shoes? She was right behind the lady.

MammaRay - So sorry to hear you're in the hospital. I hope it will only be a short time until you're able to go to the comfort of home.
Loverly - Tunnel of Lights is BEAUTIFUL! Was that "Kirby" slip a hint? I like it though. When you do the Pumpkin Cheesecake, try it with a Ginger Snap crust instead of the regular graham cracker crust. Also, topping it with a caramel & toasted pecan topping is yummy too. Both really compliment the pumpkin flavor.

Thank you, Jazzy and Loverly! Technically it was the twelfth--fifty this year (eep!)--but getting the wishes the next morning is even better. I usually do celebrate my birthday when it suits me rather than on the actual day, so I'm fine with that. This year, a trip to Chicago (nominally over Thanksgiving) for a Gold-Plated Spa Massage, an opera and a nice restaurant or two.

Shep apparently that tunnel of lights is in Japan. It is real, just not in Ireland. (Never get why is it someone attaches wrong info to a beautiful image like that. What's wrong with saying here's the tunnel of lights in Japan?)

I've been very sick. Thought for sure we were hospital bound Friday night. Dh kept plugging me with meds. Both for vomiting , diahrea and pain. He must have massaged me for hours. Finally fell asleep. Starting to feel better but still pretty rough. Of the joys of cancer

Susan3: Awwww, an owl (birthday) cake! Trust me, there's enough for everyone on the Insomniacs thread, and I'm ever so happy to be able to share cake and loving camaraderie with all of you.
Even though I may move forward (and thereby off the boards to a considerable extent) with my life, I am bringing all of you with me in my heart. In a complete absence of gooieness: You support(ed) me when I need it, and hopefully I you in turn. For the moment, I've gone back to school at the local community college. We'll see where this goes.

Just a quick drop in to wave hello. I'm back to the real world tomorrow after being off for 4 months. Think I'm ready besides the wake up time of 5am.....oh and the fact that it's a full moon. Always a little extra crazy around that time for some reason. Had a good weekend, though I didn't make it to the beach. Another time.
