sheps, so glad you are home...so sorry the hospital made it worse. Rest up sister

Jazz, still recovering...I don't like this...patience is NOT my middle name :)

    Morning all

How are you doing chevster?? Haven't seen your greatvhumor and stories here in awhile..miss you !!

Shep- so glad to hear from you and it sounds like the surgery was highly successful. I have some peripheral vision issues from something else and have had to teach myself to really look around because I tend to leave things behind because I don't see them out of the corners of my eyes. I hope your blurriness is gone soon and glad you are home resting comfortably. The hospital experience sounded horrendous......

Lita- I am sorry you are getting no relief with this shoulder pain. Can you get in with an orthopedic?

Susan- not a patient person either, cancer taught me that the body surely does have it's own recovery schedule.

Sending all the sisters here who are struggling much love today

Shep, It just occurred to me that it would be a good idea to print out a sign that said NO OPIOIDS in very large letters and have someone pin it to your gown. If nothing else, it might make someone read your chart to see why not. Your MRI experience sounds like torture. I had an experience with cough syrup where it loosened all the gunk but prevented me from coughing. I thought I was going to drown. Haven't had any since.

Lita, I hope something can be done to control your pain. You'd think they could tape it to prevent motion, at least. I hope you're able to get some sleep soon.

hi everyone. Been busy getting ready for last trip to Seattle. Then no more until June.

Shep, when I go in they always put a red band, like a name tag that says I have an allergy. Kind of thought all hospitals did that. Sorry your experience so suck, I was hoping that you had great docs like this.

    Or, remember him?

Junie (I think) asked about curved piecing. This is a cheater was to look hard but very easy to do. No curved piecing. One part is a little bigger on one edge to overlap, then you cover with bias tape. Easy-peasy!

Lita, hope the shoulder feels better soon.

Lover, have you heard from Chevy, she's too quiet.

    Looking, are you done now?

I got to vacuum today, 😜 It's been 5 weeks, I'm doing good. Saw the PT last week. She was surprised how well I was doing and healing. The scaring seems to be getting better, been using Mederma. Anybody use something for the scars? It's never going to be pretty, I wanted to be able to swim, some dog ears but not tooooo bad.

Us Sac girls need to get together soon. Maybe next week?

    Hope everyone else is ok.

Smaarty, Are you coming to Seattle for the sewing Expo? I would offer to meet, but Puyallup is farther than I want to drive and I'm sure you'll be dead tired. I hear it's a great Expo.

Smaarty, both of my scars were half keloid scars. Of course they were right in front, couldn't have been on the side. I used Mederma but it didn't do a thing. After awhile I just rubbed them. They've come down quite a bit. Not gone but better.

Shep, glad you're home. Can't believe what you went through while in the hospital.

Lover, your niece is a doll baby. So cute.

    Janie,Kirby looks rather debonair.

Aw GEEZ!!!!!!!!! What was that I wake up to? This GUY, almost dressed, and I was having hallucinations.... or something!!!! But thank-you for THAT !! That reminds me of this time DH went to ER for this HORRIFIC pain in his groin! I mean, I didn't even DO it! Well he wound up having Epiditimitis.... An infection in this tube guys have down there somewhere.... but the STORY is..... This "Doctor" walked straight out of the "Interns" I think! When he walks IN, our Daughter's both fainted...... almost! He was this most HANDSOME guy, in his little green suit and smile..... Sheri quietly whispered...... "I think I have a headache.... or something." SmileLoopyWinking

Hah! So I still have this incessant COUGHING now.... left-over from whatever it was that invaded me!..... It starts in the afternoon.... And the treatments seem to help, but last night I took 2 of those z-quil.... AND IT HELPED! Man, I had the weirdest dreams !!!! But at least no coughing...!

This crazy weather! And THEN we didn't even GO anywhere yesterday! So it wasn't as though I was out fooling around looking for trouble.... like SPOOKIE was!

And Sheps nearly got killed in the hospital! Those crazy people! Well if you AIN'T sick when you go in, you will be when you get out!

Our SIL from Orlando is coming in today! We might all go up to play in Central City, if the weather is okay.... He will be driving a rental car, so I'll get to enjoy the scenery... And we'll have a great lunch in one of the casino's....

Shep - So glad you're home in your own comfy bed with your fur-faces to make you smile. So very glad that your vision is better than expected. Our prayers have been heard. Sorry the idiot residents didn't have any common sense, but thankfully the nurses did. Reminds me of when I had the bowel obstruction and the resident told me it was my fault because I wasn't moving around enough. There was butt chewing by his boss (my doctor) for him too!

Lita - Prayers your way! Intractable pain is so frustrating.

Chevy - Hope you have an enjoyable time & great lunch with your SIL.

Lookie - I am glad you are home and healing too. Don't try to over-do too soon. It's not worth it in the long run.

Smaarty - Have a great time at the Seattle sewing expo. Thanks for the explanation of the curved piecing.

Susan - Hoping you get to feeling better soon. More Baily pics please.

Today is a friend's birthday, so I am making chicken enchilada's with Tex-Mex rice and a cake of course. It is fun for me to be able to cook for others on special occasions. Also, went to chiropractor yesterday and he adjusted my pelvis which gave me major relief from the pain in my right S.I. joint & hip. So very grateful.

Hello to everyone else and Happy Wacky Wednesday to all!

Shep, your treatment at the hospital was inexcusable. I was asked before surgery on paperwork what I was allergic to and reactions to anesthetics that I may have had in the past. I was also asked by a nurse and two doctors before surgery the same questions. I sorry you had to go through that, you certainly didn't need that extra stress. On the other hand I am glad Marti had a playmate when you came home.

Smarty this was the last surgery. I was pretty sore yesterday, but today I am up and about today doing a few things and my daughter is coming for supper. We are going to make pizza and apple crisp.

I have a new grand daughter. My daughter adopted a senior dog 10 days ago. She is sweet and lovable, good with other dogs and children. Here is her happy face.image

We ❤️ you too, Shep! What a horrible experience! I was thinking about you over the weekend and was hoping that you got good care. The thought of drowning in my own vomit would put me in a panic mode. Darn!!! If anything were to go wrong, it would be the weekends or after hours. Such luck. I was afraid of that. Some residents have big heads. We can only hope that the resident will be humbled by his/her superior. On the bright side, it is good to hear that you have supportive care from both the medical people and DS at home. Always a plus when strangers who come to your home love pets also. Must be a joy to see Marti with DS. I can deal with compromised hearing, but I don't think I can deal with bad vision. May your 👀 comes back quickly and may you have the patience in the mean time.

Forward, what a sweet face!!! How old is she? Bless DD's heart for adopting a senior dog.

So, did you get a tummy tuck with this surgery also? Yay for being done with recon.

Mommy, that was meant to wake up Shepk, but I thought I better be nice.

You see Ms S, to call Ms. Chevy out all you need to do is post half naked doctor(s). Yes, we should do lunch.

I had a feeling MamaJ that you have not fully covered. Either that was some potent bug or your immune system is not up to par. Hope you had a good outing with your family.

Ms. Spookie, I am not sure if I want to go to that restaurant.

JunieB, hope your pain has calmed down. Bad weather affects my right SI joint also. Couldn't play badminton for three weeks. I think the Hyalluronic acid was helping the osteoarthritis . Had to stop it a few days ago. Not sure if it is the cause of this stubborn dull headache I have had since starting h acid. Could be sympathetic headache for our friend? Never mind the nausea I had on Friday or Saturday evening.

Lita, I hope your pain is better managed today and that you are able to rest.

WildT, busy girl, don't worry we totally understand. You need a helper:

Jazzy, I heard from Patty last week. Not doing well :(

Susan, I took your recommendation about not getting the flu. Got a head cold instead. Ha! Hope you are on the road to recovery.

Lover, the H acid stuff seems to be working on my dry skin. No headache, thank goodness.

PattyPeppermint hasn't been on the boards since mid January.

Thank you for the update...this is very troubling. She has been having a miserable time for the last several months as well as being in and out of hospital a few times.

We pray that she will soon rally. This has got to be so devastatingly difficult for her family and friends.

    Loving thoughts going out.

No tummy tuck for me, just fat grafting for reconstructed breast,

They think Sasha may be around eight. She likes men, she would be perfect for my DH. Our dogs always followed me around, it's his turn

I've had 24 hours of near hell. Fought all last night and this morning with what felt like acid reflux (though I take 40 mg Prilosec daily), could barely move and kept fighting the urge to puke - I never do, last time was more than 2 years ago, well after last chemo, and out of the blue. This time, I've been fighting chest congestion since the weekend, finally broke down and took mucinex but my temp was all over the place. Hung around 99ª or so most of the time, then I could feel it spike, got as high as 101.4º. I know I'm supposed to call 911 if it hits 100.5, and doc wrote that real big on my instructions, but damned if I was going to go through another ER visit and them trying to access my port and all that nonsense. So I waited a bit and sure enough it was down around 99 again and hasn't risen significantly since.

Around 2 this afternoon, it all broke loose. It was all liquid, yellow, putrid. But after I felt a bit better and got up and went to the bathroom, was pretty steady. But still queasy and refluxy so I couldn't rest. Tonight I lost a bunch more, felt better after but still have that acid reflux feeling. Almost like a burp caught at the top of the esophagus. I can honestly say I've never had an episode like this.

I did have a text chat with my PCP friend Charlotte and she thinks it could just be a tummy bug. She agreed about the ER avoidance. I know if it were serious she'd drive me there herself.

So, how was your day? Sometimes when I post stuff like this I feel so selfish. This has to be one of the most supportive groups of women ever, and all I seem to do is bitch moan and complain. On the other hand, I think one of you asked how I was doing...

Mags, thanks for the update. We hadn't heard from you in days. I was worried about you and said a prayer 24 hrs ago. You got thru it without the ER...so prayer helps.

Don't ever feel selfish about sharing the bad days. That's what we're here for, to carry some of the load and be there to help you get thru it. And we celebrate and cheer when you DO get thru it.

That sure was scary for you, though. Hope that nasty reflex gets better.

Yes, shoulder is still very touchy and still can't lift arm. It will take time. MR CANCER is getting jealous because I'm not paying nearly as much attention to him now that suave, charming Mr Rotator Cuff has joined the party. MR CANCER doesn't want me to start going steady with anyone else.

    Mags Heart

I hope you are feeling very much better today.

Lookforward congratulations on your new granddaughter, and the new granddog too. What a lucky, lucky dog to get adopted as a senior. What a kind person your DD must be.

Lover thank you for the update on Patty. Could guess from her absence that she is having a difficult time. I so hope she is receiving better pain relief than she had been getting.

Thanks for the boost ladies. I think I'm a bit better but not out of the woods yet. I can't seem to get to sleep, still fighting some chest congestion, some reflux, so not feeling great. Cousin was out when I got hungry so I got up and made a grilled cheese sandwich (the way I like it) and sliced some tomato on the top and ate most of it (I ate all the tomato, Rose finished off the sandwich). The crust was really rough on the inside of my mouth, which is really sensitive these days. Took a kinda sorta nap (shallow sleep) and had a bite of a rice/broccoli/chicken casserole - but still feeling the reflux. Sitting up in the den with DH watching (what else?) Family Feud. Hoping for sleep tonight. Thanks for the prayers more than you know
