What a small world! You are exactly 4 years behind me. I had a PBMX and diep 12/3/10 at freodtert.

Are you feeling ok? Can I do anything for you? (Do a Sendik's run?)

Zogo! You are so cute! I'm thrilled you are in the neighborhood! I'm doing well, but had complications after my first surgery (St. Mary's ozaukee) resulting In hyperbaric treatment and 2 more surgeries including a TE that I'm already filled to max (in 5 weeks...yes, yikes...but only 2 of the fills sent me over the edge..the 4th and last- which was 1 week ago) (sometimes I had 2 fills per week)(total of 650 cc's)...but it's coming along. I'm good for the most part, nights are the hardest. I get bad myofascial burning/pain around my shoulder blade/underarm...and some muscle spasms around the TE...though they seem to be slowly diminishing. I've been really ok with everything, but recently have been feeling like "will I ever be normal...& what does normal even mean anymore?" For the most part my life is as it was, save for a few things...but I'm hoping I'll get back to things I miss at some point (swimming @ JCC, biking on the trail, hiking at the Audubon...)

How are you 4 years post? Doing well? Feeling good?

And thank you for the sendiks offer! So WFB!

Nice to meet you, moonflwr912! I'm glad you're near- just feels good knowing support is so close! I tried sleeping with a pillow under my arm last night- woke up with the "zinging/zapping/burning "...& ended up stuffing a tennis ball under my shoulder blade (sounds odd, but the counter pressure feels good) and using ice. It was ok. I just ordered an infrared heating pad this morning, which my massage therapist suggested.

Then...fully waking today, I was on my TE side almost 3/4 of the way! Not comfortable. I felt like a teeter totter, & have no idea how I was able to sleep like that. I don't think I hurt anything, but boy oh boy. I will be glad when this TE is gone. No date set yet, save for a revision surgery May 4 to the "good" side - my implant is getting switched out, lowered a bit, and my plastic surgeon is removing the Alloderm at the bottom portion of the breast which I've always hated.

On a humorous note- last weekend I was with a girlfriend, and she said- you look great- but just adjust your bra, you're a little crooked. I said, I know- but didn't adjust. She said it again, and I said, AGAIN- I KNOW! I can't adjust it! It's on the inside! Funny. 😂

Have a nice day...it's almost officially Spring!

Finally SAW my first robin yesterday, so Spring is here! Now it can warm up. Thank you again everyone for the tips. It feels good to be on my Tamoxifen-free honeymoon but I know I have to start up again soon. My Effexor withdrawal symptoms are completely gone now, thank goodness! I made an appointment with our "Integrative Medicine" doctor and will see her on April 1. She does acupuncture, herbal supplements and other wellness/holistic things like meditation, yoga, diet change, etc. She specializes in "cancer care" so I am hopeful that I can get some relief from the mood swings, night sweats, headaches and leg cramps that Tamoxifen brings. Still waiting for the hole in my breast to heal & seal before radiation, but it is getting smaller. I heard calendula cream helps with radiation burn...anyone have experience with that?

MoonFlwr thanks for the other tips about packing wounds...I had to laugh because I was indeed shoving sanitary napkins in my tank top during the leaky phases. Loopy It worked!

    Hope everyone is well.

hi all and welcome coolcat.  I'm in the southwest part of the state, where Monday afternoon it hit 75!  Tues afternoon it was 30 degrees cooler, crazy!  Pretty day today so walked for errands then for pleasure.  Robins are here, I can hear them singing, but haven't spied one yet.  Got tulips, daffodils & lilies just coming up.  No crocus yet, so either they were eaten or didn't survive the winter.  Or maybe they're just sleeping ~ like the parrot in that old Monty Python skit.  :-)

Hope everyone has a restful & pain-free weekend.  ♥ Go Badgers!

Finally saw the robins I've been hearing. Counted four in my front yard. So pretty in the snow. We got three inches but they're saying maybe three more overnight. That would be OK but not the freezing drizzle. Brought work home in case the roads were unsafe & I could telecommute. Will see what the morning brings.

No robins in the northern part of the state yet. Weekend was bright and sunny but very cold. We missed the snow overnight. Work has been crazy since I've been back (3 weeks) so not much time on BCO these days.

Hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to all newbies!Happy

We got enough snow for everyone - some places by me got a foot. Glad I let the garden sleep another week.

Glad to have come back to this website to see how many gals from my chilly home state. I admit, since my 2 surgeries I have been exceptionally cold, way colder than I ever have been. Does this ever go away from what long timers have discovered?! Or am I turning into my Mother? I have also been blessed to see a few robins in my yard. I even saw 2 trying to refurbish a nest! Yay! I am ready for warmer weather although I am finding that post lumpectomy/drastic breast reduction; from a 32DDD to a very small B, I have nothing that either fits as I am familiar with it fitting or I look/feel dumpy. Short of buying a new wardrobe, which is NOT in the finances, what have any of you done to remedy this problem? I don't feel like me, although I prefer how I look now, and I am 4 weeks almost to the date of my last surgey and I am still so fricken tired some days. Today I took a 4 hour nap. Could have slept longer. Any suggestions? Lastly, without having read 4 years of posts, which walks/runs/benefits are any of you participting in this year?

hello ladies!! just realized this thread was not in my favorites!! so that's why i haven't heard anything! lol

rockandroll, i am just trying on clothes for our FL vacation (yea!) -went from a 42D to a <B - which exposed a secondary roll that apparently was hiding out under my boobs!! now it's exposed in all it's loveliness in some of my favorite T's!! have to go with button down blouses til i figure out what exercises will get rid of that thing &, oh yea, i suppose stop the carb fest :) but not til after vacation of couse! I am actually taking 2 of my favorite tops to a tailor to see if they can decrease the top without taking in the bottom...>sigh<

Onc, you just need to get some meat on your bones! :) wait..i have an extra roll..my BS told me with radiation it takes 10 times the normal healing time - TEN - i think he was just buying time..

hopefully SOON it will be getting warm enough to plan that get-together! no running or walking - just marathon gabbing/whining/encouraging!

hi all, thread is quiet. I've been off the board all week. Everyone staying warm & watching basketball?

One week on anastrozole (generic Arimidex) and doing all right.  Did my first 5k walk of the season yesterday.  Sunny cold morning but the Easter Bunny was there & it was fun.

    Go Badgers! ♥

Anyone free during the week in the SE part of the state is invited to a recital on April Fool's Day - I will be playing in the Mozart "Kegelstatt" trio at Southminster Presbyterian Church here beginning at 1pm (it's south of Sunset off of Grand so actually not terribly far from OncoWarrior's Franklin location!) Our local music study club started back in 1927 which means we are upholding a long tradition of light classical performance along with refreshments...

I'm also planning to attend the Susan G Komen lunch in Milwaukee March 31st: anyone else going? I don't support all of their activities but they accepted funding from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, making the cost & parking = 0. The speaker will be a naturopathic "doctor".

Its finally getting to temps that are near normal here in CT. Sure do miss being in Wisconsin right now. Been watching the Badgers playing in the basketball tourney and loving it. Was worried how they would do against North Carolina, but glad to see they are this far. Hope they ruin the Wildcats pursuit of a perfect season and get revenge for the loss in last year's tourney!

Hi everyone.  I have finished up with the chemo but I am having issue with side effects?  The docs don't know.  I have had cultures done 5 times now and nothing comes back but I have had a fever since the 4th day after chemo (March 22).  Ended up in the hospital for a week with 2 types of antibiotics being pumped into me and still no break in my fevers.  I go from 97 degrees to 102 daily.  It is getting really frustrating.  This cycle happens a few times through the day.  Now my nose is bleeding and I'm told that is not the chemo.  Well I never had nose bleeds before so...

Other then that I am glad I don't have any more chemo and I hope to break this fever soon.  Thanks again to everyone for the support.

Next stop we squash those Blue Devils. I know my breast surgeon will most likely be rooting for the Badgers because she detests Duke!

Milwaukee was crazy Saturday night between the Badgers game and the Bucks playing in town and some great weather. Hopefully the magic will continue through this evening. (Although it looks like the Brewers could use a little help right now).
