Laid down for a nap and got up to find about 3 inches of snow and more coming heavily down...UGH. My chihuahuas said NO WAY MOM we're NOT going outside..... and i am out of puppy pads...
Anyone have experience with St.Mary's Hospital in Madison for any reason? I did a comparison thing online with it and the UW Madison and it came out higher % wise for better care and less infections after surgeries so I think I will go there for my surgery. How far out do hospitals generally schedule prophalactic surgeries ? I am hoping for March. My youngest , my daughter thats 22, is getting married this summer and I want the worst of recup time to be over by then.

Congrats to the mother of the bride-to-be!
St. Mary's in Madison has a great rep and the one on South Park Street has valet parking.
I ended up taking Monday off to dig out and recuperate from all that shoveling. Went in Tues and we got a few more inches which made for a brutal four-hour commute home. Half that time was spent crawling along the beltline at 5 mph. Left work at 4:00 and didn't hit the Verona Road until 6:00. It floors me that our capital city has such a hard time getting the snow off the roads.
Yesterday and today were uneventful and for that I'm grateful. ♥ to all

wow such a long treacherous drive.....on sunday we crawled to my baby sisters baby shower...i HAD to go because i bought and brought the cake and there were other guests that lived closer and were going to make it there...went about 20mph from richland center to spring green in my Smart car with my daughter....we had fun doing some "donut" spins in the bowling alley parking lot. I won a nice little game prize of bath/body products .

Yeah, 360's in the parking lot is fun but on the road it's better to go slow and get there than try to go fast and wind up in the ditch. Saw three slide-offs in the first mile of 18-151 Tues. The speed limit goes up and people are impatient and frustrated from all that slowness. It usually takes 90 mins to get home so four hours was crazy. I had some good music and had made a pit stop before I left work so was able to gut it out.

Badger glad you made it ok. The older I get the more I worry about traveling in it. Stay safe everyone

Hi All...I'm located in Milwaukee near the lake. Lots of snow and wind on that Sunday. Asked my husband to take me out for a ride in the Jeep to see the waves crashing. It was pretty awesome. Good luck to Blue!!
Can I ask has anyone on from Wisconsin done the A/C protocol? I started with T/C but had an allergic reaction after the second cycle and now have to change to A/C. Any insights would be great to hear.
Thanks...

Hi dec14.

hi all and welcome dec14. There are several here from southeast WI.
I had TC chemo but good luck with the AC.
Blue, thinking of you and hoping all is well.
OMG pray for New England. Boston has gotten 6 feet of snow in the last month, with more to come.

Welcome dec14 from a fellow Wisconsinite, currently in Connecticut!
forecasted to get 3-6 inches this weekend. We've had a couple of days where we did get a little melting but its bitter cold this morning here where I am.

dec14, another TCH here. Try the A C thread for more specific help. I can sympathize, but no real help on the red devil.
Mommy, hope the storm doesn't hit too bad!
Badger, Has your area gotten a lot? I know Madison has gotten a bit.
Blue hoping things went well.
Much love to all

hey....the mammo was negative , however i was supposed to have an MRI in january (6 months after my biopsy and they missed scheduling it)....so since the mri found the papilloma last night i will wait to be certain of my current status until the mri is done....PS and BS BOTH said having recon would be major surgery and require a flap. I am sooo angry...i was never told what the ramifications of doing rads would have on future recon....im going to talk to a lawyer this week.

Awww hell blue! Sorry about that news of a reconstruction problem. Hoping the MRI is good too.
Ask your P'S about fat grafting before implants. They have had more success with that route. They add fat a couple of times and the skin seems to stretch better. I don't have any links. But I've seen a discussion about it on a couple of boards. I agree that B'S don't really ell out the chances of reconstruction are other the greatest after RADS.
Good luck and much love

We have lots of roads. Very few are smooth lol. The winters kill them and your lucky to see them in good condition for more than a year, but it almost takes an act of flying monkeys to get them repaired or even for new road surface to be put down. Usually its just patch the bad spots and move on!

Can we drop one on the head of the governor of Connecticut? He needs to have a massive wake-up call!

BWS...I know it doesn't do you any good because of my geography, but my ps in NYC says she does a lot of recon on radiated breasts. I realize it is a pain, but might it be worth a trip to Chicago to find someone who might be able to do what you want.
I don't want to give you false hope, but I wouldn't take no for an answer yet.
As for the nipple thing, yes it has nerves, but those nerves don't really hook up with the sex part of the brain.

Moonflower..... ive already discussed fat grafting...and it is not recommended in my case as i am er/pr+....i was told that it would make a recurrence higher risk....
i have a PS appt tomorrow but have to reschedule due to a family obligation ....so more waiting...also need to call back about the mri as they havent called to make that appt yet.
My mom found out her thyroid cancer has returned third time in 2 years...this time in her lungs

Welcome Dec14, I had the A/C. Drink lots of water the day before, day of and days after to flush that red devil out. I also sucked on ice chips, popsicles, and once had ice cream during infusion to prevent the mouth sores. It did help. Its cumulative so the longer your on it the worse that you feel. It helped me to keep walking but I had it in the summer and fall so it was nicer to be outside then. I lost my hair about 2 weeks after my first treatment but didn't lose my eyebrows and lashes until I got onto taxol later on. Also, don't be surprised if you gain weight as they pump you with steroids with this cocktail. My MO told me most people gain 20 lbs on this treatment. This was a shock to me as I always thought you'd lose weight. I guess it depends on the treatment? Anyway, good luck and best wishes!
