    Suzannah I love you too.

I am at the hospital, thank God. I drank the barium drink about 30 minutes ago, so 15 minutes to go for the blood work and tests. When I got here I found out my doctor ordered 3 ct scans, chest, pelvis, abdomen. As soon as I know something I will post if I can. I don't have wifi, so I am using the hospital's guest access. My doctors office is across the street, So, if he wants me to come directly to his office(no free wifi) then I won't be able to post till I come home.

    xoxo,

    Kate

Kate, I am thinking of you and hope you get all good news.  Just take care, you did right to talk to your doctor and come for the scans.  Be well hon.  I'll be watching for updates.  We're cheering for you at my house!  The dogs and cats have all their paws crossed.  :)

Kate, hoping you get some relief! Just read back the posts I missed. Time for some answers! Fingers crossed that you get them and some relief asap.

    Hugs!

    Hi Janis,

So cute that the cats and dogs have their paws crossed too. Thanks so much for your support.

The 3 CT scans are over, and I am in the waiting room. They want me to wait while the radiologist reads my scans, and phones my doctor. My MO is across the street. If they tell me to go to his office it is probably not good news. If I have to go to his office I won't have free wifi, so I won't be able to post till I get home. I know my friends here are worried, so I will post as soon as I can.

    xoxo,

    Kate

Hang in there Kate.  My kitty Bella is on my lap, she is cheering you on!  This must be so difficult Kate.  I am sorry you have to go through this.  I sure hope you don't get any bad news.  We're thinking all good here.  :)

They just said I am free to go, which means it is not serious, but how will I get relief? Thank God it is not a pelvic blood clot etc.

I don't understand Kate why they aren't helping you with the swelling.  Isn't there anything they can do for that?  As painful as it sounds I would think they could help you.  How can they expect you to get around when both of your legs swell?  I hope your MO can at least help you with that!  I am glad you didn't get bad news. :)

Kate - I have not been on here for a bit. I missed all the excitement!!! My goodness things can change in a moment. I am so glad you got to your dr and got some tests run. Are they saying you need to be at home with your feet up? I can not imagine that this is normal. Are they sure it is not your body reacting to chemo? I have been thinking about you and how great you looked in your skirt...and now this. Well I am in your pocket for sure. I will have to check in every morning like I was doing. This thread moves so fast you snooze you loose.

Kate, such good news, I'm so relieved! I share the others' concerns, however, that you've not been given any relief. I hope your doctor will take some time tomdiscussmthis with you, and I hope you insist that he does-channel brookside.

Gigil - You are right about the mold etc. I went in to the den today and opened the windows and door that goes to the patio. That darned glue smell was really strong. The furnace room is right under the den and there is no ceiling in the furnace room. The den is hardwood and this house is so old the fumes are coming through the wood floor. It is going to be along summer. Lucky for me I never use that den much. My boyfriend does when he is here. It has a denim sofa and rustic furniture so it is like a man cave. I shut the door and put a sheet under it so most of that smell stays in there. The windows are open in that basement room but good grief....I am so dizzy. Regardless of that I still went to PT for strength training on my legs. If I don"t do that I will be using a walker. Not this girl. So dizzy and with a migraine I went to PT. The guy just looked at me like I was nuts. I told him after Sarcoidosis and BC I can handle anything. Bring it!!

Thanks for the info on PT billing. I will check it all out. How can they limit your needs to 18 visits a year...why is that the magic number. I will fight. My PT coach said that sometimes they will approve the therapy if it is done at a hospital as an out patient. Well the only place here is up the street and I used them one other time. Not very good. Why should they get all the money. Ok let me get off my wagon. With my house all messed up I am ready for a fight. Yell

Glad to hear you were free to go, and didn't have to go to your doctor's office for bad news, but he should maybe have had you over there to help you figure out what to do about the swelling.  You need some help to move that fluid out of your legs and feet.  Hoping to hear something soon, and especially that you hear something soon.

Bunkie I am happy to hear you are in fight mode.  Good for you!

I haven't been on here much either.  My son got awful news about Will, advanced stage cancer.  He told me on Mother's Day.  The oncologist said chemp probably wouldn't help and only gave him 3 weeks to live.  Poor Adam and Jen are beyond devastated.  He can't talk about it, he sent me an e-mail.  My heart os breaking for them.  To some people a dog is nothing more than a dog.  Others, myself included, adore our dogs like children.  So I have been bummed out all week.  We need some really happy news here.  :)

I am having my stomach scope tomorrow, we can have a pocket party.  I can't eat or drink anything until after, and I will be really hungry after fasting so we need some really good stuff!

Janis, so sorry to hear about your son's Will.  Dogs are part of our family too.  We had to put our dog to sleep a little over a year ago, and we haven't been able to take the plunge again.  My heart goes out to all of you.

You will have a pocket party tomorrow.  I will bring chips and guacamole and some margaritas!  Let's really live it up because you will be done with the darned thing and feel very relieved, I am sure.  We will be there in your pocket just waiting to whoop it up with you when you walk out of there.

Aww Janis, I'm so sorry about will. There's no such thing as"just a dog" when it's your dog, and all of us dog owners feel for your son and wife.

In your pocket for your scope tomorrow, let us know as soon as u can how you've fared.

Gigil I just talked to my son, they decided to try chemo and Will had his first treatment today.  His red blood count is up to 39 from 28.  Mid 40's is normal for a dog so that is encouraging.  I am so sorry you lost your dog last year.  I have lost two to cancer.  I understand.

The pocket party sounds like it is off to a great start.  Chips and guacamole are my favorite.  Margaritas too.  I haven't had one in a few years.  Bring plenty of fixings please!

Gigil and Susannah thanks so much for understanding.  I just talked to Adam, they decided to go with chemo and Will had his first treatment today.  Hopefully it will help.  His red blood count is up and the vet was very encouraged by that.  One day at a time, one fragile step at a time.

GigiL I love your snacks.  Chips and guacamole are a favorite of mine.  And margaritas?  Perfect!  I haven't had one in a couple years and look forward to that.  Bring plenty of fixins!!

    Hi Janis,

I forgot to mention that my left leg is no longer swollen. It was all day yesterday but elevating it has made it better. I have an email into my Dr. regarding a lymphyedema therapist. My left leg is still as bad as it was yesterday, but I am so grateful the scans were negative.

    xoxo,

    Kate

Kate that is really wonderful news about the scans.  I hope you can get lymphedema therapy or some resolution that helps during that swelling.  Hugs Kate.....it will get better.  :)

    Hi Bunkie,

My dr. is saying to elevate my foot, higher than my heart, when I am home, but he wants me to walk on it too. He said something happens to the muscles if you don't walk on it. He also thinks the ugly cancer cells are fighting with the chemo. They don't want to be killed, but he said that by the end of june those ugly cancer cells will be killed, and I will have relief. Thanks for being in my pocket.

    xoxo,

    Kate

Sab and Suzannah thanks so much for your support. I am going to get an answer from my Dr regarding a lympydema therapist. I emailed and asked if he knew one, and would it help. I also asked if he wants to see my leg, because it is more swollen than he saw it on Friday.

Bunkie, So sorry about the glue odors, and sorry about your migraines too. Proud of you for going to PT today even though you had problems

Hi Gigil, Not his fault that he couldn't see me today he was booked solid. He is one of the best MO's in Los Angeles, and booked well in advance, and has very long hours. I have an email into my doctor regarding a lymphydema therapist. Does he know one, and does he think it will help. I am hoping to get answers for some relief before the end of June.

Janis thanks for thinking of me when you have so much going on yourself. Chips etc and marga rita's sound better than wine for your pocket party. I will bring steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas.

Kate the fajitas will go perfectly with chips and guacamole and margaritas.  Excellent choice!  My favorite is chicken fajitas so I know I am going to love this party!

Will might just surprise us all.  Adam called just a bit ago, Will had his first chemo today.  The doctor thinks he handled it well and hopefully won't have any major SE's.  Lots of cheers to you Kate and my wonderful 'granddog'.

Janis, We are dog people too.  My German Shorthair Milo is sleeping right next to me this minute.  He is between 14-16 and I confess that sometimes I lay my hand on his chest at night to see if he's still with us.  We have a younger lab too.  My dogs have helped me through plenty of hard times, and I am so sorry about Will.

Hmmm.  My vegetarian enchiladas will be too messy for a pocket party.  I think I will bring....the pinata!  Filled with chocolate treats so that we can celebrate your scope being done, and good results.
