Derm group said no results yet. Two weeks seems like a long time to wait for the results for a biopsy.

Good news on the work opp. That contract job is not filled and they are interested to talk to me. They are also willing to wait until Sept when I can get back to work (after the floors are done) and I can work from home a couple days a week. The location is an hour each way so to avoid wasting hours on unbillable commuting time, I am going to reduce that so I can work more from home and/or looking into options to take the train and shuttle up there too (I can work on my laptop while I am on the train). This could be a nice gig through next year  (2015) and have me working with some new folks in a new location without having to do any bigger traveling out of state. Fingers crossed this is the right work and I can get the money I need on an hourly basis.

Two major accomplishments today. I got my fridge cleaned out, old food thrown away and reorganized. I also finished cleaning the grout in my kitchen/dining area and it looks so much better now. Progress.

It is gorgeous today. Sunny with a few puff clouds passing over, low humidity and very quiet.

I am making creamy cauliflower soup as it is low in calories but tasty.

Hi ladies- I was out a bit later last night to a YES concert, so I am a bit tired today! YES was one of my FAVORITE bands during the 1970s and they were the first rock and roll band I ever saw in concert back in 1976 when I was 16 years old! It was a memorable concert too, one at an huge outdoor park in Hartford, CT that other friends were at and we still talk about it to this day. They were supposed to be here about three or fours years ago with Peter Frampton, but the concert got cancelled. Anyways, it was just SO awesome and they played all their best old music as well as something from a new CD that just came out too. They still have SUCH a good sound, and the concert was just awesome!

Got some errands done this morning and waiting to hear if the folks at the new gig possibility want to interview me soon. Fingers crossed.

Hey ladies- I just found out that spot on my scalp I got checked is basal cell carcinoma. I had a feeling it was, it has been hanging around too long and things that don't heal are usually a sign. Going to have it removed next Tuesday morning.

Glad you got your results and it will be taken care of Jazz. That did seem like a long wait. I had a mole removed 20 yrs age and was called with results within 5 days. I was frightened when I answered the phone because the person hesitated when giving the results.

Anyhow, yea on the second round of interviews for work.

E, I do remember that movie, but never associated Cha cha channing with it. Seemed so young at the time. The movie can't be that old though can it. Gosh my memory.

I think your line is going down in single gal thread history.

I'll let Channing in my garage anytime too!!!

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

    That made my night.

Walked 5K, ate dinner (my soup and cuc/radishes) and now sitting on my deck. I actually had to put a jacket on. It's breezy and shady in the back of my house in the evening.

Come sit by me.......and bring some hot tea or cocoa

Enerva- I have seen that movie, good flick.

Trying to figure out how to do everything I need to do next week now with this additional news and procedure on Tuesday. I now feel overwhelmed and over extended. I am going to opt out of a concert I was going to go with my friend to on Tuesday night. Something she wanted to do more than me and her niece is going too so hopefully she can find another person to go. I am juggling a lot right now, but have to simplify.

I am thinking about having an area on the top of my scalp that is going to be open and with stitches and going for an interview for this new work possibly next week. And also have a panel I am going to be on in Sept too. Well, I will see what things look like and then decide if I need to just do a new hairstyle or can put a headband to cover it.

I called my sister to just let her know (she never thinks I will have anything wrong with me) and her partner called back and talked to me about it but then started talking about some other bad stuff going on with someone I really don't care anything about, and I just had to tell her I could not get into all that right now.

This has me bummed out, although I know it is common and easily taken care of. Just another "cancer" now to deal with. I will go to yoga tonight and hopefully feel better.

OMG, sorry I missed your post about the results :(

Jazz I have no knowledge about skin cancer but I will keep fingers crossed it's no big deal.

I was submerged in the movie lol just finished.

;) that Channing in that movie stol my heart ;)

ok it is a small spot? Do they remove it and that's it? Do you need any treatment for it? I hope is a simple fix. :(

One thing that will bother you is the head shave but if it is a small area maybe you will manage wearing a band. I am sorry this crap is happening.

Enerva- it is the size of your pinky fingernail. Hopefully they won't need too much of a large area. I will have stitches and I will need to back and have them removed 2 weeks later. I tried a headband on the spot and think that is what I will do at least to start. But if I loose too much on top, a shorter hair style may be coming. But I can deal with that. Not the end of the world.

My understanding is that is all it will require- the surgery. I talked to some of my doctor community (sister) and also a friend here who went through residency with my sister and helped me through my surgeries in 2012. She is a retired derm and gave me some perspective on this. My sister also had basal cell on her face twice and also shared some good to know things. She said this procedure I am having is a very specialized process and may be expensive, so perhaps that prepares me for some out of pocket coming up. Hopefully the insurance will pay a good portion of it, right?

I am exhausted tonight. Tired from being out late last night and then this news today I am wrapping my head around. I was going to go to yoga but am opting out tonight and going to bed early. I plan to make tomorrow a better day.

jazz yes try to sleep well tonight, it was a stressful day for you, sending you hugs. I am sure it will all turn out ok.

    Good night

I may get together with my friend tomorrow but will try not to. The more I think about it the more I feel I better keep my distance from people this month. ;)

Hope life get some rest too

    Will talk tomorrow.

Milky- good to hear you got through one exam! I am glad to hear your nipple recon is coming along and give your body time to heal. It surely will do it in its own sweet time. The human body is amazing what it can go through and come back from.

I hope your travels to Calgary are safe. I feel a crispness in the air now in the mornings and know fall is right around the corner.

Hi ladies- I got some things in order around my skin surgery next Tuesday, and think I know what to expect. I cleared the rest of my day to come home and rest. I was going to go to one more concert with the friend I went to YES with, but told her to share the ticket with her sister or another friend. Fortunately, my friend had also invited her neice to go to, so I was not leaving her hanging. This friend has been through it all with me and is always very understanding about anything that comes up. She said "this is important, you need to get things taken care of." I so appreciate the understanding friends.

I traded some messages with my dermatology doctor friend. She said this process is state of the art, and was glad I was going to have it done this way. Always good to have that sort of endorsement. I will pack up some drinks, snacks and a book and plan to be there the morning and home resting the rest of the day.

I was supposed to visit the gyn that following day and moved it out to a date in Sept. Too much to deal with a day apart. They were really great about it when I told them what was going on and got me in on a Friday morning that works for me. Now I feel like I have some space around this to get through it.

I told a few other friends and sister about it, and have gotten some of the usual dismissive comments or even some jokes about my hair needing to be shaved or ending up in a mohawk. No empathy. But I know when this happens, I just stop talking to them. I told a couple others who were like "sorry, glad you are getting it taken care of" and then on to whatever they need to talk about.  I had to shut my sister's partner down yesterday because she immediately went into talking about a friend's problems and wanting to talk about the Robin Williams suicide. I have gotten better with telling her to stop it when she does this. I said "I called you to tell you about my skin cancer, I cannot talk about this other stuff right now."  Then she got very apologetic and asked what she could do to help. I said nothing, I just wanted you to know.

You know this movie too, the people that need an audience to talk about whatever is in their head regardless of what is going on with you. I am just going off line with a few folks until I get past this. I am grateful to have you ladies who understand dealing with health issues and being single.

No word on the work opp yet, outside of a follow up by the woman who manages that office to say she will keep me posted. Perhaps this won't move as fast as I expected, but with needing to get this procedure done, maybe that is okay too. I need to trust the right thing will come together in it's good time. My health is most important to take care of before anything else.

I am back on track working to get things done again and will go swim later today for some exercise. I may be here less this weekend, but wish you all a good day and weekend. I will check in by Monday and before I go have my procedure done.

Thanks for e-listening. Appreciate you all.

Oh E, I did see that movie long ago.

I finally fell asleep. Mind you I worked 12 hours and only had a 2 hour nap yesterday.

I am sure I don't know why I was able to stay up, however, I do feel pretty good this morning, having about a good 9+ hour sleep. ;)

    (((((Jazzy))))) Hope today is brighter.

E, I know what it's like to want to stay away from people, however, I'll say that even when I drag my feet, I often feel better for having pushed myself to go out and enjoy myself. Maybe you can set a small time limit and if you are having a really good time just keep going. In any case, enjoy your walk

I am heading out shortly for my walk. It is sunny and cool this am. Perfect walking weather.

Milky, enjoy your trip and time with your family. Sending healing thoughts and hope your new addition is to your liking. :)

Where is our little Life owl????

I haven't heard from BB since over the weekend. She had indicated she would be back online Monday. I don't want to bother her, but I may send a text This coming Sun or Mon.

BTW...of course, I made no effort for a week to contact CB and he sends me 3 text yesterday. Funny when you have decided you are over someone.........hahahahahahahahaha

Jazzy, I am glad you know who to surround yourself with and how to stand the boundaries you have created.

I am still working on some of that, but you really do help me see the bridge through the fog at times

Hoping for a peaceful and restful weekend for you and I'll be in your pocket Tuesday as well.

    Hugs all

Enerva- I watched a great movie tonight, a love story of sorts and recommend it to you and anyone. Annette Benning, Ed Harris and our beloved Robin Williams is in it too. It is called In the Face of Love. It is really good.
