Well not truly a pistol range but there's over a hundred acres so there is an area set up for practice and sighting in the guns! LOL. Wish you could come too. But keep an open mind about next year.

OK Monica, we'll be the pistol packin' mamas! I've picked off pop cans from a fence post with a .22 rifle and that was a blast (so to speak).
Was at a family cook-out last night and brought a box of assorted Leine's - Summer Shandy, Honey Weiss, Berry Weiss, and Canoe Paddler (yummy!!!). There are a few left so I'll bring those, too. Don't buy a lot of groceries! We can shop for food in town or go out. As long as there's coffee for Sun morning, I'm good.
I still need the address so pls PM or e-mail me!

We should def do this again next year! We didn't do any shooting and not much drinking but had a lot of fun. Monica and her DH are great hosts! Supper Sat was grilled salmon (that he caught) and fresh zucchini (that she grew). Beautiful scenery with lots of trails we saw on foot and by golf cart. We skipped the campfire because I was tuckered out and turned in early. Got up early too, but M's DH is also an early riser so we took a brisk 4-mile walk before heading out to breakfast. Potato pancakes - yummy! Thanks Monica & DH for a realy nice time! ♥

It was fun! Glad to have you. Dang, where did the time go? We never got shooting! I completely forgot. So busy talking I forgot. D* mm chemo brain.... LOL
Next time you are all welcome.0 -
Your weekend sounds so fun!! DD had her tonsils and adenoids out on Friday and is slowly recovering but I would love to join next year's get together!
I'm feeling a little sad that summer is winding down. It's nothing new, with SAD-Autumn is always a mixed bag of emotions. I love the season changes, just not the lack of sunlight as the days get shorter. Plus my first cancerversary in November. I ordered some Zumba CD's to motivate me to get off my butt and start moving. I 'm looking forward to trying it!
Take care all. If anyone is in New Glarus let me know and we can meet up! Sheila💗0 -
Sheila, NG would be a fun place to meet. Does the Sugar River trail go through there?
Monica, how are you doing after Weds? Sending lots of positive energy your way.
((fuzzy)) miss you sis. ♥ to all

Ditto on Fuzz! Miss you.
Sheila, gotta look at a map! LOL
Badger, I am doing ok. Better than a year ago. Third times a charm. Repeat, repeat! LOL0 -
Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm.
Wish I had ruby slippers to click but that's for There's no place like home LOL.

Monica, time to update your signature & show us your new TE placement date!
Not sure how long it takes to "bounce back" after that procedure but, if you (or any other Milwaukee north siders) are free this Tuesday evening, I will be in Mequon performing as part of an all-Mozart orchestra concert. It begins at 7:30pm August 20th at Crossroads Presbyterian Church. No admission charge. Our dress rehearsal is the night before, if that's more convenient. Anyone who manages to pop in should flag me down at intermission/break. I'll be the short first violin player with glasses...

Oh, Dang! Id love to be there! Have too many Dr appts that day, though. PCP and PS. Probably take it all out of me for the day. Shoot! It's not far, and I love Mozart! Dang again. Sorry.

vlnrph, Well, that's bad timing for me, as I would have loved to see that concert. I love Mozart! My daughter played violin from ages 6-17 and we will be off taking her to college this week. She also played with MYSO for several years. Keep us posted when you play again.

Thanks Mary, I also love Mozart but that's too far for me during the week, have fun!
Monica, I baked a coffee cake today with the last of the wild blueberries you gave me.
Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm. ♥
BTW, if anyone needs something good to read, check out a book by Jonas Jonasson called, The 100-year-old man who climbed out the window and disappeared. :-)

Yes Badger, the Sugar River Trail goes through New Glarus. It's my favorite trail (I don't do biking on roads!) it's really pretty going from Monticello to Albany because it's by the river. I haven't been on my bike yet this year, though. I usually start in April and go until it's too cold. I'm still waiting for my motivation to come back, ha!

hi ladies, we finally got some rain. It was so dry the birds were taking dust baths in the driveway.
Sheila, my bike is in a sorry state of disrepair so I'd have to walk the trail but that would be nice. Maybe this fall when the leaves are changing?
Monica, still doing OK? Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm. Third time's the charm! ♥

Good morning fellow Badgers - cant sleep! Have any of you heard of the "Pink Partini" event at Tanger mall? Looks like fun! Proceeds benefit breast cancer research at UW Carbone Cancer Center. Has anyone ever been? Is anyone going? Lana

Lana that does sound fun!😊 And it's on a Friday!

Lana, never heard of it. But sounds like fun.
Badger, still hanging there. Drains still putting out too much to remove, But, feel great, just have to not do much to hope they stop producing fluid. However, he had to remove scar tissue, and in that mess two nodes had to come out. Fun. LOL. But, Third times a charm, repeat, repeat!0 -
Ok Ladies, has been a while since I have been on this site. So I hope this posts finds everyone having a great summer. I myself try to distance myself from all of this stuff until I have to think about it, and just try to have fun with my kids and hubby. However I do have some questions, and some that only some of you ladies in WI can answer.
1st of all I had my excisional biopsy, and central duct excision in March, everything was fine until about June when I started having really bad pains in that breast. Also the last month or so it has become really itchy. Is this normal, almost 6 months after surgery?
I was diagnosed with lcis, and a bunch of other stuff, so now I have to go to the high risk paths clinic every 6 months. I just went in for my annual mri, so this question is for those that go to UW. Do they normally call you with results, or wait until your apt with the Dr. to tell you how it was. (my apt had to be rescheduled, so I will not see the Dr until Sept 4th) I am assuming that no news is good news, and if they would have seen something suspicious they would have called, right?
Last question is I will be seeing Dr. Wisinski (sp?) I have not met her yet, and just wondering if any of you ladies have/had her and opinions? Thanks again in advance for just letting me pop in.
Beth

Beth, I am sure you are right, if there was something you would have heard already. But they do want the doc to tell you. I don't know anything about Dr. W. Sorry I can't help.
The weather around here is beautiful today. It was a beautiful breeze all day here.
I am feeling pretty good but I HATE the freaking drains! Ug!!!! Can't wait for Tuesday, I hope the fluid level drops fast. I'm still over 100 cc every day yet. And I haven't really done much. I mostly just sit around. But the scar is healing, I am just a bit sore where he took the nodes and scar tissue. I am off the narcotics for pain, so, progress. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, much love.0 -
hi all and welcome Beth. I didn't have anything done at UW so can't help there but maybe some of the others can. Good luck! Lana, I hadn't heard of that event, have fun if you go! Monica, that's a lot of cc's so they may not want to pull drains if you're still a Juicy Lucy LOL. They're a total PITA but necessary. Hope you get them out Tues! Beautiful day here too, a bit hot this afternoon but it cooled off nicely this evening. Take care ladies! ♥ to all

Hi Beth, I see Dr. Wilke (my BS) at UW. She is fantastic! They have always called me about the results, either way. I'm going to have my first mammogram (since surgery 9 months ago) on Sept 4th. Mammo is at 9:00, then an appt with a NP @9:45. If you're there around the same time we could meet if you want. Good luck, either way! If you don't hear anything tomorrow I'd call just for peace of mind. Sheila

Sheila, I do not See Dr. Wisinski until later in the afternoon. I called the clinic, and they just told me that the Dr. would go over my results at my apt. I was supposed to see the Dr the same day, but they had to change the apt. So I guess I just wait, and hopefully beings they didn't call it is all good. Question about Tamoxifen, have you had any of the se's from it. I know that is something they want me to start, (what bs suggested) but after a lot of research, I am not sure I am ready to go down that road. GL with your apt. Thanks, Beth

Sheila and Beth, good luck.
Yeah Badger, I have a lot of drainage, I don't think hell want to remove it yet tomorrow. D*mm! He also doesn't want to keep it in for fear of infection. I have actually not done a thing around the house, other than reheat food and go to the bathroom! I only took one shower upstairs, and that day my drains put out over 120. But just sitting around, its still over 80. Bet he want me to call on Thurs and if it drops, will have me come in on Fri. To pull it. Sucks! But I am so lazy! Read 12 books since I went in. LOL.. oh well, ill set what he says tomorrow.0 -
Beth, I take my Tamoxifen at night. It makes me too tired during the day. The first two weeks my fatigue was terrible. (I had just finished radiation, so I know that didn't help!) in fact, I've just recently stopped feeling like I need to nap during the day.(I'm 5+ months out from radiation.) in addition to that, hot flashes and charley horses at night. I'm 50, so they'll switch me to an AI med in another year or so. Those side effects suck, too. I think everyone is different, so I'd def. give it a chance if that's what they recommend. Good luck! I'll be in your pocket on the 4th!
Monica, I hope you get those drains out soon!!0 -
Well he took out one drain. However, he wants to talk to a breast surgeon and see if he needs to reposition the drain because he thinks its from the scar tissue and node removal he did during implant surgery. I am glad to know it was nothing to worry about, but it sucks its causing me issues. I have to cancel my Livestrong program I've been trying to do since Jan. The next class probably won't be until next Jan. I am so disappointed. Why can't I ever take the express train? Why is it always the scenic route? The a ctual area around the implant is fine, healing incision, fills going well. Ok, guess I am just going to sit still and follow the train tracks.... LOL
