Oh Loverly
Mitzi is a beautiful dog. Hmmmm, I bet she's not spoiled😁😁😁. I have a crazy, fun, and bipolar cat that could keep Mitzi good company. Just a little on the wild side, but friendly. I could arrange, well to send her to your family on the west coast. Haha. Dear daughter would never forgive me. I love Nicole(cat), however she is what these generation of kids call "extra" I can barely sit, or lie down, and she's all up on me. A little much.
Oh, since I mentioned animals, do any of you have a cat, or dog, well, or any other that actually CHEWS your hair. This is the only cat I've ever had that does this. Is it normal? Eww0 -
Junie
Hi, been thinking of you. How are you feeling? Are you having any relief from your back? I saw you were going to post a few days ago, then it was deleted. Please touch base.0 -
Can anybody give any latest updates on Mags, and Patty? Wondering how they are?🙏🙏🙏0

Jayme it was indeed me who said the kids were throwing desks with the poor sub. This week they are taking the keys out of the keyboards of the chrome books. I took 8 down for repair that had it done to them today. NOT IN MY CLASS by the way. That would not happen in my room. The teacher doesn’t have the kids assigned to a specific number so there is no way of telling who did it. But they will not have them to use at all if they keep that up. Poor tech crew is gonna flip out

Jaymeb, the girl that ended up with alcohol poisoning was at a party one of my girls was at. Luckily, a call was made quickly and she was ok. Some of the kids made a stop at a liquor store and got someone to buy beer for them. There was a store in the suburbs that was notorious for selling to underage kids. The county tries to catch them. A few years back, the county hired some underage kids, sent them in wired to try and buy beer and catch the stores that way. Don’t know if they are still doing it. I have three children. DS is 43 and has lived in Japan since 1999. Met his wife there and they have a boy and a girl. DDs are 37 and live here in the city. One got married about 1 1/2 years ago. As adults we have taken them out for dinner for their birthday but this year they wanted a home cooked meal. I got a chuckle because ever since they could tell me what they wanted for their birthday cake they’ve always wanted different ones. They did it again! Brought back memories from when they were little.
First eye will be done on the 26th. Second eye has been scheduled for a month later but I’m thinking of rescheduling it as DS and family will come in the weekend after. I think the eye drops schedule will be hard to maintain while they are here for two weeks. Plus, the first week they are here I’ll still be using an anti-flammatory drop in the first eye. At that point I won’t panic if I miss a drop or two since it would be the last week for treating that eye.
Patty has been quite on her page. One of her sisters came to be with her the other day. She was waiting on a biopsy report but has not posted since hearing results.Another sister is due to arrive.

Jaymeb - Thanks for asking. My back is still the same. Since the bus accident I've been having more nerve pain down the front of my right leg. I see the neurosurgeon next Tuesday. Finally! However, if I end up having surgery, I'll have to stop the Ibrance for 3 weeks before & 3 weeks after.
I met with an Attorney yesterday regarding the bus accident. Apparently there is a Law that covers individuals who have medical issues like I do. It is called something like the "Egg Shell Law"? Anyway the man who caused all this chaos is still in jail and the DA's office has called me several times to inform me of any scheduled court appearances of the defendent. Unfortunately, since the man is a transient and has ZERO money or insurance, a claim may be made to the insurance company of the Bus Company. It all seems so complicated.
My poor sweet Kirby had a major freak out on the bus this evening. A man carrying a skateboard got on and it really freaked Kirby out and he barked & barked. I was afraid we'd get kicked off. Fortunately we were only a half mile from home if that had happen, but it didn't. Then as we walked up the driveway another man on a bicycle rode by and Kirby acted terrified, pulling on his leash trying to get away. I do not know what caused this reaction. He has seen both before.
kathindc - So your first eye is healing well? I'll bet you're really looking forward to seeing your girls. I hope you have a great time.
Loverly - How are you doing? I really enjoyed seeing the pic of Mitzy. She's looking very pretty. How is your Dad doing?
I am listening to a news report right now on T.V. about how United Airlines mistakenly sent a woman's' German Shepard to Japan rather than to Portland. Instead a Great Dane that was supposed to fly to Japan ended up here in Portland. Apparently United Airlines has a very poor record in transporting passengers pets. Very disconcerting!
Blue - How are you doing?
Waving to everyone!
Ok, I will say goodnight and wish you all a good sleep tonight!

Junie, eye surgery is in a week and a half, ugh. Had the pre-surgery check up yesterday. One DD lives a mile from us and the other lives in the downtown area, about a 20 minute drive due to lights and traffic. They use our address for package delivery since one works for a credit union and they aren't allowed packages delivered to their work site due to security reasons and her rental office only holds packages for a short period of time and she doesn't get home from work until after they close and the other daughter uses it for large items that she can't get home on our subway system. Definitely looking forward to seeing the grandchildren when they come at the end of April and their mom that I haven't seen for eight years. Toko and I get along so well. I knew the minute I met her that she was the one for my son.

Home from my 1st Faslodex injection, labs and hydration. Tomorrow is an ultrasound of liver and the mass on my left carotid artery / vocal chord nerve. Saying that, you can see the appt w the oncologist on Tuesday was very positive. I got everything I thought I needed and he believes it is definitely worth the try. He said, "This is your time now." That is good bedside manner speak for you may end up in hospice but we're still kicking the boulder down the road. I don't mind. He is a gem of a doctor. And he given hugs and remembers names. He is maybe 40 yrs old if that.
The new oncologist team takes over April 1st, finally. Under Dr. B's lead, he is a research and trials for cancer in Fort Wayne.
Worn out, cannot stay, already was in one thread and have some to go for reading. But I did read everything here.
Mitzy is so sleek and healthy.
Junie - on Dog Whisperer, he desensitizes dogs to their fears. I love that show, was how I trained Danny Boy after we rescued him. Wish I had known about his program before we got Brigadoon, but then we might not have Danny Boy. Big B was not neurotic, he was psychotic and dangerous due to his many fears.
Hate to, but have to go.
Diane

Hi Loverly, Junie, Kathindc, Sas, Patty, Renee, Shepkitty,Blue,Wrenn, and Mags😘😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏
I think I got everyone. I did lurk on Patti's posts. Wow, she is so loved, and has such a great support system. What a positive and sweet lady. As bad as she feels, she reads all posts, and still manages to respond. Her boys is who I worry about, I hope they have a support system. Do they get along with their father? Lord, I hope so. I didn't understand all of her recent diagnosis, but it sounds like she has some options. Apparently, if I read right, she has her2 positive which gives her more treatment options. However, there was some worry about her blood and platelets. I really don't know some of this medical jargon. Sas, are you reading on her forum? I know you'll understand all of this. When you can, will you explain it to me?
Also, ladies, what is going on with Mags? She's supposed to move in her new beautiful home the 28th of this month, I think. I hope her plans work out for her. I watched her video of the house again. Lol.

Okay ladies, I'm going to talk about animals. Yes, I know we have a cat thread, and a dog thread.
Although we love all animals, my daughter and I have two cats, Nicole and Mary. Nicole is very friendly, and wide open. Mary is obese, and weighs 24 pounds. Yep, don't know how to get her weight down. She is the sweetest cat, so mellow. She sleeps with Reece, and Nicole sleeps with me. I just want her to stop chewing my hair like it's grass, or hay.
When I was diagnosed with BC a year ago, Nicole constantly wanted to be around me. Everywhere. Tripped over her a few times. After I had my mascectomy, she would lay on my tummy, and put her paw on my chest. She was stuck on me like glue during radiation. After the reconstruction, she's putting her paws on my chest.
Have any of you had your furry friends know something was going on? How did they react to you? I've read several stories from women who swear their beloved cat, or dog found their cancer. I know certain dogs can sniff cancer, not sure about cats, even with their strong noses, and great hearing. I think cats are intuitive, and just know. Same way with dogs.
Did any of you all have pets that constantly showed you love, and wanted to be near you a lot? I would love to hear some stories from your beloved pets when you were going through your journey fighting cancer, also, women who are still getting treatment. How much love are they showing you, and in what ways. Thanks0 -
Doing okay but tending to my furbaby Princess who has a cold.

Jay, there has been research over the years on cats and dx'ing BC. On STFU I did a survey and somewhere around 7 were alerted to their BC by their cat. Dogs were in the mix. There is a researcher in England working on it for years. Google Breast cancer and animals identifying cancer. Maybe "English researcher and animal identification of breast cancer.
Many have identified as you have their furbabies our very attentive to their illnesses. Dogs are being trained to identifiy many forms of cancer. Melanoma and prostate are two that come to mind. There may be more now, I haven't looked at it in several years.
My last question to Patty waas for a clarification Re: the new hormone status, plus a few other things. I just found out last week that the reason Patty and ExAH. Split up b/c he had an affair. Analpore.
Queenie, I woke up today and the E button is gone. That makes E,A, and B gone. I know I need a new unit, but stilllllllllll doing that stupid bathroom. Plus, twin has an HP. I have delusions I may be able to help her and thinking having the same unit may be useful. HOW is your class going?
Blue, sorry all is such a mess. Eating is one of our greatest joys. My go to drug is pepcid complete. I prefer it b/c the H2 blocker works rapidly and the calcium is a two for one drug. I don't take it often, so the Ca++ isn't enough to cause constipation. The twofer part. Quells the acid and I'm taking Fosamax.
Waving to all Hope we all have a great weekend

My late kitty Charcoal (my avatar pic) and my Sheltie, Jackson stayed very close to me when I was going through chemo. They were my comforters when hubby was at work, especially when I would go throughout crying jags. Now my precious kitty, Princess, joins her brother Jackson in being my comfort when I am in need of it.

Welll, not getting much more recent stuff, but I may not be asking google the right question either. I'm going back to STFU and find what we worked on then.

Did a Psych. paper in college on how animals are good for both physical and mental health.
It’s my pleasure to keep W&F’s going. I always get funny stuff sent to me.

This was the survey I wrote on STFU. Still looking for the results I tabulated.
The folowing survey is to identify those members that have had an experience with animals/pets that had behavioral activities, that led the member to associate the behavior with their cancer.
Was this animal yours? If None mark x and stop here: X No Yes
Whose animal was it?
What type of animal was it? Cat: Dog:
Breed and age:
Does the animal have any special training: No Yes
Specify training:
Did you seek medical advice because of pet behavior? No Yes
How long before diagnosis did pet demonstrate behavior?
Identify stage of BC and mets at diagnosis?
Stage:
Mets:
Describe in detail activity that pet exhibited?

If I were to do the survey now I would do it way differently.
I found a notation that 5 out of approximately 20 had either their cat or dog find their cancer. The total taking the survey isn't exact, but I counted the positives and 5 was right.

Jaymed - Danny Boy became very concerned about my voice. It was a squeak for a long time. He would leave the room if I tried to speak loudly. He watches me closely when I vomit, he knows I don't feel good. He stays by my bed all night and in the am moves to the hall corner outside my room until he is told he can go back in. He can smell the difference of me hen I have the Faslodex injections too. I used him in pet friendly stores to help center me, he would be a good service dog but never went to that length. When he as trained for 4H by former owners he was trained to assist with getting up if fallen, to go down w the person when they fall and stay there until told what to do.
We adopted him in June 2011. I found the cancer mass in my breast two weeks later after swimming in the pool, during my shower. Due to short term memory loss issues back then from hypothyroid, I know I had found the same mass in March and May during my own exam, but I forgot about it.
Danny Boy had heartworms when we adopted him. So we went through the alternative treatments together at first. His heartworms were cleared by autumn, no poison from the vet. My mass went up and down and up and down and finally I had a lumpectomy. I know he did not like that I was hurt, he would gently nuzzle me and never asked for anything while I was recuperating.

M0mmy - BEST Irish Blessing ever! 🍀 Your Warm and Fuzzies are sooo good. I can't tell you how many times I've laughed out loud while reading 'em in a doc's waiting room or in the infusion suite - even worse, I snort if I laugh really hard!
How is the Royal Princess doing? Kitties can get upper respiratory infections so easy......always worries me to hear a kitty sneeze. Hope she is feeling better 😿
Miss Blue - Oh the difference a knowledgeable and truly caring doc can make! Hoping the rest of your new team will be just as wonderful. This has been a hella crazy trip for so many of us. Gentle ((( hugs ))) and healing thoughts to you, Dear Protectress of the Field Mice 🐁
Mags - Hoping you are settled into your new Estate (love it, love it!) and are able to rest, relax and recharge. May you soak up the "clean" energy of your new home and become strengthened by it.
So many times, when I am so sick of being sick, I think of you. You persevered, challenged the beast and won! I am certain I am not the only one inspired by by your strength and your faith. The beast may have crept back in, but he must have forgotten who he is dealing with - The Mags of the Insomniacs Sisterhood! Prayers for your peace, comfort and the wisdom of your docs. 🙏

I am shouting this to the heavens for all of us..................
"Yoo Hoo!!! Universe!!! Could you please put in an urgent request to whomever is in charge of chitty stuff? Some of us are in desperate need of lots and lots of goodie stuff!!!!! And cake. Lots of cake with buttercream frosting layered on three inches high on the top and between the layers. White or yellow cake - don't want to be too fussy. Please - no more buggers, no more sick uckies and lots of cake. With lots of buttercream frosting. Thank you"

Loverly - Oh the pretty Mitzy! She looks like one of the gods worshiped by the Egyptians - Anubis. Anubis was the protector of the Mummies. Mitzi is your protector! 'Cuz you are a Mummy!
Sassy - I pictured Schatzi as looking much different. She looks like an Irish Wolfhound! A mini one I hope! 😱
Junie - Miss Pris and I greatly enjoyed your card, thank you! Ack, that bus wreck.....you DID NOT need or deserve that! Poor Kirby. All you can do is treat him as you always have. Stick to routines, don't baby him too much (hard I know) and he'll slowly return to his usual happy-go-lucky self. Poor lil' fella. How sore are you? Don't you dare go putting shingles on the roof or chopping down any trees. Rest, rest, rest!
JayNC - Learning everything you can about cancer is a must. Good for you, being inquisitive! Understanding the disease takes away some of fear and enables you to be an active part of your treatment. A word of warning though........be careful where you get your info from. The Mayo Clinic, Sloan Kettering, Dana Farber, MD Anderson and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) websites are excellent and trustworthy. BUT......only research what is pertinent to your DX. Otherwise you'll scare the bejeebers out of yourself and cause unnecessary worry. Focus on where you are now, and where you want to be - NOT what might never be.
I started out stage iv from the git go. The worries us later stage peeps are pretty bad and very real. If I dwelled on all the what ifs, I'd e totally bonkers. (Hush Loverly and Junie! I am not already bonkers!) I'm very educated about my DX and very aware of things to watch for; watch for, not worry for. My way of dealing is keeping a "fix-it" list. If I hit another "bump" in my travels, I add it to the list. If it is fixable, I fight like a tiger to get it done. Luckily, my Oncology team works with each other and includes me. I don't usually have to fight that often. 🙂
My med history is condensed in my signature - otherwise it would be soo long it would look like bragging, ha! Plus Sassy's got me beat anyway! I have had some scary chit but I'm still here. It's been just over 5 years since my DX......not so long ago the treatments weren't available to keep someone like me alive. New advances are being made all the time.
Be aware, alert and even afraid now and then. But remember, time and science are on your side. Just like all of us here are! And your kitties too! (My kitty bites me) High-five and a fist bump to you Carolina Sister! 🖐️🤛🌴
Yikes.....as usual I have lost track of time. Need to go to bed. We are sitting for our grand-doggy Rex. He is a Boston Terrier and about 5 years old. Ellie Mae is becoming a behemoth and is bigger and heavier than her uncle now. She's only 4 months and weighs 35 lbs. I don't have to bend to pet her and she can reach the counters! Ellie is being a wild thing and keeps beating up Rex. She even body slammed my wee Miss Pris. It''s a madhouse! Must sleep while I can...........
Kath - I'm a novelist now too!
Good night to all - Wanted to catch up with everyone, sorry to those I missed
Good Morning Feline ~ Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day ~ Erin go Braugh!
Good Ellie........
Crazy Ellie!

Also Medicare wellness and oncologist as well. Long day. I just don’t have any energy to spare for writing - but I promise to catch y’all up as soon as possible. Love to all. Hootie hoo!

I was sleeping so good. Then the lightening. Then the thunder. And the thunder. And the rain. It sounds like sleet and rain. And the thunder... I thought something had hit the house, like a tree or something, it made the house shake. So now I’m awake. I was sleeping sooooo good. Sigh. Snow dammit. That doesn’t make noise! But no, rain and sleet and mail and lightening and thunder. It’s like a disco. Come on cold front, dip on down and get here!
