HI all
I haven't logged in for a couple of days and see I've missed lots of posts.
Ladybug - Glad you've come back to us. Saw your PM, and yes of course I know you who you are!!! I don't think our hubbies have seen each other for awhile so I haven't gotten an update about you lately. I"m glad to hear you're going back to work soon…..great news. Hope you're recovering well from surgery. I laughed when I read your comment about Dr Chadwick refusing to work with Dr Guay. Chadwick was my surgeon also, and he shared his opinion. Glad you're able to work with Watters/Guay and hope the DIEP works out for you.
Caro - great news!!! And so nice that K.C. joined you for your appt.
Red- hope your incision is ok.
Someone (Cony?) asked how long I've had implants…surgery was Feb 7th, so just 2.5 weeks ago. All is well so far. Implants are much softer than expanders.
So how about March 4th for lunch? Sharon, glad to hear that you may come too. And Michele, I know you have a lot going on with the kids, but hoping you can take 2 hours and come for lunch:)

Rachel - I too got a call back after the MRI about the 'good side'. Had an ultrasound and biopsy, but everything was fine. Hope the same for you.

March 4 is good for me.

Wow, I guess winter is finally here!!! It's SO pretty out. I hope everyone is home safely from work, appts. etc.

Caro, wow, such super news....time to celebrate.

Sharon - give your head a shake girl lol….'pretty'?? I just hate the snow. And we're leaving in a few minutes to meet friends for dinner. Winter driving scares me and I hate being cold. I wish we had tropical weather all year round.

Love the snow, but was hoping spring was on its way. Had to drive out to Kemptville to get some furnace oil. We ran out and they won't deliver for about 5 days. Lots of scary drivers out there! Hope you had a great dinner Mich. hope anyone else out there was not involved in all those accidents tonite! Have a good weekend everyone.
Ps.......anyone been on Taxol and have lingering pain in their feet?0 -
Mich, I shook my head and realized you are right!! What was I thinking? I can't believe I did my errands last Sat. in sandals.
Ladybug, sorry you had to be out on the roads yesterday. Why couldn't they get to you sooner? Do you have a wood stove or some other source of heat?
0 -
Sharon, no..oil. But I did not call until it was empty. They charge more for same day fills, and I would rather just put it in myself. I enjoy the snow though.

Glad you came to your senses Sharon…you were sandals last weekend?? Brave girl:)
Dinner last night was great. Went with a couple that we only get together with once or twice a year. We met at the restaurant at 7. It was really busy….we were so deep in conversation all night that suddenly we all looked up and around and realized we were the only table left in the restaurant, staff were packing up to go home, and it was 11pm already.

I enjoy friends like that Mich. The kind where it doesn't matter how often or how seldom you meet, the visit is always good. I'm sure the restaurant staff felt like giving you the keys so you could lock up and they could go home.
This morning it's beautiful out and after the cold today and tonight it's supposed to be warmer again. It's not sandal weather today.
Sending warm thoughts to you Ladybug.

Hi All,
What a difference being on the other side of surgery... Although there is pain, pills, healing and scars; there is such a relief from mental stress.
Each day, I do a bit more. My L breast (built) is recovering well. My R breast (reduced) is struggling a bit, I may lose nipple, slight infection and swollen (1 1/2 times). My stomach swollen down right side (pedicle tram on L side. PS may need to drain, but she's hoping it will be absorbed. I know I am healing ss some of my numbness is turning into pain and I am itchy.
Csrolyn, Mich, Michele and Red, I hope you are healing well and life is getting back to normal.
Carolyn, so glad for you that you don't need chemo.r
Coni - looks like you'll have cleavage for the wedding. Good news.
Rachel, Dayle and KC - you are going through a challenging time right now with the waiting, tests, appointments and unknowns. But you have your surgery dates. I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery.
Nannababy - May you find some relief from your pain soon.
U
Sharon and Ladybug - so good to have new thoughts and messages on Ottawa Ladies.
Well, its a bit of a winter wonderland outside, but I know spring is right around the corner.
Be good to yourselves.
Take care.0 -
Hi Dragonfly - nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you're having post-surgery issues, but glad that the mental stress has eased for you. Hope you don't lose your nipple…I assume you're on antibiotics…hope it all clears up soon.

Well, I finally met with BS, exactly 1 month from surgery, for pathology results. After my mx they said they got the cancer out and ss my appointment was rescheduled for later date, I figured it's all good. Besides extensive DCIS, 3 peasize IDC, I also have 1/3 nodes. My BS said I need to decide about getting auxiliary nodes removed. She gave me pros and cons and 90% time no cancer. She noted my cancer is highly aggressive. She meets with team on Tuesday. I will eventually be meeting with oncology.
Has anyone had their auxiliary nodes removed or had positive nodes in sentinel biopsy? What were your suggested treatment plans?
I really thought I was done, except followup and fixups by PS. Back to the unknown and waiting game for awhile... Just another fork in the road.
Take care Ottawa.0 -
Boy is it ever quiet on here...Ihope everyone is just out enjoying the beautiful wether we are having....
Dragonfly, sorry to hear your journey has taken a different path. I am sending you some big hugs ((()))..

Dragonfly...sorry things are turning out more complicated. I had nodes removed with my mastectomy, but we knew from the biopsy they were positive at the start. Let us know how things go, hoping your recovery has been good.
Redninrah.....how are things?
I myself had my postoperative pathology from ovaries and tubes removal...all clear! That is a relief. Now hopefully chemo destroyed whatever was lingering.
Enjoying sitting in the sun at Tremblant. It is so peaceful and sunny. We are not at the centre village, so it is quieter.0 -
Hi all,
Yes Michele, it is quiet. What beautiful weather to be away from the computer and enjoying the outdoors or sitting with the windows open. Thanks for the hugs, I needed that.
Ladybug, good news on your post-op report. How nice for you to be enjoying this weather up at Tremblant. I love it up there.. For many years I'd go spring skiing with the girls at Tremblant.
I just got a call from the Cancer Centre. She is setting up my appointments. It looks like radiation will be at the QCH but the rest will have to be at the General because it will take too long. What other appointments? I haven't even seen oncologist yet! I am feeling lost or confused right now... Maybe a bit dazed. I don't know how serious this is.
Also,I now have a 3" split in my stomach seam (from middle to right). I don't know whether to be concerned or not. My PS is away until the 19th. I see her that day.
My 2 little grandkids keep me laughing. Jason,4, talks briefly on phone then says, I'm done this chatting Nana, I have too much work to do. Michaella,2 1/2, tries hard to have conversation, but once she gets confused, she says, Bye love you Nana, then leaves the phone. I haven't seen them since just before my surgery, Feb. 8, and doctor says I can't see them for 6 weeks as they just got their chicken pox shot and I could get shingles. I was hoping to see my newest grandchild (born last June) soon, but I'll have to wait for treatment plan. My plan was to see him last Sept. But this BC thing set everything aside.
I would love to hear about some good things happening.
I am getting bored. I've tried drawing, reading, walking, limited exercises and watching TV. I am limited to lifting a full dinner plate. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions you may have.
I hope everything is going well with you all. Take care.

Dragonfly- good luck with the incision, but rest assured its very common for it to open up.
Well i have my next fill tomorrow and stitches removed, but i cant make it, as im covering a clinic myself.
As for nodes being removed, i had 8 SNB and i had a 2mm micromet in one. I use my arm constantly in my job so i couldnt risk lymphedma, if i had more thaN 2 OUT OF 8 perhaps would have considered the full axial ones removed.
Weather is great, 2 weeks without the hubby, he is off to Iraq, mozambique, then botswana...part of his job. I am working and ive put the the girls in two weeks of march break camp.
Sooooooooooo nothing much to say but i hope you ladies are having a good Monday and not too tired from the one hr lack of sleep LOL

I just sent off my 17 year old son to France and Italy for ten days...I am so excited for him. I saw that he was at Notre Dame Cathedral yesterday. I think today he is at Versailles. They took a river cruise of the Seines, with a stop at the Eiffel tower. Pardon all my miss-spelled words. My husband is in Israel with a trip to Bethlehem as well. Meanwhile my daughter and i are enjoying the wonderful spring weather here in Ottawa...But we did get Sushi, so it is kinda like a mini vacation from cooking.
Sandi, the best thing is to keep your mind busy..now is the time to get into those cheesey tv shows that you have to admit you watch, like Party Mamas, Hillbilly Hand fishing and my crazy food obsessions...not that I ever watch any of that crap..
