Laura I don't blame u at all, but I wouldn't advise u either---U know it's only u who can make that decision.--I've been on it a little over a year and I feel like crap. U thought I was going to say something positive. Well over the last few yrs I can say I'm still here that's positive. LOL But I too have loads of side effects so what can I say except to talk to u'r onc and tell him/her exactly what u'r telling us and maybe there is a way to work it out.

I have been feeling better for the last few days.  Much more energy.  I don't know if it is my diet (I am carefully watching that my blood sugar stays stable), the increase in exercise or increasing my supplements to what is recommended on the bottle (doubling the B complex).  I am also farther out from surgery and that could account for the increase in energy.  I changed when I take the Aromasin too, to morning/lunch (when I remember/eat a larger meal).  I am saying this because AZ - I want to say hang in there!  And exercise!  I really think it helps the mood stuff. Just a couple of 20- 30 mins. daily of walking, biking, jogging, a DVD that pumps you up - any of those may help.  I am also grade 3 with 3 kids.  This BC is serious, serious business.

Laura, I'm sorry, I feel like I was too harsh. You are the only one who can decide what is best for you. The Als are life savers, but quality of life is very important too. God bless.

I concur with Mybee - exercise and esp diet will help with SEs.....Maybe see a nutritionist that has experience with cancer, or better yet, a Naturopath.  I know if i start having SEs OR if I decide to go off of them, I will go back to see my ND for help on both issues.  Good luck to you!

I have a theory that my mood takes a nosedive about 7 hrs. after my daily pill.  If I could time that so it occurs while I am sleeping.......that could help......?

ptdreamers-----I don't feel like water it just feels like a lot of wax--when I had the Dr look at it she said it looked normal--and I've cleaned it with wax removal stuff--it's not like swimmersear but it's like something is there and it's a little aggrevating. So ???

I do feel better since I've been in the hospital since the last time, takin more meds now but I'm still inpain (body) and very tired. But that's been for a long time now. I do have a little more energy. But there are odds and ends always popping in. LOL

    Hi Everyone -

YorkieMom, you weren't harsh! I really didn't take it that way. No worries.

I took it this morning. I feel a cold coming on, and everytime I have any kind of illness or pain, I always think the Big C is back. I guess if I'm that worried about it, I should take the aromasin. Maybe it won't be as bad . . .

Ptdreamers & Camillegal - I am 47 and just got hearing aids last week. You are not crazy. Chemo can do a number on your eyesight and your hearing. My hearing loss is mild, but it is enough that I accuse everyone of mumbling, and my kids are sick of repeating things 10 times so that I understand. My ears feel plugged - actually, it's more of a plugged feeling in that tube behind your ear (eustacian?). I kept thinking it was some kind of infection and that antibiotics would get it. No such luck. Onc said it was a side effect of the chemo.

Have a good day All! I am going to try to take a walk (in Phx and it's about 100+ degrees, so it won't be a long one!). There is a frozen yogurt place about 1 mile away and I may very well treat myself to that! I guess I have to start somewhere.

azdiva, that sucks. have always had acute hearing. didn't have chemo. could this be from aromasin?

pt I honestly think anything can be from aromasin---like what is called chemobrain---u don't have to have chemo to get it???? so who knows what these meds SE are doing to us. When I have mentioned some strange things--my Onc actualky looks it up cuz she hadn't heard of that particular SE and she finds it under less than 1% of people get it--which numbers wise is enough but % wise sounds like no one --so aain no one knows it all. I think they learn sometimes with us still---cuz not as many people have survived in years past than now so some things seem bizzare and they are not. Well it wouldn't hurt to get u'r ears checked by a specialist--they be more in tune to it LOL

Kayb it's been so hot u can't even walk early or late it's stifling--today is the first day it's COOL here and I don't have any energy LOL But it's so nice to have windows open and have a breeze coming in.

My Dr. just called I had blood tests yesterday and my number are still all low so I have to double up on some meds--so my energy level is worse than usual and that's my excuse LOL--I have to go in next week again, for tests. Hahahaha so I'm extra sluggish---all right lazy

hey ladies......went out for an overnight with my dh.....had a big mexican meal....was stuffed but not too bad.....walked back to hotel, sat outside.....went to bed early......then woke up with extreme cramping, sharp stomach pains and diahrea like ive never had for a few hours.  Hubby ate some of my dinner as well.  Today im just wiped out.......Wondering if this could be the Aromasin?  Or maybe it was mild food poisoning and my immune system couldnt handle it....?  I know i should drink some electrolytes, but hate drinking that stuff - if you guys know a tolerable one, let me know.......

Shayne has u'rcramping and diarrhea stopped now.  I doubt it was the aromasin (???) but u r used to eating that type of spice in mexican food (which I love) Do u have any kind of fever? There are a lot of drinks with electrolytes now mainly water mixed--I can't think of one name right now. I drink propel constantly, but then again I'm always off and in the hospital--but it tastes good.It always wipes u out when u get a bout of diar. ask u'r husband to go and get a couple of bottles of that drink and drink it cold--I have had some and the flavored ones are pretty ood--Lemon, berry are my favorites.

About the ears.....I have used so many q tips and never before aromasin (I actually take the generic).  They're always clean and I don't expect them to be.  Also, I feel like something is crawling in them to the point I will almost dose off finally and it starts and keeps me awake.

When I browse this thread, I realize that there are so many different SEs with this drug and no two of us seem to have the same set of SEs.

But wondering if anyone is experiencing numbness/neuropathy on Aromasin. I had mild neuropapathy in my right leg before starting the drug but it's gotten worse over the last few weeks. I'm not sure whether to blame the weather as heat would affect me anyway or the lack of exercise (again because of the weather I'm not walking enough) or whether the Aromasin is doing this. Onc wants me to see a neurologist.

Mary I think that is one of the problems--we don't know what's from drugs or normally happening--it's always a mystery, that why I like to come here it helps me--cuz I think I'm the only one sometimes--Ialso have neurapathy(sp)??? I figure it's from chemo and aromasin but I don't know for sure--it's bearable and right now I'm seeing a few new Drs. and maybe I'll gget into it but I don't want to keep going on and on with drs. Stupid right?--I never had this before.

cami- I can't really speak to the neuropathy, but am hoping someone else can.

Updating my progress/helpful tips(?): I increased my exercise and am following a 1200 calorie a day diet (with of course a few slip ups).  Didn't exactly follow the two 30 min. plan.  Sometimes just bunched it up - bike riding for 1 1/2 hrs., another day biking, then swimming, followed by more biking, to the local park.  I still wake up remarkably stiff, achiness seems to be less (I am taking fewer pain pills).  The stiffness works its way out as I move in the a.m. I have lost one lb. in a week.  They don't come off like they used to ladies!

On a side note:  It was weird getting into a bathing suit and swimming for the first time in two years - had my MX last summer.  I checked a few times to see if my scar showed and of course it didn't. My pec muscles are definitely weaker, and I had trouble just hanging out on the side of the pool wall, arms draped over.  Those muscles are definitely in need of some stretches and strenthening.  Makes me want to go back soon.  Miss my old body but glad to have what I have; what an ordeal this has been and I think I had it relatively easy..................
