Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have an appointment with the MO i was assigned on July 30th for my oncotype results and will decide after that if I still feel I should change. Feel much better now that I have some names.

Hi ladies
Well I had my surgery..july 18 ottawa general... and everything seems good....just a little tender but I guess that is normal
Had a lumpectomy as planned...previous lymph node biopsy was clear and I assume sentinel biopsy was good as well
Appointment with doctor lorimer in two weeks and then radiation
Will let u know0 -
Dian good news.
I have Segal, but I am on a clinical trial so I get scans every 9 weeks, and blood every three weeks. It just seems that I am getting the full report from my last scans and they are going to schedule me for my next scan. Holy cow the time zips by. I am either stressed to do the scan or get results from scan. Feels like I am in a continual stress mode.

michelle, what clinical trial is it

Hello Ottawa peeps. Just noticed this Ottawa group on this discussion board. I'm sitting here trying not to scratch the staples from the lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy that I had July 31. Anyone else told they would get steristrips but take off their dressings to find staples? And for those who have had staples, did you find they bothered you more 2 weeks in than at the beginning?
Thanks!0 -
Hi all Ottawa women ,
I'm from Ottawa and going through a bit of. Hard time ..
Worried and very stressed over upcoming mammo I have to get.
Last year my mammo came back ok and I put my worries aside.
Now I find it's back or maybe it never went away and I was in denial mode..I'm not even sure.
But the ache in my armpit and arm is not good
Also lumps and my nipple at times looks very flat .
My breast is achy too
The doc said he couldn't feel anything but he went so fast I'm not surprised.
I'm have really bad anxiety and this is absolutely not helping.
I'm scared of of my mind0 -
Welcome LELE and Diva.
Lele we all get a bit stressed when those test come at us...Some times I think that every time I have a twitch I think it's cancer. Try to relax and see what happens. When is your mamo?
Red, I'm sorry i didn't post before now...brain fart I guess. The clinical trial is called medi-578 or something like that. It is a iv treatment that goes along with Ai to see if it make the AI work better. I am on the arm not getting the drug. I do however get scans every 9 weeks and blood taken every 3 weeks as well as a dr visit every three weeks.
Diva, my staples after my recon started itching and bugging me about 2 weeks after. sometimes the scars still itch from time to time. They were red and sore for a long time.

Thanks Micheleboots. Good to know that I'm not entirely crazy :-) My family doc prescribed an antibiotic cream yesterday which has started helping but I can't wait to get these surprise staples out on the 20th. Can't wait to find out my path report as well. Let's get this treatment started!! :-)

DivaGG - I definitely would have been shocked to find staples. My sister has a son who has had numerous surgeries and she told me that the staples make for much nicer scars. Considering I didn't have staples and my scars are definitely not nice it might be a good thing!

Thanks Dani18. Ya, to say I was surprised is an understatement...lol. On the plus side, they haven't hurt at all but have given me some discomfort in the last few days but thanks to a previous post, today is better. Someone recommended that you wear a tshirt with the bra over and it'll be more comfortable and weren't they right?! I'm not winning any fashion awards but that's fine Granted, I'd like to see what my neighbours would say..lol..

Hi Micheleboots
Hi and thank you for the message..
My mammo is the 10th of september ..
I'm trying to relax but I'm not having luck ..
I'm terrified 24/70 -
hello ladies. Hows everyone? I am enjoying my life finally. I dont have breasts, but phuh, who cares. I am thankful to be cancer free hope you ladies are all doing well.
Leelee- We all have gone through a lot of stress, I try to combat it and say, well theres nothing you can do until the test arrives. Even now, if Im in any pain, i always think the worst, but then i try to get my act together and not think the worst..

Leelee, Red is right. There's nothing that you can do until the mammogram so you need to find a way to relax. I know, easier said than done :-) but you really do need to try. If it isn't cancer, then you've spent a lot of time worrying for nothing and if it is, then worrying about it isn't going to make the diagnosis go away. You just do what you have to do to treat it. You can do this.
I get my staples removed tomorrow and get my pathology report so I'm super happy. I have a list of questions but am wondering if any of you have any suggestions for questions to ask the doc. Not sure how much info I'll get tomorrow but I should get enough I figure. Any help would be great. Thanks!!0 -
Hello ladies, seems like there's quite a few of us now! Xoxox Jo

Woohoo..doing a happy dance. My staples are out AND lymph nodes and margins all free and clear. Woot! Waiting for onco to call for next steps as due to size of tumour 1.8 cm, chemo may be recommended but that's fine. I'm just happy it was pretty much good news. I've updated my blog with more fun stuff but squee! Ok, I'll come back down to earth now.

Hmm, trying to figure what a Diva dance would look like. All I'm picturing is me doing the tequila dance with my tiara on lol :-)
