shep - That getting cancer tee is great. Son and I were walking by a big warning may cause cancer sign one day and looked at each other. I said too late and we laughed so hard. What else can you do? No artistic talent huh - what about crafts, painting rocks, making jewelry?
wren - Havnt heard about the abandonded books, going to check that out. I love the little library concept, so so cute. Our cancer center has a bookshelf in the big waiting area for booksharing that we use a lot, great concept.
lita - Very glad your progression news was better that you thought. And hoping for better car days ahead. Your positive vibes are contagious.
smaarty - So much quilting and garment sewing getting done. Boobs were slowing down your sewing I guess! How are you feeling and healing?
kathdc - OK I hate the smell of smoke but I hear ya on the over doing of the air freshener, gag. Some of it especially in the bathroom (mixed with other smells) is awful. In the car, head out the window like a puppy!
loverly - A Baltic cruise! I hope your dads nerve pain management is going well. It sounds like hes just dealt with it for a long time and not complained so you didnt know. So hard to see our loved ones in pain but thankful you can be there for him.
junie - Kirby will be adorable and well trained, such a combo!
Surgeon follow up went well. My pathology came back all clear, very relieved. But I needed to have a little cauterization and a no lifting reminder. Going through a busy family time so not a convenient no lifting time but will have to do my best. Still crazy weather here, Susan give us back the 70 degree weather please. Good wishes to all I've missed.

Mom! ;You caved! I LOVE those guys! I have those 2 huge vases up-stairs, empty.... just waiting until I get another one. If you tape a little mirror to the glass, he will "show-off"! We kept him on our dining room table, so there was a window to keep him company....
You can buy live brine shrimp at the fish place, and they just LOVE that! You have to keep them in the fridge, and scoop them out with a little shrimp net.... I know..... I spoiled them.....0 -
I had a 30 gal tank up north. Bought freeze dried shrimp for the fish. They snarfedit all.

Yep, I got a Veiltail Betta. Wisconsin is enjoying his new friends. He's taken to swimming around with my neons. While I was hanging up the laundry on the clothes racks, I watched them dive bomb my Plecostomus.

Lita - Thanks for the info on the T-shirts.
Smaarty - You sure get a lot done very quickly. You are brave doing curved blocks like that. Because of the bias edge of the fabric I'd end up with puckers or it not fitting just right. Several years ago I tried a quilt pattern that had many many half square triangles and I could not get them to line up properly, despite measuring/cutting very carefully. Got so frustrated that the quilt block are still sitting in my closet. Such a waste of of good fabric.
Poppy - I am having the worst time sleeping, I keep seeing Kirby looking back at me in confusion as his trainer carried him to her vehicle. I know I'm probably being overly sensitive, but I worry that the bond Kirby & I were building will somehow be damaged even though I know the training is in his best interest. I called today to set up a visit when she comes into town again. I feel so lost with him gone.

Junie, try not to worry about that bond. We have had rescue dogs, (one older one), and the bonds re-form very quickly with dogs.
They are just glad to have the human warmth and company. Kirby won't forget you, and you are so sweet to think about him and worry as much as you do.
We worry about our Sofia.....anyone with treats and a nice snoozy pad could easily win her heart away from us, ha ha.

A brag on my DD. Had a gig Sat nite at a local concert venue with the Piano Guys. They are good, check them out on YouTube. She is in white socks, dark kilt.

Your Wisconsin looks very happy Mom! I'm glad they all get along.... I've had SOME that were little tail-nippers.... Do you feed them frozen brine shrimp? I tried to keep them "full" so they wouldn't be aggressive.... Hah!

That pre-surgery nesting..Oh how I wish you were having kitties instead. How is your vision? My thoughts are with you.I got some good news today..my DS does not need to have his tonsils taken out. We saw a different ENT as follow up to sleep study, which was perfectly normal, and the ENT said unless he begins to have sleep issues or infections, there is no reason to take them out. DS does, however, need to have wisdom teeth removed, but planning to wait till summer.
We have had a stretch of days in 50's-60's since last Friday, but it is predicted that we will get a foot or so of snow this Friday.

I missed all the fish chats? We had a fish once that get so excited to see us in the morning. Acquired this fish from our neighbors who had to move because they had to short-sale their home. He was the cutest little guy. Very sociable. I had to find another home for him not very long after we got him because he was so lonely by himself. Plus, I was afraid I would kill him.
Kathy, dealing with car accident/theft and the insurance company is so stressful. I am sorry you have an invisible target on your car. Bummer! And DH still gives you a hard time when you are on here? Sigh. Mine is more understanding now after I explained to him how important it is more me to be connected with you ladies on here. I try to be sensitive to him when he needs my attention. Such a BIG baby.

Ms. Wren and Feline, thank you for the suggestion. Anne Frank house is definitely on our list. My DD met a young lady from Sweden, who lived in Hague a western coast city in the Netherlands for a semester, agrees that we should see the AF house, but does not recommend waiting in line to see the inside....very long line to get in. Plus, they removed the original furniture.

I having surgery on Monday and hopefully I will be able to go on a holiday in a couple of weeks, I would like to fly to Vancouver and take the Amtrak to Portland or to California, fingers crossed it stops raining (Specially for you west coast girls). Junie what is the best time of the year to go to Oregon?
