    Hello all,

I had my 1 week follow up today and was told that he had to do a capsulectomy.  So, that is why I had so much soreness post-op and have always had issues with the left TE. Now, even with the drain tube still there it feels better!  It feels like the right side. My right side has always felt and looked fine (except after fills)   I don't go back until next week for the stiches and JP to be removed. Frown  But, hopefully, all will go smoothly from here on out.  I was told that we shouldn't wait too long before starting back with the fills. Oh, he did not remove any more at the time of surgery.  They took 120cc's out prior, so I didn't have to go backwards more than that.  Which I was happy about 'cause it takes so long to get the saline in but only took a moment to be removed!

Thank you all for listening!  Those of you that have had recent procedures I hope you all have speedy, uneventful recoveries and successful outcomes!

Chick, you're not scaring me. It is nice to hear all experiences good or bad. At least you know what to expect and what's normal or not. I do hope it subsides soon!

Bogue - I had my right TE put back in on 10/28 last year. I was very sore for awhile. It felt like I had a mastectomy again. My PS cut out alot of scar tissue and I had two drains after. Ihad the drains for about two weeks. I had alot of output due to the scar tissue removal. But it was bearable. I had to take pain pills longer than I wanted. After my drains came out I had a new pain. Right where the tip of the drain was. I think it was rubbing against the tissue. I had that pain for about a week. Again bearable, I just had to be aware of how I was bending over. That said it was easier than recovery from the double mastectomy (immediate recon). I think what I felt might have been what someone who had a single mastectomy w/no recon. Feeling ok now. I have other issues but that's another story.

Renn - I think we will be on the same exchange schedule. I'm figuring I'll be close to two years post BMX when I get my exchange.

SpecialK - wooohooooo drain free!!!! Oh what a feeling!!!

I met with my trainer today. We went through some stretches to see where I'm at and dome strength exercises. Also went through modifications for me. I'll meet with him again next Tuesday to run through a routine with the harder modifications to see how I do. Then I officially will start next Wednesday. I will take it slowwwwwww! But even after today I can see that it won't be so bad. My body will remember what I used to do. I felt like the tin man getting oiled up, lol! It felt good.

I'm working from home tomorrow. We have a heavy storm coming in and I have no car still. My coworker is at an offside tomorrow and I don't want to ask someone else to come get me. They would but I can just as easily work here. I called a furniture upholsterer too! He's coming tomorrow to give me an estimate on my couch. I want a RED couch!

Sipping a little gin and tonic right now. Once I start working out all alcohol will be out, nit that I can really drink right now anyway. My gin and tonic is more tonic and lime! Oh well, it feels good thinking I'm having a cocktail just the same.

I had TEs placed following double mastectomy 4 weeks ago. I have noticed that the right breast (the non-cancer one) is becoming a tan/yellow color while the other is ny normal fair pink skin tone. I am wondering if anyone else has had similar issues with breast discoloration following TE placement?

Chick - we are going to stay at Couples In Negril. This will be our third year in a row going there for Spring Break. We love it!!!

5th expansion went fine last Thursday. The arm issues are gone. Thank you antibiotics :) Expansion #6 is scheduled for Thursday. Things got a little tight during the expansion last week, but subsided quickly afterwards. I'm also hoping the upper pole will start to fill out a little more. It was depressing trying to find a bikini that worked well for one implant and one expander. I opted with something with some ruching in an effort to conceal the difference.

I've also got this pimple/ bug bite place on the BC side that is about to make me nuts. I just had a clean scan so I'm sure it's nothing, but the mind always goes to the possibility of recurrence with every ache, pain, lump or bump.

Bogue: I had a lot of scar tissue removed when I had my TE put back in, and had a LOT of output and so yes, a drain. I was also quite sore; in fact, reminded me of my BMX. Sorry to tell you that!

Fluff: Ouch! Glad the stone is obliterated!

ShaeG45: Congrats on not losing volume with the TE replacement!

Mrochon...at the rate I am going, yes, I'll be kissing the 2-year-mark by the time all is said and done! Hey, do we get a gold crown for being patient patients? A red couch sounds fun! (So does a gin and tonic) Good for you getting a trainer. That may have to be in my future!

bhnath: I have not heard of a yellowish cast in skin tone if you are usually pink; maybe someone else will come along who has heard of this. I'd call your PS and give them a head's up.

Sundermom: I know what you mean, every bump and pain is cause for worry! Have you had the pimple biopsied? That would put your mind at ease.

I am stressing. Just found a lump of some kind next to the implant under arm on e non cancer side. Texted my PS who is going to check it out thursday morning to see if it is related to his stuff. He has surgery on Wednesdays but said if he has free time, he will call and get me over. He knows me well and knows I am totallystressed.

I am definately going back on anti anxiety drugs.

Oh, fluff I hope the lump turns out to be nothing.

Yay, glad you are making progress with fills, sundermom.

Hope you are recovering well, Shae.

Bogie, this is a great group of women for support.

Now I am jealous of y'all & your VS bras! My husband calls my padded-on-one-side stretchy bra a "unicorn bra". Yeah. And people wonder why I am losing my mind. LOL.

And yes, thorough is a good thing! He biopsied something that he didn't like the looks of back in November & now he just did it again. I'm really grateful that he's looking out.

Bogie- This was my 4th surgery.  I had no problems with #2 or #3.  They did something different this time.  I had tons of stuff put in my IV but it didn't help much.

Fluff-My DH has passed kidney stones before.  I heard it is almost as painful as childbirth.  Hope they blasted the heck out of yours!  Hope the lump is nothing more then scar tissue!

Fluff: scar tissue is my bet on that one too!

Do you guys feel your "foobs" for lumps? Gotta be honest, I have not done that, maybe b/c I'm always still healing and not done yet. Guess I should start!

Renn I feel mine all the time.  I masage them.  Not since the fat grafting, but before that.  To try and keep them soft.

kidney stones? Ack. Hope you're feeling better Fluff and that you got in to see your dr. today. I feel my foobs all the time -- especially now that they are squishee...sometimes I wake up in the night and feel them just to make sure it isn't all a dream. LOL

Shae, I'm hoping for smooth sailing for you. I know it will feel great to get that drain out next week!

bhnath- I didn't experience that. I would call your PS and see what they have to say.

DLL - giggling at the thought of your unicorn bra.  It's good to laugh, right?

Sundermom - your vacation sounds heavenly. I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!

Chick-at my most recent surgery I told them my primary goal was to not throw up afterward. They put a patch on behind my ear, used for motion sickness. It can cause dry mouth (like it wasn't already after three hours of surgery) but I didn't get sick at all. HALLELUJAH.

So I thought after my surgery on 2/7 that I was done going to the clinic every week. HA so not the case. I have to go in shortly to have my belly button incision checked. I think it's split open and may be infected. It's alawys something.

MT I have the patch.  They threw everything at it they had and I still got sick this time.  Infact I still have the patch on.  I didn't get sick in sept or nov so not sure what the difference was.

Funny story about the patch and maybe I have shared it...sorry if I have...I had it put on after my BMX as a last ditch effort to stop throwing up.  It worked (which is why I request it now).  They told me to be careful not to touch it and then touch my eyes because it was dilate my pupils and make something think I was having a stroke.  Well I hung my head over the tub so my mom could wash my hair and the water must have washed over it and into my eye!  About 30 minutes later I was dilated and we were freaking out until my SIL who is a pharmacist figured out what had happened!  What a good laugh we had!

GIggling at your patch story! They warned us about it too. My husband refused to help me get it unstuck when I was ready to take it off.

I think it stinks that you have the patch and still got sick. So many things in life just are not fair.

Fluff- I just found two lumps in that same area; I think they are probably enlarged lymph nodes as I am dealing with LE but I am headed to the BS in Boston on Friday morning for her to take a look. I was just hoping to put this all behind me but I guess we will always be worried about every little bump...

Hello, Fluff, my thoughts and prayers... I hope it will be nothing,,

Special K , happy for you! And drains out tooo...I hate drains.Chick , I don't know, what grafting is, but I wish you the best...I hope you feel better.

I was at PS yesterday and he did not expand me, because I was leaking through Sunday, so he did not want to risk. He told me I stll have an inflammation, also told me to take Claritin because of redness. I have very sensitive skin, I even had Anafylaxis shock in the age of 30, which started as rash, and was increasing, because I still had to use allergen. He thinks redness is because of my sensitivity. I don't know anymore. I go to see him on Friday , already scared, what if it leaks again...

Renn - Gold crowns with lots of sparkles sound right to me!

mtnester - ugh, sorry for the anitbiotics. I hope you're feeling better.

Ok, so I had a small fill, 30ccs, 5 days ago. The area is turning dark pink again and itches like a mother...! When I sneeze it kinda hurts. Is this normal? The left side has no problems whatsoever. I'm beginning to think that this expander thing may not work out.  The skin on that side looks so tight. My left side is normal and pliable. Should I stop worrying and just suck it up?

mrochon-do you bruise easily?  Could it be a bruise?

Olgah-fta grafting is where they take smal amounts of fat from your belly or hips or thighs and "clean" it then inject it into your breat area.  For me it put it in mt pole areas to make a more natural slope.  I think it worked although I am all bruied up right now.

    MT-antibiotucs working?

    Hey there,

My gosh, so much happening in this thread!

Chick - I cannot believe you had that much bruising.  How is the soreness?  Any better?

Fluff - any word on that lump?  I'm sure it's nothing, but like you, I would check it out ASAP.

Mtnester - how much longer are you on the antibiotics for?

Ren - how are you holding up?

Olgah - hoping that the leak is slowing down to a stop!

Sundermom - glad to hear the fills are moving forward.

Shae - I hope you are doing okay.

Special K - how are you feeling? Happy the drains are out!

DLL-now, do you need to go back for any more implant fills or are you good to go?

Bhnath - yes, I did have discoloration as far as yellowish tint.  For me, it was the end-stage bruising thing.

Michelle - how are you doing this morning?  Has that pinkish tint gone away and the itching, too?  I was told that pink is okay and red is not.  But even with that said I would still call to make sure.

On my end, I'm started to get a lot of nasty headaches from the muscles in my shoulders and neck.  I know it's the way I am holding myself and sleeping.  Ugh........ I have a great massage therapist but haven't seen her since the BMX.  I can't lay on back flat, on my stomach or even on my side hurts.  I have no idea how she can help me -- will give her a call today because these headaches are miserable and make me really nauseous. I swear, it's always something!

    Take care,

I am feeling a little better today.  I took a shower, yeah!  I am going to try to go for a walk later.   The bruising is incredible in my opinion.  At least I can get in and out of bed/chair without groaning!  I'm really happy with the way they look though.  Can't wait to try them out in a bra.

I stopped the pain pills, just tylenol.  The percocet was messing with my stomach too much....

Woot! Glad you are looking (& feeling) good, chickadee!

Hope you get some relief, Tatina. I only have 250 ccs in the adjustable implant now, so I'll be doing fills for probably the next couple of months.

Hope antibiotics do the trick, MTNester.

mrochon, hope the tightness/pinkness is resolving.

Olgah, hope you have no more leaks!

Ginger, hope your lumps are nothing as well.

Chick, I always get the patch and anti nausea meds in my iv. I still puked in the bushes outside the hospital lol. I was rushing to get out of there and probably should have hung out for a little while more, but there was a lady who was freaking me out. My PS also wrote me a script for an anti nausea suppository that I use for about 2 days after coming home. It makes me tired, so I get really good rest for those 2 days.

MT Nester, take those antibiotics! Hope you feel better soon.

I'm still in my "wait for 3 months" so the skin can stretch period. Exchange surgery still on schedule for May.  I'll let you know when I find out the date. I'm back to jogging, biking, spin classes, etc... Trying not to let any of this get me down.  I'll be stockpiling the Hibiclens and Mupirocin as we near the exchange date, that's for sure.

Saw the PS today. He thinks it is a lymph node issue of some sort. He saw me after hours, so called my BS. She is in surgery all day tomorrow, but told me to come to the office at 8:00 and she will see me before she leaves and get any xrays they need to get. Im a wreck. Trying to prepare myself for the worst, but hope for the best.

I sawmthe lyphadema PT the other day for evaluation and she doesnt believe I have it. She too lots of measurements and we will check it periodically but overall thinks it is fine.

What worries me, is that if it is an infected lymph node, I would think my white cell counts would be way off, but they were perfect at herceptin. So....in general, I am preparing to hear bad news.

On a slightly funnier note, my PS admired his tatoo halfsies. Lol! Told him under different circumstances, I might take some time and have a mutual admiration party, but just wasnt up to it.

He gave me a hug around the shoulders at which point I was focused on not bursting into tears until I reached the car. He is just so cute.

    Fluff, I'm sorry to hear you have to go in there tomorrow but I'm glad your BS can see you before her day gets going! I hope she puts your fears at ease. Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best is the best we can do. Sending you calm thoughts tomorrow. After which you will be able to relax and fully enjoy PS's comments! And handiwork! ;-) {{{hugs}}}

In delayed healing news, the scab on my pin hole came off after my shower this AM, and to my horror there is now a tiny hole in my incision. I have been down this road before and have never been successful in healing a hole. My tissue surrounding that area is very thin. It is still not built up underneath. How long does this take? I can't even entertain the idea of a lat flap or other involved surgery. Seeing PS on Tuesday.

Renn I'm sorry you're having these healing issues. My heart goes out to you. You are so strong and positive and inspiring. Keep your chin up. I can't believe all that we have to go through, both mentally and physically. We may not feel like it sometimes, but we are so strong to have endured what we already have. Fluff, thinking about you and praying for some good news. Glad you can get in early this morning and hopefuly put your fears to rest.
