Redheaded.... Not me, I LOVE presents.....let's just wake up on Christmas morn......Tehehe.

Want a cute kitty christmas story? My cat Oliver, 12, knows that he gets a present on Christmas; kitty treats which I feed him from my chair in the living room till he is totally full. It's apparently like getting breakfast in bed or some other decadent treat to him. In years past, he has occasionally nudged a few packages under the tree, and maybe taken a small bite out of a piece of wrapping but has never bothered the tree itself nor destroyed packages. Well, apparently I've got a cat who just can't wait for Christmas. He's been rabbit punching all the packages and otherwise destroying them, so we picked them up. Then he started batting the ornaments off the lower branches. So......I decided to give him christmas early. Several mornings ago I sat in my chair and fed him his treats. He was happy as anything. And, apparently, Christmas is over according to Oliver because he hasn't bothered the tree again. I think I'll try putting some packages under it and see what happens. What could be better than TWO Christmases?

    Happy Holidays everyone....

So cute, Sew! I guess kitty needed his comfort food. Reminds me of Auntie Mame, "We need a little Christmas, right this very minute."

Hope all the kitties and pups are behaving and everyone has a wonderful Christmas (and/or Channukah) season!

Sew, what a cute story about Oliver. I think he had a good early Christmas!!

Janis, so wonderful to hear from you. I hope you are well and have a wonderful Christmas.

Joan, Thanks for asking about my kitty. I actually found him and he was back at the emergency clinic last Sunday morning. I then had to take him to his regular vet Monday night and They hospitalized him till Tuesday evening. Apparently he had a bad UTI(urinary tract infection). He was given a shot of long term antibiotics and some fluids under his skin. He was a different cat when I got him back. I am so glad he as all better. Even if it costs a lot. We will pay it off soon.

I've been busy and haven't posted lately either. My hubby and I finished most of the Christmas shopping this weekend. Got the Christmas tree today. I dragged it inside myself while hubby was at work. My job isn't great but it's there.

I had an interview Friday. It went great. I hope to hear from them soon. The Dr saw my resume on Indeed and was impressed and emailed me. I couldn't believe it. Sounds like a great place to work. I would be working strictly with this Dr and scheduling her procedures etc, rooming patients calling patients with results but they also have a bone density machine in office and would be doing those on Fridays.

I'm happy the kitty is feeling better, but yikes, what an expense!

The (potential) new job sounds great. Your skills are so wasted on all that telephone work. I hope they hire you and I double hope they give you a nice big raise.

Josie - glad kitty is better. Good luck with getting the new job. Sounds like a good one.

Sew - cute story. Our fur babies are so special.

Janis - good to hear from you, Hope things are okay with you.

I've been busy too. Done with Christmas shopping save one for DS's babies momma. She and DS had a big fight Sat night. Not sure yet what happened but son said she was trying to take his sons from him? Idk if that means she is planning to move to Wisconsin with her mother but make no mistake I will find out. He seemed calmer yesterday. DH and I went to see Star Wars. Good movie but I'm not a big fan.

Going to lunch with one of my brothers today. He and SIL are going to Atlanta for Christmas and then to Tampa to their beach house. The beach would be nice. Temps are getting warm here again. Christmas Day n the 70s.

Hope to spend a holiday soon with daughter and grandkids in Chattanooga. Haven't been there since oldest one graduated from HS. She is in her second year at Furman. She is doing well and has her first real BFF. Unfortunately he has drinking issues big time.

We are going to Mass Christmas Eve and have the babies Christmas evening. DH's family Christmas is Dec 27. Oh and another family and friends football game Dec 26. I may be the lone family cheerleader on the sidelines. Brother's son couldn't play in the Thanksgiving one so having another one. Never done this before.

My ND Irish play Redhead's OSU Bucs Jan 1. Wish we could go but too far and expensive. Did go see them play in the MCB in Nashville last season. Beat LSU. Had a great time. Anyway go Irish!

Hope we can hear from our buddies who haven't posted in awhile. Missing you guys.

Happy Holidays everyone. Have to stop eating so much- not maybe in 2016!

Josie, hugs and prayers to you about your cousin (horrible at any age, but she's so young) and about your kitty. We have 4 cats and 1 is diabetic and we have them all eating high protein (expensive) food. Last week, I spent more on cat food than gas.

I was asking about the aloe - have to ask the rads nurse. I'm having redness BEFORE rad treatment; I used the aquaphor before and am having a reaction to it, breast is red, swollen and itchy. Fri. was my 2nd rad and I have to take antibiotics and anti-inflammatory until starting again on Mon.

I can't remember who posted what right now - sorry, even though I'm Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas, I just want to be done working for this week, and who wouldn't like to be done with rads already? It's taking up so much of my time and energy. Weepy and angry today.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas :-)

lindab-aquaphor is something some people do react to... Cetaphil has some of the same ingredients as the Aquaphor.

Calendula cream from a health food store is good stuff---So is Vani-cream if they will approve it----check with the RO staff first.

Hello all. Josie, congrats to you on the new job! Very exciting way to start a new year.

I can add a vote for the calendula (by boiron) too, it smells lovely, great texture and works. No parabens, no grease.

Our Hanukah came and went without much fuss this year, so very busy at work and no little kids around (only one big kid left at home, and she's nocturnal so we don't see much of her.) Whenever dd the elder can make it home we'll make some latkes and exchange gifts. We are on our own family calendar and it suits us!

To each and every one of you who celebrate I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy year ahead. Bless you all and thank you for your unflagging support and good cheer.

Josie Sew, Oliver is gorgeous.  We have to hide all the doggie Christmas gifts until morning.  Today they had to wait for us to get ready.  Kitties got a few goodies too so all of the furkids had a great morning.

Love and hugs to all, hope you all have a very special day.

Thanks for all the congrats on the new job everyone. I'm excited for the new opportunity. I couldn't believe it but the lady who I'm replacing is good friends with my nephew's wife. She told me today at our family gathering that they interviewed someone else that had more experience but liked me better.

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates . Happy Hannuka SAB and anyone else I missed.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. A new year is on the horizon! Glad to read and catch up with everyone, and welcome new friends. We have been busy here making a happy Christmas for the kids and grandkids. We hosted this year in our little bungalow on the edge of the golf course on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota. Everyone loved it, including my ex-husband of 45 years and his wife. We share a son, and three grandkids. My husband is a gracious man. I got to enjoy the evening with my high school sweetheart and my lifelong partner. It was interesting. We had a very nice time. Yesterday I was up early, cooked a prime rib meal, cleaned up afterward, packed and drove five hours to our place in the city (Minneapolis) to get ready to fly out to Florida tomorrow.

Brookside andSEW, my husband's life has been changed by having his sleep apnea diagnosed and treated. I am considering having a study done myself. So glad you found that! Josie, your haircut is very attractive. So glad to hear about your new job, and also that it seems you are feeling so much more power in your professional life. Sorry to hear about your family's health challenges.

Joan, good to hear from you. I miss our talks. Diane, what a lovely thing for you to do for Christmas. We bought gifts for two teenagers. It was fun fulfilling some of their wishes. Tough to realize so many kids just ask for basic needs. Hi to everyone else, and Happy New Year. Another year of challenges, joy and victories!

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year...
I love hearing how others are spending the holiday season - a busy time for most of us.
I spent today on the sofa with Hattie-our kitty.  Late nights, family drama, too much driving...(yawn)
Josie, congratulations on the job.  It seems like you have learned a lot and gained confidence the work you do.  I hglope this next position offers a better working space with fairness and flexibility.  Oh, and a few extra dollars, too!

    Gigil,have a good trip.

    Falling asleep....more tomorrow!

Have a good trip Gigi. My brother and SIL own a beach house in Tampa. Saps. They are there now.

I feel bad we didn't buy our daddy lab Christmas presents but DH said everyday is Christmas for him. We had dinner out twice this week - anniversary - 29 years - yikes and Chrustmas dinner with DS so pup was recipient of big steak bones!

Last night was Christmas with DH's family. A lot of people and babies. New twin boys made out like bandits as did DS's GFF's girls. Thought that was really classy of DH's family to include the girls. They are 5 and 2. We did the Secret Santa for the adults. Always fun. Mass confusion but still fun. FIL doing well at 91.

DS was thrilled with PS4. Completely surprised. We hadn't planned on spending that much $ but he never asks for anything. He gave me a cool ND shirt and gift certificate to nail salon. DH got tools and gift cards. I have so many Starbucks cards may not have to pay for coffee for months. DH bought clothes for me but had to exchange because he bought extra small. Not fitting me. DD sent adorable baby toys and clothes, gift cards and sent me beautiful necklace and earrings and t shirt. She has good taste too. Sister sent pajamas for me and gift cards for all of us. Spent way too much money. Gave GFF a gift card.

Keeping our Christmas decorations up until next weekend. Love how festive the house looks.

Hard to believe Christmas has come and gone.

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Diane

    Good Morning ladies.

Josie, congratulations on your new position! What a wonderful Christmas present and a great way to begin the New Year.

Anyone hear from Cindy? Seems she has been MIA for quite a while. I am sure this first Christmas without her husband was tough on her. Anyway, I know it was tough on me without my Dad.

Sew, I had to laugh about your kitty Oliver (who btw is beautiful!!) and his gift. Simon, my beautiful sweet kitty found his under the tree too and was tearing into the paper so we gave it to him early! His was freeze dried chicken treats because he is a diabetic and he loves those things with a passion even though I give him some twice daily when he gets his insulin (more accurately when I test his blood sugar which is the only way he will let me poke his little ear poor baby..lol) so obviously, he can never get enough of them.

Janis, Sab, Charger, Joan, Brookside, Gigil, Diane and all of you, hope you had a wonderful holiday and that your New Year is as peaceful and healthy and wonderful as you hope it will be. Hugs to all! Have to run as am at work as usual...LOL xoxo

Queenmom, you're right - I can't wear wool either; too itchy. I started back to rads yesterday, not sure how many visits yet.

The weather was horrible yesterday, so I asked to work from home today.

Josie, congrats on the new job! Exciting for you. Keep us posted on how it goes.

DH made me latkes twice for Hanukkah and got me Christmas presents, too. He bought me a new computer keyboard, a CD/DVD storage tote and Fanny May Mint Meltaways.

We don't give our 4 kitty boys gifts anymore because 2 of them think everything is a toy - milk rings, socks, pens.

April, 1 of our cats, Buddy is also diabetic. I tried to control it by food in the beginning, but he's doing so much better on the insulin. Here's a picture of him sleeping.

Gigil,Joan,April,LindaB, thanks so much for the congrats on my new job. I knew it was getting bad enough that it was time to go. It's just a miracle this Dr saw my resume and emailed me. I'm excited and hope this one works out better.

My oldest DD is in a borderline abusive relationship. I may just have to drive 3 hours to the lake to help her move. He's pretty crazy. Can't go into detail but it's bad. My DH has to work so I guess I'm going by myself. Don't worry I'll be careful. She just needs help moving her bed and TV. Luckily she didn't move all her stuff down there. I just found out how bad the situation was after Christmas. He even tried to cut her battery cables to prevent her from leaving her parents house. Apparently his parents relationship is just as bad.Wish me luck.

Josie, physically trying to keep someone from leaving by, for instance, damaging their car, is more than borderline abusive. It is a serious step that follows a process of lesser, but worsening, crossings of usual boundaries. Often, the earlier words and actions are so subtle that they are completely overlooked until the problem escalates. Please google, "signs of emotional abuse." You'll find a list of problematic signs/behaviors that you and your daughter might find pretty durned helpful.

If there is any chance the lout will be there when you go to pick up DD, do not hesitate to ask for a police escort. I'm sure this guy loves her (or thinks he does) and would never hurt her, but it seems he does not have good strategies for handling disappointment..

I agree Brookside.I do plan on having my phone handy at all times if it escalates.l don't know how she plans it but she's half way waiting for an argument so it would be logical for her to say she's calling it quits . I guess in hopes he doesn't freak out to bad. And yes he is emotionally abusive.

I don't want to go into detail because it's a public forum but there's more to it than the car battery.

I know this forum is for radiation recovery and I apologise since this is so off topic.

Mostlysew, my Buddy is adorable. He's the one with diabetes and my favorite of our 4.

Josie, hope you got your dd out of that situation and that she doesn't go back. I've heard some abused women have such low esteem that they stay in bad relationships. Sending you hugs, courage and strength to get through this. I think this group is about support, in whatever form it takes.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year. I want more joy, silliness and a vacation this year.

I echo Linda’s wish for everyone to have a happy and healthy New Year. Looks like I may finally be on the mend: still coughing, but easier breathing now that my PCP’s on-call doc put me on doxycycline and a Medrol Dosepak. (Now I have to be careful not to let the munchies get me--always a problem when I’ve taken prednisone). No fever, and my phlegm is clear (TMI, I know, but it’s a sign the cold may finally be on its way out). DH will get home in time to be the dinner host over at B’way Cellars if I’m too wiped out to walk over there in the cold. (I did get a new insulated leather long parka and a bunch of knitted berets as presents, so I will be able to bundle up. I’m hoping there will be some street parking: seeing as how they’re not doing course-by-course wine pairings this year, I doubt I’ll even be having a full glass of wine tonight--gotta save my alcohol allowance for Dom Perignon at midnight!
