Yes, that's interesting, more radiation doesn't cause flare ups. Dental xrays are digital now but they still put the thyroid shield on? Mammos are digital too. I think I've had a lot of radiation, too late to control that. A CT last for seven years or something. I'll try to find the link

Wow, the fabric seems a great price, especially when compared to regular cotton fabric which I routinely spend $12+ per yard. I'd say go for it.....guess you'll have to pay for shipping though....

Shipping can't be that much I'll let you know. It's light, one yard. Shipping by USPS is $4.28.

Mostly Sew - all I have to do is double it up and it will be 100+spf? There are yards that are free and ones that are only 50 cents, but I chose the four way stretch in the cart link. Oh so maybe I won't need expensive tops?

I've no idea, all I can find is that fabric is rated as UPF and it doesn't go higher than 50+ Apparently sun screen uses the spf rating and can go higher...... I think that fabric is worth a try as it's the best you can buy.....and yes, try doubling it, who knows maybe you've found a new way to beat the upf ratings or something. I sure hope all this works but it sounds like it should.

    Thanks for the well wishes!

Tomorrow is surgery hysteroscopy ( camera into uterus) with D & C.

Not sure what keeps cooking with RRD. I'm light red all the time. If wearing a bra, it keeps the heat in & on even just a warm day it will get redder. once the itching starts it is time to get cooled off. If it gets Hot outside the RRd will get Bright red & after the itching comes the deep sharp pains. I've learned not to let it get that far. So bouncy bouncy braless on the tractor mowing the lawn only in the morning.

70charger yesterday I was red at 7:30, put on a sunscreen I had sitting around, NO-AD. It has avobenzone as first ingredient. Got it at Walmart. Came back an hour later, it was warm out not hot but bright and sunny, and what do you know but the red is lighter. I put it on a few times later and it's like it's clearing up, but still fluidy. Don't want to speak too soon, knock wood, but it's defintely helping.

Good luck tomorrow in surgery. It'll be fine

Good luck, Charger. Hope the new doc is brilliant and finds totally normal tissue. The hysteroscopy is interesting. I had one, could see the entire lining of my uterus on the screen. I'd expected to see spongy red stuff, but no. No periods seems to equal no red stuff. My uterine lining was smooth white, with blood vessels here and there. The polyp was absolutely clearly visible and easily removed. I know you'll be out because of the D&C, but maybe you can ask them to show you pictures?

I also had radiation as a baby, because of a supposed too-large thymus gland (tried to be a SIDS case but my parents were right there). They even gave me an extra dose "just to be sure." Today my thyroid is healthy, but I do have nodules/goiters, probably because of years of practically zilch iodine in my diet. I make sure to add iodized salt now, whether I think the meal needs it or not (usually saltless is fine for me, taste-wise). My ENT/Head and neck tells me that after 20 years the risk for thyroid cancer is nil. I always make them use a thyroid guard for x-rays, and was totally shocked when they told me at rads that the zaps they use are so strong that , A. There is virtually no scatter, and, B. The zaps need a foot or more of concrete to stop them, so they would just laugh at the teeny collar, and, most importantly, C. The minimal barrier of the collar could actually serve to create scatter.

spent the night in local ER. vomiting, chills. Stress brought out massive trembling. Stress also brought on migraine like pain & pressure in right eye. Eye vision is cloudy, will not dialate, staying in pinpoint mode. Now have to go to hospital in Edmonton to have it checked out. Geeze!

Yikes! Here's hoping for a speedy return to normal, so speedy you're already there way before you get to Edmonton. How far is that hospital anyway?

So sorry, Charger whatever you're experiencing it must be from the surgery, your meds, maybe an infection from the surgery? Please keep us updated if you can!

back from the hospital (1 hour away) have to go back again tomorrow. Stroke ruled out. Have a type of Gloucoma. Pressure in left eye was 13. Right non dialating eye was 56! After several pills & drops they did laser surgery. Still only down to 30. So we try again tomorrow. Now I have a big hole in my eye. They will also do the other eye as it too will soon seal up & not drain..Get your check ups done ladies. Thanks for the support.

Hi charger, good to hear you are ok. Did you know you had glaucoma yesterday? Sounds awful. I get a medical eye exam every year. Will you be able to see ok?

Did not know. Been 2 yrs since my last check up. They say I also have cataracts just beginning so in a few weeks they will do that surgery as well.

So sorry to hear about your glaucoma, but super thankful it wasn't a stroke. Here's hoping your vision is already improving. Thank goodness they have these (unwelcome though they may be) procedures to stop the nasty process. May your day in Edmonton go as smoothly and effectively as possible.

Glaucoma ugh! It is better than a stroke. I do have eye exams every year. Dr said vision hasn't changed but monitoring closely just the same. There is a test you can have done by a specialist to see if there is evidence of glaucoma other than the regular eye exam. Unless he can change the outcome I see no need to do that at this time.DH had cataract surgery. Sees so much better.

Hope it goes well today. We are all right there with you.

    Keep us posted.

Does your glaucoma create a medical reason to have your cataract surgery so soon? My opthamologist won't do it until the cataracts are pretty well advanced, but then none of my friends had other eye issues to complicate matters.

As far as I know they want to nip it in the bud. From what I read it is easier to break it up v.s. taking it out whole as incision is smaller to suction out.

I gently suggest a more in-depth conversation with your eye guy, maybe also running that by either your PCP or another ophthamologist. Around here, they keep telling patients that their cataracts are not "ripe" yet and hold off surgery until they really have to do it.
