    Sue, tell us more.

Inquiring minds want to know, where were you, who were you with and what were you doing when the accident happened. Most important; were you having FUN? I mean, if you're going to hurt yourself you should be playing, not scrubbing the bathtub or something like that, yes. I hope the rehab center is a decent place. I hear that Linden Grove facilities are really nice (Eden Alternative), but they are closer to Milwaukee, not down by you. ( "Down by you", so Wisconsin, eh?)

Maybe you have some rehab center stories to share?

    moo to youuu Nerdy

ouch, notbuyingit! Like I told my hubby after he was readmitted to the hospital after hip replacement several years ago, you don't need to go to that extreme just to get three meals a day prepared for you (I think he actually preferred their cuisine over my efforts) - there's always carry out if your favorite restaurant doesn't deliver.

Seriously, those rehab therapists are great at getting folks back on their feet. So much safer than stumbling around at home. Seems like our weather suddenly went from hot & humid to cold damp which means you're not missing much. Hope we have a long beautiful autumn to enjoy once you're discharged.

Thanks for the video badger: love to hear those corks popping...

thanks for the good thoughts!! yes i have come a long way & am extremely grateful to all who got me here. I am at the Springs in McHenry IL they were rated highest in the area - good people - good therapy - but like a lot of businesses lately - understaffed. Lots of looong waits for bedpans & meds...decent food but usually cold. . It's next door to an assisted living facility so i'd say 90% of patients are older than me. I've had a couple of spunky room mates and that's been fun. But after 2 mos i am more than ready to go home!

Onc, I was on my way in to the Lake Geneva Y to go swimming - i had been going 3 times a week for a while, the water was wonderful for all my aches & pains and they had bubbler benches for mt nueropathy...was feeling pretty good actually - going to start back full time i at work in July . Anyway it was a drizzly Monday morning...really didn't want to go...but i went - literally opened the door & put one foot on the tile entry - it slid out from underneath me & i was looking at my foot! had just enough time to think "i'm screwed" annd down i went - onto my right elbow with enough force to break the upper arm off at the shoulder - slight fracture of my left wrist - must have hit the door on the way down. Screamed and cussed like a banshee - doubt i'll be renewing my membership :)

anyway the vascular work they had to do on my leg was probably partially due to the nueropathy...tho the doc said most people with that type of injury usually loose the leg so i am counting my blessings...may never get feeling back in my foot but i can walk with a brace and cane

certainly hope this is it for me now!! lost my job...but looking forward to taking some time to recuperate - time i never got during the BC journey...should get a handicap sticker now! trying to look on bright side.

    thanks for caring! ~~~Sue

    Sue. Hugs honey! THAT SUCKS!!!!!

I hate that you list your job. I lost mine during chemo. FMLA wasn't long enough. Sigh.

I've been going to the Y for swimming too. It's closed for another week for repair. But it's one exercise I can do so I try to go every week. A lot f our ladies do. One of our oldest, just was put on oxygen and she won't be able to swim my more unless she can talk her doc into letting her try. She did 12 or more laps a day! She'll miss t. A lot the ladies are careful because of the weather though.

I personally you start healing faster.

    Much love.

((Sue)) that sux! I know it's the Y but I bet they have insurance. Even though you probably signed a waiver of liability, surely they knew (or should have known) about the slip & fall hazard of wet tile.

I'm not on FB but for those who are, here's a link to fuzzy's page. ♥

I'm so close to you baby but I'm so far away
    There's a silence between us
And there's so much to say

You're my strength, you're my weakness
You're my faith, you're my doubt
We gotta meet in the middle
    To work this thing out

More love, I can hear our hearts cryin'
More love, I know that's all we need
More love to flow in between us
To take us and hold us and lift us above
If there's ever an answer it's more love

I'm not on Facebook but was able to read thru fuzzy's posts there (and see the photos): she is truly amazing!

Did a little research by going to Monica's Haiku page and found the new baby pix. So cute with the red & green Christmas color footprints on the blanket

hi all, dang hot here today. Got out for a walk early then cleaned up the flower bed on the west side of the house, while still shady there. We were going to grill brats tonight but the idea of tending a hot grill is blech. Maybe do a simple supper of angel hair pasta sauced with home-grown tomatoes, onions & basil. Apple crisp for dessert, made with the first macs from MIL's tree.

Must share this posting from another thread.

So important for us here in the Dairy state.

    moo.

    Cows & Politics Explained

A CHRISTIAN DEMOCRAT: You have two cows. You keep one and give one to your neighbor.

A SOCIALIST: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.

AN AMERICAN REPUBLICAN: You have two cows. Your neighbor has none. So what?

AN AMERICAN DEMOCRAT: You have two cows. Your neighbor has none. You feel guilty for being successful. You vote people into office who tax your cows, forcing you to sell one to raise money to pay the tax. The people you voted for then take the tax money and buy a cow and give it to your neighbor. You feel righteous.

A COMMUNIST: You have two cows. The government seizes both and provides you with milk.

A FASCIST: You have two cows. The government seizes both and sells you the milk. You join the underground and start a campaign of sabotage.

DEMOCRACY, AMERICAN STYLE: You have two cows. The government taxes you to the point you have to sell both to support a man in a foreign country who has only one cow, which was a gift from your government.

CAPITALISM, AMERICAN STYLE: You have two cows. You sell one, buy a bull, and build a herd of cows.

BUREAUCRACY, AMERICAN STYLE: You have two cows. The government takes them both, shoots one, milks the other, pays you for the milk, then pours the milk down the drain.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION: You have two cows. You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows. You are surprised when the cow drops dead.

A FRENCH CORPORATION: You have two cows. You go on strike because you want three cows.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION: You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create clever cow cartoon images called Cowkimon and market them World-Wide.

A GERMAN CORPORATION: You have two cows. You reengineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and milk themselves.

A BRITISH CORPORATION: You have two cows. They are mad. They die. Pass the shepherd's pie, please.

AN ITALIAN CORPORATION: You have two cows, but you don't know where they are. You break for lunch.

A RUSSIAN CORPORATION: You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five cows. You count them again and learn you have 42 cows. You count them again and learn you have 12 cows. You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.

A SWISS CORPORATION: You have 5000 cows, none of which belong to you. You charge others for storing them.

A BRAZILIAN CORPORATION: You have two cows. You enter into a partnership with an American corporation. Soon you have 1000 cows and the American corporation declares bankruptcy.

AN INDIAN CORPORATION: You have two cows. You worship both of them.

A CHINESE CORPORATION: You have two cows. You have 300 people milking them. You claim full employment, high bovine productivity, and arrest the newsman who reported on them.

AN ISRAELI CORPORATION: There are these two Jewish cows, right? They open a milk factory, an ice cream store, and then sell the movie rights. They send their calves to Harvard to become doctors. So, who needs people?

AN ARKANSAS CORPORATION: You have two cows. That one on the left is kinda cute.

The funeral is Friday in Janesville. In true fuzzy style, there's also an "after-party" with food, a bar, live music, and lots of memories. I can't go but will be there in spirit. Love you Chris. ♥

I wish I could go but I'm still sick and wouldn't want to spread it around. I'm better but not good enough to drive over 2 hours each way. Sigh. But she's in my prayers.

Fuzz and I had a great time the last time I saw her. We met at Boston Market. Of course between the 2 of us we were each at the wrong Boston Market. I told her to stay put and high tailed it from Bluemont to Bayshore as fadt s I could. LOL. But we ad a great time.

    Fuck cancer

I am from Chippewa Falls in west central Wisconsin. I teach 6 th grade SPED at CF Middle School. I missed the last 12 weeks of last year with mastered tony and chemo. But started this year when school started. I am working 4 days weeks until mid October...5 days are exhausting.

My Dear SIL passed away yesterday. She went quietly in her sleep. Guess I won't be seeing her during my trip after all. I'll miss her smile and her humor. But most of all I'll miss her zest for life. My DH was Always surprised to see the one thing we shared. A love of sleeping In. You have to understand she was a nature lover, Ranger, fire fighter, VERY Active Person. Usually people like that are early risers; but not my dSIL! LOL He got o spend 3 months with her in July. I'm so happy for that.

    Thank you for your prayers.

We are sinking down to the bottom of the page again so here's a bump for us! Anyone else planning to attend the Breast Cancer Recovery program in Sun Prairie on Saturday, October 24? I went last year for the first time.
