I have learned when working, it gives me structure in my life to be more effective and balanced. It is nice to have breaks between contracts, but if they are too long, not best for me.

Work is also good for socialization, especially for us single folks with no one at home.

I hope you win. I did not buy a ticket. I hope a few people win. They said something like $350 M after taxes based on the $800 M. They think it is going over a billion though. Just wow!

BB - there I was feeling delighted for you that things are going your way at last and good possibilities opening up for you and then I read your post about the lottery and if you win it  - THANK YOU SO MUCH so generous to even think of me, I can´t tell you how much it helps to know you REALLY get it as non BC people just don´t, not at all.....I hope some good opportunities come my way this year as I need some distractions....and money!!

I was thinking that I seem to have lost lightness of spirit since BC, I just have this heavy feeling every day, if not on my actual chest then in my gut, its just heavy, makes life hard work...........its not depression it just there.........never in my worst dreams did I think I would be almost 60, alone, and feeling like I screwed up badly..........

And now I am waiting on tests again.........and have my annual MRI to look forward to, which is always such a hard ordeal as it takes so long to get a vein that does not collapse.......(and I did not have chemo)

But it warms my heart to read all your news..............Cubbie rads will soon be over....

    Nite all

That is a very white kitchen.

BB- thank you for wishing me good health. I had a good life before BC, but between deaths in the family and my medical crisis in 2012 with both issues, it took me awhile to climb out. I am trying to live better going forward and to take care of myself first. I am also learning to be kinder to myself and more into self forgiveness.

I wish for you the most enjoyable job that fulfills you but does not exhaust you, that pays you what you deserve and gives you the benefits you need to take care of yourself. For quality time with you family, your mom and boys, and to find the love you so deserve. I wish you improving health as you go forward, and to live a joyful life.

jazzygirl - I do enjoy massage particularly foot and shoulder rubs! Not sure if I will go by myself or not.

I have a CT scan on the 19th to check how the hormone tablets are working on my tumours. Hoping for good news!!

My mum is coming to stay with me for a few days at the end of this week!! She is also seeing my grandpa who's wife is now in a nursing home. She has alzehimers.

My mood is still up and down but I recently went onto 150mg of Effexor which I have been on since 2011. The new dose made me sweat allot more than usual. Found out that is common with this medication....

    Morning ladies.

Melp, the 19th sounds so far away :( Glad your mom is coming to stay with you and hope you ladies have a great visit!!

BB, E, I'll probably buy one ticket this time. I won my money back with the last tickets. I can deal with that. So much I'd do, one of which would be to meet all of you :)

Idk about the 'boyfriend' thing and also not sure why the 'label' scares me. What do I have to lose labeling such a thing? Wonder what would be different if anything. Been a long time, and I have changed so much since the last relationship. Think I'll just enjoy it as it is for now. He hasn't inquired about commitment, or exclusivity, not that I am talking to or seeing anyone else, not sure if he is or isn't, I haven't asked but highly doubt it.

Hell week at work (beginning of spring semester) so I better get to gettin!

Love to all. To those I missed especially.

Melp- good to hear your mother is coming to visit.

Would your mom go to the spa with you? I bet she could use a treatment too. Visiting a parent with Alsheimers not easy, both my parents had it at the end. I hope the visit goes well.

I get hot flashes on the anastrazole I take and have learned to dress in layers. Summers are particularly worse for me now here in the desert with that. It is pretty cold here this winter, but if I get hot indoors, I can take off the layers. It is summer there so you must be warm.

Simplicity- good luck with the new semester starting. I am glad you are enjoying your new friends company.

E- I hope you get some offers from the open house yesterday! Mo money!

    Have a good week everybody!

BB- this is so exciting you are in the finalist group BB. Fingers crossed. You go girl!

I will share that very few people wear suits anymore for interviews. Maybe find yourself a nice pair of pants and tailored blouse to wear and you will likely do just great! I bet you can find some good deals post holidays at the department stores. I am a big fan of Eileen Fisher and her clothing is very stylish and simple and could be worn for other things. But it has to be on sale, very pricey for full price items.

Do you have a nice Macy's, Nordstroms or the like? Usually the women in the better clothing sections can be super helpful with putting together an outfit for you. We have Dillards here and whenever there is something going on with the Eileen Fisher or other better lines, they call me. I have a hard time finding good business clothing here in NM and have to dress up as a consultant.

So happy for you. This all feels like it is coming together nicely. You deserve it!

BB- your outfit sounds nice, but might be more than you want to do for the interview. I understand not wanting to go buy an outfit for the interview (I guess my thought was you could wear it again when you got the job there/mix match with other things). Rule of thumb with interviews is to dress simple and to make sure things fit. You really want them to pay attention to you and your skills, not your outfit. Definately don't wear anything to small or tight as you will be fussing with it the whole time.

The Eileen Fisher line is so nice, but I always wait to buy when prices get cut. They are having a sale on their web site this week too, but it does not start until Thursday though. An additional 25% off sale, which may make it more do-able if your interview is not this week?

I had to meet the physician champions on my project today and wore an Eileen Fisher sweater and matching scarf. I felt so good in that outfit today, and just the right thing to meet these guys (who were very nice I might add).

Talbots is another good place to look, they have more classic styles and also have a sale going on. I used to be a huge Talbots shopper, as my mother was a big fan, but don't go there as much anymore. I think it was our thing we did together, but now that she is gone, I realize it was more her style than mine. I like to wear fun and creative clothing too!

Other great stores to check out are Chico's., J Jills, Anthropologie.

Oh and I was going to ask you about a nice leather coat (I too got a great one from a consignment shop). A nice leather coat would top off a look!

Hi hi Bb I am so excited yaaaaaiiii

Melb I am glad your Dr. Are watching all closely

Jazz I just had my first listing lol of a room. Lol

In a very beautiful apt though and I took the pictures so I need you all to see and give me your opinion on the listing . Pictures and words lol

    Mls # W3391708

Hope you ladies see it. I think is is too much money but that is what some crazy people pay for a bedroom here.

Anyway I also got a call from a client who wanted to put an offer on the house I had the open house but they wanted to offer 625,000

And off course the owner won't go for it :(

So there goes my chance. It turned out the owner wot take nothing less than 700k

So very Sad I lost the chance to make some money .

Oh well I ll keep an eye in case something happen with that.

Bb in many ocasión I lended my cloth to a friend for her to go to an interview lol I am so old fashion I wear suits every day but I take great care of my suits so I had acumulación of them lol I think my fear from moving is finding a place with a big enough closet to not have to give up my cloth lol but I wish I could dress you up for that interview lol Jazz is right no many people wear suits these days so don't worry I know anything you decide will be perfect . Most time your personality and atitude is all that matters

    Love u all

BB - No my dad is a shift worker so he has not normal working hours. I've had ct's done before I know what I'm in for. Just the results I'm a little apprehensive about.

Another thing I've recently started a blog about my experiences with BC...would love if you guys had a look its on this link Melissa's Blog

There's more to add to it. It has an aussie focus obviously but I have listed this site on it :)

Melp- what an awesome blog! Given that breast cancer is less common for younger women (you are so young), this will help a lot of others along with helping yourself. I think there is at least one other young woman here I know of (27Heart?) and think having a blog to share things is so helpful. I will keep a pulse on your blog going forward to keep up with you. I love the photo too, you are a very lovely young woman.

I hope your mom would like to go to the spa with you. Many years ago when I lived near my parents and my father was ill from early onset Alzheimer disease, I found this very nice spa and took my mother for either a half day or day a few times a year. She was so stressed from taking care of my father, it gave her a much needed break. We had good friends my dad would stay with so she could get a break. You and your mom are both going through stressful times, and it will be good to share something nice together. I look forward to hearing about your spa treatments.

Hoping the scans go okay and know the waiting for results is the worst. Then there is whatever that follows. We will be here with you to listen if you need us, sister.

C- I think you are getting your "real estate groove" back and sorry the latest things are not working out, but hoping for more good listings and sales with good fees as you go forward. As BB said, now may be slow, but getting back into it now and being ready for Spring may be really great for you? I can tell you as a self employed person, you work and work and work at things and suddenly it shifts and you are going. It will happen for you too!

BB- Oh a 40% discount at Anthropologie? That is awesome, I would be going there for sure if it were me. That store has not really been on my radar but discovered it over at our upscale shopping center after a business meeting last fall. I came away with two things that really can work for business, hence my suggestion. Remember that if for any reason you don't get this opportunity, you may have other interviews too and anything you get can be something you can use for the future. So find something you like and will wear again if you do shop. Excited for you!

The Eileen Fisher sweaters are the best. I was looking on the web page to see if there is anything I want to get when the sale starts but nothing else for now. My Dillards will be having their January sale soon and will go check out their collection on sale. It is nice when you can to get a few peices of her items, they last forever!

We have not heard from Life in awhile, maybe since right before the holidays?

Gotta get ready for work. Wishing you all a good day.

E, it seems like a lot of people have an overinflated idea of what their house is worth. I think all those reality TV shows contribute to the problem. I don't have any delusions about my place. I joke about mine that the lot is worth more than the house, the house is just a shack that comes with the gardens!

Melp, you really are very young to be going through this. ((Hugs)) I think the blog is a good idea. I started a journal myself, although mine is just a document on my computer. It helps me get some of my thoughts out so I can get on with the things we all have to do every day - work, take care of ourselves and our responsibilities, and so on.

BB, I am so excited you made the cut! I am so hoping you get this position. I know it would be hard to manage with your other responsbilities, but it might also be important to your healing from everything you've been through.

Jazzy, hope your new contract is going well.

I saw my MO today and we have a plan for hormonal treatment put together. I know I posted earlier about feeling like I had nothing to look forward to after Christmas. I've been thinking about that, and I've decided that the key is to create some other short term things to look forward to. For instance, a movie I want to see comes out at the end of the month. Then I had the good fortune to have a few things come up out of the blue - I got invited to a trivia night fundraiser for the school music program this weekend, and one of my co-workers is having a 50th birthday party in a few weeks as well, and I've been invited. The big one is that my niece announced that she is coming to visit for my birthday! I have not seen her in a couple of years, since we live over a thousand miles apart. That will be in April, so I have something a little longer term to look forward to as well. She wants to do some scanning of old family photos while she is here, which is a good idea.

Waving to all the quiet singles we haven't seen in a while...Heart, Life, who else am I missing? Stop in and let us know how you are doing.

Cubbie you are so right . I am so surprised that the room I listed already has an appointment for tonight lol I thought it's too much money for one room but it shows me I have no clue .darn I should try renting my Spair room if I could deal with sharing that is lol I jst can't have strangers in my place but the condo fee is killing me. So many people called yesterday regarding that room . I was so surprised ha ha ha I won't get any money due to it is a friend he ll lose $750 already cuz we are giving half month rent to the renter agent then from the other half my office take their cut and I ll give him the 250 I don't mind cuz down the road he ll be my client .also cuz it is great publicity to just have the listing under my name lol

So excited even though I ll make no money on it I ll have the publicity . Cubbie did you see the listing? Did you like the pictures I took lol

Anyway I am on the train sitting on the stairs again and so tired for only a Wednesday

Last night when I got home I went to bring the lck box to my friend cuz I forgot the day before so it cost me another trip to drop it off since there is an agent who ll bring a potential tenant tonight from 6:30 to 7pm

But at least today I won't drive anywhere .

I ll also start my college course this Saturday

A computer course I took it ll be every Saturday for 2 months aaaauuchhh

Bb I am hoping all goes well in the interview

Jazz is so amazing all our do in your job it seems so interesting

I decided to take another course once I finish the one I am to do now. You really inspired me to do more . My ba job is so much crap and I am under that manager that only wants to bother me . Yesterday he requested a development plan to discuss in our next meeting and it's to discus where do I see myselfthis year f f f he is just preparing so at the end of the year he can say oh you didn't acomplished your goals lol but my goal is to find another job so I don't have to see his face again lol

OK the train stop in the middle of the rails and is not moving I am feeling sick already

Good morning friends- like E, I am waking up slow and feeling tired this week. Only one more day on site for me after today, but Friday is filled with calls and other things. I think I am still getting adjusted to the new routines.

Cubbie- I am glad you got to the MO and have a plan for the adjuvent therapy. Which drug are you taking? You probably already know this, but there are threads around any of those drugs to talk about SEs, etc as you begin. Ask away here too! Wishing you luck as you get started.

I am glad you have some new things you have to look forward to. I found after treatment and as I was recovering from everything that things slowly got added back in. Friends would invite me out for simple outings, would go to the hot springs, or get spa treatment, reintroduce my exercise. It actually took a long time too, things got re-added through time and as I was up to it. When you work as some of us do, it takes even longer. I am glad you have some nice events to look forward to and a visit from your niece for your birthday!

My contract is going pretty well, although a bit of a challenge to get my project started. They are finishing up some analysis that needs to be done and trying to answer some questions from senior leaders. My client is frustrated by the whole thing, so I spent yesterday working to help her figure out how to get some of the outputs from a meeting we need to do tomorrow. I am hoping we can push through some of this stuff in the next few weeks and really get going in February. My client did a nice introduction to her entire area yesterday at a meeting to say I am back and what I am doing for them, and that it is always a good thing when I am working there for them. The work is interesting too!

E- I have seen that with some friends and family with respect to overvaluing real estate. When we had to sell our childhood home some 11 years ago, we got 2 real estate appraisals that came out very close. So I asked my sister if we should list at the higher price and she said "no we are listing this house at $400K because that is what it is worth." Super big eye roll on this one. I talked to the real estate agent and she said sometimes when people have an emotional attachment to a home, they overvalue it. She suggested we do what my sister wanted to address her request and see the results, and then lower the price. Well, we went in with the $400K listing, had NOT ONE showing and then got my sister to agree to drop the price. We sold the house within a month of that as is and within the original range. I learned so much from that experience (including that I won't ever be involved in dealing with real estate with my sister again, LOLOLOL!)

You sound tired and cold and hope you get through the day okay. It is very cold here too, but the snow has stopped for the time being.

BB- I hope things are coming together for your interview. Keeping you in my thoughts for the next great conversation and wonderful offer!

Melp- hoping you are doing okay today. Are you able to work at all girlfriend?

Jazzy, I'm actually not sure about which drug I'm taking. The MO and I have settled on AI+OS. I read the TEXT and SOFT studies, and talked to some of the ladies here on other threads. Looking at the studies there seems to be an advantage to AI+OS over Tamoxifen for certain people, which you would think would not apply to me (no chemotherapy needed and over 40), except for the fact that my family has a history of very late menopause. Based on family history, I might have another 15 years of periods! As I told the MO, hormonally, I'm probably closer to 30 something that 40 something. He said it was up to me which one I wanted to choose.

Anyway, I went to update my signature, and then realized that I don't know which AI I am taking yet. I started Lupron for the OS part of the treatment on Tuesday. So far I don't feel any different, but it takes a while to take full effect. I will see the MO in another month to start the AI step.

TGIF girlfriends. What a week, it has been very intense at the client site but I survived. It all came back to me this week about their normal operating culture. I am keeping up though and learning to take a break every afternoon to walk around the building for exercise and fresh air. It helps to clear my head.

It is interesting, there are a few people there I have had some issues from my last big project there; people who were throwing their power around and not the boss of me anyways. I went in thinking to myself as I went in that i would see these people but also asked up front about at least one of them and if I would have to be working with them. My client is not a fan of them either. I don't work for myself to have abusive management situations. Anyways, I have been cordial to everyone and reminded myself yesterday, in general, I am always well received and appreciated for my work there. There are and will always be people who are the minority that feel like the majority. I am choosing to not focus on those people or engage with their drama and it is making for an okay experience so far. Focusing on being grateful for the work I am there to do, and letting go of the rest.

Melp- I figured you would not be able to work with all that has been going on. Although I don't agree we have to be positive and a ray of sunshine when gong through hard times, I do agree with focusing on what we can do and letting go of the rest. I felt that way through treatment, not knowing where anything would go but made the decision to go with what the doctors told me to do and let go of the outcomes. It did help me to get through the worst of the worst times. You have had a lot to deal with friend. Wishing you better days.

Cubbie- usually women who are menopausal take the aromatase inhibitors, younger women take the Tamox but both have SEs you have to watch for. I have been on the generic for arimidex three years now (anastrozole) and happy to share anything with you on that if you end up on this one. I have heard many women are taking the OS drugs now too.

Hi friends- what a week. I had several conference calls today and then work to finish this afternoon. We pushed through some big hurdles with senior management this week, and got a final decision from the CAO this week that will help us to move more fully into the project work (vendor contract execution). Herding cats for sure, but my client said we had a very productive week and she is pleased. We like to hear this!

I had plans to meet a friend tonight for drinks, but we rescheduled for next week. Just as well as I am FRIED! And there is snow moving into the area so I will just relax tonight. I have some spa time planned for tomorrow.

E- that is great news you have a client who needs your help! I hope you have a good meeting on Monday!

Also hope you like your class. I am really wanting to take a class this winter too. I was going to a conference this spring but it got postponed so now I am craving some sort of learning! I also want to take something just for fun, maybe something with music or writing. Let us know how you like your class?

BB- hope things are coming along with the new job opp and you had your next interview. Fingers crossed!

Melp- I think this is your weekend with your mom and hope you have a good visit together. Spa time for you too maybe?

Life, 27Heart, Lily, and everyone else here, wishing you an easy weekend Smile

E- good to hear the class was good. What class is it? Hope your Sunday is both productive with some time to relax.

Found a new reflexology therapist to work on my feet. They feel so much better, I don't think I realized how bad they were. I will see him again.

I never heard about that.... Hummm I must check that out.

The computer course is a requirement in order to be able to take another one I need. Well I just see that for many jobs this is required so I decided slowly to take the courses on my own time.

Here is the basis one .image

I ll post a picture of the other once I must do as a requirement in order to take a macro one I want :)
