E- that is awesome! Helps you to see the finished product beside putting it on yourself. What are you doing with this next round of items? Another craft event? Do you know about etsy? I know some people sell their craft items on that?
Well, the end of another week and hope everybody survived! I made good progress on my contract but have an outstanding question about insurance and waiting to see if they will accept my current coverage. Hoping to wrap this up by early next week and get going!
I shifted gears today and met my former massage therapist for breakfast and had a good visit, went to my favorite yoga class I have not been able to get to in over a month, and also tried to go down to a shop and stroll event that was a bust. The friend I was going to go with ended up having a late afternoon business commitment and another friend going had a sick pet and had to opt out. But I had another open house event down that way and stopped by and did a "selfie with Santa" and then tried to go to the shop and stroll event for awhile on my own. That was a complete bust as it was a mob scene, no parking, etc. I have not been to that in many years, and now realize if I cannot be down there an hour before, to forget it. I left and back home and okay with that too.
Tomorrow I have lots to do around home, some errands, a trip to the gym and dinner at a friend's new apt. Like E, I am already for the holidays to be over!

Jazzy -- Thanks for sharing that video. She's just 16 and fighting ovarian cancer. My heart goes out to her and all the young women (and children and teens) fighting cancer.
Melp -- You're probably right about the tablets. Femara and zoladex can cause fatigue.
About chemo: I've read that chemo can leave many people with long-term SE's. Many of you completed chemo very recently. Personally, I'd be surprised if the symptoms I'm having are from chemo, which I finished 4 years ago. When I first finished chemo, I had some problems, such as with memory. But these new symptoms started recently... unless I've always had them and I forgot about them. LOL.
Today I called to make an appointment with my oncologist, but the phone rep checked my insurance and told me it's been cancelled (which I knew would happen eventually after divorce). So, I left a message for the cancer center's insurance specialist. I probably have no other option except ACA insurance (a.k.a. "Obamacare"). I've never received any type of gov't assistance in my life, but I have no other option right now. I did look at the ACA website and may sign up this weekend, if I can. Has anyone here had any luck with the insurance on ACA? Any recommendations?
I'm not ready for Christmas at all, and because I couldn't find work, we may have to have a dollar store Christmas this year. LOL. But, you know what, this could be fun. I've learned to be very creative with very little money. I noticed there are android phones that are free with $6/month service contracts. Do any of you know anything about that? Did I misunderstand, maybe? Any recommendations?

Life- I have had ACA coverage the past two years. I signed up with a new carrier this week for a 2016 policy but was not able to pay on line when I did and called them but they did not have my info in the system yet. I am going to call again today to see if the application came through, and need to get the payment done so this is finalized. I will send you a PM about ACA and what to be looking at. You have until 12/15/15 to sign up for an ACA policy and that date is coming up quickly.
I don't know anything about cel phones and contracts you mentioned. I have a business phone that cost considerably more than that. I think there are plans where you can get a phone with some limited minutes for a few dollars a month. Organizations like AARP may have info about those, if you happen to be a member. Sorry I could not be of better help on this one.
PM to follow.

I am luck here in Canada we are ok it's one of the things that scares me the most. Not having money to care for myself but insurance here at least covers the Drs appointments and most basics.
Bb did you manage to get the forms filled by the new Dr's. Hope u were able to get In that program you spoke about.
Symplicity how is the skin? Better?
Lili how are you doing? Melb you are in my thoughts

BB- have you talked to the American Cancer Society? If there is nothing through Medicaid, I wonder if they don't have some sort of program that you can be referred to that would also be paid for? I have heard from several on these sites that ACS has helped people get services with grants and other funding they have available. I think one Stage IV sister is getting some help for rent as well? Maybe your local Komen chapter could be a resource too? Just idea, not sure if you have explored these or not, but thought if you hadn't, might be worth conside ring. I know you are worn out.
Sorry yesterday was hard. Hugs sister.
E- that video made me teary too. But thought it was too lovely to not share.
Cubbie- what is up with you this weekend?
I think I saw on Simplicity FB page she has some company in visiting and hope your time together is good S.
I am at home working on things here today and going to dinner at a friends later. Trying to slow down and get this house in order. Looks like a tornado whipped through here this week!

BB -- I remember your terrible experience with ACA. I've been wary of ACA, especially considering some of the stories in the news, but now I have to take the plunge. So, Medicaid doesn't provide for mental health services? At my cancer center, a psychologist (or psychiatrist - I forget which) was made available to all us cancer patients free of charge. The reason I know is that the service was offered to me a few times - lol - read into that whatever you like - lol. I declined the offer each time. But, I wonder whether the same is offered at your cancer center.
Enerva and Jazzy -- Sounds as if the two of you are having productive weekends. That's a good thing. One of my sons had something important to do today, but I had to drop my sons out of other activities this weekend in order to make my weekend productive, too.
It's great to vent here with all of you. These issues we discuss are difficult to share with anyone else.
You know how life is like a chess game sometimes? I'm not a chess player, but life is like a chess game, anyway. When things go wrong, you think about your next move and try not to get trapped. Well, yesterday, I received some interesting news - I can't say any more than that here - but let's just say that another path might've opened up, and I'll leave it at that.
Wishing some good news for all of you, too. :-)

Life- I will share I have been on ACA for almost two years, and with BSBC although different plan types. One was a PPO plan which means you pretty much can pick who you want to use for doctors and the other was an HMO, where doctors have to be contracted to that plan. I have had pretty good luck so far, I did have to have surgery for some skin cancer the summer before last and got that easily approved and paid for. Most everything else has been the follow ups, 6 month imaging studies, meds and now Prolia shots for bone health.
I did have some issues with genetics tests that were done by the BS office, but that was their fault as they did not get the proper authorizations for that. I have had endless problems with genetics tests getting paid for with ACA or other plans, and now just refuse to do any more of them.
This last year, my plan was an HMO so if you go that route, you have to be sure your doctors are contracted with the plan. They have a doctor finder tool and if you cannot find them, also call the plan. As a double check, I called all my providers as well to be sure they were contract with the health plan. I have to have my PCP, BS and MO in network. If you have any specialized medications (for example, my Prolia shots), you may want to be sure those are covered as well. I know the carriers here that have remained in ACA have all gone to HMO plans here in my state. The carrier I ended up choosing was really my only real option to be able to keep my current doctors. Then it was a matter of deciding which plan was the best for the rest. I know the industry and find it complicated myself to wade through all this stuff.
Sounds like something has shifted for you my friend on other fronts. Good to hear and wish you luck with some things moving in your favor!

BB, I'm sorry the mental health service ended up being a dead end. Once again, I'm frustrated by the inadequate resources for mental health in this country.
Life, it's great that your cancer center has mental health services on site for patients. I wish we did here. I think a psychologist should be a member of the cancer center treatment team.
I had some family drama this weekend that threw everything off, and I didn't get much done today. I'm still waiting to hear back from doctor's offices about what they want me to do next, which isn't helping my anxiety any. It's been a rough week - on top of everything else, an old co-worker from a previous job was diagnosed with cancer. I don't have any details yet, but he can't be more than 50. It's really rattled me, it seems like everybody is falling apart medically these days. A woman I knew through my job years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer a month after me, so I've been following her progress, and now my old friend as well...what's happening to us?

BB -- Good luck with your court motion. :-) All we can do is do our best. Talk it through here anytime.
Cubbie -- I hope your coworkers are doing well with treatment. It does seem as if so many people are dealing with a DX right now.
Lily -- Sorry to hear about the accident. Best wishes on healing quickly and fully.

Just wanted to drop by and send hugs to everyone (((HUGS)))

Lily, sorry to hear about your injury. Hopefully something that won't take long to heal?
Simplicity, I hear you on the Christmas thing. I want to get into the Christmas spirit, but there's just too much in up the air, and too much crap going on. I can't even think that far ahead yet.
Had a flat tire this morning. Plus, my new spare, which I just bought this summer, had a bad valve stem, so it was no good either. I just went through this "bad spare tire" business over the summer and bought the new spare to try to address all that! The tire shop is getting an earful tomorrow morning. Went to my mother's house and found out the pest control people say we have termites again. No cost to treat, since we're under contract, but what a hassle. Family drama continues - what's new?

Yes and the country is in such a mess all due to previous Chavez and the clown which is in power now.
Venezuela elections: Turning point for world's worst economy?
December 07
NEW YORK
Venezuela is the world's worst economy this year.
But Venezuelans voted for changeSunday, offering the best hope for a turnaround in 16 years.
The country's broad opposition party, Democratic Unity, won a majority of seats in Congress. The vote was a huge blow to President Nicolas Maduro and his United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
It's one of the biggest wins for the opposition party since Maduro's predecessor, the late Hugo Chavez, began his rule in 1999.
Venezuela's economy has tanked -- it's expected to shrink 10% this year. Inflation has risen 159% and it's expected to rise 204% next year, according to IMF. Its currency, the bolivar, is worth less than a penny on the black market exchange rate, after having lost 81% of its value against the dollar this year.
Maduro's government can't pay for basic imports like diapers and flour. That leaves many Venezuelans waiting in line for several hours outside grocery stores with empty shelves. The unemployment rate is expected to be 14% this year and 18% next, according to the IMF. In 2014 it was 7.9%.

Well, then, this does sound like very hopeful news for Venezuela.

Lol good morning everyone
Hope all have a great wed I am just making my breakfast to go get the train. Yesterday there was cut down at work. Most of the contract developers and a few contract bas were let go.
I am sad cuz one of them sits beside me and he is a good one.
It's sad how they take jobs away at this time of the year

Hi ladies- been very busy with finalizing the contract so I can get to work, but wanted to share the following with you. My holiday card to you.
This photo was taken around Christmas weekend last year when I was up north at the hot springs. Sunrise over the Sangre De Christo Mountains just south of Taos.
May you find peace during this time of the year, and wishing everyone a healthy and better New Year.

Thank you, Jazzy, for sharing the photo and the Christmas wishes. May you enjoy a peaceful holiday season, too. :-)

That mouse reminds me of Geronimo Stilton, the children's book character. He always has green clothes on.
Beautiful photo, Jazzy!
