Thanks, Monica!  It's a weight off my mind.  Hers too.  Now just have to get her moved LOL.  3TTCx3!

Sheila, haven't heard from u so guessing we're not on for today?  It is pretty freakin' cold out there LOL.

Going to make a cherry crisp with tart cherries off my friend's tree.  It's gluten-free but not low-carb, as the topping is butter, brown sugar, pecans and oats.  Yummy!

Anyone get snow last night?  We did not.  Happy Sunday ladies!  ♥ to all

I didnt tell you all that Last weekend was our 40th anniversary. My DH actually planned out the evening. He knows I love lobster, so he called around the big name restaurants yo see who would have it on the menu. He told me on Saturday that we would be going to Bacchus. Wow. I had to scramble to find an appropiate dress for that. I thought id wear a dress I picked up for my daughters rehersal dinner. I took the bag out of the closet and it wasnt that dress. It was one I picked up last summer cause it was such a great deal. So I wore that. Got dressed and we had a wonderful dinner. I of course had the most expensive item- the lobster. LOL Before we left I asked my DH if he knew just how expensive it was going to be. He said yes. So I ordered what I wanted. He had me translate the menu so watching Food network came in handy to explain things like mousseline and raspberry gastrique! LOL. He had also sent me 40 red roses on Friday. I am thrilled. The only dissappointing thing was that I didnt have anyone take our pictures when we were both dressed up! LOL. Just to prove we clean up pretty good. Fun night.

This week he didnt even make it home but I cut him some slack.... LOL.

I needed another mag infusion this Thursday. Saw my onc too. He said I should keep on the Slomag which I love. Even though its not keeping up my mag level, I dont have the big D! Much. Only 3 times in 4 weeks instead of more than 10. That is such an improvement I dont want to go back. Keeping fingers my kidney works a bit harder. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Watching the Packers right now. Fingers crossed. Also 3TTC X 3.

    Much love.

    Hi Ladies,

I'm also from Wisconsin and came across this post. I can't believe I haven't come across it in the past. Back in 2011 when going through all my treatment, I was on these boards a lot, but never saw. I live outside of Madison, married with 8 year old twins. Dx in July of 2011 at age 42. Can't believe its been over 2 years. Doing well for the most part. Tamoxifen not the greatest, but manageable. I haven't been able to lose the 10 pounds I gained while going through chemo, but keep trying. My biggest issue now is my reconstruction. Originally had double mx done at UW. In spring 2013 did a revision at Froedtart. Pretty happy w/results, but still have some symmetry issues that need to be worked out. Have appt with Froedtart to discuss. Original UW surgeon states can also fix. Just curious for any of you in the Milw or Madison area how your experience was with your reconstruction?

Vlnrph- the conference you mention at Monona Terrace sounds really interesting. I'm going to look up.

Hi ladies! Sorry I didn't get back to you, Badger. I was home from work week before last with bronchitis and a sinus infection. I went back this week, but was in bed by about 8:30 every night. Thank God I got a pneumonia vaccine back in May!! Hope you all stay away from this bug!

Welcome ccjj! I go to UW as well, but had a lumpectomy. I was diagnosed a year ago on Nov. 6th (ten days before my 50th birthday) and had my surgery the 29th. This past year has been crazy and I'm really looking forward to putting my first "cancerversary" behind me.

Moonflower, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! WOW, what a special guy you're married to! Congratulations on 40 years and best wishes for many, many more! 💗Sheila

    Hello fellow Wisconsin Ladies!

I was diagnosed in the last month, on my 45th birthday actually, and has lumpoctomy last week, starting AC/T next Week. I am wondering if there are any local central Wisconsin Ladies on the board? Any and all support/ communication local or not would be so appreciated! We are close to Wausau......

Looking forward to talking to ya!

Welcome Pam! I'm a little south of you, between Portage and Baraboo. Sorry you have to be here, but you'll find lots of support on this board and several other boards - I encourage you to look for a board of those starting chemo in Nov. I was diagnosed this past May (at 51), had mastectomy June 5th, went through chemo (DD AC/T) which I just finished Oct. 25th (yippee!), and I'm waiting to find out when I start rads. It's so nice to be able to talk to women going through some of the same experiences! Stay strong & kick some cancer butt! Lana

Welcome Pam! I agree with Lana. Its nice to be with people going through the same thing at tbe same time. Also check out the board for AC/T. Thats where you will find help by people who have finished the tx and gotten to the other side! Also pretty important.

I know a lot on this board either live in Madison or are close enough to work there. I am near Lake Michigan. My DH family has a tree farm just off HWy 51. Oops. Its now Hwy 39! LOL.. south of Point.

I jope you get the support you will need. Just ask. If we cant help we can usually point in the right direction!

    Lana! Congrats on finishing! Yay!!!!!!

    Much love.

Love the anniversary story & picture! Went to both Monona Terrace seminars - annual Carbone Cancer meeting and the national BC/Environment update so I got two canvas tote bags...

Wish there were the amount and quality of research going on in lymphedema as there is with toxins like BPA, etc. Those presentations were quite detailed and scientific but very interesting.

On another note, my mom was just diagnosed with ductal carcinoma (since I became her "family history" almost three years ago, there has been an area being watched. She finally got a biopsy). Also, my insurance decided to pay for the MRI that should have been done in late September. I go in for that this week.

vl, happy to hear you get to have the MRI. But sorry about your Mom. But at least she has you.

My 2 year canceversary was 11-11. Yep my biopsy was 11-11-11. LOL. Still have at least one more sx for my exchange to squishies. Scheduled for 12-18-13. Gonna be infection free! 3TTC X 3.

I volunteered for my neighborhood progressive dinner last summer. I had to beg off twice. Once Was for my pacemaker placement. The next year was because of my BMX. I didn't do it last year because of my chemo effects. So I thought I'd be good to go. But now my exchange is the 18th. The dinner is the 28th. I have the main course. I kinda want to keep it. I kinda want to say too much. But that's cause I haven't hosted ANY THING in 3 years. I think I'm just scared. I can get roast beef in gravy and turkey or ham as well. Veggies are easy. Not looking to do too much. I could also do chili or tacos. Easy. So i guess I should get on it. It's the getting ready that has me spooked. I'll have to do a deep cleaning and de clutter. Both if which are overdue so a plus for doing this. Also a minus for the same reason! LOL. The other thing is all of the other people who are hosting have had the houses redone. They are younger and changed the houses when they moved in. Our house is stuck in the 70s. The only update were the rugs and flooring. (Changed out the rust rug and the avocado green kitchen floor! LOL) Oh well. I need to suck it up! Not to mention clean up. LOL

    Much love.

How's everybody doing? Badger hope things are ok with you and your Mom..

VL, did you get results yet? Here's hoping good news.

I am getting nervous about my exchange surgery. 3TTC, right? Right. Keeping that in mind! LOL

    Much love to all.

Hi "Moon-ica", congrats on the 2 years out! For sure do the easiest dinner you can (for Thanksgiving, I will order food from the grocery store deli department & take it all to heat up at my sister's so she is the one who has to clean...) Maybe you should have kept the rust/avocado color scheme. It's probably due to come back in style pretty soon.

MRI delayed another week: if anyone gets a negative decision from their insurance company, don't give up. Victory is possible.

What a lousy weather weekend! I thought yesterday was ugly but today was worse. It would not have been fun to be at Camp Randall yesterday, at least it wasn't cold.

Monica, I hope your exchange surgery goes well. I'll be sending healing thoughts your way.

VL, good luck with your MRI. I'm glad you prevailed.

I have lab work and mammo 11/25. Keep your fingers crossed. It will be my 4th since dx. I always have some anxiety in the weeks/days leading up to the mammo so I'm trying to be calm and stay positive.

Whoooo whooooo BADGER!!! YEAH! 4000 miles! That's a lot and 5000 deserves a big prize. Start thinking about what you will do to celebrate when you hit that goal. That's amazing.

Frost was on the pumpkin this morning for sure. At least the sun was shining...

MRI results should come in early this week. "Scan-xiety" is an apt description of what many of us experience (hi Gina)

Badger's aim is a different kind of 5K=5000 MILES, not just a few little ol' kilometers! Winking

Counting down the days til Monica's final procedure. My mom has lumpectomy on the 11th.

hi all, hope everyone had a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.  I met up with some family at a restaurant and had a yummy traditional dinner.  Got to see my almost-four YO niece.  We were bald together - me from chemo and she from being newly born.  I like to keep tabs on her hair LOL.

Didn't watch the Packers game but heard they lost big.  Seems they're not much without Aaron Rodgers.

Took today off work and am being lazy.  Not going anywhere near a retail outlet.  Maybe grocery store later.

hi all, hope you're staying warm!  We've had rain and fog the last few days, makes for a miserable commute.  Now the deep-freeze is coming.  I signed up for a 5K Polar Walk/Run this wknd to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Yikes!  I may skip the walk (outside, in sub-zero wind chills) or walk inside later, and just donate the registration fee.   But I'll show up anyway, to get my tee-shirt LOL.

SophiaMarie, I'm in the SW part of the state so not tx at Froedert but I believe others have been.

Monica, my mom won't be moving here until Spring.  One more warm FL winter then BAM reality.

Two more weeks to go?  3TTCx3!  ♥ to all
