June- they must be watching you for cervical cancer because of the HPV positive thing. As I understand it, that is what causes it. I think you have to manage all this stuff because the will treat you like you have nothing better to do
BB mentioned about the links with other cancers. I do feel that once you have had one kind of cancer, they just start looking for others. I am aware that once the switch has been flipped, we can be at risk for other cancers. Breast cancer and skin cancer for me so far.
There are some genes that impact BC and other things like ovarian (BRACA), and some other types of organ cancers and also melanoma. Because I had bilateral, I got tested for all those as many bilateral patients have a genetic cancer. Everything was negative. We had very limited cancer in our family, but now four of us my fathers side of the family have had BC in the last 10 years. Something going on......
I stopped going to a gyn because I had a full hysterectomy right around the time of my dx, but my BS sent me to be sure I was not "overdoing it" with the estrace creme for pelvic health. My BS tries to control other aspects of my care, which has always been a problem for me. The BC docs take care of all the breast related stuff. I begin my next follow ups a week from today.
I would definately question the colonoscopy based on what you have shared. There needs to be a REASON for that one.
BB- it is good to hear your back is better. I feel the AIs are very hard on women and to me, have been the hardest part of the process. I did not have chemo and know that is rugged (just surgery and rads), but the first year on the AIs were wicked for me, and not easy since. The pool is the only place where I can exercise for any length of time due to joint stiffness. I have been able to have a pretty good quality of life the past few years, but definately don't feel like I did before. Cancer changes everything. That being said, I am grateful to be doing as well as I am. I was reflecting in the pool this morning what a long recovery process it really is.
Because I have been consulting for 10 years, I have been able to work around the visits without anyone saying anything and always have them on Fridays which is my non-work day/work from home day. However, since I am thinking of returning to work FT because of soon to be disappearing options for insurance, it is going to get harder for me and thinking about that. I am almost to my 5 years so that will help. I will find out next week if I return to the yearly mammo and visits with the BS this time. I will continue to see the MO every six months until I am done with the AIs and Prolia shots, yearly after. I see an endocrinologist every 3 months. I have always tried to make apts first thing in the am or at the end of the day.
E- Oh the squirrels, they better watch out for you! Waiting 2 weeks will be hard for you friend. Since they just found this, do they know for sure it is fast growing? I assume maybe it was not there before but not sure when they did the last US of that area?
Oh and my stomach is still a bit bothersome. I think I have some IBS going on with my colon, and it is better today but still working it's way out.
Simplicity- wishing you a wonderful time in the great outdoors. Nature soothes the soul.
Going up to SF today to do some things, see a friend I have not seen in six months, and hear some evening music. We may get some rain today which we really need.
Peace to all this weekend!

I was born here. My parents married out of high school in Iran and got accepted to BYU in UT of all places. So a year later I was born in Provo and Bro 8 years later in SLC. Parents couldn't speak english very well so I learned farsi first at home until babysitters, then mixed it up.
In 77 when I was 13 we moved to Tehran. You get paid a lot for being educated and dad is phd in engineering so great opportunity, more than here, to live very well. My farsi wasn't good enough to go to Iranian school so I went to Tehran American School. Lots of Americans there at the time. Lots of fam there. Very social atmosphere as there are a lot of get togethers. When we first go there is was am/lunch/pm. Once parents got more into work and settled it was sometimes lunch and pms majority of the time. So much fun. They have nice houses with pools and I have lots of cousins my age. Loved it there. You'd find any type of market, radio station, tv station, etc. You want french? spain? russian? italian? I mean it was like living in all these countries as you go to the market and can find foods, toiletries, etc from all major countries including US. Tv and radio station was cool. I'd watch all these international channels and try to pick up on the languages. There were a ton of foreigners there and Iranians were very friendly and accomodating to them.
Then in fall of 1978 the opposition was gaining strength and americans were being told to leave. My school closed in Oct. Curfews, militant police on every block, shootings after curfew then came the arrival of Khomeini and all kinds of riots, protests, violence. We didn't live in the city itself but up farther north in the city but we still heard it and saw it on tv- that about 10 miles away all this stuff was happening. We'd lose power every night. I learned how to play gin rummy and most of our fam we'd all sit around the table every night by kerosine light and play. It was fun and cool for me. I wasn't scared nor was my fam really. They don't mess with people much who are well known and have money, and my aunts were in that category.
Even though we were doing very well over there it became no choice but to come back here because they didn't want to put me in an iranian school in like first grade which was the level I could read and write. Speaking and understanding I was/am pretty fluent. The problem became that my parents were dual citizens. Since both were university educated and a valuable asset, they weren't letting us go. It took 6 months of my aunt who is very well known (as is her husband) who have all kinds of contacts to get it to where me, bro and my mom were ok to go. By that time there was only 1 flight a week out of Tehran. We were in the middle of the revolutionary war. We were allowed one suitcase each, a set amount of $ and a rug each. That was it. Lots of stuff remained behind with my dad.
Now I was scared. Was he going to be safe or was he going to be punished for trying to leave. All logic and laws went out the window for awhile now. Everything, rules, changed daily. One day this is ok the next day. I didn't want to leave. I'm a daddy's girl. Bro was like 5 and it didn't click that we didn't know when or if dad was coming back to the US after us. I don't know the details but somehow 3 months later my aunt and her contacts were able to get him out of there and back to the US to us. Probably the happiest day of my life as I've had many but none would matter if my dad was stuck over there or worse as the torture crap was going on as was the hostage crisis on tap. Haven't been back since. Luckily everyone I'm close to (aunts uncles cousins grandparents when they were alive, etc) are all here and have been since late 80's/90's. Dad has family there and mom extended fam but they aren't as close to them as the ones who are living here. Back before it became so hard to get green cards mom and dad got the fam they could set up. My dad's sister he had applied for green card back in 2003 or something like that just got approved last year. So glad. Now with nutcase Trump at the helm and him red marking Iran, who knows what's next.
My fam that are there don't have it bad. It's not what you see on tv where all they show are the bad areas and unrest. If you have money there you are fine. There really isn't a middle class there, just rich, wealthy and poor.
So that's my story in a nut shell.

ha ha ha bb I heard you I only scare them but I could never really hurt them ha ha ha a barrel ? Nahhh I was adding hot pepers and I felt bad so nah I can't really hurt those guys even though they are annoying and they destroyed my roses

Will catch up and read more tomorrow but here is a photo of the sky looking west on my way down from Santa Fe tonight. It was amazing.

BB- this place has it's challenges with being more "second world" as we sometimes call it, but the landscape and sky here will do something to you that you cannot explain. I came here for the first time in 1982 on a cross country trip after college with a friend (whom moved here two years ago and always felt the same way).
Many say NM has no color, it's all brown because of less vegetation in the desert. But the rocks and the sky have colors like no other place. We have the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. Last night was one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. I am glad I took a quick exit on the way down to get that.
On my way in to town, the full moon was rising up behind the mountains here which was also spectacular. I was not in a place to pull off the highway and get a good photo, but it was the other side of what I saw with the sunset. Magical gifts from the earth and sky. And yes, very spiritual!
I had an outstanding day yesterday! And my project looks like it is finally going to be getting started too!

jazz I think NM is beautiful through your pictures I never really met anyone from there and I always love those colors of the desert.
Today I took a pain killer and went to do my spinning class. First in a week then I walk to a walking clinic and asked another dr. For a referral to another specialist. I should hear something this week. I am surprised that I haven't had any milk or eggs in 4 days now and so far I managed without. I have some inflammation and then started spotting so period is back on time this month.
I msg my manager and asked if I could go back to work Monday instead of Tuesday. I told him I rather take a day off at the end of the month for a Dr appointment and he said it is ok aparently there were a few prd issues this week so he is glad I can be back n schedule a day off later. When I researched all the dr at that hospital I learn that most are not on time. Wich means people say you get to your appointment and u must wait up to 2 hours before they call u in. So I figure I won't be able to pull it on a lunch hour?
I must say the fact that most likely I ll be sent to do more test before they can give me an option annoys the crap out of me but I wish when they do more test they could say the fibroids are shrinking? I honestly hope so.
I came Back from the gym and a long walk took a shower another advil and went to my bed. I am sad my 4 days off where such a bumb but at least I got to sleep and get some rest in the mornings. Insomnia but then I fall asleep around 3am and end up being sleep in the morning. Last night went to sleep at 2am then woke up at 5am and was not able to sleep again. It is mid night and I am starting at the celin.
Good night all
Hope you had a good weekend

hi friends
Humm weekend went so fast. Vacation is over
Did I little organization and also made food for the week which made me happy. I don't want to buy more food at lunch cuz I was thinking maybe that also contributed to my sickness lately I was buying food 3 times a week and who know what is on the food we but from food courts. I made pasta al pesto and instead of chicken I used portobello mushroom and it turned out wonderful. ah bb the apple cider is only to add 1 spoon to a cup of warm water along with some lime juice and honey and cinomon stik but you must be careful cuz apple cider makes u lose weight and you are already struggling to gain.
Oh the green thing is quarter of an avocado I added some lime juice it prevents it from going dark adeer u cut it . I also put some Gano la bar in the little space beside for a snak. Bb regarding the fibroid's I found that some people managed to shrink it by eating plant base foods. I also read this.
Some researchers sustain that plant hormones can counteract the increased levels of estrogen, which favors the appearance of fibroids. The hormones are present in beans, peas, seeds, wheat cereals, and in most fruits and vegetables. How to treat uterine fibroids By Aromatherapy A gentle abdominal massage can calm the painful symptoms and reduce tension. Make a massage oil by adding 4 drops of clary sage and lavender oil, 2 drops of lemon balm or rose oil, To 1 spoon of sweet almond oil or other cold pressed vegetable oil. To ease abdominal or back pain,.
I am massaging my belly every night with castor oil but I don't have the rest of the aromatic oils I ll try to get some this week.
I made lentils yesterday but I ll eat some tmw if I am hungry in the afternoon when I get back from work. I haven't made pesto pasta in a long time but I must say it tastes really good with the mushrooms. I used : [07-09, 3:40 PM] 😔: Organic pasta. Portobello mushroom. Green onions, Garlic
Cherry tomatoes
Pesto spices"basil"
Olive oil

It said 1/2 baking soda
1 tsppoon apple cider vinager
1/2 tsp on of tumerik powder.
1/4 ginger powder
Pinch of black pepers
1 tsp on of coconut oil.
I know it sounds gross lol but I did it this morning in a small glass of water and It was no so bad.
Next I will try to cleanse my liver and colon.
I am thinking something is making my body sick and only if I take charge I may have a chance to shrink what ever it is growing?

three is also some book out there. But I won't buy it. I think by changing my diet I shoudl change thing around. But here is what I found regarding the book.
Chapter 4 The Fibroids Miracle Book Quick Results Mini Program As following the full system can be a little overwhelming for some, or where timelifestyle constraints are an issue, Amanda Leto gives the option of following a shorter, less intense program. It will not yield the same results as the full program, but is an option for.
Women who, for whatever reason cannot do the full program. It can still give significant results though. Chapter 5 The Holistic Fibroids Miracle System As you might expect, this section is the largest and most important in the Fibroids Miracle book. It contains 157 pages and is split into 37 subsections. It takes you step by step through the required protocols including dietary changes, enhancing immunity, supplementation, lifestyle issues, thymus gland function, internal cleansing, detoxification, the candida link, stress management, replenishing friendly bacteria, exercise and sleep optimization. Most importantly, you are taught how to maintain the fibroidfree.
Environment and prevent fibroids growing in the future. The Fibroids Miracle book contains 4 appendicies detailing complementary treatments, details of the fibroids detoxification diet, the Ayurveda diet and how to perform the liver and gallbladder flush. You also receive a number of complementary ebooks on the following topics menu planning, sleeping soundly, understanding the phases of the female body and ultimate relaxation. Last but not least is the 3 months one to one counseling. You can email Amanda and the Fibroids Miracle team as often as you like and many email on a daily basis to discuss.
The specifics of your own situation and finer details of the plan. When completing this Fibroids Miracle book review, I have tried to give you some information as to what exactly is in the book, rather than just expressing my opinions. However, what I cannot convey is the high quality of the information included in the system. Written by a former fibroid sufferer, the system you are about to see is, quite simply, groundbreaking, and I am confident that you will feel relief that you have finally found something that will genuinely help you get rid of your fibroids.
The bottom line of this Fibroids Miracle review is that overall Amanda Leto's system is one of the most comprehensive and detailed books to Uterine Fibroids freedom available on the market today. This is with no doubt a very rare, unique and potently powerful Uterine Fibroids healing system that has very high success rate. However, remember that this system is not a magic bullet and if you are looking for a quick fix solution then this product is probably not for you. On the other hand if you are ready and willing to put in some work and make the lifestyle.

E- I thought you had a follow up apt on the 25?
0 -
E - can you call your ob gyn to refer you to a onco who's specialize in female organs?? that's what my ob gyn did. i am getting worried about you...
0 -
hi girlfriends. Thanks so much do not worry I am on top of things lol I have a few updates.
So I saw my family Dr who was on vacation. She was very relaxed she says is normal she says 80% of females have this issue there for I am normal . So I looked at her and said "you got to be kidding me?" She realized she was annoying me so she said. Nop I am serious but go see the specialist she will confirm the same. " then I said and the pain in my back and right lower abdominal pain? She said oh there could be many other things causing thar. Then she said. And you guys tell me what is it with my bad luck with Dr. Read what she said next.
"No doctor is going to treat nor remove a fibroid just cuz you want it removed" I said "why?" She said " in order to treat or remove it it must be monitored for several months , it must be at least as large as an orange , it must be interfering with your daily activities, it must be causing you animia. "
I said "you are telling me it must be worse before it gets treated?" She said "yes".
I took a deep breath and I said " you or no doctor has the right to decide when to treat a patient. You and no doctor are in my body to feel the symptoms I may be feeling every time I bend to get my underwear on .or by sitting at my office desk all day. I will not wait till this thing grows to cause another issue .if it is no cancer I have the right to know. At least I have the right to see a specialist and if I feel that specialist dismiss me I ll get a Seco d opinion. Then she said. The specialist will order more images in other to figure out if it is indeed a fibroid so by the time you get those done the 2 months will be done.
Then I said yes THANK you !!!!!
That is exactly my rush if I do not see a specialist and I sit around 2 months to wait for another ultrasound with a radiologist then at that time they will order more images and then instead of 2 months it will be 6 and then they will tell me oh by the way is too late we must take your God dame uterus out too.
I was so mad I told her.
You just watch how I will handle the specilist and my so call harmless 80% normal fibroids.
Then I got up and I told her, please give me a refill for my sleeping pills cuz I am not sleeping well either lol
She did and I left.
Now BTW
How brutal is for this dr to say that.
I really wish they were in my body .
But guys don't worry I am a crazy woman when it comes to tell dr where to go .
If this one keeps been stupid I ll tell her to take a hick too. She is overall good I think she was just too happy back from her holiday so she was not in the right mind to tell me anything sensitive she was just telling me basically don't worry keep watching it until it hurts more or till u cant take it .
Anyway I have been reading and found a few more tips but the only one I ll do is the baking soda which I always do since I got bc I stick to that one but here is what I found bb.
Here's a natural
Home Remedy for Fibroids #1... Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and Black Strap Molasses: This should certainly be your first remedy of choice for shrinking fibroids. Uterine fibroids only occur and grow in an acidic environment. So if you have fibroids, your body's pH level will be low (acidic) which is definitely not what you want. Apple cider vinegar and black strap molasses boost your pH level and make the body alkaline (opposite to acidic). In an alkaline environment, fibroids begin shrinking immediately. As a side benefit, the ACV helps with brown fat metabolism, so if you're overweight or suffering from cellulite, this will help with these problems as well. In addition, the black strap molasses is rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, boron, B6 and selenium, which are all vital nutrients for women's health.
So here's what you do...
Purchase some organic apple cider vinegar containing the "mother" apple. Make sure that what you buy still contains the mother as no other ACV's will work. Bragg's apple cider vinegar is the best for this. Also purchase some organic black strap molasses. Once again, this must be organic and it must be "unsulphured black strap molasses". No other molasses will work. Here's some reputable brands if you're interested... Organic Unsulphured Black Strap Molasses.
Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of black strap molasses in a glass of warm filtered water (it needs to be warm enough to dissolve the molasses). Drink this concoction 2-3 times a day on an empty stomach. (First thing in the morning and last thing at night are two of the best times). Or if you like, you can have the ACV in a shooter glass and the molasses straight off the spoon. It doesn't really matter how you do it as long as you have them every day!
Now, the most important part to this remedy is the time frame you take it for because this is where many women get mixed up. This is not a "prescription" remedy, meaning you don't just take it for a few weeks or months then stop. You take it for the rest of your life! You don't just want to get rid of your fibroids right now, you want to keep them away for good. That's what this remedy will do! You can back off on the dosage once your fibroids have shrunk and your symptoms have disappeared if you like, but don't stop with it altogether or those fibroids will slowly start to grow again.
Natural Remedy for Fibroids #2... Baking Soda: Whereas the first remedy listed here is a permanent (rest of your life) protocol, this one is only temporary. The baking soda is a very powerful pH booster, so it alkalizes the body very quickly. It basically gives you an "alkaline" shot (remember, fibroids shrink in an alkaline environment) which is important at the beginning when you're trying to reverse the growth of fibroids.0 -
here is the rest bb.
you do is mix a teaspoon of baking soda (Bob's Best is the best!) in a glass of filtered water and scull it down. Do this once daily after you've eaten. We do admit the baking soda doesn't taste the best, which is why you'll probably need to dring it in one hit. However, you only need to do this for two weeks so it's not so bad.
Natural Treatment for Fibroids #3... Lugol's Iodine: Both Dr David Brownstein and Dr Marcus Sircus recommend iodine for shrinking fibroids of the breast, uterus and ovaries. Iodine therapy (painting the uterus with iodine) was once the standard treatment in conventional medicine for reversing severe uterine fibroids. Studies have also shown that liquid iodine will shrink fibrocystic breast disease.
Lugol's liquid iodine is definitely the best and most effective iodine for reversing fibroids. In his book "Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It," Dr David Brownstein recommends you take 100mg's, or 16 drops of the 5% Lugol's iodine solution under the tongue in divided amounts to reverse fibroids (eg, 4 drops taken 4 times throughout the day). This should be done for 8-10 weeks before backing off to a dosage of 25-50mg's (4-8 drops) per day. You then continue with this amount indefinitely (permanently). Just make sure you purchase the 5% solution and not the 2%. Here's what it looks like... Lugol's 5% liquid Iodine.
Natural Cure for Fibroids #4... Milk Thistle and Maca Root: The estrogen hormone contributes to fibroids by stimulating unwanted cell growth. But both milk thistle and maca root work to metabolize and get rid of excess estrogen, which in turn helps to shrink uterine fibroids.
You can buy both of these herbs from any good health food store or online. Just make sure the maca is genuine maca root that comes from the Peruvian mountains.
Home Remedy for Fibroids #5... Matcha Green Tea: Green tea contains some very powerful antioxidants, particularly the catachin antioxidants, which have been found to inhibit and even shrink fibroid cells. Green tea is also a great anti-inflammatory and studies have shown it helps to reduce fibroid symptoms. Matcha green tea is by far the best and contains 137 times more catachins than regular green tea. For best results, be sure to drink 3-4 cups a day.
Natural Remedy for Fibroids #6... Herbs: Certain herbs are also terrific for helping to shrink fibroids and reducing the symptoms. Garlic, gotu kola, cayenne pepper, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon and dandelion are all powerful anti-inflammatories and contain some strong antioxidants. Ginger and cayenne pepper in particular help with excessive menstrual flow and menstrual cramps, so if you suffer with these make sure you include these two herbs and spices in your diet as much as you can.
And finally, don't forget to eat well. Plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds are the key. And be sure to stay well clear of all refined and processed foods and drinks. These foods mess with your hormones something chronic and will do nothing to help with your fibroids or their accompanying symptoms.
So hopefully these tips and remedies help you out0 -
E, BB - so no biopsy was preformed when there's a fibriod in the uterus?????

Just a quick update ladies. Had my 6 month followup on the imaging this am, and all is well. The breast imaging center said this will be the last of my six month follow ups with them, which I expected but so happy to get the confirmation! Back to yearly mammo and ultrasounds now, and won't be going to them again until next July pending anything I find on my own. Whoot whoot. I see my BS next Friday to go over those results and have my exam with her. MO the following week for that part.
I saw one of the radiologists that helped me during the initial biopsy period in 2012 (I had three total, two postive and one negative) was the one reading my films today. I really liked her and have not seen her since that time. She remembered me, and told me I looked really well, and also said everything looked good on the images. Felt like some things came a bit full circle on all this from where we began together in 2012. The imaging center and radiologist have been outstanding through everything from my dx to post care.
Feel very grateful to be in the home stretch on the five year follow up stuff. Grateful to probably be the healthiest I have been in years. Grateful for a good medical team.
June- are you feeling better from your flu?
0 -
that is great news jazz . It is so good to be only on the 1 a year check up.
I was always like that and it is the best . Now you just check if u feel anything you think that needs attention.
This is good. You go girl

Glad to hear good news on follow up visits. I have a 6 monther in 10 days with my bs who is my mammo as I had bmx with recon. I'm looking forward to 8/22 seeing my ps for the you're good to go after the leak I had to get my non-bc recon side lifted for symmetry and comfort.
And yeah, fibroids are the suck. I have a few 3 cm ones that can produce discomfort from time to time. Taking Tamox can irritate them so that to boot. I had asked my gyn about just taking it out, that it's not like it's going to go away esp since I'm on Tamox for 10 years (can't do AIs due to horrid se's) and she said even though it's laser it doesn't go without possible complications. I'm sure my being obese doesn't help and having been infected a few times now either.
I'm going to be having a colonoscopy in 2.5 weeks. My first one. Anyone been through this? I know I can't drive myself back as it is a minor procedure but do I need to have someone with me that even or will I be good to get around and such later that day.
Have a great weekend ladies.

hi friends.
Arista I never did one but my poor mom had to do one and I was with her all night at the hospital. It is best if you have help cuz it can make you very sick but best to wait for one of the girls to tell you.
I did an experiment last night and I am glad I survived lol
I decided to do a liver flush . I continue to have issues with digestion and some with skin reaction these days so I was reading about the toxins and then decided to do this. Also I ll book a hydrotherapy colon cleanse for next week. I must say this was hard but I think it ll help me clean some bad stuff which may be the cause for issues?
I ll let you know how I feel later today
So far I an just tired and sleepy cuz had a hard time with this through the night

Artista- I have had two colonoscopies to date, one in 2011 and one last fall. They found some of the pre-cancerous polyps the first time, so they put me on the 5 year plan. The last time I had none. If you are clean in there, chances are you go to 10 years.
Colonoscopies to me are like mammos in that they are one of the few tests available to screen for cancers that are available. So good to keep up with these so they can zap anything of concern before they grow into a bigger problem? They just require a bit more preparation.
The first time I did one I had to pay an OP co-pay. This last time, it was completely covered under ACA as preventative. Given the proposed changes, get it done sooner than later because who knows where the national healthcare plans will go.
My docs told me both times I needed a ride back but did not require anyone to stay with me overnight. Ideally, I think it is good to have someone there if you can, but for us single folks, not always possible unless you have a roomate or friend nearby. I don't have family around (and that is by choice) and finding friends to do an overnighter is pretty tricky. I usually just ask someone to call me later in the day to check in on me.
The prep part is really the difficult part of this process. It requires you to intake a lot of fluid to flush out your system. That begins the day before, and depending on the time of your procedure, can continue through the end of the day. So if you are working the day before, be sure you have good access to a bathroom. Both times I made sure I could do it when I was home (arranged with clients to work from home).
Prep experiences can vary. The first time I did it, I was finishing the prep the morning of and vomited some of it. That is not uncommon either, happpened to my sister as well with her last procedure. The last time I did it, they gave me some different prep solution and no problem, but had some asthma problems the next day (anesthesia and asthma triggering problems go hand in hand).
The procedure itself will have you semi-awake. You can actually watch them as they go through with the camera (at first it grossed me out, but then was fascinated by it). This last time, I was pretty deeply sedated and was awake but could not keep my eyes open.
Let me know if you have any other questions?
