Yeah Mags! - So glad you got to enjoy the holiday meal with your family. Also, thanks for reminding us of that verse. A good one to focus on.
Smaarty - Those stairs look very scary to try and navigate down. You are quite the traveler. I sure hope you are having an exceptional time on your trip.
Loverly - Yes, having dinner with all of us in attendance would be fun.
I made the pie last night and had planned on doing the turkey, potatoes, etc., but woke up to intestinal cramps and the all the other stuff that goes with that. It is now 3:45 p.m. on Thanksgiving and the turkey is still in the fridge. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. Now back to the recliner and watching episodes of "Strange Inheritance".
Shep - I hope you're having a grand time today.
Sensi - Did you have to work today? I hope you're feeling well and enjoying the day regardless of where you are.

Jazzy June, man, that sucks, but it could have been anyone of us with GI distress, thanks to Mr Cancer. We never know what stunt he's going to pull on us and when. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
Felt better today than yesterday. Did desserts yesterday and back (with all the mets) was killing me, but today not as bad, even without pain meds, go figure...
My annual T'day lasagna turned out great. DD helped a lot. Hardly thought about Mr Cancer at all. Enjoying the last of some lovely Zinfandel. Haven't had a glass of wine in months...hope my liver with all its mets forgives me. But it's Thanksgiving, so it's OK to have one glass. Next year is not promised to us, so let's enjoy the holidays while we still can.
(((Hugs)))

Mags, so true. Thankful that we are only here temporary and our pain and suffering are momentary. But, it would be nice though not to have go through them.
Junie, sorry to hear you have stomache issues too. Praying that it is not another bout of diverticulitis. Boo to low counts. After our walk with Mitzy early this afternoon, I had the big D and was sweating bullets because of the cramping. GI has a mind of its own. Thank God no vomiting like the last time a few months back. Good thing is I don't have to worry about putting on weight with all the foods this Thanksgiving. Hah!
Heading over to my brother's and SIL's place for dinner.

Hi, Meadow! So sweet to see you popping in. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
Lita, it's ok. I am glad you enjoyed the glass of wine.

Hello ladies- Yes Jazzyjune I did have to work. Was my first full 5 day work week. I'm feeling beat. My body is definitely feeling it, but it's good to be back. Had a pretty good day with my residents, and made sure I got some extra hugs and a couple of gobble gobble's out of them. Then I headed to my mom's. I even ventured out and shopped a little. Home and ready to fall asleep. I love all the pics of Kirby.
Hope everyone had a wonderful day filled with love. Thankful for you all

I hope everyone had a pleasant day yesterday.
Meadow, sweet picture.
I'm moving slow today..finishing up cleaning the kitchen and putting away leftovers while putting up Christmas tree. One holiday to the next, in the blink of an eye.

Meadow - I still draw turkeys like that
Sensi - Slow down girl! Work, family visit, shopping......all in one day? Get some rest! (now I'm tired!) Love how you care so much for your residents and that they and their families care about you too.
Mostlymom - I agree.....those stairs need some traeding for the slick wood steps too.
Smaarty - Be careful!
Mags - A nice dinner and loving family that cooks Wishing you many more enjoyable, ouch-free meals (((hugs)))
Loverly - hope your guts calmed down; so stressing when that stuff hits when you're trying to go somewhere.......especially when it's a food involved occasion. Your video of DD1's homecoming is the best - happy doggie, happy mommy!
WildT - You are another one who needs to slow down....gosh, you do sooo much! I hate that your dad is acting so ugly. You are an awesome mom and a very good person. Keep on enjoying the special times with your kids and the people in your life who make you happy. Unfortunately blood doesn't always mean love. Someone who is hurtful to you and your children does not need to be in your life. (been there too) Remember......you are good enough, strong enough and doggone it......people LIKE you!
JunieB - worried for you...... Hoping you just caught a little stomach bug and that you feel better now. Maybe that is what brought those white counts down? I regret to inform you that I did not have even a teeny bit of turkey skin and the traditional Argument was forsaken.
FFFH is bellowing.......hope to bbl
Love to all y'all!

Shep, Thank you for the kinds words. You are so sweet to me! I heard from my dad yesterday..he sent me a message on FB that said, "Happy Thanksgiving to DD, DS and you. Have the kids mentioned what they want for Christmas yet? Please let me know." Hopefully he'll just end up sending gift cards. When I talk to my brother, he gives me the impression that he thinks I'm being stubborn and should sweep things under the rug. But I agree with you, I really don't need someone in my life who is hurtful to me. I am going to be slowing down now..taking the month of Dec off work for my EX/recovery/winter break. Today I took it pretty easy..dishes, 2 loads of laundry and put up Christmas tree. I got in a long nap too! How are you feeling, Shep? Good luck with FFFH...long weekend with him?
Tomorrow afternoon I'm taking the kids to see Santa and Albert (Elf). There's a floral place (Bachman's) that we go to every year and Santa and Albert put on a 20 minute skit/sing along and then you line up to take a pic with Santa. You bring your own camera and it's free. Even though the kids are older, it's still fun. We've been doing it so many years that Albert recognizes the kids. It's one of my favorite things to do each year.

Trying to feel "normal" this afternoon. Took a nice walk with Sofia and DH to burn off some of yesterday's calories.
Sofia was so sweet to all the people fishing off the little pier.

Hanging out with my co-workers baby at a Thanksgiving with Friends. He almost has more hair then I do!

Awww! Sensi - Such a cute pic of you and the baby. I am glad you made it through your first week back at work, and I hope you're able to rest up this weekend. Did Chance get any turkey yesterday?
Breeder posted on FB today saying that the puppies are getting restless and learning how to escape from the puppy area. Finnegan (kirby's brother) figured out how to open the crate door at the vets the other day and all 5 puppies were running around the exam room trying to not be corralled again. They've also discovered how much fun it is to tear up the newspaper in their box. That is a terrier for ya!
Shep - You have such restraint. No turkey skin? No debates? What in the world is up with those people? ;0) That dang FFH! When is he ever gonna learn to be nice?
Lita - Looks like you and Sofia enjoyed a nice walk. I hope your back is feeling better today. What do you put in your lasagna? It has been more than 12 years since the last time I made a lasagna from scratch. It took 4 hours to assemble and I was tired, but it tasted great. Just too much work for just one person. Same with Chile rellenos too.
As I said before, yesterday was a challenge and uncomfortable. Today was better, at least no cramping, but some of the other stuff, plus some queasiness with certain foods . So weird. I did however get to take advantage of some of the Black Friday sales online. I was able to get some of Kirby's supplies and food, plus a new slow cooker to make the bone broth to put on his food. I also just ordered his toothbrush and tooth gel. I can't find a collar I like, so I'll just make one for him since it will only be for his tags and bell. Otherwise he'll wear a harness. Oh my gosh, there is so much to get ready for my furbaby :0) Can't imagine what is involved in preparing for a human baby.
WildT - So glad you had a nice T-day with your kids and family. I'm sure you're exhausted after all the cooking and cleaning.
Hello Meadow!
Loverly - Geez, you poor woman. You really have a time with your G.I. issues. At least you got back home with Mitzy before it struck this time. Also, I forgot to tell you how I enjoyed the video you posted of Mitzy greeting your DD.
I hope everyone has a good rest tonight. I'll BBL.

Happy Birthday M0mmy!

Thanks gals. Birthday started out not so good but it got better. Hubby and the "kids" got me a hilarious card and an ITunes gift card. The card had a picture of a woman lounging in a chair and her other half asks "What's for dinner?" Her answer is: "Go to Hades burgers with a side order of Kiss My Rump!" Inside it says "It's your birthday, accomodate no one."

Sounds like my kind of birthday card!

JazzyJune...yeah, it pretty much takes all day to do my lasagna, but it's our Thanksgiving tradition. I only do it once a year and I make a double batch so we freeze one to eat during Super Bowl Sunday. I use three kinds of meat, diced onion, celery, bell peppers, and mushrooms. I brown the meat separately while the veggies are getting translucent in a big dutch oven on the stove, then I season the meat with lots of herbs and some spices along with lots of minced garlic. Once the meat is infused with all the flavorings, I merge it with the vegetables and add tomato sauce. The longer it simmers, the better it is. For the layering process, I use Ricotta cheese with thawed, drained frozen spinach mixed into it, Mozarella cheese, and Romano and Parmesan. It tastes fabulous the next day, too.
Off to get a haircut (what little I have left, ha ha).
